“He’s back…”
Harlan Coben’s Missing You premiered on Netflix on January 1st 2025. The limited mystery thriller series features five episodes available to stream now. It stars Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer, Richard Armitage, and Ashley Walters. Each episode runs for approximately 44-46 minutes.
Detective Kat Donovan is beyond shocked when she finds her ex-fiance on a dating app…the same ex-fiance who disappeared from her life without a trace eleven years ago after her father was murdered, leading her to re-open the case to find out the truth.
Here is the trailer:
Missing You gives us another layered mystery to wrap our minds around, but does it do enough to earn a watch? Let’s find out…
The Pros:

A captivating core mystery.
We had quite a few stories to entangle in this series, but I thought the core mystery was a solid one. It did just enough to keep me coming back for more and it really kept me guessing. I didn’t see the end coming. Harlan Coben is very talented at shocking his audience with his reveals and this series was no exception.

Short and sweet.
Typically, these series are seven or eight episodes long. It was very easy to binge-watch this one in one day since it was only five episodes. This worked in the show’s favor because I really didn’t need any more unnecessary fluff. It was already jam-packed with a lot so the quick approach was effective overall.
The Cons:

Messy opening episodes.
The first two episodes were all over the place and more confusing than normal. I think the series found its way and redeemed itself with episodes 3-5, but it didn’t start off too strong, which was disappointing. It slightly took away from my overall view of the show, but I still thought there were enough entertaining and shocking moments to keep me invested.
So am I in or out?

I’m in!
Missing You does just enough to give Harlan Coben fans a compelling mystery to tackle with plenty of unpredictable moments.
This was not my favorite Harlan Coben series by far, but I still enjoyed it and was able to binge-watch it very easily.

DON’T TAKE THE JOB…

It was only supposed to be temporary…but when Olivia Crewe accepts a new position that seems too good to be true, she soon discovers that twelve other girls previously had the same job as her. Only none of them lasted for more than thirty days. No notice. Nothing…right before they mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
