Spoiler-Free Review of “The Strangers: Chapter 2” in Theaters: A Vast Improvement Over Chapter 1

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“Is Tamara here?”

The Strangers: Chapter 2 released in theaters on September 26th 2025. The slasher horror film stars Madelaine Petsch, Rachel Shenton, Gabriel Basso, and Ema Horvath. It runs for approximately an hour and thirty-five minutes.

Picking up right after the events of Chapter 1, Maya wakes up in the hospital after surviving a brutal attack, but soon realizes that she’s not out of the woods just yet.

Here is the trailer:

The Strangers: Chapter 2 manages to take a step in the right direction, giving us some solid chase scenes and actual answers. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Madelaine Petsch killed it!

Wow, she was FANTASTIC in this! I’m not just saying that because I’m a huge fan of hers from Riverdale. She was bad-ass and I thought her acting was on point. I’d love to see her in more horror movies. She really elevated this film in so many ways.

One extended chase scene!

Chapter 2 skipped the fluff and got right to the point. The movie felt like an extra long chase scene featuring our girl and I loved every second of it! It’s no secret that I love simple formulas like this with a resourceful female lead trying to survive against all odds while out in the middle of nowhere. This film DELIVERED on that. There were several scenes that actually felt suspenseful here.

Chapter 1 was such a disappointment because it really didn’t stray from the original film at all. At least in Chapter 2, we did something new here.

We also got some answers that I was looking for since the original film so I was happy about that.

I’m actually somewhat excited to see Chapter 3 now.

I’m seeing some horrible reviews for this film going around, but I went into this one with extremely low expectations after Chapter 1 and can honestly say that I enjoyed my watch here.

Is this the best film I’ve ever seen? Absolutely not…but I think Chapter 2 was SOLID!

The Cons:

The flashbacks slowed things down a little bit…

I was happy with the final flashback, but some of the earlier ones impacted the overall pacing of the film a little bit. The random killings always made the concept of The Strangers so terrifying to me. There was never any reason, which is frightening to think about.

The flashbacks took away from that slightly, but the final one delivered so I have mixed thoughts on this.

There was also one random scene in the middle of the woods that seemed far-fetched and a little too out there for me, but I guess they were trying to throw whatever they had at our girl. It did seem silly and unnecessary though…

So am I in or out?

I’m in!!!

The Strangers: Chapter 2 takes a much needed turn in the right direction. Madelaine Petsch CARRIED this film on her back and delivered!

Bring on chapter 3!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Night Agent” Season 2 on Netflix: Just as Intense as Season 1!

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“Where are you?”

The Night Agent season 2 premiered on Netflix on January 23rd 2025 with ten episodes available to stream now. The action-thriller series stars Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Amanda Warren, Arienne Mandi, Berto Colon, and Keon Alexander. Each episode runs for approximately 48-55 minutes.

Here is the trailer:

The Night Agent was one of my favorite shows of 2023, but does season 2 measure up to the first season? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Starts off with plenty of action once again!

Season 1 pulled me in immediately and I was worried that we may have to deal with some excessive set-up and fluff in season 2, but I was wrong. Season 2 began with just as much action and suspense, reeling me back into this world once again effortlessly. I loved the fight scenes in this one.

If you’re looking for an adrenaline-filled thrill ride with season 2, you’ll be pleased to know that it absolutely delivers in this department!

Our favorite duo is back and better than ever!

Peter and Rose were fantastic to watch in season 1 and had so much chemistry. I was worried about how much of a role Rose would play in season 2, but she stepped up to the plate and delivered! The scenes between them were great, but I also really loved how they both excelled on their own, proving their worth individually.

The new characters were great as well. We had some terrific allies and some dangerous foes in the mix. Everyone kept me guessing!

Too much time spent on time jumps and side plots.

I thought all of the side plots were interesting enough (especially Noor’s), but I think we spent too much time with other plots and flashbacks, which took away from the core story-line. This wasn’t a major con, but it slowed down the momentum slightly in certain episodes.

So am I in or out?

I’m in 1000 percent!!!!!!

The Night Agent season 2 is an addicting and adrenaline-filled watch that manages to match the intensity of season 1!

Season 2 had plenty of shocking and edge-of-your-seat moments to be excited about! Bring on season 3!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Trigger Warning” on Netflix: Jessica Alba Gives it Her All…

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“I can’t stay…”

Trigger Warning premiered on Netflix on June 21st 2024. The action thriller film stars Jessica Alba, Mark Webber, Gabriel Basso, Tone Bell, Jake Weary, and Anthony Michael Hall. It runs for an hour and forty-five minutes.

After returning to her hometown after the news of her father’s death, a special forces commando suspects that a violent local gang may be responsible.

Here is the trailer:

Trigger Warning is a familiar thriller by the numbers, but Jessica Alba tries her best to elevate it as much as she can. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Jessica Alba kicks ass!

OK, she’s the main reason why I tuned into this one and she was absolutely bad-ass. She didn’t just elevate this film…she CARRIED it. It was a lot of fun seeing her on the screen again and I hope she gets the chance to star in more action thrillers, because this is where she shines.

Can we also talk about how she hasn’t aged a day? I feel like I’m watching Dark Angel right now!

There were some cool fight scenes and some decent action as well, but don’t expect anything that new or exciting here…

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Netflix

Slow moving at times with painful dialogue.

I prefer fast-paced action thrillers and while this film had enough of these moments sprinkled in, it also felt really slow at times. Jessica Alba was fantastic, but some of the dialogue was cringe-worthy. Everything also felt very safe and predictable. I was hoping for a bit more here. I’m all for B movie action thrillers with a female lead, but I just wanted this film to break out into something truly raw and brutal.

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in about 75 percent…

Trigger Warning is very much a “movie of the week” action thriller.

If you’re looking for a quick weekend watch, there is enough here and Jessica Alba is absolutely worth the watch. I just wanted some more substance.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Trigger Warning in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Night Agent” on Netflix: Non-Stop Action Thrill Ride!

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“You reached the wrong number…”

The Night Agent premiered on Netflix on March 23rd 2023 with ten episodes available to stream now. The action-thriller series stars Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Hong Chau, Sarah Desjardins, Eve Harlow, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and D.B. Woodside. Each episode runs for approximately 48-55 minutes.

An FBI agent answers an emergency line that rarely rings when a woman calls in distress as he quickly finds himself involved in a deadly conspiracy.

Here is the trailer:

The Night Agent is the perfect show for fans of 24 and Homeland, making this an addicting and consuming watch. Does it live up to the hype? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Netflix

Starts off with a bang…

Literally! And it never slows down at all. It’s not easy to nail a premiere episode and yet this series did so with perfection. There was so much action in it and it never lost momentum as the episodes continued. Wow!

This is not my usual type of series, but once I started, I couldn’t stop watching it. It really reels you in and monopolizes your time in the best way possible!

Each episode did just enough at the end to make your head spin with fantastic twists and reveals, great chemistry between characters, and plenty of shocking moments filled with entertaining action.

What else could I ask for?

Images courtesy of Netflix

Fantastic characters to root for!

Our main leads were incredible. I really liked both of them and enjoyed the dynamic between them. It took a little while for us to unpack their layers, but we did get to that point, which I appreciated.

The supporting characters were great too since there were plenty of sub-plots in this one. I loved the villains and I even found myself rooting for characters that seemed slightly unnecessary or annoying in the beginning. Every single character played a pivotal role and added to this series.

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Netflix

Forced dialogue at first…

Even though there was plenty of action and thrilling moments to enjoy right away, it took me a little while to appreciate everything else going on. I think this was mostly because some of the initial dialogue felt a little too scripted and forced. The actors did the best with what they were given and this greatly improved as the episodes continued, but I did notice it.

This wasn’t a major con and it never impacted my watch. I think the series was just finding its way and luckily it got there!

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in 1000 percent!!!!!!

The Night Agent is one of the most well-paced and exciting shows I have watched in a long time, making it a binge-watcher’s dream and then some!

My favorite series of the year so far!

I’m so excited that this series has already been confirmed for season two and I can’t to see what’s next for The Night Agent!

I highly recommend this series even if it doesn’t seem like your type of show. It’s worth it so I’d give it a chance!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Night Agent in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
