Find Your Friends has its moments, leading up to a jaw-dropping conclusion. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Dug the vibe!

I’m a big fan of the girly horror genre and this film could definitely fit right in. I loved the overall vibe. As soon as I saw the trailer for this film, I knew it would be right up my alley. Girls trips gone wrong are usually a lot of fun and this one had a lot of shocking moments.

I was familiar with a lot of the cast and I thought the dynamic between the characters worked for the most part. They were very believable as friends.

The last twenty minutes were fantastic!

OK so we took a while to get there, but the payoff was worth it for me. I was pleasantly surprised by the violent gore thrown in last minute. Sure, I wanted it sooner, but if you enjoy “good for her” revenge flicks, this one delivers in that department and then some!

The Cons:

Took too long to get to the punch.

Don’t get me wrong…I liked a lot of things about this movie. That being said, there was some sluggish pacing to deal with. I was all for the party vibe in the beginning of the film, but after a while, the repetitive loud techno music became irritating. It started to gloss over the fact that the plot felt mostly filler until bad things started actually happening.

The characters were also really annoying for the most part and reminded me too much of girls I grew up with. I think that was sort of the point though so I’ll leave that alone, but I guess I was looking for one real character to root for.

I also wanted this film to dig just a little bit deeper. It had a few sprinkles of pure magic, but I needed more.

So am I in or out?

I’m in about 75 percent…

(3 out of 5 stars)

Find Your Friends is a solid addition to the girly horror genre. Think Bad Girls Club meets The Royal Hotel with a cvnty attitude leading up to blood-soaked revenge.

The Pros:

So much fun!

I grew up watching both He-Man and She-Ra so I was excited to give this one a whirl and I’m really glad I did. It was so much fun, and I was smiling during the entire film. I loved the mix of action and comedy. It really made this such a great popcorn watch without taking things too seriously. This film recognized its predecessors and tried to do something nostalgic for fans while still giving new fans something to be excited about.

Bring on the sequel!

There will be no spoilers in this review, but make sure you stick around the for the end credits scene. I jumped out of my chair with excitement!

Awesome performances!

Skeletor is one of my favorite villains ever and I was a little nervous when I heard that Jared Leto was playing him, but he did a FANTASTIC job! The sarcasm worked and Alison Brie made a terrific Evil-Lyn. She deserved some more screen time though…

My girl, Camila Mendes (Riverdale) kicked ass as Teela, but I knew she would eat up this role.

Nicholas Galitzine did a fantastic job as Adam/He-Man and Idris Elba was such a scene stealer.

This was such an electric cast, and I loved the dynamic between all of the characters so much. It really enhanced the overall story and made me root for the characters that much more.

The Cons:

A little too long.

The pacing was mostly on point, but I do think that things felt dragged out a little bit in the middle. I would have preferred this film to be just under two hours, but I still enjoyed everything. Not all of the comedic moments hit for me, but I dug the campy vibe so this wasn’t a major con for me.

So am I in or out?

I’m in!!!

Masters of the Universe (2026) is an absolute blast to watch!

Overall, this film exceeded my expectations. It’s the perfect film to watch if you want to just lose yourself in the movies for a little while and travel to the world of Eternia!

I’m in the mood to watch Secret of the Sword now!

It was only supposed to be temporary…but when Olivia Crewe accepts a new position that seems too good to be true, she soon discovers that twelve other girls previously had the same job as her. Only none of them lasted for more than thirty days. No notice. Nothing…right before they mysteriously disappeared without a trace.

Spoiler-Free Review of “Scary Movie” (2026) in Theaters: Packed with Cameos but Light on Laughs…

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

They’re back!!!

Scary Movie (2026) released in theaters on June 5th 2026. The horror comedy film is the sixth film in the franchise, starring Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall. It runs for approximately an hour and thirty-five minutes.

Twenty-six years after the first film, Shorty, Ray, Cindy, and Brenda are targeted once again by a masked killer.

Here is the trailer:

Scary Movie 6 parodies numerous horror films and gives fans a lot of cameos and nods at the original, but does it actually deliver on comedy? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

The gang is back together again.

The best part of this film was seeing the original cast back together again. I recently re-watched all of the Scary Movies to prepare for my watch and I can definitely say that Shorty and Ray’s presence was missed after the first two films.

There were a lot of other cameos and supporting roles as well by familiar faces, which was a lot of fun to see.

The younger cast didn’t really do anything for me. I didn’t find any of them funny, but I guess they delivered on what they were told to do…

Loved the nods to the original.

There was definitely some nostalgia watching this. I loved all of the nods at the original. I did chuckle a few times during this film and most of the time that happened during these moments. It would have been nice to see a few more cast members included. I still think that leaving Shannon Elizabeth out of this was a mistake…

The Cons:

Really not that funny…

Look, there were a lot of people in my theater laughing so maybe I missed something here, but I rarely laughed during this one. Scary Movie 1 and 2 are hilarious to me and I’m a huge fan of White Chicks so I did have some high expectations here and they were definitely shattered.

I think I maybe laughed out loud at one part and chuckled here and there, but there were SO MANY jokes that did not land and a lot of them were really painful to sit through.

I think part of the issue was that they tried to do too much here. It just didn’t translate well for me at all.

Also, it seemed like there were several missed opportunities. (Example, Brenda should have been able to go full Ma, but nothing happened with this other than a comment or two on her hair looking like Octavia Spencer’s).

So am I in or out?

I’m 50/50 on this one…

(2.5 out of 5 stars)

Scary Movie (2026) had a lot of great cameos, which were fun to see, but it offered very few laughs in return.

This wasn’t awful, but it really wasn’t great, which was so disappointing.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Scary Movie 6 in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “CHUM” on Demand: A Bland Rip-Off that No One Asked For…

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“The sea takes what it wants…”

CHUM released on Demand on June 5th 2026. The survival horror film stars Alice Eve, Eric Michael Cole, Lisa Yaro, Elle Haymond, and Jim Klock. It runs for approximately an hour and twenty-five minutes.

A wedding party in Malta find themselves surrounded by dangerous sharks after their yacht capsizes.

Here is the trailer:

CHUM has a familiar, but decent enough set up, but does it do enough to be worthy of your next shark watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of IFC films

Welcome back, Alice Eve!

It was a real struggle for me to come up with any pro for this movie. I’ll just say that it was great to see Alice Eve on the screen again and I’d love to see her in more (just not this).

She hasn’t aged a day and was the only spark of life here…

The Cons:

Images courtesy of IFC Films

Terrible acting and atrocious effects.

I don’t even know where to start…

This film was bad…really, really bad.

My bar is always set pretty low for shark films. I don’t expect much, but they are my guilty pleasure and I love them…even the bad ones. But, it was very hard to find anything redeemable in this particular film.

The effects were laughable. It really looked like AI slop or something similar. There was no real sense of suspense because of this and any of the shark action was watered down as well.

The acting and plot were pretty much non-existent.

A rip-off of other films.

My biggest issue with this film was that it was not original at all. Sure, most shark flicks follow a very similar formula. We usually get a couple or a group of friends who get stranded and then our toothy friends show up, leading to them getting picked off one by one until we get one bad-ass survivor in the mix.

This film just really phoned it in with every aspect. It stole from one of my favorite films of last year in such a bland and uninspiring way.

I was beyond disappointed with this one.

So am I in or out?

Unfortunately I’m out on this one…

(1/5 stars)

CHUM is a complete rip-off of Dangerous Animals and Jaws: The Revenge with laughable effects and cringe-worthy acting.

I should have just re-watched Dangerous Animals instead…

Sorry, Alice Eve!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts on CHUM in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
