*This is a spoiler-free review for season two so feel free to read on!*

“In this life or the next…”

Warrior Nun season two premiered on Netflix on November 10th 2022 with all eight episodes available to stream now. The fantasy-action series stars Alba Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Toya Turner, and Lorena Andrea. Each episode runs for approximately 42-50 minutes.

Ava and Beatrice return to bring down a self-proclaimed prophet as they wind up caught in another battle between good and evil.

Here is the trailer:

Warrior Nun season two is jam-packed with action, making this a solid season to indulge in. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Our chosen one is a lot more sure of herself this time around…

Sure, the annoying voice-over narration is still there, but I think that season two did a much better job of fleshing out Ava’s character. There was a lot of indecision and some whiny complaints in the first season that rubbed me the wrong way. Season two gives Ava a much better journey and I liked her character a lot more because of it.

Better pacing for season two.

Even though I enjoyed season one, many parts dragged and the pacing needed some serious work. Well, season two improved on this drastically. It was fast-paced and filled with bloody action scenes that were truly fantastic. The character dynamics were better as well and the series put forth an interesting mix of religious and scientific components to give us an intriguing plot to invest our time in.

The Cons:

Starts out in a weird way…

After that cliffhanger at the end of season one, I was expecting things to start off with a bang, but instead we got a time jump two months into the future. I didn’t get the answers I wanted and things started off a little disjointed and confusing for me personally. I definitely recommend watching the recap before you start season two because I needed a refresher to keep up.

Even though I enjoyed season two more than the first one, things still played out in a predictable way (although we did get a few fun twists).

This show is enjoyable, but I want it to do even more to stand out from some of the other fantasy shows so that it gets the attention it deserves.

So am I in or out?

I’m in about 75 percent…

This series made a lot of improvements and held my attention for the most part, but I still am looking for more of a unique spark to set it apart from other series with a similar premise. I think we can get there though!

A VACATION TO DIE FOR…

Blood Rose Island Ad

When sisters, Nina and Gemma are vacationing in Hawaii with their friends, they get invited to an exclusive party on a private island that seems too good to be true. There’s only one rulethey can’t miss their ferry at midnight or they’ll have to wait until morning to leave the island. Only they didn’t realize that breaking this rule meant they would be hunted down on the island one by one.

Who will make it off the island alive?

I hope you enjoy my new island thriller!
