My performance of the week ending 4/13/19 on TV goes to…

Jodie Comer as Villanelle on Killing Eve. Jodie is so brilliant as Villanelle, captivating our attention again and again.  Villanelle’s character is the most interesting one on television right now for me and part of that is because Jodie Comer brings her to life with such intensity.  There is something so magnetic about Villanelle.  Even though she is an assassin, she has a jaded past and she distorts connections with others so much, but there is still a small glimmer of humanity within her.

Part of what makes Villanelle so intriguing is her dynamic with Eve, as these two often remind me of magnets repelling one another, yet they somehow meet in the center anyway.  They are so different, but they are also similar in so many ways, as they both have obsessive tendencies and look at things from unique angles.  Somehow, this game of cat and mouse has elevated into something more.  It’s twisted and disturbing, but there is also the potential for love and understanding.  Villanelle’s character has so many layers and it’s interesting to see things from her perspective.

What’s next for Villanelle?  We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but it looks like she is not going to give up on finding Eve anytime soon.  I’m sure she will cross paths with other interesting characters along the way, but this reunion can’t come soon enough.  I would also love to see Villanelle’s past explored even more this season to try and understand how her mind works, as I am so interested in her character.  I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!
