“It’s coming for me…”

The Cycle premiered on Shudder on October 23rd 2026. The supernatural creature horror film stars Deborah Ann Woll, Jeffrey Donovan, Will Hochman, and Gretchen Corbett. It runs for approximately an hour and fifty-two minutes.

A forensic anthropologist is contacted when her father’s body is found at a crime scene involving a bizarre case after he had disappeared 36 years ago.

Here is the trailer:

The Cycle is dark and gruesome with fantastic effects and plenty of tense moments. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

All hail Scream Queen, Deborah Ann Woll.

I’ll be honest…she is the main reason why I tuned into this movie and she delivered! Deborah Ann Woll is such a fantastic actress and I thought she was so great in this. She played her part very well and embraced her character’s layers while giving us tons of bad-ass moments. I hope to see her in more horror films soon.

Insane make-up effects!

Give the make-up department all the awards. I was so impressed by the details in this film. It honestly had some of the best make-up effects I have seen in a while. The effects really elevated this film in a lot of ways. It had such a chilling and creepy tone that was perfectly complimented by the gruesome scenes that transpired along the way.

The Cons:

Takes a little while to get going.

The first half of this film had a sluggish feel to it. It still held my attention, but I was waiting for something to happen. However, it does kick into high gear during the second half so definitely stay tuned in. The second half was bloody fantastic but I think this could have been a little bit shorter to even out the pacing.

So am I in or out?

I’m in!!!

(3.5 out of 5 stars)

THE CYCLE is a terrifying and jaw-dropping watch that is absolutely worth your time.

I wasn’t expecting a lot from this at first glance, but it surprised me in the best possible way.
