Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 8: “Act Normal Bitches”

Greetings TV fans!  After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 8, I learned that you may think that you’re “in the circle, but you’ll never be in the circle.”  But being an outsider can be a dangerous thing, especially when everyone is a suspect.  So do you keep your friends close and your enemies closer or do you maintain your distance?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In Wednesday night’s episode, “Hook, Line and Booker,” romance is in the air, as Alison and Mona contemplate potential new relationships.  Meanwhile, Ava has some memories about her and Nolan and Caitlin begins to worry about Jeremy’s loyalty.  My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 8 are:

5

“Isn’t it funny how sometimes we become the thing that we hate?”

In this episode, Mona and Dana Booker continue to clash, as Mona sits down during a teachers’ mixer to get to know Dana a little better.  While Mona plays the game to perfection and asks the appropriate questions, Dana cuts right to the chase and starts asking Mona more about Alison and Nolan’s murder, proving that she has no time for chit-chat.  Mona doesn’t waver; however, as she continues to hold her ground, putting Dana in her place, but it’s only a matter of time before the gloves come off between these two.  My money is on Mona!

4

“Thank you for the dance…”

During the teachers’ mixer, Alison meets a language professor named Gabriel and the two of them seem to hit it off right away.  Alison even gets a private dance lesson with him and shows off some of her Dancing with the Stars skills.  See you’re not out of practice!  It seems like romance is in the air, but Alison learns that Gabriel has an open relationship with his wife and she is not about to get mixed up in any drama right now.  I have to say that I was really proud of Alison in this moment.  She is still clearly hurting over her divorce with Emily, but she makes the right decision here and walks away.  Plus, I’m sensing some major sparks between her and Taylor Hotchkiss…

3

“Nothing makes me happier than to see you happy.”

Ava continues to grow closer to Zach in this episode, but this brings up memories of Nolan, which initially makes her sad.  We see a sweet moment between Nolan and Ava on Christmas morning, revealing that perhaps he did have a good side after all.  Ava later remembers Nolan telling her that her being happy makes him happy and decides to move forward with Zach.  I’m not sure if they are end game or not, but it’s nice to see Ava smiling for once and she does have a terrific laugh.

2

“I can’t stop thinking about you…”

Now that Bad Bishop’s identity has been revealed, Mona realizes that they are not just playing chess anymore.  Mona makes the decision to walk away from Mason, as she is an advisor at the school, which makes things more than complicated.  However, Mason later knocks on her door and tells her that he can’t stop thinking about her, which leads to a passionate moment between these two.  I have to say that I think these two are really cute together and I would love to see Mona happy for once, but could Dana Booker use this against her if she finds out?  Watch your back, Mona.

1

“You shouldn’t have followed me…”

My major theory has been that Caitlin’s boyfriend, Jeremy, is perhaps the threat everyone has been so worried about and it seems like things may be leaning in that direction now.  Caitlin follows Jeremy and sees him disposing something, but she’s too far away to really get a good look.  Either way, there is something suspicious going on here, but Jeremy discovers Caitlin before she can walk away.  Jeremy tells her to get in the car, but what does this mean?  Has Caitlin just stumbled upon something dangerous?  It’s clear that Jeremy is up to no good, but let’s hope that Alison, Mona, and the rest of the gang can track her down before it’s too late.  Stay tuned!

“Dancing with the Stars” winners revealed: Your vote mattered! Spoilers ahead.

Happy Winning Wednesday TV Fans!  I am in the spirit of winning after last night’s finale of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  A few weeks back, I predicted the top 3 and I am very excited that I got that correct, just a little out of order. 🙂 But that’s what is so great about this show.  You may think you know who the winner is or you may think the judges and audience is going in another direction, but it’s anyone’s game really.

For the first time in a while, I was truly invested in who won and I even found myself scrounging up my ABC account so that I could cast my 5 votes.  Through several efforts at remembering my password and going through about a million confirmation emails, I was on and ready to vote!  What was really great about last night’s show, is that they allowed the viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones to case votes after the traditional 24 hour fusion dance which I thought was another way to get the audience and voter really involved in the process.  In years past, they just combined the judges’ scores into the overall vote, which made the voter feel not as important in my opinion.  We only got 5 minutes to vote during the last commercial break and I found myself refreshing the DWTS voting page like an insane person, but it added to the suspense and fun of the show.  This was a great idea.

Although my personal favorites, Frankie and Witney did not win, they ended up in third place and provided the audience with entertainment and magic.  Judge, Len Goodman got it right when he said that although Frankie “may not have been the judges’ champion, he was the people’s champion.”  I’ve stated previously that Frankie was not the best dancer by far, however; he improved so much and displayed so much heart and joy when he danced, which is what the show is all about.  I am very excited to know that Frankie will also be going on tour with Jordan and the DWTS dancers which makes me want to reserve my tickets now!

Lindsey and Mark came up short in 2nd place, but I was inspired by her package, which I typically find myself fast-forwarding through.  They even showed a previous clip when America’s Got Talent told her the act was too different and passed on her.  This inspired her to not give up and to continue to pursue her talent and dreams which did pay off in the end.  Talk about an inspiration for everyone watching.  Lindsey’s fluidity and graceful abilities didn’t earn her the mirror ball, but I was impressed with her performances and her humility.

So our winners are…Jordan and Lindsay!  I had mentioned a few weeks back that Jordan was the best celebrity dancer on the show and perhaps one of the best dancers of all time.  Although his technique and high performance level did not really transform for me like the other celebs, his connection with his partner, Lindsay did grow and I think that is one of the main reasons why he won.  He spoke about how much she has helped him with his own performance, not even just with dance, but in everything he does as a creator and artist and I thought that was really wonderful to hear.  I am a big fan of Lindsay ever since she debuted on So You Think You Can Dance and was thrilled for her to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.  Congrats Jordan and Lindsay!  I am sad to take a break from the show, but am looking forward to see who the contestants will be in the spring.

Do you agree with the winners?  Feel free to post your thoughts and comments below.  Happy viewing!

“Dancing with the Stars” predictions: spoilers ahead!

Being the best at something means you should typically win first place or at least come close, right?  This is not necessarily the case on this season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, however.  Take Jordan and Lindsay, for instance.  Jordan’s lines matched almost evenly with the professional dancers and judge, Len Goodman still insisted that he deduct a point because of the extra movement he did with his hand a few weeks back.  So if being the best dancer is not the way to get to the finale, then how can a couple achieve this?

Frankie and Whitney may have figured it out and are real possible winners of the show.  Is Frankie the best dancer?  Absolutely not.  But that doesn’t matter.  After watching each season, I’ve come to realize it’s more about the dancers with little or no experience who truly blossom and grow throughout the show only to become more confident and better technically.  Even though Jordan and Lindsay’s performances were pretty much flawless in my eyes, I was more entertained by Frankie and Whitney.  The addition of Alfonso in the trio dance was just what the couple needed to inch ahead.  Entertainment can go a long way and you would be surprised how much a genuine smile can truly brighten up the dance floor.  So if you think you have the winners pretty much figured out this season, you may want to think twice.

Who will win it all?  It’s not certain yet, but Frankie and Whitney are definitely headed in the right direction.  My predictions are that Frankie and Whitney will come in first with Jordan and Lindsay in a close second.  Third place is a little trickier, however.  I’m going with Lindsey and Mark for now, but don’t count out Victoria and Val just yet.  Also, Drew and Emma might sneak in there.  While I feel they should go home next, he has a strong fan base and could creep into the finale.

Best,
