Find Your Friends has its moments, leading up to a jaw-dropping conclusion. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Dug the vibe!

I’m a big fan of the girly horror genre and this film could definitely fit right in. I loved the overall vibe. As soon as I saw the trailer for this film, I knew it would be right up my alley. Girls trips gone wrong are usually a lot of fun and this one had a lot of shocking moments.

I was familiar with a lot of the cast and I thought the dynamic between the characters worked for the most part. They were very believable as friends.

The last twenty minutes were fantastic!

OK so we took a while to get there, but the payoff was worth it for me. I was pleasantly surprised by the violent gore thrown in last minute. Sure, I wanted it sooner, but if you enjoy “good for her” revenge flicks, this one delivers in that department and then some!

The Cons:

Took too long to get to the punch.

Don’t get me wrong…I liked a lot of things about this movie. That being said, there was some sluggish pacing to deal with. I was all for the party vibe in the beginning of the film, but after a while, the repetitive loud techno music became irritating. It started to gloss over the fact that the plot felt mostly filler until bad things started actually happening.

The characters were also really annoying for the most part and reminded me too much of girls I grew up with. I think that was sort of the point though so I’ll leave that alone, but I guess I was looking for one real character to root for.

I also wanted this film to dig just a little bit deeper. It had a few sprinkles of pure magic, but I needed more.

So am I in or out?

I’m in about 75 percent…

(3 out of 5 stars)

Find Your Friends is a solid addition to the girly horror genre. Think Bad Girls Club meets The Royal Hotel with a cvnty attitude leading up to blood-soaked revenge.

Scream Therapy is an entertaining horror comedy that actually delivers with some of its banter and movie references, leaning more on the comedy side of the genre. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Believable friendships.

I actually really appreciated that this film took the time to flesh this out. We didn’t get too much background on any of the characters, but you could tell that they were all close friends from their interactions. It helped me root for them that much more.

A lot of the jokes actually landed for me.

Not all of them, but I was surprised by how much I actually laughed during this one. I loved the banter and the movie references as well. It didn’t feel forced, which was really refreshing.

The Cons:

Needed to lean more into the horror side of things.

I loved the cheesy comedy and the premise of this film, but I wish it dipped a little bit more into the horror side of things. Some over-the-top gore would have been a nice touch. This film clearly had a lower budget, but this would have really sold me on it.

So am I in or out?

I’m in about 75 percent…

Scream Therapy is mindless fun!

This film was far from perfect, but it was A LOT better than I thought it would be.
