Spoiler-Free Review of “Baghead” on Shudder: Watered Down Version of “Talk to Me”

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“You can’t escape this place…”

Baghead released on Shudder on April 5th 2024. It had an initial release back in December 2023. The supernatural horror film stars Freya Allan, Ruby Barker, Jeremy Irvine, Peter Mullan, and Saffron Burrows. It runs for approximately an hour and thirty-five minutes.

Iris inherits a run-down pub from her deceased father and quickly discovers that there is a supernatural being in the basement that can allow others to speak with the dead.

Here is the trailer:

Baghead has an eerie premise and a worthy cast, but does it do enough to earn a watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Shudder

A chilling premise.

Similar to Talk to Me, this film explored the dangers of reaching out to the dead and the consequences that can occur as a result. I was really intrigued by this entry and I appreciated that it tried to give the audience enough history behind the supernatural being. The effort was definitely there and there were some freaky moments sprinkled in.

Images courtesy of Shudder

Welcome to horror, Freya Allan!

I’m already a fan of hers from The Witcher and I actually really liked her in this film. I hope to see her in more horror entries soon because I think she can really excel in this genre. Her performance pulled me in enough even though I needed a bit more layers to her character.

The rest of the cast was decent enough as well.

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Shudder

Needed more of an edge.

This movie wasn’t bad, but I think it could have been so much better. It had all the ingredients to become a truly creepy entry in the supernatural horror genre and it fell short because of dull pacing, lack of proper character development, and a wishy-washy ending.

A lot of the jump scares felt silly and misplaced. I also wanted a lot more development for the character of Iris and more of an understanding of her relationship with her best friend. She seemed helpful enough, but I wasn’t super invested because I didn’t understand what the two of them had been through together as friends.

I really wanted a lot more from the ending and while there were a few twists and surprises thrown our way, they just felt mediocre and forced.

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Shudder

I’m 50/50 on this one…

There were some glimmers of creepy goodness within this film, but it took too long to get anywhere and a lot felt underdeveloped, which was disappointing.

Freya Allan did a good enough job; however, and deserves more horror films to star in.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Baghead in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Witcher” Season 3 on Netflix: Magical and Heartfelt!

*This is a spoiler-free review for season 3 so feel free to read on!*

“The world is changing…”

The Witcher season 3 premiered on Netflix on June 29th 2023 with five episodes available to stream now. Volume 2 (featuring three episodes) will release on July 27th 2023. The fantasy action series stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, and Joey Batey. Each episode is approximately 55-60 minutes.

Geralt of Rivia works with Yennefer to protect Ciri against numerous threats in Henry Cavill’s final season on the show.

Here is the trailer:

The Witcher keeps the action and magic coming while our favorite characters discover more about themselves than ever before. ls season three worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Netflix

The moments between the core four are pure magic!

I honestly love when Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and Jaskier are all together. That’s when the show is the strongest, but we know it’s always inevitable for them to be separated during the episodes.

We’ve already seen some truly heartfelt moments between Geralt and Ciri and they continue in season three, but I was most touched by the forming bond between Ciri and Yennefer. Family is such a strong theme throughout this season and I was truly touched during certain moments.

Plus we got some fun moments between Geralt and Jaskier (reminding me of season one) and the will-they-won’t-they romance between Geralt and Yennefer kept me invested as well. No spoilers, but they kept things hot on that dance floor! Wow!

Images courtesy of Netflix

Action and monsters galore.

Even though this season felt more character driven to me (which I loved), there were still plenty of fight scenes and lots of action. Geralt is a bad-ass and Yennefer and Ciri showed off their skills as well, bringing us a delightful mix of blood and magic!

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Netflix

The sub-plots continue…

This should come as no surprise since it’s always my one con for this series. The elves and other characters took up too much time for me. I personally prefer the moments between our main characters, but there were a few supporting characters that had some potential.

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in!

Season three is entertaining, jam-packed with action, and truly spell-binding. I absolutely love these characters and I’m so happy they are each getting the screen time they deserve.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Witcher (season three) in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking my Top 20 Television Shows of 2021: Which Shows Made The Cut?

It’s that time of year again! As we get closer and closer to approaching 2022, I thought it would be the perfect time to count down my Top 20 TV Shows of 2021.

While some returning shows continued strong, others fell off slightly. Meanwhile, some other new shows completely captivated my attention, paving their way into my top 20.

Without any further delay, let’s get to my list!

My Top 20 Television Shows of 2021 are:

20

Shadow and Bone

Based on the popular book, this fantasy series packed a punch in a good way. There was a lot to keep track of in this magical world, but plenty to be excited about, making this a great binge-watch with terrific characters.

19

The Sex Lives of College Girls

This show was such a pleasant surprise. It had an unrated Mean Girls vibe and was actually really funny and charming. I am so thrilled that this show got picked up for a second season and I can’t wait to see more!

18

Kevin Can F… Himself

One of the most unique shows I have ever watched! I really thought this show was genius and it had such an interesting and dark concept. If you are looking for something new and different, give this show a whirl. It’s worth it!

17

Panic

I really loved this show so much. I thought it was going to be really gimmicky and instead it was so addicting! The dynamic between the characters was fantastic and there was a romance brewing to swoon over and then some! I’m really disappointed it wasn’t picked up for a second season, but I think things wrap up enough in the first season to satisfy fans for the most part.

16

Hawkeye

This show had the perfect mix of action and humor. This unlikely partnership was actually really sweet and I thought that the show had a nice wholesome vibe that is family friendly. Plus, the dog is awesome! What’s not to love?

15

My Name

One of the most powerful female characters I have seen on television in a long time! This revenge series was so gritty and consuming. It brought up so many emotions, but I was there for the journey and I’m really glad that I gave this show a chance!

14

Yellowjackets

Dark and twisted with a cast to die for! This series is very much LOST meets The Wilds, but it has a lot of reveals still remaining. The past and present collide in this addicting series and I’m excited to see what season two brings to the table as well!

13

Hellbound

This South Korean horror drama series may be one of the most disturbing things I have ever watched, brought to us from the director of Train to Busan. In a lot of ways, this show is about how dangerous misguided faith in the wrong hands can be, as it shows how easily humanity can fall apart when real fear comes into play.

12

Who Killed Sara? (Seasons 1 and 2)

This show is the definition of a guilty pleasure thriller. There is the perfect blend of soap-opera drama mixed in with a compelling murder mystery that will throw so many twists and turns at you, that you will completely dismiss how ridiculous some of them are and just enjoy the ride.

One of the most addicting series of the year for sure!

11

Dexter: New Blood

I didn’t really know what to expect with this new series, but wow it has been absolutely brilliant! The show managed to bring back the original vibe of the series while creating something new and relevant for Dexter without overdoing it. I’m completely hooked!

10

You (season 3)

My favorite season yet! The move to the suburbs was the right call for our favorite serial killers. The dynamic between Joe and Love really made this season exceptional and I was invested the entire time! Talk about a binge-watcher’s dream!

9

Mare of Easttown

Emotionally stirring, an out-of-this-world performance by Kate Winslet, a heartfelt partnership, and a compelling mystery. This show was so well made and really showed off Kate’s range in the best way possible.

8

Clickbait

Another really addicting show and premise! I was hooked from the opening episode and I could not stop watching this show. As soon as I thought I had figured something out about the mystery, I was thrown in another direction and the show did a really fantastic job of keeping you guessing right up until the very end!

7

The Witcher (season 2)

A fantasy adventure filled with gore, laughs, and epic moments! This season really found its way and the dynamic between the main characters really elevated this show in so many ways, making it the perfect show to binge-watch before the end of the year. I loved it!

6

Lucifer (Final Season)

It’s not easy ending a series and I thought that Lucifer managed to truly make a final season for the fans. The episodes were fantastic, the characters all got a chance to truly shine and that ending had me in tears in the best way possible! I will miss this show but I do think that it really stuck the landing, which is far from easy to do!

5

The Innocent

My favorite Harlan Coben series yet! This series was beyond addicting. It had so many moving pieces but when everything came together, I was so beyond impressed with this particular mystery.

4

Only Murders in the Building

This show was so much fun! It had a really great mystery at its core, but the interaction between the characters and the clues they uncovered kept me laughing as well. It had the perfect balance of quirky humor and murder mystery fun. This show was such a wonderful surprise and I can’t wait to watch the second season!

3

WandaVision

This show was so unique and interesting. At first, I was slightly confused by what I was watching and yet I was entertained all the same and I loved the TV nostalgia thrown in. The show quickly transformed into something so amazing over the episodes. I looked forward to every single episode and by the time I got to the end, I was so emotionally changed by what I had witnessed.

Perfection!

2

Midnight Mass

An interesting take on horror with a Stephen King vibe that just worked! This series was disturbing on so many levels, but it also brought us so many beautiful and poetic moments too. I thought that the performances were absolutely incredible, creating a chilling series worth talking about!

Drum roll please…

1

Squid Game

If you haven’t watched Squid Game yet, you are missing out! This show quickly became one of the most watched shows all over the world and with good reason! This show sucks you in right from the start. The premise may seem odd, but once you start watching, you quickly become immersed into this story with relatable characters and games that will keep you on your toes!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and comments about your favorite television shows of 2021. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Witcher” Season 2 on Netflix: An Entertaining Adventure

*This is a spoiler-free review for season 2 so feel free to read on!*

“Toss a coin to your Witcher…”

The Witcher season 2 premiered on Netflix on December 17th 2021 with eight episodes available to stream now. The fantasy action series stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra.

Geralt of Rivia is back as he shows off his monster-fighting skills while trying to protect the young princess Ciri from countless threats.

Here is the trailer:

The Witcher provides us with plenty of monsters, magic, and gore while allowing its characters a chance at true self-discovery and redemption. ls season two worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Netflix

Ciri shines!

I really loved the development of Ciri in season two. She felt like a plot device in season one for a lot of the time and I actually felt like I got to know her this time around.

Those training sessions reminded me of Buffy!

Images courtesy of Netflix

True character growth.

I didn’t think there would be a lot of growth for Geralt but boy was I wrong. I really loved the interactions between the core four characters and I thought we witnessed some true growth and transformation. Redemption was earned for some and others went through pain and loss.

All of the emotions were real and I really loved the bonds formed between some of the characters. It connected me to the show that much more and really elevated it in a lot of ways.

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Netflix

A lot of sub-plots to keep track of…

I had the same issue with the first season. The pacing works for the most part and there is enough action to keep you entertained, but when I started to actually think about what was going on with some of the sub-plots, I felt a bit lost.

I thought the first half of the season had a darker tone, but the fun picked up starting in episode four and I thought the pacing stayed on track from there, however.

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in!

I thoroughly enjoyed season two and I think it’s safe to say that I am a fan for life of The Witcher. The characters are really the best part of the show for me and I absolutely loved going on this journey with them!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Witcher in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Wheel of Time” on Prime Video: Lord of the Rings-esque Fantasy is actually pretty Addicting

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“The world is broken…”

The Wheel of Time premiered on November 19th 2021 on Prime Video. There will be eight episodes in total. The first three are available to stream now and the remaining ones will air weekly. The fantasy action series stars Rosamund Pike, Madeleine Madden, Josha Stradowski, Barney Harris, Zoe Robins and Marcus Rutherford. Each episode runs for approximately 55-60 minutes.

A powerful magical woman named Moiraine tracks down a group of five teens, revealing that one of them is destined to become the reincarnation of the Dragon, which could ultimately save or destroy the world.

Here is the trailer:

The Wheel of Time may initially seem like a placeholder for shows like The Witcher and Shadow and Bone, but it manages to find its own identity. Is it worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Prime Video

Rosamund Pike lights up the screen.

Even though we get plenty of characters to focus on, Rosamund Pike is the best part of the show. There is a lot of talk about the power of women and she really embodies that completely. More please!

There is potential with some of the other characters as well, which is promising, but I’m all for a strong female lead and so far she is delivering.

Images courtesy of Prime Video

Stunning visuals and worthy fight sequences.

The setting and visuals in this show are really so well done. I lost myself within the setting and I thought that it channeled Lord of the Rings in a good way. The fight sequences were actually really great too. I was worried that I was going to fall asleep watching this show and somehow I found myself binge-watching the first three episodes back-to-back.

Each episode has a fantastic ending that will leave you hitting play immediately. I honestly can’t wait to find out what happens next!

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Prime Video

The supporting characters need some work…

I didn’t read the book series, but I would like these characters to be fleshed out a lot more. We’ve gotten some glimmers of their purpose and potential, but I need to actually care about what happens to them. I’m hopeful that we will get there within the next few episodes, but I don’t want to gloss over character development because it’s important.

I also think this show could benefit from some well-placed humor here and there. Shows like GOT and The Witcher understood how to lighten up the mood sometimes and even though I was thoroughly entertained with The Wheel of Time, it felt a little heavy at times and some of the dialogue was borderline atrocious.

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Prime Video

I’m in!

I went into this show thinking I was going to get a Game of Thrones rip-off and instead I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this show. It has a lot going on and it needs some improvements, but so far it has managed to captivate my undivided attention and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Wheel of Time in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Cursed” on Netflix: The Badass Female Character I have Been Waiting For

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“Where to begin…with water or with fire?”

Mystery has often surrounded the infamous Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legend and while we have witnessed plenty of twists and versions of King Arthur in film and in television, I have been anxiously waiting for this show to premiere.

Cursed premiered on July 17th 2020 on Netflix. It features ten episodes available to stream now (approximately 55 minutes in length). The show stars Katherine Langford, Devon Terrell, Gustaf Skarsgård, and Daniel Sharman.

Cursed centers on the story of a young enchantress named Nimue. She encounters the power of the sword and stumbles upon a young Arthur, while trying to protect her people from being wiped out by the Red Paladin. As Nimue continues her journey, she soon discovers that there is an incredible power within her that is begging to be unleashed.

The show is a good mix of The Witcher and Maleficent, bringing us beautiful cinematography and incredible action sequences, but does Cursed do enough to stand out on its own? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Cursed Netflix 1
Images courtesy of Netflix

Katherine Langford shines as Nimue!

I have not been this excited about a female character since The Witcher’s Yennefer of Vengerberg and while there are many characters I hold to high esteem on this list (Buffy Summers, Octavia Blake, Daenerys Targaryen, Piper Halliwell), it’s not easy to hold your own and Katherine Langford absolutely steps up to the plate as Nimue!

The Wolf-Blood Witch is badass and then some! While I absolutely loved Katherine Langford on 13 Reasons Why, she truly shines here and I will be a fan of hers forever!

Unique twists on the Arthurian legend.

Cursed Netflix 2
Images courtesy of Netflix

While Arthur plays a major part in the series, he takes a back seat to the Queen wielding the sword. As the series goes on, you will quickly discover a lot of familiar characters and reveals along the way, but a lot has changed and I think that’s a good thing. This actually helped the show stay fresh and relevant. It prevented it from becoming a predictable shadow of a story, allowing it to branch off into a really interesting retelling that has captivated my full attention.

The supporting characters were also really entertaining and I didn’t even mind when the story shifted to them for a little while because everyone was really fantastic on this show.

Stunning cinematography.

I mean, it just took my breath away. Everything was so beautiful and magical. I also appreciated that this didn’t overwhelm the show. It just complimented each scene perfectly, really bringing us into this world seamlessly.

The Cons:

Cursed Netflix 3
Images courtesy of Netflix

The plot wavers here and there…

We all know the point of the series and where the Lady of the Lake should end up, but the plot becomes a little uncertain here and there and then is covered up by gory and flashy fight scenes to make you forget about any inconsistencies. I would say that the plot did a good job of redeeming itself, but there were some moments when I needed to go back to see what was actually happening.

So am I in or out?

Cursed Netflix 4
Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in 100 percent! This series was everything I hoped for and more. Katherine Langford was incredible as Nimue! I really hope this show gets picked up for a second season…especially after that major cliffhanger!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Cursed in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking my Top 10 Television Shows of 2019: Which Shows Made The Cut?

Greetings TV Fans!  I hope you all had an amazing holiday and I wish you all the best for the upcoming New Year!  As we get closer and closer to approaching 2020, I thought it would be the perfect time to count down my Top 10 TV Shows of 2019.

While some returning shows continued strong, others fell off slightly.  Meanwhile, some other new shows completely captivated my attention, paving their way into my top 10.

**Please note some spoilers are ahead.**

Without any further delay, let’s get to my list!

My Top 10 Television Shows of 2019 are:

10

American Horror Story:  1984

AHS 1984 FX 1

Who doesn’t love the 80’s?  The first half of the newest season of AHS was so much fun.  The music was to die for and it really gave us this campy comedy horror vibe that also presented us with some fun throwbacks to horror movies we all know and love.

Emma Roberts did a fantastic job leading the cast and we got plenty of twists and turns along the way.  While the second half of the season fell off for me, I still was entertained, rooting for my Final Girls to kick some ass!

9

The Punisher (Season 2)

The Punisher Netflix 1

So I am a huge Jon Bernthal fan and I really think that he plays this role to perfection.  Bernthal is always a little rough around the edges, but that’s part of his charm and he is so believable as Frank Castle.  I absolutely loved the first season of the show and while I anticipated that this show would be canceled after season 2, I knew that it would provide us with a lot of action and it did!

8

The Purge (Season 2)

The Purge USA 1

Last year, The Purge (season 1) was my absolute favorite show of the year.  I am a huge fan of the movies and I didn’t go into the series with very high expectations, but it was bloody fantastic!  It’s hard to live up to something so spectacular and while season 2 fell slightly short for me, it still was such an entertaining watch.

The new characters were great and I loved the inside look into the NFFA.  Fans got a chance to see a world outside of Purge Night, which was so interesting.  They presented us with so many new layers, while sprinkling in some super fun cameos and Easter eggs too!

7

Riverdale (Season 3)

Riverdale CW 1

Riverdale is definitely one of my favorite shows, but after all of the Black Hood dark twists in season 2, season 3 got a little bit weird.  We entered the world of Gryphons and Gargoyles and learned about The Farm, which was really bizarre and confusing, but there were still so many moments that kept this show going strong for me.

The Midnight Club flashback episode was fantastic and Cheryl Blossom was pretty much born to star in the Heathers musical episode, reminding me why I love this show so much!

6

The Walking Dead (Season 10)

TWD AMC 1

I have been watching TWD since it first started and I loved the earlier seasons so much.  The show fell off for me along the way and I often felt like I was watching out of obligation.  However, the second half of season 9 and the beginning of season 10 made me a true fan once again.

The Whisperers are fantastic villains and we are finally getting some screen time for some of our favorite characters.  I mean, who doesn’t love seeing Daryl and Carol making friendship bracelets for one another?  Keep it up, TWD!

5

Unbelievable

Unbelievable Netflix 1

Not the typical type of show that I usually watch, but I heard really great things about this show and decided to give it a try.  There were some parts that were difficult to watch, but the performances were so real and inspiring.  I could not stop watching this show and I thought it was so thought-provoking and important.

4

Killing Eve (Season 2)

Killing Eve AMC 1

While season 1 allowed us to really focus on Eve’s quest to take down Villanelle, we got to really know Villanelle in season 2.  Jodie Comer’s performance was beyond fantastic and I was so excited for her Emmy win!  The dynamic between Eve and Villanelle took some unexpected turns in season 2 and we were left with a major cliffhanger at the end of the season, but this show is so addicting and I can’t get enough!  More please!

3

Stranger Things (Season 3)

Stranger Things Netflix 1

I am a huge fan of Stranger Things, but I was slightly underwhelmed by season 2.  However, season 3 came back with a bang, giving us so many fun 80’s moments. Some of our favorite characters truly got to shine and we also got some fantastic new characters that I welcomed with open arms.  I think season 3 may be my favorite now, but I was so entertained by the watch and I can’t wait to see how it all ends!

2

Game of Thrones (Season 8)

GOT HBO 1

I thought that GOT would pretty much be a given as my favorite show of the year, but the final season took some interesting twists that I’m still debating over.  That being said, the performances were brilliant, the action was intense, and we also got some heart-warming moments in the midst of the heartbreaking ones.

I loved seeing Arya’s “Not Today” moment and Jon Snow’s reunion with Ghost was very special for me.  This show will always be one of my all time favorites and overall, I was thoroughly entertained.

Drum roll please…

1

The Witcher

The Witcher Netflix 1

This show was such an unexpected and pleasant surprise.  Even though the show started off a little slow, it kicked things up a notch and quickly became my favorite show of the year!  The characters and performances were beyond fantastic.  The action was out of this world and the dark magic was so intriguing.

This show was fast-paced, fun, and addicting.  I never thought that I would even like this show and it somehow blew all of the other shows out of the water for me.  Cheers to The Witcher!

Spoiler-Free Review of “The Witcher” on Netflix: Monsters, Magic and Melody

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

The world of a dark fantasy can be somewhat confusing, but with Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt of Rivia, all bets are off.  We are quickly immersed into a world filled with terrifying nightmares, dark magic, and war, as we are reminded quite often about the importance of destiny while bursting into some welcomed song.

The Witcher began streaming episodes on Netflix as of December 20th 2019 and currently features eight episodes for season one.  Each episode is about an hour, so leave plenty of time to watch this.  It stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra.  If you are worried about the cliffhanger ending at the end of season one, fear not!

The Witcher has already been confirmed and renewed for season two by Netflix.

Based on the popular video games and book series, The Witcher follows Geralt of Rivia on his monster hunting quest, as he tries to find his own purpose in the world while battling the forces of evil on a daily basis.  His destiny is linked to Princess Ciri, who ends up on the run during the war, and to Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful mage with her own inner demons.

Does The Witcher measure up to all the hype?  Let’s find out…

The Pros:

The Witcher Netflix 1

Wonderful characters and performances.

If you were worried about Henry Cavill, don’t be.  He’s absolutely fantastic!  Once you get over his tone of voice, you will thoroughly enjoy his performance.  Some of my favorite moments include the dynamic between him and the bard, giving us a lot of unexpected comedy and fun banter.

My favorite character is definitely Yennefer of Vengerberg, however.  Her story is so intriguing and interesting.  I got some Melisandre vibes from Game of Thrones, but that is not a bad thing at all.  I’m always more interested in the darker anti-hero rather than a character who is so obviously good.

Gore, action, and passion.

The Witcher is definitely not for the faint of heart.  The battle scenes are intense and there are some disturbing images and moments that I am still cringing over.  Of course these moments are also balanced out with a lot of sex scenes, but that’s to be expected.  I don’t think that anything was overdone or over-the-top, however.

The Cons:

A lot of characters and time jumps.

So, when you play a video game, you get a guide to reference and I often felt like I needed one of my very own to keep track of everyone.  There is a lot jam-packed into eight episodes and you really need to pay attention.

I also thought the time jumps were slightly confusing.  I didn’t get any text clues as to where we were in time and I had to figure it out on my own.  Again, I don’t really think this was a huge issue, but I did feel like I needed to take notes to figure out some things…

So am I in or out?

I’m in 100 percent!  Wow, this may be one of the best shows I have watched all year.  I’ll be honest, I went into this show expecting to be confused and overwhelmed.  I am familiar with the video games and books, but I wouldn’t say that I am that well versed in either.

From my understanding, the show fits in somewhere between these plots while giving us enough of a unique story, but you can watch this show without knowing anything about either one.  Trust me.

If you are a fan of shows or movies like Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Merlin, you will feel right at home, but I will say that you don’t need to be a fantasy fan to enjoy this series.  The story weaving is so intricate and well done and this show is beyond addicting.  Even though the episodes are long, I finished it in two days and as soon as I got to the end, I wanted more!

I highly recommend this show and I hope you enjoy it!
