Ranking the top 5 moments from “Shameless” season 11 episode 9: “Survivors”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching Showtime’s Shameless season 11 episode 9, we were reminded about the importance of having a true “home.” Not defined by the location or the walls, but by the people we love the most.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not watched the latest episode yet.

In season 11, episode 9, “Survivors,” Ian and Mickey attempt to honor Terry’s last wish as they track down a woman from his past. Meanwhile, Liam worries about where he will live, Frank plans out the perfect heist, and Kev is left in charge of the girls.

My top 5 moments from Shameless season 11 episode 9 are:

5

“So this is the job?”

After Carl’s crash last week, he is now moving to the eviction team. He basically is there to provide support/back-up and watch people get evicted and he even has one of his former training officers back…Tipping. Tipping seems excited to be back, but is using way too many metaphors to promote his new philosophy.

Shameless season 11 episode 9 Carl

Images courtesy of Showtime

I have a feeling we may get to witness Carl work with every department on the force at this rate…

4

“It’s time for me to step up and be a father.”

“Now?” Frank decides to pull off the perfect heist he planned years ago at the Art Institute and attempts to put back together his old crew, but this proves to be more challenging than he realized when he learns that one is in a wheelchair, one is rich, and the other is dead.

Shameless season 11 episode 9 Franks heist

Frank’s memory continues to waver in and out, but it looks like he somehow pulled off the job. Does this mean that he is actually going to buy the Gallagher house?

I’d love to see that extra footage…

3

“You left Jemma and Amy with Kevin?”

I mean, he is there father as V points out, but V is busy helping her mom move to Kentucky. V is less than impressed with the new change of scenery, but it might be nice for the girls.

Shameless season 11 episode 9 Kev

Images courtesy of Showtime

Speaking of the girls, Kev has his hands full when he is in charge of watching them at the bar. The girls don’t listen to him and end up getting into the edibles and then running off. Kev is certainly trying his best, but these girls are running circles around him…

Let’s hope they are OK.

2

“We should at least try and find the bitch.”

Mickey is dealing with some mixed emotions after his father’s death. He finds a box marked “Rachel” with some old photos and an address. Ian and Mickey decide to track down Rachel and learn that she was Terry’s first love.

Shameless season 11 episode 9 Gallavich

Images courtesy of Showtime

The more they talk to Rachel, the more they begin to realize where Terry’s hate came from, as we learn that Rachel is Jewish and Terry was not allowed to marry her and she is now married to a black man.

Later on, Mickey decides to honor Terry’s wish to have him cremated, but they forgot to claim the body at the morgue and he’s off to a shared grave. Luckily, Ian and Mickey decide to light his remains up on fire anyway while giving us a delightful rendition of “I Will Survive.”

Seriously, these Gallavich moments have been absolutely amazing this season. They should do a spin-off! It looks like Mickey can move on, but it was nice to see a softer side of him.

1

“Are we selling or not?”

During the episode, Debbie continues to clash with Lip over selling the house and Liam is extremely worried that he is going to end up homeless. At the end of the episode, we witness two heartwarming moments.

Debbie reveals to Lip that she doesn’t want Franny to be alone and worries about her growing up without her family around. Lip promises that they will still have weekly dinners together, which was a nice gesture. I’d love to see that continue because the Gallagher family has to stay together in some capacity.

Meanwhile, Lip finally goes to talk to Liam about everything and tells him that he can live with him and Tami, which was a really touching moment. Liam always gets forgotten so this was really nice to see.

Although now that Frank stole that painting, I’m wondering what’s truly in store for the infamous Gallagher home…

Stay tuned Gallagher fans!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 5 Episode 8: “Lock & Key”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 5 episode 8, I learned that the “more things change, the more they stay EXACTLY the same.”

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In episode, “Chapter Eighty-Four: Lock & Key,” Cheryl decides to throw a key party to throw a little chaos at the drama brewing between the group. Meanwhile, Kev and Fangs contemplate the future of their relationship, Veronica wants a change, and Betty and Alice get a disturbing phone call.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 5 episode 8 are:

5

“I lost a lot of time.”

The extreme weirdness continues with Jughead’s plot as he begins to hallucinate. He thinks he is seeing the alien specimen lurking around, but is it all in his head?

Jughead even joins a support group to talk about it, but he decides to walk away from it when things get to be too much.

Just like I predicted, Tabitha clearly likes Jughead and even suggests that they go out on a normal date, but Jughead is too much in his head to even really hear her and decides to get drunk instead.

Tabitha actually may be the right choice for Jughead, but he has to get his addiction under control before he screws up this opportunity for good.

Or I guess some alien will take him away and probe him…

4

“What in the actual….”

Yep. You took the words right out of my mouth, Cheryl. Another theory of mine came true when we learned that Toni is actually the surrogate for Kev and Fangs. Cheryl is floored by the news, but Toni tries to tell her that she still cares about her deeply.

Cheryl’s stubbornness shines through; however, as she decides to throw a key party instead to shake things up. Everyone has to pick someone’s key in a bowl and have at it with their wildest dreams and fantasies.

Riverdale season 5 episode 8 Cheryl

Images courtesy of The CW

Parties don’t go so well at Cheryl’s house so I already could see the chaos swirling around everyone. Cheryl and Toni do end up picking one another, but Toni is upset by Cheryl’s behavior. Cheryl tries to surprise her with a nursery at Thornhill, but Toni reminds her that she doesn’t want her and her baby to stay locked away from everything and apologizes for leading her on.

Even though the Choni fan in me is rooting for these two to get together, things take time and it looks like Cheryl will be busy with Minerva. If Minerva looks familiar, it’s because she played Agatha on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina so I’m always happy to see a familiar face pop up in the Archie universe.

3

“A window of light in the dark.”

Even though the beginning of the episode presented us with some hot and steamy scenes between Barchie, these two are having mixed feelings once again. Archie tells Betty that he does still have lingering feelings for Veronica (really?) and Betty tells him that she needs to focus on Polly’s disappearance and she doesn’t want to bring Archie into her darkness.

It’s clear that these two will still remain friends, but I can’t say that I’m not disappointed. I don’t think we were given enough time to actually explore this relationship after seven years and now it seems like we’re right back where we started again…

2

“I will be fighting fire with fire.”

Veronica wants a change and she starts by having her entire apartment redone to really spark this change. But the real change Veronica is looking for is within her marriage. After Chadwick forces them to leave the party early, Veronica asks for a divorce because she is also not over Archie and these two are back together again?

Riverdale season 5 episode 8 Archie

Images courtesy of The CW

I’m sure the Varchie fan is excited for this, but I honestly thought this felt extremely rushed and out of place. Whether Archie has feelings for Veronica or not, he was just with Betty and I appreciate that he told Veronica about that, which shows that he has matured in some ways.

But on the other hand, Veronica is still married. She didn’t get divorced overnight and I have a feeling that Chadwick is going to team up with Hiram somehow to bring forth more drama and destruction.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you Varchie…

1

“She’s alive.”

Betty continues to deal with nightmares surrounding TBK, but we still have some time before we explore that plot fully. Meanwhile, Alice tells Betty that she received a call from Polly, but Betty is not so sure.

Riverdale season 5 episode 8 Betty

Images courtesy of The CW

Later in the episode, Betty actually picks up the call and Polly asks for their help, claiming she is on the side of the Lost Highway. Betty and Alice rush out to help her (with no back-up). This is when FP would really come in handy…

Only they don’t find Polly, but the phone booth she was in is broken and filled with blood.

We know that Polly was alive, but is this really it for her or is there still a chance that Betty can catch this roadside killer before it’s too late?

I’m ready to find out and next week’s episode looks fantastic already. We need a Betty-centric episode now!

Stay tuned, Riverdale fans!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Shameless” season 11 episode 8: “Cancelled”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching Showtime’s Shameless season 11 episode 8, we were reminded about the importance of memories. Sometimes we may take them for granted, but when it comes down to it, they’re all we have left when it matters the most.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not watched the latest episode yet.

In season 11, episode 8, “Cancelled,” Ian and Mickey try to hire someone to watch over Mickey’s dad, but they run into a few problems along the way. Meanwhile, Lip and Tami bond over breaking the law, Debbie attempts to blow off some steam, and Kev and V cause us to shed a few tears of joy.

My top 5 moments from Shameless season 11 episode 8 are:

5

“The Carl curse.”

Carl seems initially confused about what this actually is, but when he is informed that all of his training officers end up injured while with him, it starts to make a lot more sense. Carl is assigned to vice and at first, it seems pretty glamorous.

His two new training officers drive around fancy cars and spend the majority of their time trying to make a profit, but things get tricky when they say they are about to raid the Alibi Room. Luckily, Carl always has a plan and this curse is really more of a blessing!

4

“The day is young.”

Debbie decides to let off some steam and crashes with her bartender friend. Debbie sifts through her ex-girlfriend’s clothing pile and dresses up so that she can feel good about herself, even though she is heartbroken over her family and Sandy.

Debbie takes things a little too far and ends up waking up on a street corner looking like a hooker. No one has picked up Franny and Debbie runs into Sandy on the way back.

Sandy really wants to talk things out, but Debbie remains stubborn and tells her goodbye, which left poor Sandy in tears when she walked away.

Shameless Debbie and Sandy season 11 episode 8

Images courtesy of Showtime

Even though Sandy has been less than forthcoming about her baggage and past, Debbie has a lot issues too and I think that these two can actually help each other in the long run, but let’s hope they can resolve their issues.

3

“Family’s family.”

Ian and Mickey try to figure out what to do with Mickey’s dad, but start striking out when it comes to hiring some help. After Terry manages to scare away his new nurse within less than five minutes, Ian and Mickey really do their homework and bring in a nun who is not afraid to smack Terry in the back of the head when he gets out of line.

However, things take a drastic turn when they come home and learn that the nun had to “punish” Terry by suffocating him to death. I guess it’s the thought that counts?

2

“Carpet Denim.”

Sure, Kev may not get the phrases right, but he loves V through and through. Kev and V have been the most consistent couple over the entire series and we finally get to witness them get married officially when Kev learns that a zoom appointment at City Hall has opened up.

Kev and V Shameless season 11

Images courtesy of Showtime

V’s mom and their daughters are present while they celebrate the day and luckily Carl created that distraction outside which would have turned this beautiful day into a nightmare.

I was really glad to see this heartwarming moment between Kev and V especially after witnessing the Gallavich wedding last season. Perfection!

1

“I’m sure I mentioned it.”

After Frank loses his memory during his speech at Liam’s school, he is taken to the hospital. The Gallagher family finally learns the truth about his condition, which is an important revelation for the end of the series.

The Gallagher family has been through a lot and Frank has not really been present for a lot of important moments because of his drinking. However, I thought that his speech about memories was really important and maybe now he can try to make amends and make the most out of his time with his family because all he has left are fading memories.

This leaves each member of the Gallagher family with an important decision as well. Do they close the book on Frank or do they try and help him in his time of need?

We only have four episodes left and I’m curious to see who will be coming back for the series finale. There have been rumors about Fiona returning along with Karen and Sheila, but what about Jimmy?

Stay tuned Gallagher fans!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 5 Episode 7: “Fire in the Sky”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 5 episode 7, I learned that you actually fight fire with a fire department….

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In episode, “Chapter Eighty-Three: Fire in the Sky,” Archie attempts to recruit the new volunteer fire department for the town. Meanwhile, Cheryl and Toni continue to clash over the Vixens, and Betty discovers a pattern involving Polly’s disappearance.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 5 episode 7 are:

5

“Who’s with me?”

After Archie’s family home is set on fire, Archie feels motivated to get the Riverdale fire department running again, but he strikes out when he asks some of his own friends. However, he is not out of luck because some of his new students seem up for the challenge.

Later on, Archie risks his life to try and save someone and has clearly not shed his hero complex over the years. While I love Archie’s heroic side, he needs to remember that he is not alone.

Images courtesy of The CW

Plus, Veronica just bought that shiny new fire truck. However, I’m not sure how practical it is…

4

“This is personal.”

The feud continues between Veronica and Hiram. Veronica is not going to let her father ruin Riverdale and decides to work on a project with her economics class that involves her circulating “monopoly money with her face on it” in town.

Seriously, the funniest thing Jughead has ever said.

The concept seems to be working and it is certainly boosting morale, but things go south when someone inflates the cash and Veronica suspects her father. Only we discover that it was some of the students in her class and they actually feel pretty bad about it.

Well, at least they have been recruited to pick up the trash left out in Riverdale…

3

“The bitch is back in town.”

We have missed you Cheryl Bombshell! Cheryl makes a grand entrance and we watch an epic dance-off between her and one of Toni’s Vixens. Cheryl agrees to co-captain the team with Toni, but it’s clear that they have very different approaches to leadership.

Images courtesy of The CW

Later on, Toni hits Cheryl with some hard truth and it looks like she has a new problem to face when she is exposed for trying to sell a counterfeit painting of her brother. I’m not really sure what this buyer wants from Cheryl and Nana Rose, but she’s not going to go away quietly.

Either way, I was really happy to see Cheryl break out of her shell again. The quiet/crazy version was not doing her any favors.

2

“What do you think it was?”

I didn’t realize that Riverdale had crossed into the sci-fi genre, but this Mothman mystery seems alien in nature. Jughead finds out more and learns that Pop and Nana Rose saw an unexplainable light many years ago outside of Pop’s.

Nana Rose actually kept the body in maple syrup that she discovered and Jughead and Tabitha are beyond confused, but things get even more strange when Jughead witnesses the same phenomenon and then the body mysteriously disappears.

Images courtesy of The CW

So, is it government testing, aliens, or something else?

I’m not sure, but I have to say that I’m digging Jughead’s new look with the glasses. Although he needs to cut out his drinking…that’s going to become a bigger problem soon.

1

“Three’s a pattern.”

Meanwhile, Betty continues to investigate Polly’s disappearance and Hiram is less than helpful when he refuses to let them search his land on Swedlow Swamp. An unidentified body is discovered and Betty also learns about a girl named Margaret Harper who went missing three years ago.

Betty recognizes that three missing girls is definitely a pattern. Later on, Reggie actually helps her out and tells her he found another body. The body is revealed to be Margaret Harper and Reggie tells Hiram that if they let them search the land, he will look like the good guy.

But, what’s his real end game here?

Meanwhile, Betty learns that the Trash Bag Killer or “TBK” is back and we get a few more scattered flashbacks of when Betty was abducted. Honestly, I really hope they do an entire episode dedicated to this because I want to know what happened to Betty.

Are these two serial killers connected?

Is Polly still alive?

We’ll have to wait and see, but Betty is on the case!

Stay tuned, Riverdale fans!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Shameless” season 11 episode 7: “Two at a Biker Bar, One in the Lake”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching Showtime’s Shameless season 11 episode 7, I learned that sometimes people make different choices and that’s OK.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not watched the latest episode yet.

In season 11, episode 7, “Two at a Biker Bar, One in the Lake,” the Gallagher family continues to argue over whether or not to sell their home. Meanwhile, Ian and Mickey decide to make new friends, another secret about Sandy is revealed, and Carl has a meltdown during a safety presentation for kids.

My top 5 moments from Shameless season 11 episode 7 are:

5

“I’m not living with your family.”

The vote is still undecided, but Tami is ready to move back in with her family until they can get back on their feet. Lip refuses to live with her family; however, and would rather “slit his throat.”

Shameless season 11 episode 7

Images courtesy of Showtime

Lip continues to try and convince the rest of the family to sell the house so he can make enough cash, but eventually makes a compromise and applies for a job at an Amazon facility to appease Tami, but it may be too late for that now…

4

“Please don’t let me die.”

Meanwhile, Kev gets into a little bit of trouble when a cop pulls him over riding one of Lip’s stolen bikes. Only she seems more interested in buying the bike and knows exactly where to find Kev thanks to his T-shirt.

Kev decides to move the bikes, but things get tricky, causing him to actually ride one into Lake Michigan.

There goes twenty grand…

3

“I guess you’re a better person than I am.”

After the reveal about Sandy’s husband, we now discover that she also has a son named Prince. Prince is actually pretty adorable, but Sandy says that she doesn’t want to be his mom.

Shameless season 11 episode 7 recap 1

Images courtesy of Showtime

This strikes a nerve with Debbie, who has given up everything for her own daughter. She tries to tell Sandy that she can’t just abandon her child, but Sandy tries to explain that she was just trying to figure out who she was and brings up some of Debbie’s emotional baggage in the process.

2

“If I need friends, you need friends.”

Gallavich continues to bring us some hilarious moments as they come to an agreement that they need to make some new gay friends. After striking out a few times, they meet a gay couple and are invited to a book signing.

Shameless season 11 episode 7 recap Gallavich

Images courtesy of Showtime

Mickey works on his dazzling smile and the two eventually decide that this may not be the best place for them, although they put on a showstopping number of “Rain On Me.”

More please!

1

“Let’s just vote and be done with it.”

Easier said than done, as the vote ends up being tied. The arguing continues, but Lip decides to walk in with a sledge hammer and start forcing his “open floor plan” on everyone. Frank eventually stumbles into the chaos and has been dealing with his own issues throughout the episode, but he seems temporarily relieved to see his family.

At the very of the episode, the cops are looking for Lip and Debbie confirms that he is inside, which means that things are about to go from bad to worse for Lip.

Let’s see how this all turns out…

Stay tuned, Gallagher fans!

Checking in on “The Walking Dead” Season 10: Who are the Reapers?

Happy Wednesday TV Fans! When we last checked in on AMC’s The Walking Dead, the Whisperers were defeated and Maggie returned. But now that she is back, has she brought a new threat along with her?

**Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on the series.**

A lot has happened in season 10 and with the extended season, we will be getting six bonus episodes before we approach the final season of the show. A lot can happen in six episodes and we have a lot of characters to catch up with.

First up is Maggie. Welcome home! Maggie returns and I am actually very happy to see her. With Michonne’s exit last year, we needed a fan favorite to return and I think that Maggie can help remind us why we started to love this show in the first place.

TWD season 10 Maggie

Images courtesy of AMC

We get a lot of drama in the beginning of the episode and I started seeing polls on Twitter about whether or not Maggie should forgive Negan. Negan brutally killed her husband in front of her. We can’t expect her to forgive him even though he saved the group against the Whisperers with his actions.

Carol tries to explain her reasons for letting Negan out and Maggie appreciates her honesty, but I don’t think that Negan should get too close to her. Alexandria isn’t big enough for the both of them so we’ll have to see how this plays out and we know that Negan tends to form friendships with some of the children in the group so I’m curious to see if he will approach Hershel or not.

Meanwhile, Daryl and Maggie head back to their camp and learn that it is has been burned to the ground and their people are either dead or missing. Maggie is very worried about Hershel and we come face-to-face with a Reaper threat. These scenes were actually pretty chilling and the Reaper they catch decides to blow himself up rather than come clean about who he is and what his people want.

TWD season 10

Images courtesy of AMC

That leaves us with a lot of questions about this new group, but I’m not sure how much we will focus on them in the bonus episodes since there are a lot of other characters to follow up with.

Speaking of that, I am so happy that Kelly got some well deserved screen time in this episode. She and Maggie actually have a nice heart-to-heart talk and Kelly is extremely worried about Connie. Honestly, I am just waiting to see this reunion between her and Connie and I really want to see Daryl’s reaction.

TWD season 10 Kelly

Let’s also talk about how adorable Hershel is and how he even wears a baseball cap like his father. It’s clear that he can already take care of himself when Maggie later finds him hiding in a tree when the Reapers were attacking.

TWD season 10 Hershel

Images courtesy of AMC

It looks like in next week’s episode we will focus more on Daryl and we will even get to see Dog. It honestly makes me nervous every time we see Dog because I don’t want anything to happen to him, but I’ll try to stay positive.

I really hope that Daryl can find Connie during these bonus episodes and we don’t have to wait until season 11 but I’m not sure. We also need to check back in with Eugene’s group as well and see what’s going on there with the mysterious Stephanie.

Is there a connection between Stephanie and the Reapers or are these two separate groups?

We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Let’s hope that these bonus episodes provide a lot more than fluff because I need the action to outweigh the drama to keep me invested.

Either way, I’m anxious to find out what happens next!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on TWD in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Checking in on “Nancy Drew” Season 2: Headed in the Right Direction

Happy Monday TV Fans! When we last checked in on The CW’s Nancy Drew, I mentioned that the show needed to adapt the weekly mystery style in order to keep things from becoming too heavy and stale.

**Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on the series.**

After defeating the Aglaeca, I started to wonder what would happen next. Sure, we have Odette occupying George’s body, which should become a major plot point at some point, but I also wanted something new and different for Nancy and I think we have finally reached that point!

Nancy Drew George Odette

Images courtesy of The CW

In the beginning of season 2 episode 6, Nancy is doing her community service in a morgue and I have to say that I loved the change of scenery for her. As much as I like her working at The Claw, she needed something to keep the mysteries going and with dead bodies turning up and spirits being unleashed, this is the perfect new setting for her and it really gave me some Tru Calling vibes, which I loved!

Nancy Drew Morgue

Images courtesy of The CW

After figuring out the newest case, I learned that we wouldn’t get a new episode until March 10th, but the trailer already looks like it is going to deliver. There is a haunted hotel and Nancy is brought on the case, which reveals that we are heading in the right direction for this show.

I loved the Nancy Drew book series growing up and part of that was because there was a new mystery to solve in each book. I was worried that the show might lose steam from the first season, but it is checking off my criteria and then some.

Sure, we know we have to figure out what is going on with the whole George/Odette thing. I’ve watched enough horror films to know that two souls can’t occupy one body for long and I’m not sure I’m a fan of George’s weird singing in French.

We also have the new dynamic between Nancy and Carson and she will be working for him as well, which should also give us plenty of material to work with. So, what can we expect?

Nancy and Carson

Images courtesy of The CW

Well, I think we will get our share of hauntings and spirits since they released a lot after saving George. I also am hoping to get some mysteries based in reality as well to give us a steady balance and to keep us guessing.

Either way, I think that season 2 is headed in the right direction and I am anxious to find out what happens next!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Nancy Drew in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 5 Episode 6: “Back to School”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 5 episode 6, I learned that high school offers hope, but is that enough to bring a town back to life?

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In episode, “Chapter Eighty-Two: Back to School,” the Barchie time jump continues to provide us with some passionate moments. Meanwhile, Veronica sings karaoke with her husband, Hiram eats a bag of Doritos in the most sinister way, and Betty investigates Polly’s disappearance.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 5 episode 6 are:

5

“What do you want to know?”

Riverdale season 5 episode 6 Tabitha

Images courtesy of The CW

Jughead wants to know more about the town for his next book and asks Tabitha if he can interview her. Tabitha Tate is the newest addition to the show played by Erinn Westbrook. Jughead starts to learn more about the “Mothman Mystery,” but I have a feeling that we may see a romantic story-line thrown our way between these two.

“What the hell?”

The Barchie time jump scenes do not disappoint in this episode. Betty and Archie realize that they need to be creative about where they get together and we witness a steamy make-out session in the car.

Only, this is interrupted when some of the Stonewall Prep students decide to light a fire in Riverdale High.

Fear not because we do get some more Barchie action later on in the episode and I think that it’s safe to say that these two may actually be end game after all.

More please!

“Let’s see what you can do.”

Reggie continues to be annoying, but I actually really laughed out loud when Archie punched him in the face. You had it coming, Reggie. Archie decides to try and get the football team going at school, but he needs more funding and Cheryl has already done her part.

Meanwhile, Toni re-ignites the Vixens and Cheryl is far from pleased. She takes a break from her counterfeit painting scam to tell Toni that she is not going to let her take the Vixens away and I think this is the spark we have been looking for.

Welcome back, Queen Cheryl!

Luckily Archie does get the funding from Veronica so it looks like the school spirit can continue, but I’m not sure if this will really resolve the Hiram Lodge problem just yet. Just keep eating those Doritos, Hiram.

2

“Have you and my father been talking behind my back?”

Chad is my least favorite character right now. It feels like Veronica just married a younger version of her father. I don’t trust him and I think she can do so much better.

Sure, they put on a show-stopping karaoke number, but it’s all an act and I was proud of Veronica for telling him that they need some time apart at the end.

Although I can’t keep her name straight with all of these changes over the seasons…

1

“Polly’s missing.”

Betty and Kev start investigating Polly’s disappearance which was the most interesting part of the episode. Apparently Polly was selling Jingle Jangle and hooking up with truckers and Toni points Betty in the right direction on the highway.

Betty messages one of the truckers and asks him to meet, but it’s clear that he didn’t have anything to do with Polly’s disappearance. Betty enlists the help of Alice and they go looking for clues in Swedlow Swamp.

I didn’t even know that Riverdale had a swamp, but at the end of the episode we hear a cell ringing and see a corpse hand in a shallow grave.

Is it Polly?

I’m thinking it’s the body of Lynette Fields and they are going to connect this to Polly, but we’ll have to wait until March 10th for a new episode.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 5 Episode 5: “The Homecoming”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 5 episode 5, I learned that coming home may seem difficult at first, but the more things change…the more they stay the same.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In episode, “Chapter Eighty-One: The Homecoming,” our core four adjust to life back in Riverdale. Meanwhile, Hiram attempts to destroy Riverdale for good, Veronica’s husband is proving to be a nuisance, and the potential truck killer returns.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 5 episode 5 are:

5

“It’s good to see you…”

In the beginning of the episode, we get a somewhat awkward reunion between Betty and Jughead. They both agree that it is good to see one another, but it’s clear that they haven’t really talked much in years. I think that the reunion went well, but I didn’t really see any sparks flying between these two anymore…

Is the love triangle over? We’ll have to wait and see…

4

“When do we kick their asses?”

Archie is determined to get the Ghoulies out of his house and even goes to Reggie for help. Only Reggie seems more interested in testing out his latest hair gel product and he is loyal to Hiram Lodge now…but why? Does Hiram have something over him?

It’s clear that someone warned the Ghoulies and they got all of the drugs out of the house, but Betty is not about to sit by and let this happen…especially when she finds out that Polly is hanging around with them.

Yep, Polly is back and Betty discovers that she is lying about her waitress job, but where is she getting all of that cash?

Betty and the others form a raid and find what they are looking for and I loved seeing the team-up between Betty and Archie here…talk about sparks…

3

“Would you do it for me?”

Meanwhile, the school administrators are concerned because Hiram Lodge is trying to dissolve the town. That means that funding would be cut and it would basically be “the death of Riverdale.”

Toni is determined to stop him and they come up with a plan to make the school private, which would allow them to hire their own teachers.

Toni goes to Cheryl and even though she initially doesn’t want to get involved, she ends up putting up the money to help Toni.

I still believe in Choni and I hope that Cheryl can see that she can still do good in this town…

2

“What just happened?”

What just happened is, we got the hot and steamy Barchie scene we have been waiting for…wow!

Afterwards, Betty and Archie seem just as confused and say that they are friends, but I think this is the start of a beautiful romance.

Jughead has been out of the picture for years and Veronica is married, but things might get a bit complicated if Jughead actually decides to move in with Archie…

Betty and Archie have grown up a lot and they finally get a chance to explore the feelings between them, but I have a feeling that the drama will never leave them alone completely…

1

“Bulldogs forever.”

After getting the funding, Hiram does still dissolve the town, but we learn that life continues anyway. Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead will be staying in town as temporary teachers and perhaps they can really bring this town back to life.

Meanwhile, Pop retires and we get a heartfelt speech about his influence over the town.

The mystery isn’t over just yet; however, as we now see Polly running from the mysterious trucker that followed Lynette Fields at the end of episode 4.

So, who is this trucker?

Is Polly alive or dead?

In the meantime, check out my feature for Mystery & Suspense Magazine on why the Riverdale time jump is exactly what we need here!

I’m invested and I can’t wait to find out more. Stay tuned, Riverdale fans!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Shameless” season 11 episode 6: “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good…Eh, Screw It”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching Showtime’s Shameless season 11 episode 6, I learned that “giving up is for pussies,” but sometimes life can throw a curve ball and you may end up seeing things differently.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not watched the latest episode yet.

In season 11, episode 6, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good…Eh, Screw It,” Frank gets a troubling diagnosis. Meanwhile, Liam tries to deal with his guilt, Lip and Tami consider selling the Gallagher home, and Debbie tries to get some answers.

My top 5 moments from Shameless season 11 episode 6 are:

5

“Less talking, more stealing.”

In this episode, we quickly learn that Lip only fell off the wagon for one night, but the plot to rob his former place of employment is still on. Luckily he has Mickey to help him out, but it seems like they really haven’t thought this through. Lip and Tami don’t have a place to live anymore which creates more issues for them.

Let’s just hope that Lip doesn’t get caught…

4

“Whoever did it deserves a medal.”

Mr. Milkovich is surprisingly alive, but he is now paralyzed after being shot by Liam’s fired bullet into the air. Liam is really starting to feel guilty and starts wondering about penance and Hell. Frank gives him a few pep talks, but Liam has always been the good one of the bunch and he clearly has a lot to deal with now.

3

“This is messed up.”

It’s “Bring Your Mom to School” day and V is excited to accompany her girls for the day. Only she quickly changes her tune when she learns that they are about to have a drill in case there is ever an active shooter.

Jemma and Amy are actually really prepared and V should at least be happy that her daughters can react in a hostile scenario, but the teacher doesn’t seem too convinced by V’s concerns…

2

“I love you.”

After spending the majority of the episode complaining about Sandy and sending her a million texts, Deb finally has a heart-to-heart talk with her and learns the truth about Royal and her situation.

Debbie tells Sandy that she loves her and it looks like she may have actually found a real relationship this time around.

Don’t mess it up, Deb!

1

“That was big of you.”

Even though there are a lot of comedic moments in this episode, there are actually a lot of emotionally moving ones as well. Frank has a heart-to-heart talk with Mr. Milkovich and we also discover that Frank is in early stages of Alcohol Dementia.

Lip and Tami consider selling the Gallagher home so they can all lead separate lives, but thankfully the rest of the family shuts down this plan. Even though the show is ending, let’s have it end on the right note.

Shameless Gallavich season 11 episode 6

Finally, Mickey has this incredible moment where he actually puts his rage aside and helps his dad get up to the porch. Ian is really proud of him and reminds him that he is a good person. I thought this moment was really important for the character development of Mickey and it also helped really solidify how epic and amazing Gallavich is.

It will be interesting to see what happens now with Frank, but I’m hoping that things end on a positive note…at least as much as they can.

Stay tuned, Gallagher fans!

I hope you enjoyed the recap and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Shameless in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Best,
