PASSENGER is a decent enough watch with a few note-worthy scares thrown in. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Spooky opening!

I almost wish I hadn’t seen the trailer for this film because it would have made the opening even more chilling. That being said, I still enjoyed the ride and it was fun seeing this in a packed theater. Some of the jump scares were a little cheesy, but they were also a lot of fun. The opening to this film definitely set the bar high enough.

Dug the vibe!

It’s no secret that I love horror movies from the early 2000’s and I thought that this film could have effortlessly released during that time. Was this movie amazing? No, not at all, but it was entertaining and a lot of fun. I was hooked the whole time and I easily found myself transported back to a time when horror movies were fun and spooky without making me think too hard about what was actually going on.

The characters weren’t insufferable by any means, which tends to happen in films like this. The actors did a good enough job with what they were given and I actually found myself rooting for them, which is a good sign.

It was a simple trip from road A to B and it worked for me personally. It was very easy to turn my mind off and just relax and enjoy the ride.

The Cons:

Nothing new here…

This is a movie I’ve seen before. The plot and formula could have easily been taken from several other horror movies. The ending was a little silly, but as long as you manage your expectations, you’ll still have a good time with this film.

Spoiler-Free Review of “OBSESSION” in Theaters: A Distressing and Consuming Watch

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“I would choose you over everything…”

OBSESSION releases in theaters on May 15th 2026. The supernatural horror film stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson and Megan Lawless. It runs for approximately an hour and forty-eight minutes.

Bear has been in love with his friend, Nikki for years, but has never found the courage to tell her how he truly feels about her. After purchasing a mysterious “One Wish Willow,” he makes a wish for her to love him more than anyone in the world. To his surprise, the wish comes true, but it comes with devastating consequences.

Here is the trailer:

OBSESSION is a terrifying watch that transcends past the supernatural with its fresh take on infatuation, lingering with the viewer after the credits roll. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Inde Navarrette gives an unhinged performance worth talking about.

I wasn’t too familiar with her before this film, but wow is she on my radar now. She went all out with this portrayal in such a chilling way. I’d rank her right up there with Mia Goth in Pearl and Naomi Scott in Smile 2. She was that good!

There were so many tense moments in this and others that broke me emotionally. Navarrette never skipped a beat. She poured every ounce of crazy into the character of Nikki and it worked brilliantly.

A new take on the infatuation/obsession genre.

It’s already one of my favorite genres, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how unique this entry was. It still fit nicely into the infatuation/thriller genre, but it also took a stab at some other themes without hitting the audience over the head with its message.

The raw and unfiltered moments were so well done. There can be so much said about this movie and I think it tackled loneliness, heartbreak, and the need for acceptance in such a thought-provoking way while still managing to cause goosebumps to appear on my flesh every single time Nikki appeared on screen.

The ending was also exceptionally well done. It refused to sugarcoat things and really left me in such a state after I walked out of the theater. That’s when I know I’ve just witnessed something truly brilliant.

The Cons:

I don’t have many…

While it may not be for everyone, this film checked off a lot of boxes for me. My only con would be that it was emotionally upsetting at times and maybe the lore could have been explained a little bit more.

I also felt like I needed to be in the right state of mind to watch this. I’m not sure that I would watch this one multiple times because it had such a profound impact on me with my initial viewing.

OBSESSION is a tense and disturbing film that flips the infatuation genre upside down with its fresh and unhinged take.

Inde Navarrette is definitely a Scream Queen after that chilling performance!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Devil Wears Prada 2″ in Theaters: A Stylish Sequel that Understands the Assignment!

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“Looks like you need a job…”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 gives fans plenty of nostalgia while creating something new in the process with fun cameos and satisfying performances. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Great dynamic between the characters.

It’s been twenty years but our main characters haven’t missed a beat. I thought they channeled their original characters extremely well and adapted to their new situation with flair. I loved the banter between characters and thought everyone put on a great show.

The cameos were terrific and can I just say that Lucy Liu has not aged a day! Wow!

The fashion was on point, but honestly I expected nothing less here.

New and fresh while still bringing the nostalgia.

It’s not always easy delivering on a sequel of an iconic film set 20 years later. I’ve seen a lot of other movies fail in this department, but I thought that The Devil Wears Prada 2 managed to find its groove with its approach.

Everything worked seamlessly to keep the original vibe of the film going while still taking into account that a lot of time has passed since the first entry. The balance worked for me personally.

The Cons:

A touch too long.

The pacing was fine overall. I thought a few of the story-lines seemed a little forced without enough time to flesh them out, but nothing felt too dragged out.

That being said, I think this movie should have been about an hour and forty minutes tops.

Things were a little cheesy and predictable, but everything was very entertaining nonetheless.

I thoroughly enjoyed my watch.

“They were doomed…”

Hokum premiered in theaters on May 1st 2026. The folk horror mystery film stars Adam Scott, David Wilmot, Peter Coonan, and Florence Ordesh. It runs for approximately an hour and forty-eight minutes.

When a novelist retreats to a remote hotel in Ireland to scatter the ashes of his parents, he learns that a witch may be haunting a suite in the hotel he is staying at, which could be connected to the disappearance of a woman who helped him during his stay.

Here is the trailer:

Hokum lures us into a compelling slow burn mystery with some chilling moments built in. Is it worthy of YOUR next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

So scary!

This movie scared me on more than one occasion. The jump scares never felt cheesy or filler. Each one complimented the eerie overall tone of the film so well. I had goosebumps on my skin the entire time and felt like I was losing my mind in the best way possible.

This movie reminded me a lot of Oddity (from the same writer and director) mixed with 1408. If you enjoy hotel horror flicks, there is a lot here for you to enjoy.

It may be a while before I go down into my basement and I highly recommend investing in some chalk!

A solid mystery.

Even though this was a horror movie, I really enjoyed the elements of mystery within it. It really drew me in and I found myself wanting to know more with each clue presented, which ended up turning into quite the insane ride! Wow…

I also thought Adam Scott did a great job here with a note-worthy performance.

The Cons:

Be prepared for a slow burn.

I wouldn’t say that this was a major con and it didn’t take away from the overall impact of the film by any means. Just keep in mind that it will take a while for things to unfold.

So am I in or out?

I’m in!!!

Hokum is a thought-provoking horror film that unleashes some frightening moments upon its audience, reeling us into an unhinged nightmare worth exploring.

This film exceeded my expectations! I’m not sure that I’ll be sleeping for a while though…
