Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 8: “Act Normal Bitches”

Greetings TV fans!  After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 8, I learned that you may think that you’re “in the circle, but you’ll never be in the circle.”  But being an outsider can be a dangerous thing, especially when everyone is a suspect.  So do you keep your friends close and your enemies closer or do you maintain your distance?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In Wednesday night’s episode, “Hook, Line and Booker,” romance is in the air, as Alison and Mona contemplate potential new relationships.  Meanwhile, Ava has some memories about her and Nolan and Caitlin begins to worry about Jeremy’s loyalty.  My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 8 are:

5

“Isn’t it funny how sometimes we become the thing that we hate?”

In this episode, Mona and Dana Booker continue to clash, as Mona sits down during a teachers’ mixer to get to know Dana a little better.  While Mona plays the game to perfection and asks the appropriate questions, Dana cuts right to the chase and starts asking Mona more about Alison and Nolan’s murder, proving that she has no time for chit-chat.  Mona doesn’t waver; however, as she continues to hold her ground, putting Dana in her place, but it’s only a matter of time before the gloves come off between these two.  My money is on Mona!

4

“Thank you for the dance…”

During the teachers’ mixer, Alison meets a language professor named Gabriel and the two of them seem to hit it off right away.  Alison even gets a private dance lesson with him and shows off some of her Dancing with the Stars skills.  See you’re not out of practice!  It seems like romance is in the air, but Alison learns that Gabriel has an open relationship with his wife and she is not about to get mixed up in any drama right now.  I have to say that I was really proud of Alison in this moment.  She is still clearly hurting over her divorce with Emily, but she makes the right decision here and walks away.  Plus, I’m sensing some major sparks between her and Taylor Hotchkiss…

3

“Nothing makes me happier than to see you happy.”

Ava continues to grow closer to Zach in this episode, but this brings up memories of Nolan, which initially makes her sad.  We see a sweet moment between Nolan and Ava on Christmas morning, revealing that perhaps he did have a good side after all.  Ava later remembers Nolan telling her that her being happy makes him happy and decides to move forward with Zach.  I’m not sure if they are end game or not, but it’s nice to see Ava smiling for once and she does have a terrific laugh.

2

“I can’t stop thinking about you…”

Now that Bad Bishop’s identity has been revealed, Mona realizes that they are not just playing chess anymore.  Mona makes the decision to walk away from Mason, as she is an advisor at the school, which makes things more than complicated.  However, Mason later knocks on her door and tells her that he can’t stop thinking about her, which leads to a passionate moment between these two.  I have to say that I think these two are really cute together and I would love to see Mona happy for once, but could Dana Booker use this against her if she finds out?  Watch your back, Mona.

1

“You shouldn’t have followed me…”

My major theory has been that Caitlin’s boyfriend, Jeremy, is perhaps the threat everyone has been so worried about and it seems like things may be leaning in that direction now.  Caitlin follows Jeremy and sees him disposing something, but she’s too far away to really get a good look.  Either way, there is something suspicious going on here, but Jeremy discovers Caitlin before she can walk away.  Jeremy tells her to get in the car, but what does this mean?  Has Caitlin just stumbled upon something dangerous?  It’s clear that Jeremy is up to no good, but let’s hope that Alison, Mona, and the rest of the gang can track her down before it’s too late.  Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 7: “She’s not an A”

Greetings TV fans!  After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 7, I learned that “you can’t will someone to be trustworthy,” but “if you’re honest, there are no wrong answers” when it comes to who you are.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In Wednesday night’s episode, “Dead Week,” Mona realizes that she is now a major player in the game, but is she ready to play?  Meanwhile, Alison comes clean with the group about Taylor and tries to get through to her.  My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 7 are:

5

“I wanted you to hear it from me first.”

In the beginning of the episode, Alison lets the group know that Taylor is really alive.  She knows that this news is about to be broadcasted all over the place and she thinks it is important to share it with Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan first.  She explains that Nolan knew and that he was trying to keep them safe.  We know that Taylor was running away from someone who was threatening her, so is the same person now threatening Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan?  We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but the cat is finally out of the bag and Taylor is now out in the open.  But can she truly be trusted?

4

“He only hates you because he loves you.”

Dylan continues to try and win back Andrew’s affection in this episode, but Andrew has made it clear that he needs some time after learning about Dylan’s secret past with Nolan.  Andrew finally comes around at the end of the episode and the two of them have a sweet moment together, as they slow dance.  It looks like the two of them are home now, but they make it clear that there will be no more secrets between them, but we know that the drama is nowhere near over.  Will Andrew be able to fully support Dylan?

3

“I know who this is!”

So I’ve been wondering who Bad Bishop is for quite some time and our girl Mona finally figures it out after Bad Bishop says that “chess is the art of math.”  Mona remembers that Mason said something similar about playing piano during their counseling session and she confronts him.  Mason admits to being Bad Bishop and asks what comes next and Mona says, “Start a new game,” as their conversation is interrupted when Nolan’s identification card is used somewhere, luring Mona away.  Now that we know that Mason is Bad Bishop, what does this mean for Mona?  Is this a new potential romance for her or a good friend?  We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like Mason has been cleared of any involvement in Nolan’s murder, but let’s hope that he has good intentions for Mona.

2

“So reinvent yourself and follow through.”

I love the growing friendship between Alison and Mona on this spin-off and they have another truly significant moment together.  Alison has been feeling torn over Taylor, recognizing the connection here.  She has been trying to balance her life and make time for her family while also making a difference in the lives of her students, but she is feeling slightly defeated.  Mona gives her a pep talk and tells her to follow through on starting over so that Alison can truly get her fresh start.  I think that Mona and Alison have a great dynamic and they make a terrific tag team.  Let’s just hope they can bring this new “A” down before it’s too late!

1

“Let’s take this bitch down.”

After Mona gets an interesting set of cupcakes featuring a creepy message asking:  “Can we be pals?” she realizes that she has just become a major player in the new A’s game.  Mona realizes that whoever broke into her apartment and left the cupcakes has Nolan’s ID card and she is determined to get to the bottom of this.  After tracking the ID card to Dana Booker, Mona realizes that she is going to need someone on the inside as well and she tells Alison, “I refuse to be a doll.”  Mona is ready to take on whoever she needs to and I think Dana Booker better watch her back.  She may be clever, but there is no one like our girl, Mona.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 6: “So you think the dead girl should live again?”

Greetings TV fans!  After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 6, I remembered why I fell in love with Pretty Little Liars in the first place.  The twists keep coming and even when you think you may have figured out one part, there are that many more pieces of the puzzle left to discover.  The spin-off has now caught up to the original, as I found myself completely immersed in the mystery, wanting to know more and more!  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In last night’s episode, “Lost and Found,” Alison tries to track down Taylor after she sneaks out of her house with Mona’s help.  Meanwhile, Caitlin’s fate is revealed and Ava and Dylan team up to try and find Mason’s phone.  My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 6 are:

5

“We’re here to support our friend…no matter what.”

In the beginning of the episode, we learn that Caitlin is in surgery and she ends up pulling through.  Phew!  The bond between her, Ava, and Dylan is that much stronger now, as they realize how important it is to stick together, especially when Dana Booker is lurking around and causing trouble.  Throughout the episode, Caitlin has to deal with her own fair share of drama with her mother, as she makes the decision to continue lying for her about the affair, but is this the right call?  Caitlin wants to do what is right for her family, but look where her secrets have gotten her so far.

4

“So you think the dead girl should live again?”

After doing some investigation work of her own, Alison realizes that Taylor must be hiding out at the cemetery and she is right.  Alison understands what Taylor is going through because she went through something very similar in her own past.  Alison explains that “hiding in the shadows makes you an easy target” and encourages Taylor to come forward.  Alison brings Taylor to her mother, Claire, but what will happen once everyone finds out that she faked her own death?  Taylor has been hiding from a threat, but has it gone away or will this only make everything worse for her?

3

“Play again?”

Mona keeps chatting with Bad Bishop, who claims that something came up when they were supposed to meet.  Mona continues to play with Bad Bishop, but when are we going to meet this player face-to-face?  Mona begins to uncover some interesting things as well in Taylor’s trailer, as she finds a secret drawer that leads her to Beacon Guard.  Mona realizes that the program can track where people are, but it also mentions someone named BH4.  So “who the hell is BH4?”  I’m not sure, but is Mona now in danger for discovering this?  Mona is an excellent player at any game, but she may have just opened the door to something very dangerous.  Perhaps the same person who was after Taylor may be after her next?  We’ll have to wait to find out.

2

“Sometimes the most beautiful things can come from the ugliest places.”

While Ava and Dylan try to track down Mason’s phone, Ava’s fashion show is going on, which is very important to her.  When Ava and Dylan return, they are covered in sewage, which doesn’t really make the best impression, especially since someone from Vogue is there to scout out Ava’s talent.  However, Ava turns it around and embraces it.  She walks out with confidence and talks about how she previously used to try to make everything perfect, but that our imperfections make us truly beautiful and that we can’t always be perfect and clean and that we shouldn’t have to be.  Ava’s speech makes a great impression and it looks like the fashion show was a success.  I thought this was a really great moment for Ava and so far, I am liking her the most out of the new characters on the show.

1

“Whatever it takes.”

Even though there was a lot of drama going on during the fashion show, the real drama took place when Ava and Dylan tried to track down Mason’s phone.  Ava ends up pulled into the sewer by something…or someone, bringing me back to the movie, It.  Someone dressed in a pig costume is behind it, but we don’t get to see the man or woman behind the mask.  Dylan helps Ava get out of there and they run right into Dana Booker.  It seems like Dana is popping up all over the place and she has just become their new suspect since Mason has been ruled out because of his alibi.  Is this too obvious still, however?

While Dana Booker is certainly a pest right now, I’m still leaning toward Caitlin’s boyfriend, Jeremy.  I just don’t trust him.  Either way, the mystery is not even close to being over, as the Beacon Guard program shows that dead Nolan is somehow in Mona’s apartment?  Who is actually there and is our main suspect the master mind behind Beacon Guard?   I’m not sure, but let’s take a look at some of our suspects so far:

Claire Hotchkiss:  She may not have killed her son, but I don’t trust her for one second.  She seems to be very powerful and could be behind Beacon Guard.

Andrew:  Caitlin’s boyfriend, who definitely has the skills to pull this off.  Is he working for Claire or does he have another motive?

Dana Booker:  Why is Dana so focused on bringing down Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan?  Is there something of her own that she is hiding as well?

Mason:  He may have been cleared with his alibi, but he’s not really innocent either.

Bad Bishop:  Who is Bad Bishop and could he or she link us to the real suspect?

Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 5: “You Are My Beautiful Dreamer”

Greetings TV fans!  After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 5, we were reminded that you can’t be friends with people you can never trust.  But what happens when you are all brought together by tragedy?  Is it better to stick together or should you continue to go your own separate way?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In last night’s episode, “The Patchwork Girl,” Alison comes face to face with Taylor Hotchkiss.  Meanwhile, Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan come up with a plan to find out more from Mason and Mona reminds Dana Booker that research goes both ways.  My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists  season 1 episode 5 are:

5

“My cloak of invisibility.”

In this episode, Mona comes face to face with Ray Hogadorn.  Ray is an interesting character for sure and seems to really have a thing for peanut brittle.  He reveals that he does know quite a bit and has been watching from afar, telling Mona that the list on the program could be a list of suspects or something to connect the dots, but what are the dots exactly?  Ray has been on campus for a long time and also mentions a girl he was in love with named Angela and says that she died tragically by jumping off a bridge.  He says he shared this story with Taylor and fears that it may have inspired her to do the very same thing, but also thinks that she could be alive as well.

We know that Ray was definitely not Nolan’s biggest fan, but he seems to be very forthcoming with Mona.  Does he recognize that they want the same thing or is he hiding something?  We know that Ray is the one who left Taylor the message on the wall about them watching her, but what else does Ray know and can he be truly trusted?

4

“It’s a funny thing about research.  It goes both ways.”

Dana Booker tries to have a sit down talk with Mona and claims that she knows quite a lot about her past in Rosewood.  However, Mona is not easily scared and tells Dana that she knows about her making connections that aren’t there and how she got kicked out of the FBI.  Dana Booker may be dangerous, but Mona will win hands down so she better watch her back!  We also learn that Mona was waiting for her online chess partner, Bad Bishop, but he or she never showed.  I’m still interested to find out more about this person.

3

“I’m not that easy to fool.”

Ava continues to get hidden messages and thinks her father is trying to contact her.  Ava finds a note that reads:

Dreamer,

It’s time to go. Make sure you’re not followed. No one can know.

45’ 35” 59” N

122’ 48’ 07’ W

Ava grabs a bag full of cash and makes her way out to the coordinates, but runs into Dana Booker, who is the one responsible for leaving the messages.  Dana is proving to be a formidable opponent, but Ava outsmarts her.  She left the money in the car just in case and this was the right call.  Even though Dana can play the game however she wants, our new characters are proving to be quite impressive, but I did feel bad for Ava here, as she clearly wants to reconnect with her father more than anything else in the world.

2

“We don’t just look alike.  We think alike.”

After tracking down Taylor, Alison refuses to give up until she gets some answers.  Taylor initially tells Alison to get out of her house, but Alison persists and asks her:  “What are you afraid of?”  Taylor explains that someone tried to kill her, but also says that her mother brought Alison here to find her.  Alison tries to tell Taylor that her mother is very worried about her, but Taylor doesn’t want to talk to her, which makes me continue to suspect Claire.  She may not be behind the murder of her own son, but Taylor is clearly very afraid and her mother may have something to do with whoever was watching her.  Alison tries to bring Taylor home so that she feels safe, but she ends up leaving.  Will Alison be able to connect the dots here?  Let’s hope so!

1

“And then this nightmare will finally end…”

Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan seem like they may be going their separate ways after more secrets are revealed.  Ava finds out that Dylan had an affair with Nolan and Caitlin was the one responsible for information leaking on Ava’s father.  Before the secrets begin to tear them apart, they come up with a simple plan to find out exactly what Mason knows and to see if he is the one behind everything.  However, a simple plan becomes way more complicated when it involves kidnapping and drugging someone.  After the three characters have a fight, they begin to do things their own way, but quickly learn that they need each other.  Just as they all try to come together to help, Caitlin is struck by a car and we do not know her fate just yet.

We know that after Caitlin hit Mason over the head, he did wake up, so was he the driver behind the wheel or is there someone else watching them?  We also know that Claire was angry at Caitlin for lying to her so could she be the mysterious driver?  We’ll have to wait and see, but things are continuing to spiral out of control for our characters and hopefully Alison and Mona will be able to save the day before it’s too late.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 2: “Sex, Lies, and Alibis”

Greetings TV fans!  After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists season 1 episode 2, I realized that it’s important to stay true to who you are.  You may want to change some of your past evil ways, but that doesn’t mean that you should let people walk all over you.  The new head of security may be the bitch, but our girl Alison is the Queen Bee for sure!  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In last night’s episode, “Sex, Lies, and Alibis,” Nolan’s death is officially ruled a murder and everyone is a suspect.  Meanwhile, Alison receives a disturbing text message and Mona channels her inner crazy to get to the bottom of things.  My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists  season 1 episode 2 are:

5

“It’s OK if you’re relieved he’s dead.”

While coping with the shock of Nolan’s death, Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan realize that they are in a lot of trouble.  Their conversation comes true, as Nolan dies exactly the way they described, which means that they are all suspects.  But if they are not to blame, that means that someone else was in the woods, listening to this very same conversation.  Each character has a secret, but will Nolan’s death split them apart or bring them closer together?  If there was someone else in the woods, who was it and what is their next move?  We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but it doesn’t look like anyone is in the clear.

4

“I literally just got that text…from the dead guy.”

Alison receives a text message from Nolan’s phone after he died and is immediately in panic mode.  Alison goes to visit Mona for help and Mona points out that someone wants to make it look like Alison killed Nolan.  Mona determines that the text message was sent during a power outage, which explains the delay, but this still doesn’t make Alison look that innocent.  Was the text sent from Nolan and what help did he require?  Is it possible that the killer used Nolan’s phone to lure Alison out?  There are so many questions here, but I am completely immersed into this mystery and I’m absolutely loving it so far.

3

“I’m the reason he’s dead.”

When Alison goes to Mona for help, she is showing off her impressive, but crazy skills, as she writes down everything, trying to get to the bottom of the mystery.  Mona could give Homeland’s Carrie Mathison a run for her money here, as she becomes obsessed with figuring everything out.  Alison ends up hitting Mona in the face to snap her back to reality and it actually works, as Mona is happy to see some Key Lime pie, which is her favorite!  Mona gives Alison some great advice and asks her, “When did you become such a wuss?”  I love that Mona is not afraid to tell it as it is and Alison needs to hear this from her.  We know that Alison is looking for her fresh start and wants to do good, but that does not mean that she needs to get stepped on in the process.  We still don’t know much about Mona’s potential connection to the FBI or some other kind of secret service, but I’m sure we will find out more soon.

2

“Spencer and Toby eloped?”

So I absolutely love that this new series is finding a voice of its very own, but it also stays true to its roots.  Alison casually name drops A and we also get to witness Mona calling Hanna from Pretty Little Liars and we discover that Spencer and Toby eloped, which had me cheering and possibly squealing with joy.  I thought that this was a very clever way to keep PLL fans satisfied with new information while keeping the new story going.  We also get to see the new characters show up at Nolan’s funeral, giving me a sense of PLL nostalgia for sure.  Well done!

1

“Bring it on bitch.”

At the funeral, we get to meet Dana Booker, who is a former FBI agent and the new head of security.  She has a connection to Ava, as she previously worked on her father’s case.  Coincidence?  We already established that there are no coincidences here.  Dana is taking her job very seriously, but Ava asks an important question:  “Why leave the FBI to become a school cop?”  Ava may be the unlikely voice of reason here, as I was thinking the very same thing.  Dana may have a past here or she could be connected to Taylor’s message on the wall somehow, but it looks like she is going to be a major pest.

Later on in the episode, Nolan’s mother is waiting for Alison in her house, which is kind of creepy.  Alison understands that this was previously her daughter’s house and has a revealing conversation with her.  Claire tells Alison that she is a survivor and perhaps this is exactly what Alison needed to hear.  After Dana interrupts Alison’s lecture to pull Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan out of class, Alison lies and says that they were all at her house the night of the murder.  Alison clearly wants to make a difference with her students and understands what it means to be caught up in all the drama, but did she make the right call here?  We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like Queen Alison is back, so Dana better watch out.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Pretty Little Liars:  The Perfectionists in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
