Spoiler-Free Review of “Wedding Season” on Hulu: In Love with a Criminal

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“I object…”

Wedding Season premiered on September 8th 2022 on Hulu. There are eight episodes in total that are all available to stream now. The thriller-comedy series stars Rosa Salazar, Gavin Drea, Jamie Michie, and Callie Cooke. Each episode is approximately 34-37 minutes.

Stefan attempts to talk the love of his life out of marrying the wrong guy, but things get complicated when her new family is murdered and Stefan becomes the main suspect.

Here is the trailer:

Wedding Season has a killer fun premise with likable leads, but does it do enough to earn a watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Great chemistry between Stefan and Katie.

Rosa Salazar is quickly becoming one of my favorite new actresses and she dominates the screen in this one. I actually really liked Stefan’s character as well and I enjoyed the Bonnie and Clyde-esque adventures. There was believable chemistry between them and a spark that lit up the screen.

The thrilling moments were a lot of fun!

I really enjoyed the moments in the present day timeline and I thought these two were so much fun to watch. Stefan’s reactions to what was going on were hilarious and I was actually on the edge of my seat quite a few times. This series had elements of a light thriller with a dangerous romance to keep us invested.

The Cons:

Tries to do too much…

While I enjoyed the mash-up of rom-com moments and thrilling action, this show attempted to cram a lot into thirty minute episodes. Sometimes the flashbacks were slightly confusing and I much preferred the present day timeline. The friend characters were OK and served their purpose, but there was some unnecessary fluff to sift through.

So am I in or out?

I’m in about 75 percent…

Overall, this was an enjoyable watch and I loved Rosa Salazar’s character, but sometimes less is more and I think this series over-complicated things a little too much at times. That being said, I still was satisfied with my ride and there are plenty of entertaining moments up until the very end.

Spoiler-Free Review of “You” Season 3 on Netflix: Best Season Yet!

**This is a spoiler-free review of season 3 so feel free to read on!**

“We are the best team…”

You is back for a third season as we follow Joe to the suburbs. Season 3 premiered on October 15th 2021, featuring ten episodes available to stream now on Netflix (approximately 45-50 minutes in length). The show stars Penn Badgley, Victoria Pedretti, Dylan Arnold, Shalita Grant, Scott Speedman and Tati Gabrielle.

You season 3 continues the relationship of Joe and Love in their new home as they welcome their new child into the world, but some old habits are hard to break when it comes to jealousy and obsession…

Here is the trailer:

You has always been a binge-watcher’s dream but season 3 was beyond addicting. It transformed the show into something even greater, giving us plenty to talk about. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Dream duo!

I really enjoyed the first two seasons of You, but season 3 was a game changer for me and part of that was thanks to the dynamic between Joe and Love. Joe is off his game in a lot of ways and Love keeps him on his toes. They are both dangerous and deadly and I loved the Bonnie and Clyde/Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe going on throughout the season.

If you think your marriage has issues, watch these two!

Great new characters.

I loved all of the new characters introduced. They really added to the whole suburban environment. We know that people wind up in serious trouble when they cross paths with Joe and Love, but I thought that some of the interactions were really outrageous in a good way and they kept me invested throughout my watch.

The Cons:

Where do we go from here?

There will be no spoilers in this review but A LOT happened in season 3 and now I’m left wondering what’s next for Joe? I really liked the new direction of the show so we’ll have to see if it can keep that momentum going since season 4 has already been confirmed. This isn’t necessarily a con, but I hope that the next season can keep the level of intensity going because this show is really addicting!

I’m in!

This was my favorite season so far! I loved the dynamic between Joe and Love and I could not stop watching this show. I finished all ten episodes in just over a day because it was that addicting!

My performance of the week ending 3/14/20 on TV goes to…

Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler on AMC’s Better Call Saul season 5.

The entire cast of Better Call Saul is extremely talented and it’s difficult to outshine the infamous scene stealer himself, Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman, but somehow Rhea Seehorn’s performance each week continues to move me. Kim Wexler is the heart of the show and she is always so brilliant and believable.

**Please note some spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on the series.**

While Saul (formerly known as Jimmy) is known to cut through some red tape to make things happen, Kim always tries to do things by the book. Sure, she certainly has had some fantastic cons with Jimmy, but you truly empathize with her internal struggle to be taken seriously as a lawyer.

I honestly don’t know anyone who works harder and sometimes it takes a toll on her, but she is so driven to fight for things in the right way. However, Kim recognizes that following the book doesn’t always pay off even when she has gone through every possible scenario and detail. I actually get so annoyed with the team from Mesa Verde and how they treat Kim.

They take advantage of her and don’t see how valuable she truly is. In season 5, episodes 3 and 4, Kim tries to reason with a man who refuses to leave his home, which is on land owned by Mesa Verde. Kim stands her ground, but also gets a wake-up call when the man asks her about her own morals.

Kim does everything in her power to try and find another way, but when her ideas are dismissed, she starts to realize that perhaps she does need Jimmy/Saul to get some real justice.

Kim’s moral compass is what makes her such a likable character. We accept and know that Jimmy/Saul is going to entertain us with his schemes, but Kim wavers back and forth between what is actually right and wrong. Out of all the characters on the show, Kim is the one I relate to the most. She is so real and convincing and my heart goes out to her whenever something bad happens to her because she doesn’t deserve it.

What’s next for Kim Wexler? We’ll have to see how her team-up with Saul pans out, but I’m hoping that Kim can find her way and earn the respect and recognition that she deserves. I’m also wondering what’s next for Kim and Saul. I think that they are such an adorable couple and almost remind me of a modern day Bonnie and Clyde in the attorney world, but we also know that Kim is not mentioned or seen in the Breaking Bad series.

Was it a bad breakup or do they part on good terms? I’m not sure, but it’s clear that Saul needs Kim in his life. They both are conflicted in different ways and somehow bring out the best in one another. I’m hoping that with the series wrapping up next year, we will get some kind of concrete answers and closure for them.

Since we do flash forward to the future quite a bit, there is still hope for Saul to make things right with Kim, but I am also nervous about what actually split them up in the first place because it honestly breaks my heart even though I don’t know what actually happened.

Through it all, this series continues to be one of the best on television and Rhea Seehorn shines every single week with her incredible performances. Kim Wexler is one of the strongest female characters on television right now and she is an inspiration to women everywhere. Let’s just hope that she doesn’t get caught in the middle of another mess because she deserves the world and then some.

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!
