My performance of the week ending 1/18/20 on TV goes to…

Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester on The CW’s Supernatural.

If you thought Jared was done shattering our hearts into a million pieces after winning your favorite male performance on television for two years in a row, think again!  Sam Winchester is starting 2020 off with a heart-wrenching performance that will continue to linger with you long after watching Season 15 episode 9, “The Trap.”

**Please note some spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on the series.**

Jared Padalecki has this brilliant way of bringing the fans in with charm and compassion.  He is so effective as Sam Winchester, making you truly think that he is your best friend.  He’s someone to root for against all odds and he wears his heart on his sleeve, which is not an easy thing to do when he is constantly facing angels, demons, and God.

While all of the performances on SPN are always fantastic, there is just something about Jared’s portrayal of Sam that truly resonates with me.  His connection with God put him in danger and yet he still tries to hold on to that last sliver of hope, refusing to believe that there could be a world where Dean would ever give up.

Sam’s loyalty and courage make him a true hero.  Even though Chuck wants to believe that there is only one end to the Winchester story, there is no breaking Sam Winchester.  His dark trip to the future was revealing enough, allowing Chuck’s plan to work, but Sam is a fighter and he’s not going to give up without reaching into the deepest depths of his soul to make a difference.

Sam has made so many sacrifices along the way and now he has to pass on a chance at romance with Eileen, but I have a feeling that all of Sam’s good work is going to pay off in the end.  When it comes to rooting for the good guys, Sam is the epitome of everything in this world that is worth fighting for.  Perhaps he should be taking care of the world rather than Chuck, keeping us all safe from monsters while showing love and understanding to others in need.

What’s next for Sam?  Well, we are pretty much back at square one now that Chuck is free, but Sam’s actions did matter, as Dean is the one to remind him that they will find a way.  Sam is the glue that keeps the Winchester family together and while it will be bitter sweet to say goodbye, I know that Sam is destined for great things.

Thank you Jared Padalecki for continuing to inspire us with your moving performances.  You’re one of a kind!

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 9: “I Hate Missing my Favorite Show”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 9, we learned that hope can be extremely powerful, but when you break that last remaining glimmer, is it truly gone forever?

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “The Trap,” Chuck kidnaps Sam and Eileen and is determined to sever his connection with Sam once and for all.  Meanwhile, Dean and Castiel head to Purgatory to find the Leviathan Blossom, running into some threats along the way.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 9 are:

5

“All good things must come to an end.”

Sam wakes up to discover that Chuck is holding him and Eileen captive in a casino.  Chuck reminds Sam that they are still connected, which is keeping him trapped and weak.  Sam tries to stay strong, as Chuck begins to reveal his plan, hoping that Dean and Castiel can get to them before it’s too late.

4

“That’s the way we’ll save Sam and that’s the way we’ll save the world.”

Wise words indeed, Castiel.  After Eileen tries to call for help, Dean wants to rush in to save Sam, but Castiel reminds him not to be stupid.  He explains that they only have a small window to retrieve the Leviathan Blossom from Purgatory, which will save Sam and the rest of the world.

Dean will do anything to save his brother, but Castiel continues to be the voice of reason here, recognizing that sometimes sacrifice is necessary for the good of the world.

3

“This is gonna hurt her as much as it hurts you.”

As Chuck begins to reveal his plan, we learn that he used Eileen to spy on the Winchesters.  He forces Eileen to start cutting away at Sam’s wound against her will and by the end of the episode, Eileen is ready to part ways with Sam, not sure if anything is real.

However, Sam gives her a swoon-worthy kiss and tells her that it is real, but it looks like Eileen may be safer away from Sam right now until he is off Chuck’s radar.

2

“You don’t have to say it.”

After Dean and Castiel run into some threats in Purgatory and get separated, Dean takes a moment to himself to admit that he was wrong and to tell Castiel that he forgives him.  Later when they are reunited, Castiel tells him that he doesn’t have to say anything and that he heard his prayer, providing us with a heartwarming Destiel moment for sure!

1

“I will make it better.”

Chuck gives Sam the opportunity to see the future, as we get several glimpses from Sam’s perspective.  In this future world, all of their friends are dead or gone except for Jody and other Bobby, but this future is dark and hopeless, as even Dean begins to give up.

The watch Sam holds stops on December 9th 2022, as Chuck explains that this is the end of the line.  Sam watches in horror as he and Dean are turned into vampires and killed by their friend, but he tells Chuck that there has to be another way to make it better.

Chuck reminds Sam that without him, the monsters will devour the world and take over, giving Sam something to really think about.  When Dean and Castiel show up to save the day, Sam cannot go through with smashing the Leviathan Blossom, recognizing that he has to protect the world.

Chuck is ultimately set free by breaking Sam’s hope, so now we have that to worry about that.  Later on, Dean reminds him that they will not give up and they will find another way, as we are left with a huge cliffhanger at the end, flashing to Jack and Billie in The Empty.

Is Jack somehow the loophole to stop Chuck’s plan for good?  Can Sam and Dean re-write Chuck’s story or are they destined to repeat the memories of other Sams and Deans from alternate realities?

I’m confident that the Winchester brothers will be able to write their own stories, as we inch closer and closer to the end of our beloved series, but will it end the way we expect?

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 8: “You Didn’t Deserve That”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 8, we were reminded that one doesn’t always get what he or she deserves, but we need to keep fighting one day at a time even if we can’t always tip the scale back to make things truly right.

Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Our Father, Who Aren’t in Heaven,” Dean comes up with a plan to find Chuck’s weakness.  Meanwhile, Adam finally returns, the new Queen of Hell is revealed, and Eileen tries to work a case of her own.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 8 are:

5

“No, I’m saying he has a weak spot.”

Dean may be on to something here even if he doesn’t know what an Achilles heel is.  He thinks that they can use the Demon tablet to find out Chuck’s weakness, but they need someone who can read it.

Donatello makes another welcomed appearance, but things get tricky when Chuck begins to talk through him, reminding the Winchesters that Chuck/God is always watching.

4

“You could do worse.”

The will they-won’t they vibe continues between Sam and Eileen and Dean takes a moment to tell Sam that he can be happy with her.  Sure, they have both tried the family life before, claiming it wasn’t for them, but Eileen gets the hunter lifestyle and would be a welcomed addition.

Although this might be tricky now that Chuck/God has just lured Eileen and Sam into a parking lot alone.  What are Chuck’s plans for Eileen?  Will Sam lose Eileen again before he gets a chance to tell her how he feels?

I can’t wait to find out!

3

“Hello boys.”

After traveling to Hell to find Michael, the boys run into the new Queen of HellRowena.  They are clearly in shock to see Rowena again, but she feels right at home being dead and I have to say that she makes a pretty bad ass queen.

That being said, I sort of felt like Rowena’s re-appearance on the show took away from her sacrifice.  Rowena’s sacrifice really helped her character reach its peak and now she’s kind of right back where she started again.

And if we can see Rowena again, where the hell is Crowley?

2

“I will help you.”

After Castiel shows Michael the truth about Chuck/God, Michael agrees to help them.  He explains that there is a spell to weaken Chuck, but they need the nectar from the Leviathan blossom in order for the spell to work.

And of course, this nectar can only be found in Purgatory, so it looks like Dean and Castiel will be making a special trip back there.

This should give us some more cameos and adventures along the way.  Next stop, Purgatory!

1

“You didn’t deserve that.”

Adam finally makes his return on the show and Dean and Sam learn that Michael does allow him to have control here and there.  I guess being locked away in a cage for so many years can get really lonely.  Sam and Dean apologize to Adam and tell him that they were wrong and he didn’t deserve that, but I’m not sure one can truly accept an apology for being banished to rot away in Hell.  Family…you gotta love them.

Either way, I was glad to see Adam back on the show because I often used to feel like the writers just sort of abandoned his story completely and moved on, so I thought this was an important connection for the final season.

Overall, the episode felt slightly transitional and I am more interested in Chuck/God’s deadly adventures at a casino, but it looks like Sam will be getting up close and personal with him when new episodes return on January 17th.

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 7: “I Kill Monsters”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 7, it may be true that “no one’s innocent,” but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care so much.  After all, that can often separate the good guys from the bad guys and when it comes down to it, someone has to be the one to set things right.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Last Call,” Dean catches up with an old friend named Leo, played by the amazing Christian Kane.  Meanwhile, Castiel returns to help Sam, but things take a turn for the worse when Sergei the Shaman gets involved.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 7 are:

5

“Are you two hung over?”

I guess I wasn’t too off about Sam and Eileen.  Now that Eileen is alive, she is spending quite a bit of time with Sam and it’s clear that there are some feelings floating around here.

Sam tells Dean that it’s not like that with her, but Castiel ends up interrupting a moment between them when Sam holds her hand, so I guess romance is not off the table just yet.

4

“I’m ready to help.”

When Castiel returns, he is ready to help, explaining to Sam that there may be some of his soul inside of Chuck.  When Sam fired the gun, a piece of his essence was apparently fired off as well, which sort of explains the link.

Castiel wants to probe/study the wound to find out more, but it looks like he is going to have to turn to an old frenemy to do so…

3

“You ever regret it…walking away?”

Dean decides to take on a case by himself and heads out to Texhoma County, Texas, where a girl named Angela has gone missing after leaving B’s Sugar Bar.  Dean winds up at a bar named Swayze’s and is reunited with an old friend, Leo, played by Angel’s Christian Kane.

Apparently Leo used to know Dean’s dad and Dean hasn’t seen him since college, but he used to hunt with them, so he is aware that monsters exist.  Dean and him spend the night catching up with some fun stories and we even get to witness Dean putting on a show stopping number with Leo, so I call that a win!

2

“I think we can beat God.”

After Sergei the Shaman double crosses Castiel, Sam is in great danger, but starts having these flashes where he sees Chuck’s memories.  Sergei is after the key of death (The Black Key) from the Men of Letters, but Castiel proves to be quite formidable when he shows Sergei a picture of his niece, threatening her life if he does not help Sam.

Perhaps Castiel has a future in the Russian mob after all, but Sergei does what he is told and Sam is right back where he started, still having the bullet wound.

All is not lost; however, as Sam suddenly realizes that Chuck is actually weak and they may be able to beat him now.

1

“I kill monsters…”

Christian Kane is no stranger to playing the bad guy, as we later find out that he is keeping a demon locked up and is feeding it victims to maintain money and power.  Dean takes out the demon with little effort because he’s Dean Winchester and we get a showdown between him and Leo.

After running out of bullets, Dean decides to get creative with his weapon choice and goes for a pool cue stick.  Dean can’t simply look the other way here even though he used to be friends with Leo.  Right before he dies, Leo asks Dean why he cares so much and he explains that “someone has to.”

I thought this moment was really important for Dean once again.  Even though the world is filled with monsters, Dean continues to fight the good fight while caring about others, which is easier said than done sometimes, but that’s why he is our hero!

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 6: “I Learned From The Best”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 6, we learned that even if we don’t make the rules, that doesn’t mean that we should give up.  What we do matters, but sometimes we have to see it for ourselves to be convinced.  Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Golden Time,” an old friend crosses paths with Sam and Dean.  Meanwhile, Castiel attempts a case of his own, realizing that perhaps he is needed after all.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 6 are:

5

“I know how it ends…”

In the beginning of the episode, Sam crosses paths with Eileen.  Remember her?  Well, Eileen is now a ghost and she escaped from hell, but she is now disappointed to find out that she will not be able to get into heaven either, as the Winchesters share what they learned from Kevin.

Sam decides to try and help Eileen by obtaining one of Rowena’s crystals, hoping that he can do something for her soul, but Dean wants to sit this one out for now.

I always felt a vibe between Sam and Eileen in previous episodes, so I’m wondering if there may be a chance for them now…

4

“You miss her.”

Rowena kept a secret stash for her powerful spells and documents, as Sam begins to go through some of her journals.  Eileen recognizes that Sam really misses Rowena and it’s clear that he is still feeling guilty about killing her, even though he knows it had to be done.

Sam comes across a spell that Rowena had been working on for their mother to bring her back to life and now suddenly realizes that perhaps he can finish it and help Eileen.

I love that we are still feeling Rowena’s presence even though she is gone.  Sam is the only living person who can apparently walk into her place unharmed and it seems like she has left everything for him to find, knowing that he would be able to continue her work.

3

“I learned from the best!”

Witches are after Rowena’s secret stash as well and the head witch plans on using Rowena’s spell to bring back her daughter.  Magic like this can only be used once, so Sam is not about to miss his chance to help someone he loves again.

After Dean shows up with perfect timing to help, it looks like Sam may be out of luck, but he ends up showing off how he learned from Rowena, taking down his enemy with a spell  of his own.  Go Sam!  Rowena would be so proud!

2

“It’s time for me to get back in the game.”

We finally catch up with Castiel in this episode and learn that he is on…vacation!  Well, at least he’s trying to enjoy some time relaxing and fishing, but Castiel finds himself caught up with his very own case after a boy goes missing.

Castiel agrees to help a worried mother and runs into a Djinn, taking him out, and reminding him that nothing will be able to protect him from Cass.  I was absolutely loving bad-ass Castiel in this moment!

Castiel heals the boy and reunites him with his mother, now realizing that perhaps it is finally time for him to get back in the game.  We need you Cass!

1

“Because we’re the guys who break the rules.”

Sam is able to use the spell to bring Eileen back to life, so I think it’s safe to say that perhaps romance isn’t off the table for these two.  Either way, this was a heartwarming moment and I think Sam really needed to do this to remind him that their actions do matter.

Dean is now taking his turn at feeling defeated, but Sam reminds him that he needs him and that they will find a way to beat Chuck/God.

Perhaps we need everyone back together again in order to make some real progress here, but I’m hoping that Sam and Dean can put their angst aside in order to continue the good fight.

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 5: “It Always Ends the Same”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 5, we learned that Chuck is really only interested in one ending.  He’s not exactly Shakespeare, but it doesn’t look like he is letting go of his writing philosophy anytime soon, but is there a possibility for a surprise ending?  Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Proverbs 17:3,” Sam and Dean head out to Black Forest, Colorado to investigate a new case, but things take an interesting turn when a former foe re-emerges.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 5 are:

5

“I look exactly the same!”

In the beginning of the episode, Dean decides to try out some Ghost Pepper Jerky, but perhaps it is a little too hot for him to handle.  Sam and Dean head out to Colorado to investigate a mountain lion attack, discovering that the mountain lion is actually a werewolf.

Sam and Dean pose as employees from Fish & Wildlife, but their ID photos are from the first season of SPN, bringing some fun nostalgia into the mix.  Dean hilariously claims that he looks exactly the same, but I do agree that the Winchester brothers both look fantastic!

4

“I’m where I’m supposed to be.”

While investigating the case, Sam and Dean meet Ashley, who is the only one to survive the attack.  Dean bonds with her right away and promises to protect her.  While watching over her, Dean has a moving chat with her and explains that he does love his job, revealing that it feels good to help people.

I thought this moment was really important for Dean’s character because we have previously seen him shut down in other seasons and it looks like he is finally realizing that the good and the bad moments are going to happen, but he still wants to continue his job, helping one person at a time.

3

“I’m a monster too.”

The werewolf brothers kidnap Ashley, but Sam and Dean break up the party.  One of the brothers definitely has a conflicted conscience and decides to kill his own brother and then himself.

Sam and Dean are shocked by this action, but we’ve certainly been seeing a lot of monsters with several layers for a while.  No one’s ever really completely good or evil, but the brother aspect has to be some kind of foreshadowing…

2

“I love the hard way.”

As if this wasn’t surprising enough, Dean accidentally knocks Ashley down and she is brutally stabbed, but we discover that she is actually Lilith.  Chuck apparently brought her back from The Empty and she is carrying out his request, explaining that she wants the Equalizer, even though she refuses to call it that.

Lilith is a worthy former foe and Sam and Dean are completely shocked by her re-appearance, now understanding that this case was another one of Chuck’s creations.  Lilith says she can’t kill them; clearly playing by Chuck’s rules, revealing that he wants their story to end with one brother killing the other.

1

“Why doesn’t he just kill us already?”

A fair point for sure, Dean, but it looks like Chuck is only interested in one kind of ending.  Sam finally tells Dean about his nightmares, revealing that perhaps he is seeing versions of Chuck’s stories because he is linked to him from the bullet wound, confirming a theory that many of us had.

So, if Sam can see Chuck’s endings, is it possible for him to change the outcome?

Sam and Dean are left with the impossible task of finding a way to kill Chuck/God, but this is not going to be easy, especially now that Lilith has destroyed the Equalizer.

So, how will they be able to stop Chuck/God once and for all?

Can Cass help at all?

I have a feeling that the Winchesters are certainly going to have to get creative for this one, but I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 4: “Atomic Monsters”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 4, Chuck reminded us that writers can do anything, but will the fans be satisfied with his ending for SupernaturalPlease note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Atomic Monsters,” Sam continues to struggle with his grief while Dean attempts to get him back on track with a new case.  Meanwhile, Chuck seeks out guidance from his number one fan and ends up writing the end of the Supernatural story.  My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 4 are:

5

“Closer than you think…”

In the beginning of the episode, Dean channels his inner John Wick and starts taking out threats left and right, proving that he may have a future in action movies.  Things get even more weird when Benny shows up, signaling that this is definitely some kind of dream or hallucination.

I’ve always been a fan of Benny’s character and it was a welcomed cameo, but Dean has a lot to deal with when Sam appears to be the threat he has been searching for.

Sam wakes up in a cold sweat and we learn that it is actually his nightmare, but is this a foreshadowing of what’s to come in Chuck’s dark story?  Let’s hope not!

4

“She knew what needed to be done.”

After Dean tries to cheer Sam up with some bacon, he reminds Sam that Rowena knew what she was doing.  Even though this may be true, it certainly doesn’t make things any easier for the Winchesters, so Dean decides that it’s time for them to go on a case together.

Sam initially doesn’t want to go, but Dean thinks it’s important to keep him busy, recognizing the pain that his brother is in.

3

“Somebody’s got a fetish…”

For dead cheerleaders that is, as Sam and Dean head off to Beaverdale High School to track down a vampire who has been picking cheerleaders off one by one.  After an extreme overreaction from some parents of a football star, Sam and Dean suspect that the father is the vampire, but we find out that it is actually the son.

His parents have been trying to protect him, which brings up some unresolved feelings about Jack, but Sam and Dean are both impressed that the son recognizes what needs to be done, saying goodbye to his parents and going off with Sam and Dean so that he can be eliminated as a threat once and for all.

2

“You have to write…”

Chuck decides to visit his number one fan, Becky, desperately trying to figure out what his next move should be.  Chuck is clearly lost, but Becky reminds him that he should write, not realizing that she may have just created an even greater threat by recommending this.

Chuck begins writing again about Sam and Dean and actually writes a very dark ending after some constructive criticism from Becky, which leads to Chuck turning a dangerous corner as well.  So, what does this ending entail and will the fans be satisfied with it?

The Pop Sam and Dean figurines are nodding yes, but I have a feeling that the Winchester brothers may need to fight for a more hopeful ending.  We’ll have to see how this all plays out, but I’m concerned for our beloved Sam and Dean!

1

“We are finally free to move on.”

We get our weekly recap with Sam and Dean discussing their next moves, as Dean reminds Sam that they should still do the job for Jack, Mom, and Rowena.  Sam is clearly still feeling lost and broken, but Dean tells him that they are finally free to move on without Chuck getting in their way.  Except we know that Chuck has just written a very dark ending for the Winchesters, so they may not be free just yet…

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 3: “The Rupture”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 3, I realized that sacrifice is never easy, but sometimes it is necessary.  Would you let the world die so that someone else could live or would you be able to make the impossible choice that Sam Winchester is left with?  Please note MAJOR spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “The Rupture,” the team works together to retrieve Lilith’s horn to summon the souls back to hell, but not everything goes according to plan.  Meanwhile, a sacrifice is made that reminds us that we are coming to the end, but what does it mean for the fate of our remaining characters?  My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 3 are:

5

“Go team!”

In the beginning of the episode, Rowena tries another ritual to cast the souls back to hell, but it doesn’t work.  Rowena says that they are all going to die and that no magic can stop it.  Dean insists that they try and come up with another plan and it seems like Belphegor has an idea with potential.

Belphegor explains that Lilith had a horn to summon all of the souls at once as a measure of last resort, but that it is probably locked away somewhere in hell.  At this point, no one else has another suggestion, so it’s time for the team to get to work.

4

“Not at any price…”

Ketch is still recovering in the hospital, but he is anxious to return to his friends.  We know that Ketch was hired to track down Belphegor by a demon named Ardat and she certainly makes her presence known now.  Ardat threatens Ketch and demands that he give up his friends, but Ketch has this moment of redemption.

The old Ketch would have given them up to save himself,  but he remains loyal and true.  Ardat rips out Ketch’s heart and leaves him there to die, but we know that not everyone is going to make it on the last season of SPN.  Either way, I’m glad that he did the right thing in the end.  RIP Ketch.

3

“You’re an abomination…”

Castiel is forced to join Belphegor in hell to track down Lilith’s horn, but he is not exactly pleased about it.  Belphegor claims he wants to be friends, but Castiel cannot bear to look at him wearing Jack’s body like a suit.  Castiel tells Belphegor that he is an abomination, but proves to be quite useful when it comes to opening up the box to retrieve the horn.  Nice singing, Cass!

Ardat attempts to break up the party, but is eliminated.  However, she warns Castiel that Belphegor is trying to claim the throne of hell for himself.  Belphegor’s true motives are revealed, explaining that he wants to absorb all the souls so that he can become a god.  After all, there is a vacancy for that position.

Castiel is able to stop him in time, but Belphegor clearly does some damage when he pretends to be Jack one last time.  Castiel recognizes the lie and destroys Belphegor, but it broke his heart to do so.  Will Castiel be able to recover from this or is he too far gone now?  I can’t bear to see him apart from the Winchesters, but he may need to find his sense of worth on his own.  We need you Cass!

2

“It has to be you.”

SPN is not holding anything back for the final season, as Rowena suddenly realizes that “death is an infinite vessel.”  She explains to Sam that she can absorb all the souls and bring them back to hell, but her death will seal the spell.  Sam tells her that there has to be another way, but that pesky prophecy comes back up, as Rowena reminds him that he will need to be the one to kill her.

Sam and Rowena have grown very fond of one another and this moment was beyond heartbreaking, as Sam kills Rowena to save them all.  Rowena absorbs the souls and says goodbye to her boys before she enters into the rift, which had me crying my eyes out.

Rowena has been one of my absolute favorite characters, but I thought that she also found redemption here.  The witch who used to look out for her own interests truly discovered her purpose and this moment with Sam reminded her that she did have a family in the end.

Farewell Rowena.  I will miss you so much!

1

“I don’t think there’s anything left to say…”

After this incredibly heartbreaking moment, Sam and Dean return to the bunker.  Sam is dealing with his grief and Dean reminds him that they did it.  Dean and Castiel have an argument and Castiel feels like Dean is still blaming him for Mary’s death.  There has been a distance between these two for quite a while, but Castiel decides that it’s time for him to move on now.

Where will Castiel go?  Is there a way for him and Dean to resolve their differences?  I hope so because I can’t bear to see him separated from Sam and Dean.  Castiel reminds Dean that he has Sam, but I have always looked at them all as a family and I can’t bear to see them apart.  Let’s hope this gets resolved!  Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 2: “Raising Hell”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 2, Castiel reminded us that life may be an obstacle course, but we do run our own race.  Sometimes it may feel like we are just puppets, but we can still determine our own fate and what we do each day is real and significant.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Raising Hell,” some familiar faces show up since it’s basically all hands on deck at this point, but is there anyone who can stop these souls from taking over the world?  Meanwhile, Chuck/God has a family reunion and Dean and Castiel have a heart-to-heart talk.  My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 2 are:

5

“Am I interrupting something juicy?”

It’s always great to see Rowena, who shows up to help the Winchesters out of this jam.  Rowena is willing to help, but she does point out that a town full of ghosts is extremely messy even by Winchester standards.  Rowena also seems to be quite familiar with the leader of the ghosts, Francis.  Will she be able to put a dent in his plan or do we need some more recruits to fight the good fight?  Either way, I always want Rowena on my side!

4

“Ketch…how are you here?”

Rowena is not the only one to show up to help out, as Ketch makes a grand entrance as well.  Ketch and Rowena have an interesting vibe going on, although Sam and Dean don’t seem to be too interested in this love connection.  Ketch claims that he wants to help, but things get interesting when he becomes possessed by Francis.

After Dean uses an iron bullet on him, Ketch reminds him that this isn’t the first time he has tried to kill him, but Castiel cannot heal Ketch, which means that something is definitely off in the universe.  It looks like our former assassin is all right for now, but everyone will need to be more careful moving forward.

3

“What about all of this is real?  We are.”

It wouldn’t be Supernatural if we didn’t get some kind of motivational speech and Castiel and Dean stop to have a heart-to-heart chat.  Dean is still feeling very defeated, but Castiel maintains a positive spin.  I think that Castiel makes a significant point and I’m just hoping that Dean can truly see the good that they are all doing.  There is always this dynamic when one character loses faith, but I’m hoping that they can all find some way to keep on believing in the final season.

2

“You’re on your own.”

Dean is not the only one to think twice about life and his purpose, as Chuck/God decides to pay his sister a visit.  Amara is not exactly pleased to see her brother and seems to be perfectly content right where she is.  Chuck wants to take on some kind of family project, clearly searching for something else beyond the world he just abandoned, but it looks like he is starting to realize his mistake.

Later on, Amara detects that Chuck is not at full strength and it appears that he has also been weakened by the bullet.  When Chuck touches the wound on his shoulder, Sam also feels it, which means that they are somehow linked.  I started thinking about what this means and I was wondering if Sam could be next in line to be the new “God” of the world?

Maybe it’s time for someone else to take over and perhaps this link will allow him to do so.  We’ll have to see how this plays out, but it’s clear that Chuck and Sam’s fates are now intertwined.

1

“I love you guys…”

Kevin also shows up during this episode, but Dean is extremely surprised to see him since he was under the impression that he was in heaven.  Chuck/God lied about this, which means he could have been lying about a lot of other things, but Kevin is now basically trapped between Hell and earth.  Apparently once a soul has been to Hell it can’t go to heaven and Chuck/God is no longer on the Winchesters’ side, so it looks like Kevin doesn’t have much of a choice here.

It’s clear that Kevin thinks of Sam and Dean as his true family and I’m hoping that they can find a way to help him.  However, it looks like they need to first tackle the issue of more souls coming out to play, which makes me wonder how they will get out of this one?  Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from the “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 1 Season Premiere: “Back and to the Future”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 1 season premiere, I realized that we’re coming to the end of the road for the Winchester brothers, but how will it all end?  I mean, “What’s one more apocalypse, right?”  Will Sam and Dean drive off into the sunset together or is there one final battle still coming?  I can’t wait to find out!  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Back and to the Future,” Sam, Dean, and Castiel face off against an overwhelmingly large group of the undead.  The souls of hell have been freed and they are looking to inhabit the nearest bodies, but some of them seem to be pickier than others.  Meanwhile, Sam and Dean are forced to work with a demon, as some familiar ghosts begin to wreak havoc in town.  My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 1 season premiere are:

5

“Welcome to the end…what did that mean?”

An excellent question for sure, as we start off the season premiere exactly where we left off.  Chuck/God is out and he leaves the Winchester brothers and Castiel to fight off the undead.  Our favorite heroes are outnumbered for sure, but they are able to get to a nearby mausoleum, barricading the door.  That doesn’t necessarily mean that they are out of the woods just yet though…

4

“It’s not Jack…”

For all of you Jack fans (me included), fear not!  Even though Jack appears to be gone, a demon decides to set up shop in his body and even sports some nice new shades since Jack’s eyes were burned right out of him.  Castiel is beyond upset and wants him to get out of Jack as quickly as possible, but the demon offers to help the Winchesters out, claiming that he likes hell the way it is.

While I’m not sure that he can be trusted, they hilariously refer to him as “Crowley Junior” and Jack’s got a new attitude, but it’s probably only a matter of time before he turns on Castiel and the Winchester brothers.

3

“If she’s back, then they’re all back…”

Sam and Dean run into quite a few familiar faces…only they’re ghosts and it looks like a lot of this season may involve them trying to eliminate past foes that they killed previously.  A lot of  these spirits will most likely have vengeance on their minds, but some of them just want to have fun, tormenting several people in town, which forces Sam and Dean to get creative about evacuating everyone.

This is only going to last for a little while; however, so they better come up with something else fast even though the demon’s spell seems to work for now, creating some kind of barrier, trapping the spirits where they are.  Either way, I thought this was a fun and clever way to allow fans the chance to see the Winchesters face some of the more popular villains again and I can’t wait to see who else shows up!

2

“Did you fix it?”

As a reminder, a bullet did hit Sam in the fight against Chuck/God during the season 14 finale, but it looks like there is something strange going on with the wound.  It has no exit and Castiel tries to heal him, but explains that there is some kind of energy he has never felt before surrounding it.  What exactly does this mean for Sam’s fate?  We’ll have to wait and see, but I’m hoping that they can figure out a way to heal him soon.  We need you, Sam!

1

“You and me vs. every soul in hell.  I like those odds.”

Toward the end of the episode, Dean feels frustrated and asks Sam what it all meant, feeling almost like a rat trapped in Chuck’s maze.  Sam reminds him that they saved so many people and that it did matter.  Dean doesn’t seem completely convinced, but Sam also explains that Chuck/God is gone and that “it’s just us.”

After they figure out everything and stop the newest apocalypse, they are basically free.  Dean is on board and they say that they have work to do, but it will definitely be interesting to see where their last journey leads them.

Will the Winchesters be able to earn true freedom or is this the end of the road for them?  It will be a bitter sweet ending for sure and I’m not sure that I’m ready to say goodbye just yet, but I’m looking forward to exploring the road ahead and I can’t wait to see what happens next.  Stay tuned SPN family!
