Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 6 episode 12: “We Turn the Page”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s The 100 season 6 episode 12, I learned that we can always try to “do better today than we did yesterday” and that it’s never too late to make amends.  Maybe we’ll make someone proud or maybe we’ll get a chance to say what we need to, but we can never fully prepare for the moments that come next.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Adjustment Protocol,” Clarke continues to pose as Josephine, hoping to create a distraction that will allow Bellamy and Octavia to get past the shield.  Meanwhile, Abby has a heartfelt chat with Raven, Murphy and Emori truly contemplate immortality, and Gabriel tries to make things right with the truth.  My top 5 moments from The 100 season 6 episode 12 are:

5

“I will kill you for this.”

When Abby sees Clarke, she is hopeful that her daughter is still present, but Clarke needs to keep up appearances and says, “Oh stop. I’m not her.”  Abby threatens Russell and tells him that she will kill him for this and she means business.  Poor Abby.  My heart honestly went out to her in this moment.  Even though she is consumed by grief, she still holds on to her strong will and integrity through it all.  Marcus would be proud Kabby fans!

4

“You’re fine until you’re not.”

Meanwhile, Bellamy and Octavia anxiously wait outside the shield, looking for their way into Sanctum.  They are with the Children of Gabriel and everyone is chanting “death to Primes,” but Bellamy continues to place the burden on himself.  Octavia tells him to have a little faith and perhaps that is exactly what he needs to hear.  Even though it will take a long time for these two to be completely OK, I thought this was a sweet moment and perhaps Octavia will be able to redeem herself after all.

3

“I’m proud of you, Murphy.”

Initially, Murphy and Emori decide to accept Russell’s offer of immortality, but everything comes with a price.  After Murphy witnesses what happens next, he has a change of heart and they decline the offer.  Clarke tells Murphy that she is proud of him and Murphy realizes that she is not Josephine, explaining that Josephine always called him John.

Clarke and Murphy have been through so much together and Murphy was always the first one to call her out and blame her for everything, but here in this moment, he sees things clearly and realizes that there is much more at stake here.  After all, can you truly have a meaningful life if you never die?  Like Clarke, I was extremely proud of Murphy here, but let’s hope this is enough to spark him into action.  We need all the help we can get now!

2

“It’s all a lie.”

Bellamy gets through to Priya when he threatens to destroy her son’s mind drive once and for all and she comes clean and tells all of Sanctum that everything is a lie.  The Primes are not divine and the truth can be a dangerous thing, but Russell refuses to go quietly, releasing the Red Sun toxin into the air, which creates a form of mass hysteria.  Priya is stabbed by Delilah’s mother, now realizing that her daughter is truly dead and everything is finally out in the open.

Now that Sanctum is basically at war, where will our favorite characters go to survive?  We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but we’re running out of places where they can go.  The Primes are looking to board the ship and come face to face with Indra and the others, so it looks like we are going to have a jam-packed season finale next week!

1

“I was focusing on what I lost and not what I have.”

Abby continues to try and protect Madi, injecting herself to keep her friends and family safe.  After all, “like mother, like daughter.”  Clarke and Abby also have a heartwarming moment, as Abby is relieved to discover that her daughter is actually still alive.  We also get to witness a beautiful moment between Abby and Raven.  Abby apologizes to Raven and tells her that she is her family, which brought tears to my eyes.  A lot of heartfelt speeches in one episode is never a good sign on The 100, however.

Russell turns the tables on Abby and decides to take her as his next host for Simone.  Simone now takes over Abby’s body and Clarke is overwhelmed with grief.  Clarke was able to still hold on once she had the mind drive in her own head, but is it possible for Abby to do the same?  I’m not sure, but I am beyond heartbroken and I am hoping that there is a chance that she can somehow still be OK.

Abby is smart and resourceful, so is it possible that she found a way out of this?  The “like mother, like daughter” comment comes to mind again here.  Is it possible that someone intervened and Abby is posing as Simone?  We’ll have to wait and see, but for now it looks like the real Abby is gone and I’m not sure I can handle that.  I’m still staying positive though!  May we meet again.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on The 100 in the comments section below.  Thanks for reading and happy viewing!

My performance of the week ending 7/27/19 on TV goes to…

Nicole Kidman as Celeste Wright on HBO’s Big Little Lies season two.  I am always impressed with Nicole Kidman in every role, but her performance in Big Little Lies has been incredible over the past two seasons.  While I have some mixed thoughts on season two overall, Nicole’s performance continued to send chills down my spine.  It’s almost like you could feel everything that she was feeling, as she completely embodied the character of Celeste.  Please note some spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on both seasons.

Celeste is so broken and fragile, especially after everything she has recently gone through.  In season two, it almost seems like she is sleepwalking through her life until she gets a huge wake up call.  And yet, through all the mistakes, she is still able to ultimately channel her inner strength and stand up in front of the court to fight for her sons.  Some of Celeste’s actions are questionable and it’s clear that she does need some help, but she loves her children unconditionally and she refuses to be a victim here.

It was unsettling and heartbreaking to witness what Celeste had to go through on the stand, but she somehow decides to defend herself, taking matters into her own hands.  Celeste cross examines her mother-in-law, who is played brilliantly by Meryl Streep, but her mother-in-law definitely knows how to cross boundaries and she pushes a lot of buttons along the way.

Celeste maintains her composure and sets the record straight, bringing to light some interesting revelations.  In the season two finale, I was utterly and completely captivated by Nicole’s performance.  Celeste almost reminded me of a bird with a broken wing, now discovering that she can fly again, which was inspiring to watch.

What’s next for Celeste?  We’ll have to wait and see and I am uncertain if we will see any future episodes of the series.  We are left with another cliffhanger, although it certainly did not have the shock factor of the season one finale, but I am hoping that Celeste uses this win to also recognize that she does need help so that she can truly be there for her children.  Either way, Nicole’s performance is note-worthy and even though season two did not compare to season one for me, she continued to hold my undivided attention, proving to be a worthy actress in every single role.

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Light as a Feather” Season 2 Part 1 on Hulu: “Slumber Party with a Serial Killer…what can go wrong?”

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

So maybe a slumber party with a serial killer isn’t the best idea, especially when you and your friends are being stalked by an evil supernatural force that has a thing for games, but where would be the fun in that?  After the addicting and fun premiere of Light as a Feather season 1, I have been anxiously waiting for new episodes to arrive and they are finally here!  If you are craving some Pretty Little Liars drama mixed in with an I Know What You Did Last Summer feel, then you are in the right place!

Light as a Feather is based on the popular Wattpad story written by Zoe Aarsen.  In season 1, five teenage girls head out to a graveyard for some underage drinking and a seemingly harmless game of Light as a Feather.  If you are not familiar with the popular slumber party game, now might be a good time to re-visit the film, The Craft, which is one of my personal favorites as well.

During the game, each girl takes a turn and their death is described to them in detail.  Things start to get weird when the girls begin dying exactly as it was determined in the game.  McKenna Brady and her friends realize that they are being targeted by something supernatural, but is there a way to end the game without hurting others in the process?

Season 2 still centers around McKenna Brady, who now inherits the burden of carrying out the game, which leads to more players, more twists, and of course…more drama.  Season 2 will feature 16 episodes in total.  The first 8 episodes have been released on Hulu and are currently streaming as of July 26th 2019.  The remaining 8 episodes will be released October 4th 2019 on Hulu.

The show stars Liana Liberato, Haley Ramm, Brianne Tju, and Jordan Rodrigues.  We also get several new characters introduced into the mix, including characters played by The Walking Dead’s Katelyn Nacon and Angel and Dexter’s Julie Benz, who I am always happy to see!  Season 2 has a lot to live up to, but can it hold steady and keep the game going?  Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Light as a feather 7 27 4

The performances of Haley Ramm (Violet), Liana Liberato (McKenna), and Brianne Tju (Alex).

It’s not easy living up to the success of season 1, but these three ladies rock!  They truly embrace their characters, which made the watch much more enjoyable for me.  Plus, while the first season focused more on the aspects of the game, we get some needed character growth and development in season 2.  I was particularly interested in Violet’s backstory, who is becoming one of my favorite female antagonists on TV and Ramm’s portrayal of her is fantastic!

Fast paced episodes and more cliffhangers!

I’ll say this, Light as a Feather does not disappoint when it comes to keeping you on the edge of your seat.  Season 2 provides us with more twists and the end of episode 8 will immediately have you wanting more.  I still thoroughly enjoyed the quick episodes, which run about 25-30 minutes in length, which means you can easily breeze through and binge-watch the first part of season 2 in about 4 hours, which comes in handy when you have a lot of other shows to watch!  This show can easily drag certain things out for too long so I appreciated that we kept the short episodes going and I enjoyed a lot of the twists thrown our way, which made the game and plot interesting enough for me.

The Cons:

Light as a feather 7 27

A lot of teenage drama.

I don’t personally mind watching some teenage drama and I am a fan of shows like PLL, but I also want to balance in the supernatural threat evenly with the social drama going on.  There are new relationships forming, break-ups, and arguments among friends, but it sometimes felt like our characters were more worried about these social issues rather than the supernatural one that could actually threaten their lives and everyone they care about…

Slow start to the game.

The first three episodes provide us with a lot of setup and things really don’t start taking off until episode 4.  Since we only have 8 episodes right now, that was slightly disappointing.  We also see the game from McKenna’s perspective and she deals with blackouts, which means we only get bits and pieces of the actual game, which made the threats to the new players slightly underwhelming for me.  There was a really creepy and gruesome vibe in season 1 and I was hoping that would continue in season 2, but I only saw some glimmers of it and I guess I just wanted to see more of the actual Light as a Feather game.

So am I in or out?

I am still a huge fan of the series and I will continue to watch it, but I was slightly disappointed with season 2.  The premise of this show makes it difficult to keep it new and fresh and I totally understand that, but I think that season 2 needed to find a better balance between the supernatural game and the teenage drama.  We still have the second half of season 2 and we are left with another huge cliffhanger, so I will definitely be tuning in to find out what happens next.

Overall, perhaps I set my expectations too high for season 2, but it was still an entertaining watch for me.  It just didn’t hold a candle to season 1.  If you enjoyed season 1, I still recommend that you watch season 2, but I am interested to find out what other fans think as well.  The game is far from over and it seems like we may explore the origins of it further, which has a lot of potential.  Plus, you never know which side Violet is going to end up on and McKenna has her own inner turmoil to deal with, so there is a lot left to uncover.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Light as a Feather in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 6 episode 6: “I Think We’ll Be Stronger Together”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 6 episode 6, I realized that home is where the heart is and in this case, home is where your publishing family is.  Sometimes all we need is a little compromise in order for everyone to be happy.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Merger, She Wrote,” Liza and Charles are invited to a mind altering retreat and bump into an unexpected guest.  Meanwhile, Kelsey and Zane talk things out, Diana shows off a hidden talent, and Maggie tries to get her mojo back.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 6 episode 6 are:

5

“I wish there was a way we could work together…”

In this episode, Liza approaches Charles about a potential “big bang boom merger,” hoping that there is some way for everyone to get along and work together.  It seems like a good idea since Charles essentially gets the profit from both publishing houses, but Charles initially proposes that Liza come work for him at Mercury instead.  Liza does not think that she can do that to Kelsey, explaining that their working relationship is also a friendship.  It’s clear that Liza does not want to hurt anyone’s feelings here, but is there another solution?

4

“The problem is you didn’t audition.”

The romance author Millennial snagged is auditioning voice actresses for her new book, but no one seems to really get the role right.  That is, until Diana starts reading from the book and everyone realizes that she is absolutely perfect for this.  Diana seems hesitant at first, but starts to really try out her husky voice to enhance the experience and I think she may have found her true calling!

3

“And where does that leave us?”

During the voice recording, Zane walks in with Audrey Colbert, ready to dazzle Kelsey.  Only Audrey’s reading leaves a lot to be desired.  Zane thinks that perhaps she just needs to warm up and suggests trying it again with more feeling, which prompts Audrey to provide us with an over-the-top extremely emotional reading, which is laugh out loud funny.  Perhaps Kelsey dodged a bullet with this one after all and we get to witness an adorable moment between Kelsey and Zane afterwards, as they share a drink together and discuss their potential future.  I’m still shipping these two together, but it looks like they have more obstacles headed their way soon.

2

“You have to experience microdosing first hand.”

Liza and Charles both get invited to an interesting retreat by a potential new author and get an unexpected surprise when they discover that Josh is there as well.  Liza’s dose has some interesting effects, as she starts to see Charles and Josh practically morphing into one another, leading to a show stopping dance number with…a plant.  Perhaps microdosing is not for Liza after all, but it does lead to some interesting questions.  Is Liza truly over Josh?  It seems like this love triangle hasn’t vanished completely just yet, but the Charliza fan in me is still on Team Charles.

1

“I want to come home.”

It seems like the retreat also gets Charles thinking, but in a different way, as he starts to truly contemplate the importance of family.  Charles asks Kelsey to buy Mercury…for one dollar.  He wants to return as an editor and also work with Liza with their relationship out in the open.  Everyone seems to be on board and I’m glad our favorite publishing family is back together, but where will this leave Zane?  Can he truly handle having Kelsey as his boss?  We’ll have to see how this plays out, but I’m not certain that the drama is over just yet.  Also, congratulations to Younger for being renewed for season 7!  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 6 episode 11: “For Monty”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s The 100 season 6 episode 11, I learned that “mistakes are forgivable. Not learning from them isn’t.”  But what if we continue to make the same mistakes again and again?  Is there any chance that we can obtain that fresh start or are we destined to repeat our biggest regrets?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Ashes to Ashes,” Madi plays a dangerous game of chess with the Dark Commander, but will her quest for revenge consume her?  Meanwhile, Clarke and Bellamy try to come up with a way to save their friends, Echo revisits her past, and Octavia attempts to make amends with her brother.  My top 5 moments from The 100 season 6 episode 11 are:

5

“I want you to rule this world.”

The Dark Commander is not releasing his hold on Madi anytime soon, as he continues to manipulate her.  A glimmer of Madi still remains; however, choosing to hurt Jackson rather than kill him.  Madi is now being held captive, as her bone marrow is used to make Nightblood, but it’s only a matter of time before she breaks free.  Madi is focusing her anger on getting revenge for Clarke, but will Clarke be able to stop her before she loses herself completely to darkness?  The Dark Commander wants her to destroy everything and everyone, but what is his end game in this?  Will Madi’s path of destruction somehow free him in the process?  It seems that he is contained for now, but I am very concerned for our girl Madi!

4

“You’re a slippery one.”

Russell Lightbourne decides to use Murphy’s skills to get his daughter back, recognizing that Murphy typically does things that will benefit him in some way.  Murphy is no stranger to playing both sides, but when Russell threatens to harm Emori if John fails, it seems the stakes are a bit higher for our favorite bad boy.  Murphy seems to want to still help his friends, as he tries to tell Bellamy what is going on, but will Murphy be able to make a selfless choice in the end?  We’ll have to wait and see!

3

“Hesitation is death.”

Echo is taken prisoner and Russell decides that she will be the first host used to test the Nightblood experiment and will be Simone’s new home.  Echo refuses to give up and even stalls by revealing a bit about her own past, which was actually really interesting to see.  As a child, she killed her friend to save her own life and took on her identity as “Echo,” working as an assassin for the Queen.  Echo is no stranger to having her previous life wiped clean, but she clearly took her lesson of “hesitation is death” seriously, as she kills Ryker before he can turn the tables on her again.  Echo is now a Nightblood, which makes her a target, but she is definitely someone I would want to have on my side.

2

“I need you in my life.”

Bellamy and Octavia finally get a chance to catch up in this episode and Octavia takes this time to try and make amends.  Octavia explains that Bellamy was right for leaving her behind and says that everything’s changed.  Octavia’s journey of self-reflection through the Anomaly has clearly had a major influence on her, but Bellamy is treading carefully here.  Bellamy has been burned by Octavia before, but he does tell her that she is still his sister…just not his responsibility.

Octavia may not be looking for forgiveness, but she does want to make things right.  She also says that Diyoza must have been killed by the Anomaly, but is that really true?  Something tells me we haven’t seen the last of Diyoza.  Either way, this was an important moment between Bellamy and Octavia.  I am looking forward to witnessing more of her character transformation, but is it possible that Blodreina is truly gone for good?

1

“So I won’t fail.”

Clarke is so grateful to Bellamy for saving her, but now they also have to save their friends.  Go Team Bellarke!  Bellamy is concerned now that their bargaining mind drive is gone, but Clarke thinks that she can pose as Josephine.  Bellamy is clearly worried about this plan, but we know that our girl Clarke can do anything she puts her mind to.  Clarke and Bellamy are both trying to do better and agree to execute the plan “for Monty,” hoping to make him proud and taking his words to heart.

Clarke is actually pretty convincing as Josephine, but things get a little bit complicated when she sees what is happening with Madi.  She lies to her and tells her that Clarke is gone, which is only going to fuel Madi’s fire, but we’ll have to see how long Clarke can keep this charade going.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on The 100 in the comments section below.  Thanks for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 episode 8: “Is Anybody Out There?”

Happy Monday TV fans!  After watching AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 8, I realized that if you haven’t seen a whole lot of good lately, you could have some coming your way, but nothing is ever guaranteed when you are trying to survive during the zombie apocalypse.  Even when all hope seems to be lost, you need to find a reason to live and when you find that reason…hold on to it as long as you can!  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “Is Anybody Out There?” Alicia, Morgan, and Grace deal with a walker horde looking to hitch a ride on their flight.  Meanwhile, June makes John a promise, and Sarah and Wendell try to get the runway ready, but run into a few issues of their own.  My top 5 moments from Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 8 are:

5

“You’re going to be OK.”

In the beginning of the episode, Alicia finally gets a break to take a quick hot shower, only it’s to scrub down after being potentially exposed to a radioactive walker.  Alicia’s favorite weapon is in the clear, but what about Alicia?  Grace tells her that they don’t know yet and they have a bigger problem to worry about now that the alarm has sounded, but it looks like Alicia’s fate has yet to be determined.  I’m remaining positive, but I would love to get some confirmation soon that she is in perfect health.  Fingers crossed!

4

“I’m not losing at the game of life!

Even though Sarah is dealing with a lot of pressure trying to get the runway ready for our friends, she keeps the laughs coming.  We get to see Logan again in this episode and Sarah asks him for help, but he doesn’t seem too inclined to get involved.  Sarah warns him that if he calls her “sweetheart” again, he’s going to get a nice shiner to match the one he already has, but luckily Dan the Man later shows up with perfect timing!  As if he is a Christmas miracle himself, he has brought along quite a few strings of Christmas lights for the runway, but will it work?  It’s great to see Dan the Man back in action and even Skidmark is super happy to be reunited with him, which was absolutely adorable!  More Skidmark screen time when new episodes return please!

3

“From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I found my reason to live.”

John and Dwight worry that they might not be able to make it to the plane in time and John radios over to June and asks her to promise him that she will take off whether he is there or not.  June does not want to leave without her beloved John, but she does make the promise.  It looks like John’s luck hasn’t run out just yet; however, as he finds the car that Sherry left and they make it to the plane with perfect timing.

After John gets on board, he tells June that there are still so many things he wants to tell her and he proposes to June using one of his hard candy wrappers, which was so incredibly beautiful and romantic.  Of course June says yes and I was literally jumping up and down cheering for these two.  Against all odds, these two continue to give me hope and I can’t get enough of them.  Somehow I feel like Dan the Man is going to officiate the wedding, but this was such an important moment for these two characters and I continue to ship them together so much!

2

“We are still standing!”

We have liftoff!  Al takes in some nice scenery after they lose the hitchhiking walkers from the back of the plane and fly over the ominous cloud headed straight toward them, but they still have to land the plane successfully.  The Christmas light runway is up and running, but Wendell runs into some trouble when a few walkers make their way over to him.  Wendell refuses to give up and crawls over to turn the switch back on and the plane is able to land without anyone getting hurt.  Luckily Wendell is OK as well and he is the hero of the day for me!

Everyone is surprisingly still standing and we even get a touching moment between Daniel and Alicia, who are finally reunited.  Dan the Man also takes a minute to tell Victor that he was wrong and it looks like everything is back to normal for our favorite characters.  Only we know that Logan is still lurking around and of course he now shows up to crash the welcome party.

1

“You’re saying we should trust you?”

Logan is ready to chat with our group and interrupts someone trying to radio over to Morgan for help.  Logan shows up in person and explains that they need to actually be able to get to the people they want to help and that they are not going to be able to.  Of course Logan has a plan and tells the group that Clayton had a backup plan for this and kept a resource site somewhere else, but the location is in his journal.  Luciana perhaps over shares and reveals that they do have the journal and it seems like they are all going to work together to find this mysterious resource location.  Logan claims he is trying to make up for what he did, but is he really?

I don’t trust Logan for one second and it seems like he does not get along very well with this other group so I’m not sure that our favorite characters should get involved here, but they won’t be able to help many others if they can’t get to them.  Is this a trap?  We’ll have to wait and see, but I’m interested to see how this plays out for the second half of the season, as new episodes return August 11th 2019.  Also, congrats to Fear TWD for being renewed for season 6!  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Fear the Walking Dead in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

My performance of the week ending 7/20/19 on TV goes to…

Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars on Hulu’s Veronica Mars season 4.  I have been a huge fan of Kristen Bell since the very start of the Veronica Mars series and the show still has a secure spot in my top 5 series of all time.  I was so disappointed when the show ended after three seasons, but was pleased when fans finally got to see the movie and I have been counting the days until the release of season 4 on Hulu, which surprise….it’s out a week early!!!!! What???!!!!

I’m so glad I finished my re-watch of the series early so that I can binge-watch all weekend and I have to say that Kristen Bell is still as charming as ever.  Veronica Mars may have more of a mature feel now, but that makes sense since we aren’t in high school anymore.  Veronica still sticks to her roots, challenging authority, taking chances, and speaking her mind, which brings quite a few laughs along the way.  She may be a marshmallow now, but she is also quite the bad-ass and I am having so much fun watching the new season.  **Please note spoilers have been left out for your convenience so feel free to read on!

One of the reasons why I love Veronica Mars so much as a character is because she is far from perfect.  Sure, she tends to be the one to solve the case and she often notices clues before the local Sheriff’s office, but she is also guarded with major trust issues, which can get in the way of some of her friendships and relationships.  Veronica has a supporting father, some great friendships, and an amazing boyfriend, but she tends to do things on her own.

Some of my favorite moments with her are when she lets that guard down and is finally vulnerable, revealing her doubts and insecurities.  I connect with her so much and my heart has broken along with hers over the years.  Through it all, Veronica Mars continues to stay true to herself, reminding us that our purpose is sometimes right in front of us.

What’s next for Veronica Mars?  We’ll have to wait and see, but I’m wondering if a season 5 is possible?  The premise of the show allows a new case or mystery to set the scene and I have been loving the fun cameos and nostalgia sprinkled in across season 4. I’ll always be a Veronica Mars fan for life and Kristen Bell’s performance is real, inspiring, and super fun too!  If you haven’t seen the show yet, all of the episodes (seasons 1-4) are now streaming on Hulu and you can watch the movie on HBO GO/Now.  That’s all for now Marshmallows!  Enjoy the binge-watch!

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 6 episode 5: “Let the Games Begin”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 6 episode 5, I realized that healthy competition is not necessarily a bad thing, but when it comes to blurring the lines between your personal and professional life, things can get a bit complicated.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Stiff Competition,” Liza and Charles continue to compete over authors, which begins to put a strain on their relationship.  Meanwhile, Kelsey and Diana attempt to channel their rage, and Lauren puts her publicist skills to the test with Josh’s daughter.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 6 episode 5 are:

5

“Feisty isn’t the F word I would use…”

In this episode, the competition between Charliza initially seems kind of fun and spicy, but this mood quickly changes when the competition gets real.  Liza and Charles are both very convincing and are up for the challenge, but winning isn’t always everything…especially if it gets in the way of our favorite ship on the show!

4

“Charles is hot and I’m not.”

Poor Kelsey.  After losing some of her hair in last week’s episode, she is now placed toward the bottom of a hot in publishing list, as Charles is climbing up to the top.  Charles does look quite dashing in his picture and they somehow decided to just use a cropped photo of Kelsey’s head, which makes her a “floating tragedy,” according to Diana.  Kelsey has had enough and is not ready to hand over her authors to Charles, but this is definitely not helping her ease her stress.

3

“We have a lot of rage.”

Liza tries to maintain a positive spin on everything, realizing that she is constantly in the middle here and decides to have Kelsey and Diana accompany her to watch a talented young musician, who she has been in contact with for months about her book.  It looks like things are going well, but Charles is there and we find out that he is the one that provided the girl with her scholarship, so it initially looks like our ladies are out of luck here.

Kelsey and Diana are over it and try to channel some of their rage by throwing axes, but things get interesting when the restroom is out of order and Diana has to pee.  As luck would have it, a police officer catches Diana urinating outside and Kelsey is still holding on to the ax.  They hilariously end up in jail, but luckily Enzo is there to bail them out.  I love when Kelsey and Diana team up.  These two are so funny and I hope we get some more screen time with them together soon!

2

“Gemma is following me on Insta…”

Lauren may have just found her golden ticket, as she starts an Instagram page for Josh’s baby daughter, Gemma.  @GemmaLoves already has 5000 followers in a day and everyone seems to be a fan.  Josh is initially skeptical about exploiting his daughter, but is ultimately on board when he realizes some of the perks.  Plus, it’s kind of fun!  Lauren and Josh take some absolutely adorable pictures of Gemma and I am a fan for sure.  I thought this was really cute and it gave us some much needed screen time with fan favorite Lauren, so that’s always a plus!

1

“If it’s all you, then there’s no room for us.”

Even though Charles is proving to be a tough competitor, he does confide in Liza about the possibility of losing his investment, explaining that he is essentially gambling it all for this risk.  Liza understands and she doesn’t want anyone to lose, but even Kelsey tells her that she will need to choose a side.  Later on, Charles congratulates Liza on winning over the author, but reminds her that he is essentially still winning since it is his father’s company, which doesn’t sit too well with Liza.

When Charles comes over, he also seems surprised to see Liza with Josh and his baby and asks her if he is competing with him.  I don’t question Liza’s feelings or loyalty to Charles, but she ultimately walks away from him after reminding him that “if it’s all you, then there’s no room for us.”  This is definitely not the end for Charliza, but it looks like Liza will need to decide what to do since she is essentially still in the middle here.  What will she decide?  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 6 episode 10: “Can’t Do This Forever”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s The 100 season 6 episode 10, I realized that “we can let the bad things that happened to us define who we are or we can define who we are.”  But it doesn’t hurt to have a little help or reminder from the people who love us every now and again.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Matryoshka,” the Lightbournes are out for revenge, which puts everyone in danger.  Meanwhile, Josephine and Clarke continue to struggle to survive and Madi refuses to listen to reason.  My top 5 moments from The 100 season 6 episode 10 are:

5

“The dream of Sanctum is already dead.”

After Marcus’s sacrifice, the Lightbournes are not happy and hold Abby and Raven as prisoners.  Simone decides to be extra cruel and tells Abby that her daughter is dead, which is not exactly true.  Abby has just lost the love of her life and the last thing she needs to hear right now is that her daughter is dead too.  Russell fears that the truth about the Primes is going to spread to his people and places Sanctum under lock down as a precaution.  Simone is out for blood and wants an execution, which puts the lives of our favorite characters in immediate danger, especially after Madi’s Dark Commander killing spree.

4

“The barrier between our minds is breaking down.”

Clarke and Josephine are running out of time and it looks like their only option is to team up at this point.  I’m not sure they will ever be friends, even though Josephine seems to think that they are somehow, but Clarke understands the importance of survival and begins to improvise to save them some time by deleting some of Josephine’s memories.  We get a glimpse into Josephine and Gabriel’s past and Clarke shows some sympathy here, but Josephine cannot be trusted and this body is not big enough for the both of them.

3

“Just take the flame out of her head.”

Madi continues to unravel in this episode, still under the control of Sheidheda, the Dark Commander.  Gaia is taken prisoner as well and recognizes the threat, but Abby will not allow anyone to hurt a child.  However, there is a sleeping army waiting for Madi’s command, which is not to be taken lightly, but perhaps there is another way.  Raven thinks that Sheidheda can be deleted, but let’s hope she is able to do this before Madi strikes again.

2

“The answer’s not immortality…it’s morality.”

Well said, Raven and perhaps this is just the advice Murphy needs right now, as his betrayal is about to catch up to him.  The group initially thinks that only one person will be executed and of course, Murphy is volunteered as tribute.  However, after a member of Sanctum stabs Simone, Russell is out for blood and it is announced that the entire group will be burned at the stake.

Echo can’t save everyone with her bow and arrow, but luckily a light bulb goes off in Murphy’s head, explaining to Russell that bone marrow can be used to make someone a Nightblood.  Abby jumps on board here and explains that she has the formula, which at least gets them 24 hours to convince Russell.  Our characters are safe, but Russell decides to make an example out of the man who stabbed his wife, brutally burning him alive.  It may have initially seemed like Simone was the bad guy, but Russell has a dangerous side as well.

1

“I’m not letting you go!”

When Josephine’s guards show up, it looks like Clarke is out of luck, but Bellamy is there to save the day!  Josephine is disgusted by the cliche, but he uses this as an opportunity to get a message to Russell, hoping to bargain with Josephine’s mind drive.  Bellamy and Octavia finally reunite briefly, but they need to put this on hold since Clarke’s life is in immediate danger.  Gabriel seems willing to perform the procedure to remove the drive, but he does not want to live forever anymore, explaining to Josephine that they already had their time together even though he has loved her for centuries.

During the procedure, Josephine tries to hide in the mesh of Clarke’s brain, hoping to eliminate her once and for all, but Bellamy refuses to give up on Clarke and tells her to fight.  Clarke destroys Josephine and wakes up, just in time for us to witness an absolutely swoon-worthy embrace between Bellarke!  Yay!  I’ll take any Bellarke moment I can get and this was worth the wait.  It’s great to have our girl back, but what will Russell do now that Josephine is gone?  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on The 100 in the comments section below.  Thanks for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 episode 7: “I’ll Hold Them Off”

Happy Monday TV fans!  After watching AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 7, I realized that “all life is precious,” but it’s important to value your own life just as much as the lives of the people around you.  Sometimes it may seem like sacrifice is the answer, but “impossible shit” still happens so it’s important to keep believing.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Still Standing,” Alicia continues to take out walkers like a boss, desperately trying to get Annie and the other kids to come with her.  Meanwhile, Morgan tries to help Victor and Charlie, and Al opens up to June.  My top 5 moments from Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 7 are:

5

“We are both exactly where we’re supposed to be.”

In the beginning of the episode, Alicia takes out the walkers in her way and tries to get through to Annie and the kids.  She explains that she just wants to help, but Annie tells her that she never should have come there.  Meanwhile, Morgan tries to reach Victor and Charlie, who get creative when it comes to setting up a barrier to protect themselves against the radioactive walkers.  Alicia continued to impress me with her perseverance, but Annie was starting to really get on my nerves.  Alicia has placed herself in danger repeatedly to help these children, but is the risk worth it?

4

“I lied to you…”

We check in with John and Dwight for a little while and John continues to have second thoughts about showing Dwight the letter from Sherry.  However, he eventually hands him the letter and apologizes for not giving it to him sooner.  Dwight actually handles it remarkably well and focuses on the fact that he believes that Sherry is still alive.  He even points out that “impossible shit happens” so perhaps he will see Sherry again one day, but it doesn’t look that is going to happen anytime soon, as Dwight now realizes that he needs to help John.  I am really enjoying the friendship and bond between these two and I hope we continue to get some screen time for them.

3

“You are not dead yet.”

Morgan continues to let positivity be his guide, as he tries to help his friends.  After taking a quick tour of Grace’s house before using her truck, Morgan decides to suit up in his hazmat suit so that he can help Grace.  The generator has failed and they are running out of time, but Morgan refuses to give up on her, reminding her that her life matters.

Grace also gives Morgan some advice as well and tells him that “you think everyone’s life is more important than yours” and she may be on to something here.  It seems like both Morgan and Alicia are focusing so much on helping others that they are forgetting about their own lives in the process.  Morgan has been giving out so much advice in season 5 and I thought it was necessary and spot on for Grace to return the favor here.

2

“What do you say to someone who is missing a piece of themselves?”

One of my absolute favorite moments was when we took some time to follow Al and June.  The plane is out of fuel, but luckily Al knows where to find some after her encounter with Isabelle.  Al finally takes June up on her offer and opens up to her about meeting Isabelle.  Of course she doesn’t tell her everything, but she does take the time to explain that she felt something she hadn’t felt in a long time, but knows that she will never see her again.

June’s advice really touched me.  She tells Al that when she thought she would never seen John again, she was grateful for the time they spent together.  She chooses to still believe and tells Al that she will see Isabelle again one day.  While I’m not sure that we will see Isabelle anytime soon, I thought this moment was so real and touching.  It really spoke to me and I’m hoping that June and John are not separated again because I can’t handle it!

1

“I don’t know what you did but I know you made up for it.”

A group of walkers begin to get through Annie’s perimeter and the children are in immediate danger.  Max and Dylan beg Annie to just let Alicia help and she finally agrees.  Alicia runs across the bridge like a boss and takes out walkers left and right.  You can’t help rooting for her in moments like these, as she is a fighter and a complete bad-ass!  However, our girl Alicia is not invincible and she ends up taking out a radioactive walker.  The blood reaches her face and she recognizes that she has just been exposed here.

Alicia doesn’t give up; however, as she continues to give the kids a chance to get to safety.  Morgan radios over to Alicia at the end of the episode and she lies and tells him that she’s OK.  Morgan tells her that it’s time they start living their own lives in addition to helping others and Alicia agrees, realizing that perhaps she doesn’t have too much living left.

Alicia Clark is the heart and soul of this show and she is played brilliantly by Alycia Debnam-Carey.  She continues to impress me again and again and I am wondering what this means for the fate of her character.  Is there any chance that Alicia will be OK?  I’m not so sure, but I’m holding on to the impossible hope that she will be OK somehow.  Maybe the radioactive walker was marked in error or perhaps there is a chance that the blood was somehow not contaminated?

Alicia is the last Clark standing and I’m not sure that I can handle a world without her.  It was heartbreaking enough losing her as Lexa on The 100 and I can’t do it again here!  It looks like we have a lot of action coming our way in episode 8 now that the alarms have sounded, so we will have to stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Fear the Walking Dead in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
