“You can relax now…we’re in paradise.”
The Resort premiered on Peacock on July 28th 2022. The first three episodes are available to stream now and the remaining five will air weekly. The dark comedy thriller stars Cristin Milioti, William Jackson Harper, Debby Ryan, Skyler Gisondo, and Nina Bloomgarden. Each episode runs for approximately 35 minutes.
Emma and Noah are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary by taking a relaxing vacation together, but the trip takes an interesting turn when Emma finds an old phone connected to a mystery that happened fifteen years ago.
Here is the trailer:
The Resort is brought to us by the writer of Palm Springs and will instantly give you some of those vibes with a familiar cast and a fun mystery sprinkled in. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

Fun characters.
Milioti is absolutely charming as Emma. Her character is a little out there, but I was instantly brought into this world because of her. I also really like the team-up between her and her husband, Noah. He’s kind of dragged into the mystery unwillingly, but he adds in some welcomed humor and I believe the connection between them.
The supporting characters are a lot of fun as well and I’m curious to find out more about them as the episodes continue.

A mystery worth sticking around for.
I’m not going to lie, I was pulled in with this particular mystery and I am hooked. I like that the mystery is light and fun while Emma and Noah try to figure it out in present day. I know there will be more to the story, but they are keeping me entertained, which is a very good thing!
The Cons:

Needs to stay on course…
The series started out really strong for me. I really liked that we were spending time on the issues in Emma and Noah’s marriage to further their development. There was a good balance between this and the mystery in the past and I think that the pacing worked for the most part.
However, as I started to get toward the end of episode three, things started to steer off a little. I’m concerned that the series may get too wrapped up in the mystery and forget about the character development. I’m hoping it can gain back the feel from the first two episodes, but we’ll have to see how this unfolds.
I also think that the idea of this series may be a lot better than the actual execution. There are already some missed opportunities, but I plan on sticking around to see how this turns out.
So am I in or out?

I’m in!
This show definitely has a lot of potential with really fun characters and an addicting mystery. I’m looking forward to checking out more episodes!
