Spoiler-Free Review of “Mutiny” in Theaters: A Satisfying Jason Statham Flick!

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“We can’t trust anyone..”

Mutiny released in theaters on August 21st 2026. The action film stars Jason Statham, Annabelle Wallis, Jason Wong, and Adrian Lester. It runs for approximately an hour and thirty-five minutes.

After being framed for the murder of his boss, Cole Reed boards a cargo ship, but ends up getting caught up in something just as dangerous when a crew of thugs try to silence him and the third mate for good.

Here is the trailer:

Mutiny is filled with well-paced action and plenty of bad-ass and gruesome moments. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Awesome fight scenes!

If you are watching this film to witness Jason Statham kick some ass, you will get plenty of that per usual. This film absolutely delivered in that department. The fight scenes were bad-ass and bloody. I actually really liked the gore here even though that might not be for everyone. We got some inventive weapons used in this, which made the fight scenes feel fresh and gruesome. I was all for it! Annabelle Wallis did a solid job here too!

Understood the assignment.

I love Jason Statham films. I need them to be just around 90 minutes (which this was) and get right to the action with minimal set-up. This film delivered in that aspect. The pacing was terrific and I never looked at the time even once. I thought the formula worked brilliantly here.

The Cons:

Nothing new here…

Look, Jason Statham is very good at playing himself in every single film and I’m perfectly OK with that. If you’re expecting something new and different here, you won’t get that. This film follows its standard Jason Statham formula and doesn’t stray far. But I really didn’t mind. If you like his movies, then you will be entertained. While not on the level of The Beekeeper, I thought this was one of his strongest films in a while since The Transporter.

So am I in or out?

I’m in!!!

(4 out of 5 stars)

Mutiny allows Jason Statham to do what he does best, delivering on some stand-out fight scenes and non-stop action. Keep making these movies and I’ll keep watching them!

Spoiler-Free Review of “A Working Man” in Theaters: Watered Down Version of Taken has its Moments

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“You didn’t see anything…”

A Working Man released in theaters on March 28th 2025. The action thriller film stars Jason Statham, Arianna Rivas, David Harbour, and Eve Mauro. It runs for approximately an hour and fifty-six minutes.

A former black ops soldier agrees to help his boss find his missing daughter after human traffickers kidnap her.

Here is the trailer:

A Working Man has some solid fight scenes and enough action in it, but does it do enough to be worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Jason Statham being Jason Statham…

If you came to see Jason Statham kick some ass, then you’ll be pleased. He plays his standard character in this one and is given enough of a layered backstory to make you root for him that much more.

I’ve seen every Jason Statham film to date (some of them horrible and some of them bad-ass). This one falls somewhere in the middle, but it was fun seeing him dominate the big screen once again.

Solid fight scenes.

I wouldn’t say that they were as brutal or bad-ass as the ones from The Beekeeper, but there were enough of them to keep me entertained. This film checks off enough boxes for a standard action thriller and it delivered in the fight sequence department.

The Cons:

Cringe-worthy dialogue and ridiculous villains…

I don’t know who came up with the dialogue for this one, but it was atrocious at times. The villains were bonkers and so silly. I couldn’t take them seriously. There were a few stand-out ones, but the majority of them were really over-the-top. I guess I wanted one worthy opponent to go up against Statham’s character and we never really got that challenge. It all just felt too easy and very by the numbers.

Also, I’m not sure when Michael Peña forgot how to act, but his crying scenes made me laugh out loud in the theater. They felt so empty and fake.

In a lot of ways, this film reminded me of Taken, but it didn’t reach that level of intensity. There were some glimmers of it, but a lot didn’t measure up.

This movie was also way too long…

So am I in or out?

I’m in about 75 percent…

A Working Man is your standard Jason Statham action flick with some worthy fight scenes to appreciate, but it doesn’t measure up to The Beekeeper.

I wouldn’t say that you need to rush to the theaters for this, but if you enjoy action movies, there’s enough here.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on A Working Man in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking my Top 10 Films of 2024: Which Movies Made The Cut?

It’s that time of year again! As we get closer and closer to approaching 2025, I thought it would be the perfect time to count down my Top 10 Films of 2024.

There are still a lot of movies that I have not seen yet, but I wanted to highlight some of my favorites of the year so far!

My Top 10 Films of 2024 are:

10

Late Night with the Devil

I went into the theater not knowing what to expect with this one and I was blown away by it. The late night show approach worked so well and I was completely captivated by the performances…and that ending…wow.

If you haven’t seen this yet, I highly recommend it. It was an absolute gem!

9

The First Omen

Image courtesy of 20th Century Studios

It’s rare for a prequel to make such a splash, but this film was original and chilling. It paid respect to its predecessor while still finding its own identity. There were so many shocking and stomach-turning moments in this. If you’re a horror fan, this is a must watch!

8

Carry-On

Die Hard meets Red Eye! This Netflix thriller checked off all the boxes for me and was such a welcomed surprise. Jason Bateman was a convincing and captivating villain worth talking about. I adore simple and fast-paced thrillers like this.

7

Don’t Move

These are my favorite kinds of thrillers! I love cat-and-mouse survival thrillers with a simple, but effective approach and a small cast. This film was so intense! My heart was racing the entire time and I was rooting for our lead until the very end.

6

Smile 2

This sequel exceeded the first film! Naomi Scott gave my favorite performance of the year. Smile 2 was creepy, shocking, and completely unnerving. I was so impressed by this film and loved Naomi Scott’s wardrobe! I’m obsessed with those white boots!

5

The Beekeeper

Jason Statham can do no wrong! He kicked ass! This was one of the first films I watched in 2024 and I’m still talking about it. It was brutal, fast-paced, and filled to the brim with amazing action. I loved every second of it!

4

Alien: Romulus

Talk about stomach-turning horror…this film had so many moments that made my skin crawl. Adrenaline-filled, terrifying, and one of the best films of the franchise! This film exceeded my expectations!

3

Deadpool & Wolverine

I had high expectations for this film and it absolutely delivered. It was fun, hilarious, and had plenty of exciting cameos. This is one of those films that you can re-watch over and over again. More please!

2

Your Monster

Every now and again, I fall completely in love with a film that moves me to tears and this was that film for 2024. Your Monster was offbeat, unique, and beyond brilliant. Melissa Barrera was fantastic and took my breath away. I’m still thinking about that jaw-dropping ending!

Honorable Mentions:

Heretic

Longlegs

Strange Darling

Oddity

Blink Twice

The Substance

Speak No Evil

Drum roll please…

I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie multiple times in the theater, but I had to keep going back for more on the big screen. This film is the definition of CINEMA for me. It had a killer cast that I will be talking about for a long time. It was so much fun and filled with bloody entertaining moments. I didn’t have to think twice about what my favorite film was for the year.

This one blew the others out of the water and is now one of my favorite horror films of all time!

I hope to see more films from 2024 soon, but I hope you enjoyed the list!

Did you have a favorite film of 2024? If so, drop it in the comments!

I wish you all a happy and healthy new year and can’t wait to review more new films in 2025! Happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Beekeeper” in Theaters: Jason Statham’s Still Got It!

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“Nobody’s untouchable…”

The Beekeeper released in theaters on January 12th 2024. The action film stars Jason Statham, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, and Jeremy Irons. It runs for approximately an hour and forty-five minutes.

A former operative for a classified organization goes on a quest for vengeance to protect “the hive” and serve justice to all responsible for repeated horrible crimes against the innocent.

Here is the trailer:

The Beekeeper is filled with non-stop action and plenty of bad-ass and brutal moments from start to finish. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios

Satisfying fight scenes!

If you are watching this film to witness Jason Statham kick some ass, you’re in for a real treat. This film absolutely delivered in that department. The fight scenes were bad-ass, bloody, and absolutely outstanding! Jason Statham hasn’t aged a day! Seriously, I loved every second of them. More please!

Doesn’t try to do too much.

If you enjoy action films like The Equalizer and Nobody, this is right up your alley. The pacing was on point and I didn’t look at the time even once. We got enough backstory in a short amount of time to understand Statham’s motives and cheer him on, but the plot wasn’t weighed down by unnecessary side-plots and deep character reveals.

Rather, it just kept things moving and presented us with a worthy action film that measured up in all categories. This is my kind of movie and I’ll definitely be re-watching this one over and over again!

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios

I want more!

I really don’t have any cons. Some of the catchphrases were a little cheesy, but who cares? I already want a sequel!

So am I in or out?

I’m in 100 percent!!!

The Beekeeper is bloody fantastic!

This film did not disappoint and exceeded my expectations!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Beekeeper in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
