Ranking the “Wolf Creek” Franchise: “If I tell you, I’ll have to kill you…”

“Uncle Mick won’t hurt you…”

While I had seen the original Wolf Creek movie back in 2005, I somehow missed out on the rest of the franchise and I decided to binge-watch it all to catch up with our old pal, Mick Taylor. When it comes to horror villains, we naturally think about Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers and more, but Mick Taylor may be one of the best villains I have ever watched in a horror franchise.

Part of what makes the franchise so terrifying is that it is loosely based on real events. I already have issues with watching tourists get lost into the void and Mick Taylor welcomes you to the Outback with a smile and “rain water from the top end.” John Jarratt’s portrayal of Mick is out of this world. Mick is ruthless, sadistic, and terrifying, but he also manages to charm us with his fantastic laugh and quirky humor, which almost makes you root more for the villain as the characters in each film are just along for crazy Mick’s ride.

After watching the entire franchise, I can tell you that I absolutely love every film and season and there isn’t one that I would say is lacking. For today, I am going to be ranking the Wolf Creek franchise, but this mostly comes down to preference and I am anxiously waiting for Wolf Creek 3 to be released, which seems to already be in the works for 2022. Yay!

Without any further delay, let’s find out exactly how I ranked the Wolf Creek films/seasons and why.

Wolf Creek 2 (2013)

It’s rare for me to like a sequel more than an original film, but I think that Wolf Creek truly found its way in the second movie. Mick is back and better than ever and I think everyone realized it’s better to let Mick just be Mick, as he faces off against Ryan Corr in this edge-of-your-seat film.

While the first film took a while to get going, this one starts off with a bang. I thought that Mick was even funnier in this one and there was no fluff in the way. Everything happens at a fast pace and was really brutal.

I thought that Ryan Corr was really good in the film as well and a worthy opponent, but you can’t beat Mick at his own game…

Standout Death:

Poor Katarina. She just wanted to go camping with her boyfriend and witnessed a lot of horrific things before Ryan Corr’s character picked her up on the side of the road. After screaming hysterically about her circumstances, Mick ends up shooting her…accidentally. There goes Mick’s play thing for the next few months and he is not happy about it.

2 Wolf Creek: Season 2 (2017)

Whoever came up with the idea to have Mick driving a bus full of tourists through the Australian Outback is a genius. I wasn’t really sure what I was going to get with the second season of the series and wow did it deliver. I was completely addicted to this show and there were explosions, twists, and more terrifying fun with Mick Taylor.

I can’t think of anything more terrifying than poor Ritchie having his tongue cut out only to be buried alive with a termite mound on top of him…

I am still cringing over this.

Season 2 did not hold back at all…

3 Wolf Creek (2005)

The original movie is really frightening, but it takes a while to get going. We follow Liz and her friends while they explore Wolf Creek and we are then first introduced to Mick’s character after their car won’t start.

Once Mick revealed his true sinister intentions, things really get going, but I think this film took a little while to find its footing and that’s not necessarily a bad thing at all. I just think it adjusted better with the later film and series.

Standout Death:

I really think Liz deserved better. I was rooting for her during the entire movie and I thought that she had Final Girl potential. She kept a clear head and made smart decisions, but it still wasn’t enough to defeat Mick in the end as he tried out his “head on a stick” impression, stabbing her to death.

I think this is also the moment that truly made me realize how good this franchise is. I thought Liz was going to be the survivor and then I realized that the film wasn’t about the good guy winning or saving the day. It was more about Mick and what he was getting away with and how easy it can be to make someone disappear…

Either way, I kind of wished we got some Easter Eggs about Liz in the later film and series. I still don’t know how Mick knew exactly what car she would get into…

4 Wolf Creek: Season 1 (2016)

I really liked season one of the series as well, but when I look back at the entire franchise, it feels different from the rest. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because the series should have a different vibe to make it stand out on its own and I think it accomplished that here. It was just really more of a revenge story for Eve and there was a lot of drama and romance sprinkled in, but I did really love the dog!

Well, we know that Mick doesn’t actually die, but Eve does defeat him and this was the huge moment on the show. Well done, Eve!

So, what’s next for Mick Taylor?

We know that a new film is already in the works and season 3 is not off the table either so it looks like we will be seeing more Mick Taylor in the future. In the meantime, you might want to re-consider those vacation plans…

Spoiler-Free Review of “Black Summer” Season 2 on Netflix: Step Your Cardio Game Up

“We did what we had to do…”

Black Summer season 2 premiered on Netflix on June 17th 2021 with eight new episodes available to stream now. Each episode runs for approximately 40-50 minutes. The show stars Jaime King, Christine Lee, Justin Chu Cary and Zoe Marlett.

The unofficial prequel of Z Nation brings us into a new icy setting, as our favorite characters attempt to survive during the zombie outbreak while dealing with other threats along the way.

Black Summer season one was a welcomed surprise, but can season two keep things going at a fast pace without becoming overdone? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

The new icy setting is a welcomed addition.

I suppose that you can only run away from these super fast zombies for a certain amount of time so it makes sense that we switch up the setting for the second season. The zombies are just as terrifying, but winter can be even more deadly and brutal. I thought this worked to the show’s advantage as our favorite characters had to deal with more than just surviving the dead.

A true zombie series.

While I watch the shows in the TWD universe, things have become less frightening in a way. The walkers move at a slow pace, our survivors know that they can outsmart them, and even some of the kids can take them out so are they really that terrifying?

Well sure, but the zombies on Black Summer will have you rethinking your entire cardio routine. Seriously, I need to get in serious shape if I want to outrun them. This series does not slow down at all. There isn’t any fluff in between and we basically are just along for the ride while everyone attempts to survive in this horrific new world. It’s bloody, violent, and a true depiction of what life would probably be like if the zombie apocalypse actually occurred.

The Cons:

Confusing at times.

I actually really like the vignette style of the show and I think it helps maintain the fast pace, but things can get really confusing at times. I had to piece together who was who and where we were in the timeline, which can get slightly exhausting, but at least there is plenty of action to make you forget about this.

No real attachment or story-line.

Other than Rose and her daughter, Sun, and Spears, I couldn’t really care less about any of the other characters even though there were some new additions with potential. It’s hard to get attached to characters when they could die at any moment and even the returning characters needed a little bit more air time for true character development although we certainly did witness some with Spears.

There also isn’t really anything major going on with the plot or story-line. If you are looking for something complex and layered, you won’t get that here. You’ll just get lots and lots of zombies tearing people apart so I guess it depends on your preference.

So am I in or out?

I’m in!

I kind of needed a break from advanced story-telling. Sometimes you need a mindless show you can just watch and enjoy. There is plenty of action, gore, and zombie entertainment in this series. As long as you manage your expectations, you will highly enjoy the second season!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Loki” on Disney+: Mischief and Mayhem

“Guilty of being the god of mischief? Yes…”

Loki premiered on Disney+ on June 9th 2021. The series will feature six weekly episodes that air on Wednesdays. Each episode runs for approximately 40-50 minutes. The show stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

The series takes place after the events of Avengers: End Game, as the god of mischief embarks on a confusing adventure of his very own, as he tries to figure out his place in the world.

Loki has the potential to reel its viewers back into the MCU while charming us with one of our favorite antiheroes, but does its confusing plot get in the way of pure greatness? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Tom Hiddleston is charming as ever.

Loki has always been one of my favorite characters and whether you love him or hate him, there’s an undeniable presence and charm to Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal. He is witty, devious, and beyond entertaining, and having a show completely dedicated to him seems like a brilliant idea to me.

I’m excited to see him really flourish in his own show and I have to say that Owen Wilson is doing a fantastic job of keeping up. I was worried that he might be a little bit too cheesy or over-the-top, but his dry humor is balancing nicely with Loki’s and they are both really fun to watch on screen.

More please!

The antihero can be redeemed.

If you haven’t watched all of the Avengers movies yet, you probably shouldn’t be watching Loki, but his moment of redemption was needed, but it also left me wanting more from our beloved character and we basically get a second chance to see Loki go on a real path toward self-discovery and purpose. There is a lot to this character and he isn’t just a trickster. He has a lot of layers and I am excited that we will finally be able to uncover his full potential in this series.

The Cons:

Muddled and confusing.

I’m not going to lie, I was really confused by the first episode. There is A LOT going on and the TVA is not making things easy for the viewers at home. The mystery is intriguing enough to keep me coming back for more, but I’m hoping we can get some concrete answers soon since we only have six episodes to explore.

I am giving the show a chance despite the confusing premise and pacing issues especially since I was equally confused with the beginning of WandaVision and that quickly became one of my favorite shows of the year.

So am I in or out?

I’m in!

Tom Hiddleston is charming and entertaining enough to keep you coming back for more, but this show has some real potential. There is a lot going on and I hope that the pacing picks up with the coming episodes, but it has captured my attention and I am really interested to see Loki’s character develop even more.

Predictions for the “Cruel Summer” Season Finale: Who is Annabelle?

Happy Monday TV Fans! As we approach the season finale of Cruel Summer, there is quite a lot I want to see, but will we be able to answer all of our questions or will there be more of the mystery left to uncover?

**Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up with this series.**

Cruel Summer has quickly become one of my favorite shows to premiere this year and even though the trippy time jumps may have your head spinning here and there, the mystery is a good one and I have had so many theories and questions about this particular show.

Just when you think you have it all figured out, the show throws you for a loop which reminds us that seeing things from each perspective is not always clear cut and sometimes there is a lot more to the truth.

So, what can we expect from the season finale?

Well, now that we have witnessed the events leading to Kate being locked up in the basement, we are going to be watching the trial between Kate and Jeanette. We know that Kate did have a relationship with Martin, but it did escalate into something truly horrific and my heart does go out to her.

We now understand how Jeanette’s necklace showed up at the house, but Kate seems still pretty convinced that Jeanette saw her and that wasn’t evident at all from the flashbacks we witnessed.

The trial is probably going to have a lot of drama, but will we learn anything new?

I still have two major questions and I want some answers in the season finale.

Is Mallory hiding something?

Everything in my gut tells me that Mallory has a secret. I’m not exactly sure what her part is in this all, but maybe she saw more on that videotape than she is letting on…

Mallory lied to Jeanette about the snow globe, but what else does she know and can she be trusted at all?

Let’s talk about Annabelle…

The biggest question I have had has been around who Annabelle is. I have theories about it being another victim, part of Kate’s personality or part of Martin’s own issues, but I really hope that we finally get to explore the answer to this burning question because I think it has the potential to truly surprise the audience.

Don’t let us down!

Will there be another twist?

The series has only been approved for one season, but that doesn’t mean that Freeform won’t decide to bring it back for a second one, but what would actually happen in the second season?

We would need another shocking twist to bring us back for more and the only thing that comes to mind is perhaps Martin isn’t actually dead after all? Maybe Jeanette did actually see her?

I also think that one of the parents knows a lot more than they are saying or maybe there was another witness.

Honestly I don’t know, but I really like this show and would be happy to see another season only if we have more to the mystery left to uncover.

Spoiler-Free Review of “Sailor Moon Eternal” on Netflix: In the Name of the Moon…

“Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!”

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie premiered in early 2021, but it is now officially available to stream on Netflix as of June 3rd 2021. The film/series is broken up into two parts. Each part runs for approximately an hour and twenty minutes.

Following the Dream arc of the manga series, Sailor Moon Eternal introduces us to the Dead Moon Circus after an eclipse emerges. The circus is filled with potential villains and dangers, as each of our favorite guardians go through a personal dream/nightmare that could have deadly consequences.

Can the guardians defeat the evil and their nightmares to save the world?

Sailor Moon Eternal feels more like a new season rather than a film, but it manages to capture the 90’s nostalgia from the cartoon series that holds a very special place in my heart. Is the new film worthy of a watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Captures the essence of the original series.

While there were mixed reactions about the Sailor Moon Crystal series that came out in 2014, the 90’s cartoon is one of the best things I have ever watched and when I look back on it, I realize it also probably created my love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

There is a chosen one who must keep her identity a secret, a mysterious love interest, and a great balance of action, comedy, and drama sealed with a message of love and friendship.

The show is iconic and it’s difficult to get back to that level, but I thought that Sailor Moon Eternal felt very much like the original and I absolutely loved that.

Intriguing plot.

Also like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, we channel some “Nightmares” and “Restless” vibes, as Sailor Moon and her friends each have to deal with a personal nightmare that comes to life. I thought that this helped me connect with each of the characters that much more and I was hooked by the familiar plot, which is usually pretty entertaining.

The Cons:

A lot to remember…

It’s been some time since I have watched Sailor Moon so there was a lot to remember. I started to piece things together, but you have to go into this movie knowing something about Sailor Moon or you will feel completely lost.

I’m not sure if this film will connect with a new audience, but I think that fans of the original will feel right at home.

So am I in or out?

This movie brought me right back to the original series and I loved every minute of it. If you are a fan of Sailor Moon, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how well the new movie channels the nostalgia of the original series while still bringing in some new welcomed additions and elements.

Predictions for the “Younger” Series Finale: What I’m Dying to See and More!

Happy Saturday TV Fans! As we approach the series finale of Younger, there is quite a lot I want to see, but will we have time to address it all in the jam-packed finale?

**Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up with this series.**

Younger is such a fun show and I have honestly fallen in love with it over the years. There is this seamless balance between rom-com perfection and drama to keep you coming back for more. While the love triangle has been done over and over again, it somehow seemed fresh and new on this show. There are also these incredible moments of self-reflection and growth presented and the show really captures the essence of true friendship without becoming too cheesy in the process.

It seems like the right time to end the series, but the final season has had its ups and downs. Will it end things on a high note? I’m remaining positive and I hope we can get back some of the magic from the earlier seasons in the final episode.

So, what can we expect from the series finale?

I really want to see Liza and Kelsey venture out on their own. We know that Charles is finally impressed with what they are creating with Inkubator, but maybe it’s time for them to step away from the company and branch out on their own.

Of course there is now some drama tangled up in this. After Kelsey agrees to let Rob show someone the pitch, it gets forwarded all over the place and eventually winds up with Quinn. We know she is going to make some waves here.

I think that Charles took too long to really believe in his employees and the beginning of the series started off with Liza having to lie about her age to land a job. Well, she has certainly proven herself and embraced her age and identity, so I think it’s about time for her to make it on her own with Kelsey.

I’m rooting for you ladies!

What about our favorite supporting characters?

So, I appreciate the amount of time we have been spending on Maggie and Lauren this season. But, what about Diana? We know that Diana and Zane will not be featured that much in the final season, but we have to see Diana in the final episode…right?

We brought back Max into Lauren’s life and Maggie has really found her identity again through her work, but what about Josh?

Now that we have been shoved back into the Charliza direction again, it seems like Josh has been mostly filler this season. There was a part of me that wanted Liza to end up with him, but now what’s next for him?

He’s a great father and he has his work, but I really feel like we mostly used Josh as a prop for other characters and he deserves a lot more than that.

Is Rob right for Kelsey?

I think Kelsey deserves a lot better and she is making some poor decisions when it comes to Rob. I don’t really agree with what she did to Clare. She should have been honest and upfront with her from the start. After that argument, it seems like she is moving too quickly with Rob.

I spent a lot of time falling in love with her and Zane and I will be extremely disappointed if this is truly the end of their relationship. I am hoping that Zane will also somehow get a hold of the pitch to save the day, but I really don’t know at this point.

I actually really liked the competitive drive between these two and I feel like Kelsey has lost a bit of herself in the final season. Fingers crossed that it will all work out!

Is Charliza end game?

Honestly, I don’t know if I’m sold on this one. Sure, we have built up this epic love between them over the years, but I am really annoyed at Charles for rebounding with Quinn so quickly after Liza. Charles is a smart man and even though his ego was hurt by Liza’s answer, this seems like an annoying plot device thrown into the mix.

Nobody likes Quinn and she has been shady from the start, so why would Charles go to her with open arms? We brought Pauline back to stir things up and I honestly didn’t care. Liza has been so strong on her own and I was sort of hoping that she would end the series without a man, but maybe have it implied that things weren’t off the table for her and Josh in the future.

Now, that has been thrown out the window and we are left with a cheesy Charliza happy ending. It’s not that I don’t like these two together. I just don’t like how they were split apart and I think that we should really question Charles’s character after his relationship with Quinn.

That being said, I’m going into the series finale with an open mind. This show has always been really entertaining and I will miss watching it. I hope we get a few surprises during the finale and some much needed guest stars, but we’ll have to wait and see!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Panic” on Prime Video: Let the Game Begin

“Every small town has a secret…ours has a game.”

Panic premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 28th 2021 with ten episodes available to stream now. The series stars Olivia Welch, Ray Nicholson, Jessica Sula, Mike Faist, and Camron Jones. Each episode runs for approximately 40-45 minutes.

After graduating from high school in a small Texas town, the seniors compete in a secret dangerous game to score a chance at a competitive cash prize that will grant them an escape from their boring lives. The series is based on the book of the same name by Lauren Oliver.

Panic may initially appear to be a standard YA series filled with tropes and drama, but the show manages to hook its audience with the very first episode, reeling us in for more and more as the clever plot reveals the secrets and mysteries behind the game. Is Panic worthy of your next binge-watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Draws you in with adrenaline filled episodes.

This show was very effective at maintaining a fast pace even with some of the drama and set-up sprinkled in. I was invested from the start and by the time we got to the explosive end of the first episode, I needed to know what happened next and this continued to happen with the remaining episodes.

The episodes are only about 45 minutes in length but I often felt like I was only watching for five minutes because I was so drawn in.

Addicting premise with characters to root for.

The game itself is actually really interesting and intense. I found myself playing along with the characters, but it also helped to have really interesting characters to root for. I thought that each character had a lot to offer, but Heather, Ray, and Natalie were my favorites and I wanted each of them to succeed for different reasons.

Predictable teenage drama.

This is a YA series and we do get quite a lot of teen drama sprinkled into the mix. There is the obvious love triangle, the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, the girl who is trying to do right by her family, and the supportive best friend. There was nothing truly unique or extraordinary here, but I kind of dug some of the drama and it wasn’t enough to overshadow everything else going on.

Also, it seemed like the cops were just really dumb in this show. It’s a small town so it shouldn’t be this hard to crack the case, but as long as you go into this show expecting to see some tropes and unrealistic moments, you will still be highly entertained.

I’m in 100 percent!

I went into this show thinking I was going to get a watered down version of The Hunger Games and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I became obsessed with this show. This show is absolutely worthy of your next binge-watch and I think that Prime Video is really stepping up its game with YA thrillers. After the success of The Wilds, I am hoping that people will enjoy Panic also because I would love to see a second season…especially after that ending!

This show was so entertaining and really addicting. If you’re looking for a fast paced show with lots of twists and reveals, you are in the right place.

Spoiler-Free Review of “Lucifer” Season 5B on Netflix: Emotional Perfection

“Everyone deserves a second chance…”

Lucifer follows the devil himself, who decides to take a vacation on earth while teaming up with Detective Chloe Decker to solve crimes. Season 5B features the remaining eight episodes of the fifth season. It premiered on May 28th 2021 and all episodes are available to stream now. The show stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, and Lesley Ann-Brandt.

After some epic moments in the first half of the fifth season, Lucifer now has to deal with his family head on. The episodes present the audience with a roller coaster ride of emotions as we laugh, cry, and root for our favorite characters against all odds.

Lucifer Season 5B was truly moving and entertaining from start to finish. There were some standout episodes, but the crescendo of moments mirroring Lucifer’s quest to find himself have a serious impact, leading to a cliffhanger ending that will leave you wanting even more.

So, is Lucifer season 5B worth a watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Great guest stars and returning favorites.

If you watched season 5, then you know that God has arrived. There has been a lot of family drama between the angels, but God really was a delight to watch and I thought Dennis Haysbert was truly outstanding and a welcomed addition.

I was worried that the family drama might become overdone, but it really helped shed some light on the dynamic between all of the characters and it also brought us some hilarious moments as well.

We also got to see several familiar faces throughout the second half of season 5, but there will be no spoilers here. Let’s just say that you’ll be happy to see them!

Standout episodes and performances.

Much like the first half of season 5, there were some more standout episodes that really had me entertained. Season 5, episode 12 was a welcomed surprise. Some of these episodes actually really had me channeling some Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well, which is a good thing.

I don’t like to make too many comparisons to one of my favorite shows of all time, but there really was a great balance throughout the second half of the season that deserves some serious recognition.

Real character development.

We’ve seen Lucifer grow over the seasons, but I thought that Tom Ellis did an exceptional job in the second half of the season. When we got to the big moments, he really had me in tears and there were a lot of heartbreaking moments to deal with, but I felt like we had a worthy redeemed hero to guide us through them, which made me care about the show even more.

The Cons:

Needed more Deckerstar.

I shouldn’t really complain because we got plenty of that in the first half of the season, but I was missing some of the epic moments at first and I also thought that Chloe didn’t really seem like herself. There was a lot of talk about sacrifice, but I lost part of what makes Chloe who she is and I had some mixed thoughts on it.

So am I in or out?

I’m in 100 percent!

Season 5 really stepped up to the challenge. There were some really fun moments, but there were also some really heartbreaking ones too that still have me in tears. I think these moments were necessary; however, as it gave the show the fuel it needs to become something truly extraordinary as our characters start to realize who they are and who they can still become and I’m excited to be along for the journey.

I can’t wait to see what happens next in season 6!

Checking in on “Cruel Summer” on Freeform: 5 Questions I’m Dying to Know the Answers to

Greetings TV Fans! Freeform’s Cruel Summer has really been picking up the pace lately and I’m excited to watch the final three episodes. While each episode shows us things from Jeanette and Kate’s perspectives, there are a lot of other characters jammed into the mix with potential secrets and motives.

I have a lot of questions and theories, but will we be able to answer them all by the end of the series?

**Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on the series.**

My top 5 questions I’m dying to know the answers to on Cruel Summer are:

Can Mallory be trusted?

I’m still somewhere in the middle with the whole Kate vs. Jeanette debate, but how does Mallory fit into it all? I find it odd that she jumped sides and is now best friends with Kate, especially after she even admits that she used to hate her.

So, can we trust her?

I like Mallory a lot. I think she really brings a real and authentic quality to her character, but could she be the wild card making trouble?

It’s certainly possible and we still don’t really know why she and Jeanette stopped being friends.

The parents are also really suspect and Jeanette’s mom clearly has more secrets, but what else is she capable of?

I started to form some theories about Mallory after Jeanette talked about how Mallory wants to be in control and make everyone follow her ideas. When she left Jeanette high and dry after the CD incident, I started wondering more about her true intentions.

We’ll have to see how this plays out, but I always love a good twist!

How did Jeanette’s necklace end up with Kate?

Jeanette claims the necklace found isn’t hers, but how did Kate wind up with it? Did Jeanette leave it behind while going through Martin’s house? Maybe Martin found it and gave it to Kate as a token of his weird love for her?

I don’t know, but things aren’t adding up. Mallory could also have a part in this too, but I think this piece of evidence should not be ignored.

Were Kate and Martin romantically involved?

After that major reveal at the end of episode 7, we know that Kate went to Martin’s house willingly, which “changes everything,” according to Jeanette.

But we also witnessed Kate swooning over her stuffed animal and touching Martin’s hand, which gave out some signals. Sure, Martin should not take advantage of her period, but was there more to this relationship than we know?

If Jeanette thought that Kate was romantically involved with Martin (maybe she saw them previously together), she could have thought that Kate was cheating on Jamie with him and that could have caused her to flee the scene, but there is still a lot left to uncover here.

Did Jeanette actually see Kate?

It’s the initial question we were presented with during this mystery, but I’m still kind of wondering about it myself. I saw this really interesting theory online about there being some kind of two-way mirror in Martin’s house and we did see Jeanette with mirrors in one of the flash-forwards. Maybe Kate did see Jeanette, but Jeanette never saw her?

I also still think it’s possible that maybe Jeanette thought Kate was doing wrong by Jamie, but Jeanette seemed like an innocent girl who was just trying to fit in. Even though we are presented with some serious Single White Female vibes, Jeanette seems more stable than that and I’m not sure that’s what is actually happening here.

But why is she hiding that key?

Who is Annabelle?

This is my number one question. After Kate’s creepy campfire story about a girl named Annabelle, she learns from her therapy tapes that she saw Annabelle before she was rescued, and she also has some serious memory loss.

The obvious answer is that Annabelle is a version of Kate and maybe she had a psychotic break, which would also explain the memory loss.

But I really want there to be more to this story. Maybe there really was an Annabelle. We know that another girl came forward about Martin from a different school. What if he was keeping more than one girl prisoner?

Maybe she helped Kate?

If we want to go with the split personality route, maybe Martin is Annabelle?

I have a lot of theories about this and I really hope we devote the time to this question because it is the most interesting part of the mystery for me.

We have three episodes left and a lot of questions that are still unanswered, but I’m excited to reveal more pieces of the puzzle.

Spoiler-Free Review of “Who Killed Sara?” Season 2 on Netflix: Addicting in all the Right Ways

“The path to vengeance always leads to two graves…”

Who Killed Sara? season two premiered on Netflix on May 19th 2021 with eight episodes available to stream now. The series stars Manola Cardona, Alejandro Nones, Carolina Miranda, Ximena Lamadrid and Eugenio Siller. Each episode runs for approximately 40-45 minutes.

The Mexican crime series, ¿Quién mató a Sara? season 2 still focuses on Alex’s journey of revenge, but it also unlocks more secrets of Sara’s past as we learn that things were not as they seemed, leading to devastating consequences.

Who Killed Sara? season one was such a delightful surprise and was beyond binge-worthy, but can season two keep up the pace? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Thrills, reveals and cliffhangers during every episode.

Much like the first season, the second season also starts off with a bang. At the end of the first episode, I was literally hitting play so quickly to get to the next one and the show does a good job of replicating this clever formula during each episode to keep you coming back for more.

There are so many twists in the second season and the fast overall pace continued which made the second season just as binge-worthy as the first.

Pieces of the puzzle unlocked.

The first season aired in March and I was beyond thrilled to find out that we would get the second season so quickly. I had so many questions at the end of the first season and the second season helped us fill in the blanks by witnessing more of Sara’s past.

The flashbacks were necessary and important, as we started to piece together the mystery at hand while allowing us to connect with some of the other characters more.

The Cons:

Sub-plots and unnecessary fluff.

If you watched the first season of the series, then you know that you will be getting a lot of intense action, but you also will be getting some outrageous sub-plots and some unnecessary fluff and sex scenes. I think that the second season toned things down slightly, but some of the sub-plots were stronger than others…

Confusing time jumps.

The flashbacks to Sara and Alex’s past when they were teenagers made perfect sense to me and fit into each episode seamlessly. However, the second season also decided to add in time jumps during present day which were kind of confusing. We would witness an event and then in the next episode, see it from another character’s perspective, but I had to keep reminding myself about where we were in time and what was actually going on.

So am I in or out?

I’m in 100 percent!

I didn’t think that season two would be able to live up to season one and it exceeded my expectations. I watched all eight episodes in one day because I had to know what happened.

Who Killed Sara? is a binge-watcher’s dream. It is a non-stop thrill ride that will leave you guessing and wanting more with each episode.

The mystery is far from over based on that cliffhanger ending and I can’t wait for this show to return!

It looks like we should be getting a season three based on the message at the end of the credits, but we’ll have to wait for Netflix to confirm its release date.
