Spoiler-Free Review of “The Witcher” Season 2 on Netflix: An Entertaining Adventure

*This is a spoiler-free review for season 2 so feel free to read on!*

“Toss a coin to your Witcher…”

The Witcher season 2 premiered on Netflix on December 17th 2021 with eight episodes available to stream now. The fantasy action series stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra.

Geralt of Rivia is back as he shows off his monster-fighting skills while trying to protect the young princess Ciri from countless threats.

Here is the trailer:

The Witcher provides us with plenty of monsters, magic, and gore while allowing its characters a chance at true self-discovery and redemption. ls season two worthy of your next watch? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Images courtesy of Netflix

Ciri shines!

I really loved the development of Ciri in season two. She felt like a plot device in season one for a lot of the time and I actually felt like I got to know her this time around.

Those training sessions reminded me of Buffy!

Images courtesy of Netflix

True character growth.

I didn’t think there would be a lot of growth for Geralt but boy was I wrong. I really loved the interactions between the core four characters and I thought we witnessed some true growth and transformation. Redemption was earned for some and others went through pain and loss.

All of the emotions were real and I really loved the bonds formed between some of the characters. It connected me to the show that much more and really elevated it in a lot of ways.

The Cons:

Images courtesy of Netflix

A lot of sub-plots to keep track of…

I had the same issue with the first season. The pacing works for the most part and there is enough action to keep you entertained, but when I started to actually think about what was going on with some of the sub-plots, I felt a bit lost.

I thought the first half of the season had a darker tone, but the fun picked up starting in episode four and I thought the pacing stayed on track from there, however.

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in!

I thoroughly enjoyed season two and I think it’s safe to say that I am a fan for life of The Witcher. The characters are really the best part of the show for me and I absolutely loved going on this journey with them!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Witcher in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Shadow and Bone” on Netflix: Entertaining but Jam-Packed Fantasy

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“The dark is a place that is full of monsters…”

Shadow and Bone premiered on Netflix on April 23rd 2021. The series features eight episodes available to stream now. It stars Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Ben Barnes, Freddy Carter, and Amita Suman. Each episode runs for approximately 55 minutes.

Based on the popular Grisha book series, Shadow and Bone follows a mapmaker orphan named Alina Starkov who discovers a power within her that could change the world.

Here is the trailer:

Shadow and Bone is jam-packed with quite a lot, but it’s easy to get lost without proper context. While this show channels a familiar plot, it does have a lot going on to keep us invested. Does it do enough to stand out as a proper fantasy series? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Shadow and Bone Spoiler Free Review 1

Entertaining at its core.

The show is clever about the placement of events during each episode. While there is a lot going on, it does enough to keep you coming back for more, which makes this series binge-watch worthy. I thought the very end of the pilot episode was so well done and I was immediately hooked.

Much like Game of Thrones and The Witcher, the audience sits around waiting for a pay off, but when these scenes arrive, they are brilliantly done and you remember why you are watching the show in the first place.

Immersive world.

I thought that this realm or world was so intriguing. I’ve watched and read a lot of teen dystopian-esque fantasy series and it was really extraordinary to see this particular world come to life. I think it really worked in the show’s favor not having it take place in the “real world,” adding to the fantasy elements.

The Cons:

Shadow and Bone Spoiler Free Review 2

Images courtesy of Netflix

Wishy-Washy Chosen One.

I’m all for a story about a female chosen one and I had very high expectations for Alina Starkov. She has these really cool abilities and a great story to work with, but there was something lacking here. I thought that Jessica Mei Li gave a solid performance, but I had trouble connecting with her.

I want to be rooting for my female lead from the start and that didn’t really happen here even though there were some glimmers throughout the series of strength and potential. I think that the supporting characters captured more of my attention, which shows that there was a great cast, but I wanted more from our lead.

Fantasy by the numbers with awkward wide eyed stares…

You can check off each of your fantasy tropes with this particular series. I didn’t really mind them, but it didn’t help this series stand out from The Hunger Games and Divergent, which have similar plots.

I also could not take the constant wide eyed stares between the characters that seemed to last for over five minutes at a time. We can do a better job of creating moments without this…

So am I in or out?

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in…

This series is packed with a lot. I think that fans of the book series will enjoy it for the most part. The series made a valiant effort to bring this world to life while introducing it to a new audience. You really have to pay attention to this show and probably need a guide to keep track of everything, but if you are looking for an entertaining fantasy binge-watch, you’re in the right place.

Overall, this series does enough to bring us into this world and I was invested and entertained throughout my watch.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Shadow and Bone in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Fate: The Winx Saga” on Netflix: Seems oddly familiar

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“Magic can be dangerous…”

Fate: The Winx Saga premiered on Netflix on January 22nd 2021 with all six episodes available to stream now. The series stars Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, and Danny Griffin. Each episode runs for approximately 48-50 minutes.

The series is based on the comic series, Winx Club by Iginio Straffi. Bloom (Cowen) enrolls in a school for fairies after she discovers her own abilities in the mortal world. Each of her classmates have unique powers of their own, as they deal with growing up and facing some scary monsters known as the Burned Ones.

Here is the trailer:

Fate: The Winx Saga may seem very similar to shows like The Order and Legacies…except it is with fairies. While the show could easily fall into The CW’s lineup, does it do anything truly original to make it stand out? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Fate The Winx Saga Spoiler Free Review 1

Images courtesy of Netflix

The plot is entertaining enough to keep you invested.

While I wouldn’t say that anything truly unique or spectacular was going on, there was enough happening in each episode to keep me coming back for more. The mystery behind Bloom’s identity, the violent monsters, and the abilities of the fairies helped carry along the pace of this show even though a lot of teen melodrama got in the way, but I expected that to happen.

Likable characters.

I actually really liked many of the characters, but I do feel like there were way too many of them for only six episodes. While Bloom may have easily found herself in the key to everything trope, she was layered enough and had some serious fire power.

The Cons:

Fate The Winx Saga 2

Images courtesy of Netflix

Check your tropes off here…

From the obvious love triangle to the slighted friend to the mean girl vs. the new loner…honestly I could go on and on. However, this formula does work and I do watch many of the shows that fit this bill, but I wanted a little bit more from this one. I thought it had the potential to tap into some serious darkness, but that quickly fizzled out.

So am I in or out?

Fate The Winx Saga 3

Images courtesy of Netflix

I’m in about 75 percent…

This show was not bad at all and I actually finished it up pretty quickly because of the pacing. While it was basically your typical vampire teenage angst show but with fairies, I still thought that it did enough to serve as a quick binge-watch. However, it failed to present us with anything truly new or different and I’m afraid it may become quite forgettable when other shows premiere. I wouldn’t rush this to the top of your watch-list, but it’s decent if you enjoy shows like The Vampire Diaries, The Order, and Legacies.

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Fate: The Winx Saga in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” season 15 episode 19: “Inherit the Earth”

Happy Saturday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 19, I learned that “when people have to be their best, they can be…and that’s what they’ll believe in.”

Please note MAJOR SPOILERS are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In episode 19, “Inherit the Earth,” Sam, Dean, and Jack fear that they may be the only people left on earth. Meanwhile, some more frenemies show up to make things even more complicated.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 19 are:

5

“We’ll give you what you want.”

After Sam, Dean, and Jack quickly cope with the fact that everyone is gone…including Castiel, they realize that they may be out of options. We get a glimmer of hope when Dean finds an adorable dog, but of course Chuck makes him vanish as well.

Supernatural season 15 episode 19 Dean with Dog

Come on, Chuck!

Sam and Dean basically surrender to Chuck and tell him that they will do whatever he wants if he just puts everything back to the way it was.

Only Chuck doesn’t seem too interested and tells them that he likes this story now.

Let’s hope they can get Chuck’s death book open…

4

“Wow…way to treat a pal!”

We quickly find out that Sam, Dean, and Jack aren’t the only beings left on earth as Michael shows up with perfect timing to help them out. Michael is in Adam’s body and tells them that he vanished too, but can we really trust him at this point?

Meanwhile, Dean gets a phone call from Castiel and we hear his voice, but we know that it’s not Cass…and in walks another familiar face…Lucifer.

Lucifer is one of the best villains on any show and I’m always happy to see him, but we know that he definitely has some tricks up his sleeve.

Supernatural Lucifer

Images courtesy of The CW

After crowning a new reaper as death, they are able to get the book open, but Lucifer kills her before she can read the words out loud and double crosses them, explaining that Chuck is the one that pulled him off the bench in the first place.

We get this ultimate power struggle between Michael and Lucifer as Sam and Dean come up with a plan to create some kind of a ritual circle to get the book open.

3

“That’s not who we are…”

Chuck shows up during the ritual and starts beating the crap out of Sam and Dean, claiming he is cancelling their show.

Only the Winchester brothers are not out of complete luck, as they planned this from the start. They reveal that they knew Michael would double cross them and inform Chuck, explaining that after Jack returned from The Empty, he became some kind of power sucking vacuum.

Supernatural Jack season 15 episode 19

Images courtesy of The CW

That explains what we saw in last week’s episode with plants and living things basically disintegrating at Jack’s touch.

Jack absorbed the power from Lucifer, Michael, and even Chuck himself when he started beating on Sam and Dean, which now makes him powerful enough to stop Chuck once and for all.

Chuck seems overly entertained and shocked by this ending, excited to find out who will end his life, but Sam and Dean tell him that’s not who they are. Chuck will live out his life as a mortal and die…lost and forgotten.

Great twist, guys!

2

“He got us back online.”

With this act, we learn that Jack is basically the new God, which I thought was fitting in a lot of ways. I was actually really sad when Dean asked him to come back home, realizing that Jack would not be a direct part of this family anymore, but we know that he will always be present.

But I do have some questions. Jack was able to restore the world and we even see the dog return, but what about Castiel?

Does he have the power to bring him back? There are some other characters that still haven’t shown up in a while either. I’m hoping we get to see both Rowena and Crowley in the series finale, but I’m honestly not sure.

This episode was basically a season finale, but we still need to wrap things up. I’m thinking the series finale is going to bring us back to the very beginning, providing fans with the SPN nostalgia we know and love.

1

“Finally free…”

At the very end of the episode, Sam and Dean discuss what happened and realize that they are finally free to write their own story. They take a moment to remember everyone they have lost and we even get these entertaining flashback clips of some of our past favorite characters over the seasons.

In a lot of ways, this episode felt like the end, but I still want one more episode.

Stay tuned SPN Family! The series finale of Supernatural airs next week!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Supernatural in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” season 15 episode 16: “Drag Me Away (From You)”

Happy Friday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 16, I learned that sometimes facing your past is easier said than done…but some things do come back full circle.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In episode 16, “Drag Me Away (From You)” Sam and Dean travel out to a funeral for an old friend, giving us glimpses into their past and a new case to solve. Meanwhile, Billie takes a brief moment to check in with Dean about the fate of the world.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 16 are:

5

“Did you tell Sam yet?”

As Sam and Dean head out on a road trip to reunite with their old friend, Sam asks Dean about Castiel. Dean plays it cool, but we see a text from Castiel asking: “Did you tell Sam yet?”

This answers my question from last week’s episode where I was wondering if Castiel would tell the brothers the truth about Jack’s fate. It looks like he told Dean, but I’m guessing Dean wanted to be the one to tell his younger brother.

You can’t keep things from Sammy forever though…

4

“Why do you want us here?”

Apparently you can’t check into room 214 at Rooster’s Sunrise Motel without bumping into an undead monster or two…

We witness a disturbing encounter with a character named Travis, who ends up being murdered by some kind of spirit with a broken bottle. Ouch!

Travis’s sister, Caitlin, calls Sam and Dean, realizing that something is not quite right about what happened and says it wasn’t suicide. Perhaps this is the distraction they need. Oh and it gives us a chance to witness some flashbacks of Sam and Dean.

3

“You’ve changed…”

Supernatural season 15 episode 16 The CW 2

Images courtesy of The CW

Caitlin and Dean actually have a really sweet history. I absolutely adored the vending machine scene and now I want to see if that trick actually works. Don’t get me into trouble Dean!

Dean tries to tell Caitlin that perhaps Travis really did take his own life, claiming he killed the evil being many years ago. Caitlin recognizes that Dean has changed, reminding him that he believed Travis right away so many years ago.

Perhaps Dean needs to take a moment to believe and remember who he used to be. He might need to embrace that glimmer of hope that he has pushed back down for so many years to win the ultimate battle.

2

“When he comes, there won’t be a moment to waste.”

Billie takes a quick opportunity to interrupt this flashback centered episode, revealing to Dean that all of the worlds are basically gone except for their own.

There will be no time to spare and there are only four episodes left, but is there another way to stop Chuck without losing Jack?

We’ll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the update, Billie!

1

“We don’t get a choice.”

After taking out the undead spirit for real this time by smashing the ring, Sam and Dean head out after saying goodbye to Caitlin. I have to say that I wouldn’t mind a Goonies inspired younger Sam and Dean prequel spin-off…just saying!

On the car ride home, Dean finally tells Sam about Jack and Sam is beyond upset.

Supernatural season 15 episode 16 3

Images courtesy of The CW

The flashback seems even more important now since we witnessed a conversation about Sam wanting to go to college and Dean telling him that monster hunting was their true purpose. Sam is tired of Dean making choices for him.

There is clearly a divide between the two brothers and it really got me thinking about another theory. We know that Chuck and Amara represent a balance (light and dark).

Is it possible that Sam and Dean will somehow take their places and maintain balance in the world once again?

It’s a theory I have been pondering for a while, but we still have a few episodes left.

Stay tuned SPN Family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” season 15 episode 15: “Gimme Shelter”

Happy Sunday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 15, I learned that a “highway to heaven but like with murder” spin-off might not be such a bad idea after all.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In episode 15, “Gimme Shelter” Castiel and Jack team up to investigate a case while Sam and Dean take a road trip to Atlantic City to find Amara.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 15 are:

5

“Can we wear matching ties?”

Castiel doesn’t seem initially thrilled to be teamed up with Jack, but Jack’s excitement is contagious. While investigating some religious deaths at a shelter, Jack puts his skills to the test and even shows off that he “graduated from CSI.”

Supernatural Season 15 episode 15 Jack and Castiel

Images courtesy of The CW

The humor was needed here to break up some of the heavy moments we have been getting and we even get a Baby Yoda reference thrown in!

More please!

4

“We knew there was gonna be a catch.”

It’s not all fun and games as Sam and Dean take a moment to catch up on their quest during the car ride. They know that they are the messengers, but they will need to trick Amara in order for their plan to work.

We get a big discussion about the balance of things and know that Amara and Chuck represent light and darkness. Both will need to be stopped, but all of this talk of splitting into two had me thinking about the ultimate fate of the Winchesters as well…

We’ll have to see how this plays out.

3

“I do know what blind faith is.”

I have to admit that Castiel truly touched me in this episode. I’ve talked before about the transformation of Castiel’s character over the seasons and we get another real glimpse of it in this episode when Castiel stands before the group at the shelter to talk about his spiritual journey.

Supernatural season 15 episode 15 Castiel

Images courtesy of The CW

Castiel explains that he used to just follow orders, but he changed and found a family and became a father. He rediscovered his faith and also learned about his true purpose. This was probably one of the most vulnerable and real moments I have ever witnessed for Castiel and it got me wondering again about how The Empty said Castiel would be taken when he experiences that moment of true bliss.

Fatherhood is clearly the key and I’m starting to wonder if Castiel will somehow take Jack’s place and sacrifice himself…

2

“Why did you bring her back?”

Amara finds Sam and Dean way too easily, but decides she wants to grab a snack, especially since she hasn’t ever tried a Pennsylvania Pierogi  before.

There is a lot of shop talk, but Dean does ask an important question, wondering why Amara brought Mary back.

Amara explains that she wanted Dean to be able to move on with his life and experience Mary as a real person to replace the ideal/fantasy of her, which she considered to be a gift.

I actually thought this was extremely important for Dean because we know that he has been holding on to this pain. In the end, Dean asks Amara if she will help them and she agrees to think it over, but it seems like he has every intention of still betraying her even after their heart-to-heart conversation.

1

“This is the only way they’ll ever forgive me…”

At the very end of the episode, Jack reveals that the plan to stop God and Amara will ultimately kill him. He is basically a bomb that will go off to destroy them, but he will not survive.

Castiel refuses to let him do this, but Jack reminds him that it is his choice and that it’s the only way Sam and Dean will ever forgive him for killing Mary.

Supernatural season 15 episode 15 Jack

Images courtesy of The CW

We’ve seen Castiel and the brothers keep secrets before, but at the end, Castiel says that there is something Sam and Dean need to know. Is he going to tell them about what will happen to Jack or is he going to tell them something else? I’m hoping he goes with the truth because we’ve seen these secrets destroy their bond before.

I keep coming back to Castiel somehow taking Jack’s place in the end, but we still have 5 more episodes left.

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Supernatural in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Cursed” on Netflix: The Badass Female Character I have Been Waiting For

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“Where to begin…with water or with fire?”

Mystery has often surrounded the infamous Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legend and while we have witnessed plenty of twists and versions of King Arthur in film and in television, I have been anxiously waiting for this show to premiere.

Cursed premiered on July 17th 2020 on Netflix. It features ten episodes available to stream now (approximately 55 minutes in length). The show stars Katherine Langford, Devon Terrell, Gustaf Skarsgård, and Daniel Sharman.

Cursed centers on the story of a young enchantress named Nimue. She encounters the power of the sword and stumbles upon a young Arthur, while trying to protect her people from being wiped out by the Red Paladin. As Nimue continues her journey, she soon discovers that there is an incredible power within her that is begging to be unleashed.

The show is a good mix of The Witcher and Maleficent, bringing us beautiful cinematography and incredible action sequences, but does Cursed do enough to stand out on its own? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Cursed Netflix 1
Images courtesy of Netflix

Katherine Langford shines as Nimue!

I have not been this excited about a female character since The Witcher’s Yennefer of Vengerberg and while there are many characters I hold to high esteem on this list (Buffy Summers, Octavia Blake, Daenerys Targaryen, Piper Halliwell), it’s not easy to hold your own and Katherine Langford absolutely steps up to the plate as Nimue!

The Wolf-Blood Witch is badass and then some! While I absolutely loved Katherine Langford on 13 Reasons Why, she truly shines here and I will be a fan of hers forever!

Unique twists on the Arthurian legend.

Cursed Netflix 2
Images courtesy of Netflix

While Arthur plays a major part in the series, he takes a back seat to the Queen wielding the sword. As the series goes on, you will quickly discover a lot of familiar characters and reveals along the way, but a lot has changed and I think that’s a good thing. This actually helped the show stay fresh and relevant. It prevented it from becoming a predictable shadow of a story, allowing it to branch off into a really interesting retelling that has captivated my full attention.

The supporting characters were also really entertaining and I didn’t even mind when the story shifted to them for a little while because everyone was really fantastic on this show.

Stunning cinematography.

I mean, it just took my breath away. Everything was so beautiful and magical. I also appreciated that this didn’t overwhelm the show. It just complimented each scene perfectly, really bringing us into this world seamlessly.

The Cons:

Cursed Netflix 3
Images courtesy of Netflix

The plot wavers here and there…

We all know the point of the series and where the Lady of the Lake should end up, but the plot becomes a little uncertain here and there and then is covered up by gory and flashy fight scenes to make you forget about any inconsistencies. I would say that the plot did a good job of redeeming itself, but there were some moments when I needed to go back to see what was actually happening.

So am I in or out?

Cursed Netflix 4

I’m in 100 percent! This series was everything I hoped for and more. Katherine Langford was incredible as Nimue! I really hope this show gets picked up for a second season…especially after that major cliffhanger!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Cursed in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 Songs Performed on “Lucifer”

Happy Wednesday TV Fans! After recently completing my first full watch of Lucifer, I have to admit that I am beyond obsessed. I can’t wait for Netflix to release the season 5 premiere date and I am already ranking Lucifer as one of my favorite series of all time.

Seriously, it’s so good! I highly recommend it!

One of the reasons why I love Lucifer so much is because of the wonderful musical numbers. Tom Ellis is absolutely brilliant and fantastic and somehow turns some already epic songs into unique and timeless renditions. At first I was slightly skeptical about the musical numbers, but I quickly adapted and welcomed them on the show.

The showstopping numbers are entertaining on their own, but I love how some of the performances truly highlight some key moments on the show and even elevate them to something even greater.

Tom Ellis is born to perform, but I also was surprised and impressed by some of the supporting cast members as well, who should think about performing more often.

The performances somehow mirror our own moods, which is not always easy to do. Shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed did a fantastic job with this previously, but it’s difficult to seamlessly throw in musical numbers and Lucifer just makes it look effortless.

I’m hoping that we eventually get a full musical episode and perhaps we can see something like that in season 5 if we’re lucky, but for today, I am going to be ranking my top 5 songs performed on the series so far.

**Please note some spoilers are ahead if you are not up to date on the series.**

Without any further delay, let’s get to my list!

My Top 5 Songs Performed on Lucifer are:

5

Luck Be A Lady

Song featured in Season 3, episode 6. Performed by Lucifer, featuring Ella!

In this episode, Lucifer and Ella head to Vegas to track down Candy. The team-up between Lucifer and Ella is hilarious on its own and they really make quite the duo! Ella looks absolutely stunning in her dress, but she also shares the stage with Lucifer during this performance.

Tom Ellis channels his Frank Sinatra with flair, but adding in Ella as one of the “Morningstar” backup dancers makes this number truly stand out. Hit him with your feather boa again, girl!

4

I Will Survive

Song featured in Season 3, episode 17. Performed by Axara and Lucifer.

After a pop singer’s life is in danger, she is supposed to remain on lockdown while the police figure this out, but Axara loves the spotlight and decides to perform to keep herself occupied. Only, Lucifer decides to stop the performance, but Axara refuses, forcing Lucifer to grab the microphone and…join in on the song.

The words actually match up with Lucifer trying to get Axara to leave, which is beyond hilarious and Axara may have just been outperformed by the original diva, Lucifer!

3

Eternal Flame

Song featured in Season 2, episode 14. Performed by Lucifer. Sings to Chloe.

After making fun of Chloe’s playlist, Lucifer takes things one step further. Chloe is trying to make her way through a club during an investigation and Lucifer decides to get on stage and dedicate one of her favorite songs to her.

This moment is beyond sweet and adorable and Chloe’s reaction is everything in the crowd.

Later on in the series, we get to witness Chloe and Lucifer slow dancing to “Only You,” which is another one of my favorite moments, but Lucifer’s performance absolutely deserves a spot on our list today.

Wonderwall

Song featured in Season 4, episode 9. Performed by Maze. Sings to Eve.

“Wonderwall” is already one of my favorite songs and happens to be performed on my absolute favorite series of all time, Lost. So, it’s safe to say that I have very high expectations here.

However, when Maze (my favorite character) decides to take a leap of faith and show a “grand gesture” to reveal her feelings to Eve, this song took on new meaning for me.

Maze’s performance is soulful and beautiful. Part of the reason why I love this performance so much is because we know that Maze rarely shows her vulnerability and she lets it all out in the open here, exposing her heart and reminding us that perhaps this demon really does have a soul after all…

Some honorable mentions before revealing my number one pick are:

All Along the Watchtower (Season 2, episode 1)

Sinnerman (Season 1, episode 6)

Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door (Season 1, episode 9)

Drum roll please…

Creep

Song featured in Season 4, episode 1. Performed by Lucifer.

Tom Ellis is beyond brilliant during this performance. I think I have listened to this rendition a thousand times and may even prefer it to the original song…it’s that good. Part of what makes it so epic is it mirrors Lucifer’s own inner battle. Lucifer is at a breaking point and is trying to figure out who he really is and what his purpose is.

Every single breath he takes and every note makes you sympathize with his struggle, stirring so many emotions at once. This performance truly moves me and showcases just how incredibly talented Tom Ellis is. Perfection…

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and comments on your favorite songs performed on Lucifer. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 13: “Destiny’s Child”

Happy Tuesday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 13, I remembered that being dead tends to never really stick on our favorite show. You could be almost dead or really dead, but there’s always a loophole…

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Destiny’s Child,” Sam and Dean take a trip down to Hell to find the Occultum. Meanwhile, Castiel decides to take extreme measures to contact an old fan favorite, but she’s not alone…

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 13 are:

5

“Dean…Sam? Sam…Dean?”

Things get a little confusing when Chuck begins to destroy worlds, as Sam and Dean come face to face with another version of themselves after a rift opens. This Sam and Dean are very different in some ways and reveal that they actually get paid to hunt monsters. Sign me up for Hunter Corp!

When Sam and Dean plan to go down to Hell, they decide to bring the other Sam and Dean into their world to keep up appearances in case Chuck/God checks in on them. Other Sam is sporting a man bun and other Dean likes collared shirts, but they get an interesting day in the life of the real Sam and Dean, bringing us some much needed humor along the way.

I’m not sure they should have touched Dean’s car though…

“Pray with Sister Jo!”

Sister Jo is back and she’s not alone. We discover that Sam and Dean require something called the occultum in order to face Chuck/God. Sister Jo apparently knows where it is, but claims that Ruby had it last, leading to some welcomed flashbacks of one of our favorite demons.

Ruby apparently stashed the occultum somewhere in Hell, which leads to a field trip that screams trap, but Castiel has a feeling that Sister Jo is withholding some key information.

I loved the scenes between Sister Jo and Ruby and it was fun to see the girls really take over in this episode.

3

“I don’t feel things the way I used to.”

Jack is also going through quite a lot in this episode as he opens up to Castiel, explaining that he realizes that things have changed since he returned. Jack wonders if Dean will ever forgive him for what happened to Mary and Castiel sheds some light on Dean, really reminding us just how well he knows him.

Dean sometimes runs on a short fuse, but the feelings are always there and he may just need a lot of time to truly work this out.

2

“Go get her, Pizza Man!”

The pizza man is back! Well, we do get a fun flashback reminder before the episode starts, but The Empty makes a special appearance posing as Meg when Castiel tries to contact Ruby. Jack helps Castiel become “almost dead” so that he can get some answers, but The Empty seems to have an agenda of her own.

Castiel does get to talk to Ruby, who reveals where the occultum is, explaining that it is actually a place. However, she does want something in return. Castiel agrees to find a way to get her out of there, as we are reminded that The Empty is actually quite full.

We know that The Empty is still a threat to Castiel, even though he hasn’t experienced this moment of happiness. However, The Empty is on death’s side, which means that the Winchesters have another enemy to deal with.

I absolutely loved seeing both Meg and Ruby and thought this was a fun way to bring back some of our fan favorites for the last season.

Still waiting on Crowley though…

1

“Who are you meant to be?”

After heading to the occultum, the guys run into some trouble with hellhounds. Sam tries to keep them out of the church, as Jack decides to swallow the occultum based on the instructions. Jack ends up traveling to “The Garden,” which apparently has not been done in almost forever.

Jack taps into something and when he returns, his soul is back as well. Jack breaks down about what he did to Mary and begs Sam and Dean for forgiveness, which was absolutely heartbreaking to witness.

Jack is back, but he has also traveled to the garden so we don’t know if there are any side effects from this. It’s clear that he is they key to stopping Chuck/God, but will his soul get in the way of him doing what needs to be done?

Stay tuned SPN Family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 12: “Galaxy Brain”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 12, I remembered that sometimes less is more, but is canceling shows really the answer to Chuck’s problems?

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In tonight’s episode, “Galaxy Brain,” Sam and Dean attempt to figure out their next move while Jody ends up in trouble. Meanwhile, Chuck/God grows tired of the other worlds while the Winchesters risk everything to protect an innocent.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 12 are:

5

“I trust Jack…”

“Trust is a strong word,” but Sam and Dean are running out of options to stop Chuck/God. Billie seems to know what she’s talking about most of the time and we know that Jack has good intentions, but it’s clear that Sam and Dean are treading lightly here.

Jack cannot use his powers or he will alert Chuck, but can he control himself now that he is back in the real world? Let’s hope so.

4

“If you don’t come, I’m dead.”

Meanwhile, Jody runs into some trouble as well and makes a call to the Winchesters to help her out of a jam. It’s always good to see Jody and as we approach the end of the series, I hope we get some more screen time for her because it brings back so much SPN nostalgia.

It was also amazing to see Jody finally meet Castiel and I thought the chat about Claire was truly touching.

3

“She haunts me.”

Jody is not the only one to return in this episode, as we learn that Dark Kaia is responsible for holding her captive. She tells Sam and Dean that Jack can get her back to her world, but they are not initially too inclined to help her after she holds their friend against her will.

SPN The CW 2

Dark Kaia reveals that her world is dying and that she has been having some prophetic nightmares, revealing that the real Kaia is actually still alive and trapped in her world.

We know that Chuck is looking to potentially shut down all other worlds so they better get Kaia out of there quick. After all, they’re running out of time…

2

“I don’t belong in your world.”

Even though the Winchesters are risking exposure to save one life, they are not about to leave an innocent behind. They return to Dark Kaia’s world, which is just as ominous as I remember. Kaia is saved and Dark Kaia decides to stay, even though it doesn’t look like her world is going to last much longer.

Jack and Kaia have a nice chat and we learn that nursery rhymes can get you through quite a lot.

It seems that all is well and Chuck has not been alerted, but another surprise guest is about to make her own appearance with killer style.

1

“I see the big picture…”

Billie shows up and takes out the reaper who has been spying on Jack, but good news never seems to travel along with her. Billie reveals that all the worlds are dying except for this one. Chuck is “wiping the slate clean” for the end, but Sam asks Billie what her end game is.

Billie reveals that everyone has a book in death’s library…even Chuck/God. Apparently the books write themselves and no one can read their own books. Billie reminds Sam and Dean that this is their destiny. They are the messengers of God’s destruction, but is there a price that comes along with this destiny?

What’s inside Chuck’s book and how is it linked to the fate of the Winchesters?

We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but it looks like the glimmer of hope is increasing more and more now…even in the midst of the end of the world.
