My performance of the week ending 11/30/19 on TV goes to…

Christian Serratos as Rosita on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

**Nominated by Luke from QuizUp. Thanks Luke!**

When Christian Serratos was first introduced on TWD as Rosita, I thought she was strong-willed and stubborn with a guarded heart.  She was a bad-ass and someone I was always confident in to save the day.

Over the seasons, Rosita has not always gotten the spotlight she deserves, as her character became entangled in some interesting love triangles that seemed more like plot fluff.

When Rosita became a mother, I was really excited because I thought that this might bring us some new layers to her character.  Rosita has this spark within her and I have been waiting for it to light up the screen and it looks like it has finally happened!

**Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not up-to-date on the series.**

Christian Serratos’s performance in season 10 episode 8 was so real and heartbreaking.  Rosita puts the needs of her baby first, but I cannot possibly imagine what she was going through when she had to take down undead Siddiq.

Rosita has always put up a strong front previously and she channels some of her rage by playing Fight Club with the walkers outside the gates.  Rosita loses her cool a few times and ends up needing to be saved by Eugene, which is a wake-up call for her.

Rosita starts to realize that she may die, which never scared her before, but now she wants to be there for Baby Coco.  Rosita now wants to live more than ever and I could almost see the strength emerge within her eyes.  The grief and the heartbreak will still be present, but Rosita understands that she needs to keep fighting for herself and for her child.

We are finally seeing a lot of character development for Rosita, so I hope that this doesn’t mean that we may lose her.  TWD has a tendency to give us these brilliant moments only to brutally rip these characters away from us, but I’m going to continue rooting for Rosita.

She’s strong and resilient, but she is also now finally lifting the guard around her heart to let others in and to truly be there for her child.

What’s next for Rosita?  We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like a potential romance with fan-favorite, Eugene, may not be too far off anymore.  While I kind of just want Rosita to get away from all of this romantic drama, I know that Eugene selflessly cares for both her and Baby Coco so I’m willing to give this a chance, but I want to see Rosita continue to fight and transform into the warrior I know she can be.

Either way, I am really happy with season 10 so far and part of that is because we are finally getting some worthy character development from characters who have previously taken a back seat in other seasons.

I can’t wait to find out what happens next in the second half of the season and I am beyond excited to witness Rosita’s journey even more!

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Light as a Feather” Season 2 Part 2 on Hulu: “The Skin Crawling moments are Back with a Vengeance!”

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

Light as a feather, stiff as a board.

Light as a feather, stiff as a board.

She’s dying.

She’s dying.

She’s dead.

She’s dead…

Your favorite deadly slumber party game is back!  After airing the first 8 episodes of season 2 back in July 2019, Hulu has released part 2 of the season as of October 4th 2019.  Episodes 9-16 are all currently available to stream.

The show stars Liana Liberato, Haley Ramm, Brianne Tju, and Jordan Rodrigues and follows a group of friends who play a deadly game of Light as a Feather, which predicts exactly how they will die, targeting them one by one.  After a slightly disappointing start to season 2, I was worried about the second half of the season.  Did it live up to the bone-chilling moments in season 1 or did it fizzle out for good?  Let’s find out!

The Pros:

Light as a Feather Hulu October 2019 1

The performances of Haley Ramm (Violet), Liana Liberato (McKenna), and Brianne Tju (Alex).

Again, I have to give it up to this trio.  Some of the characters on this show seem filler, but these three ladies held my attention the entire time.  I love that they all didn’t start out as friends and their bond becomes stronger when they are all linked together by this curse, but the dynamic between them is fantastic and they really elevate the show.

The skin crawling moments are back!

Season 1 gave me some nightmares for sure, as some moments were genuinely shocking and hard to watch.  These moments really gave a show that is mostly dipped in bubble gum pop horror a chance to be a little bit darker and I was disappointed when this fizzled out in the first half of season 2.  However, the second half of the season delivered with this, giving us several moments that will really make you cringe and then some!

Satisfying twists.

We all know the game and I knew it would be hard to keep the show fresh and interesting, but I thought the second half of season 2 did a good job of keeping us on our toes.  The twists worked for the most part and they kept me guessing up until the end.

The Cons:

Light as a Feather Hulu October 2019 2

Channeling too much Lifetime…

So, this show has had a lot of teenage drama since the start and that’s not necessarily a bad thing if you are used to shows like Pretty Little Liars and Riverdale.  I didn’t even really mind the will-they-won’t-they love triangle and I appreciated the LGBTQ relationship, but there were some moments that just felt like a failed attempt to throw in some fatal attraction psycho components, which weren’t really needed in my opinion.

Some really obvious moments.

I don’t know what it was, but there were just some moments that had that hit you over the head feel that undermined the show slightly.  For example, (hey, here’s a bottle of pills…he must have taken these).  I don’t expect everything to be a major twist, but I do want it to be believable as well.  This didn’t happen all the time, but I did notice it more than I did in the first season.

So am I in or out?

I’m back in!  Even though I had some issues with the season overall, I still enjoyed the watch.  The short episodes really helped move the binge-watching along and it’s just one of those shows that you can really enjoy especially around Halloween, so I have to give it up to Hulu for perfect timing.

Overall, I think this series is a lot of fun and it really gives you a lot of nostalgia for 90’s movies like The Craft and I Know What You Did Last Summer.  Sure, there is a lot of teenage drama mixed in, but the skin crawling moments really helped push this one over to the darker side for me. There is no word yet on a season 3, but I’m not sure that we necessarily need one, although there is always something left open at the end…

Enjoy the watch and perhaps you may want to re-consider any slumber party games in the future…

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Light as a Feather in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 6 episode 12: “That’s A Lot to Think About!”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 6 episode 12 season finale, I realized that “we have to make choices in life,” but it seems like Liza is not having a super easy time with this and things are only going to get more complicated for her.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “Forever,” Liza’s two worlds collide again, when she is left with an overwhelming choice that may change her life forever.  Meanwhile, Kelsey contemplates her next steps and Diana and Enzo get married.  My top 5 moments from the Younger season 6 episode 12 season finale are:

5

“I’m taking a leap and the net will appear.”

Well maybe, “but what if the sidewalk appears first,” as Liza points out to her good friend, Kelsey, who decides to move forward with her decision to leave Millennial.  Both Charles and Liza try to convince Kelsey to change her mind, but they do respect her decision.  Kelsey is looking to start her own publishing company and even secures Quinn as an investor, which surprises everyone, but is this really the right move for our girl Kelsey?

4

“It’s Diana’s day.”

Even though Diana’s wedding mostly serves as the background for this jam-packed episode, Diana looks beyond gorgeous in her gown and I was so happy to see her and Enzo get married without that interesting ice sculpture on display.  Leave it to Maggie and Lauren to stir up just the right amount of trouble!  Either way, it was wonderful to see one of my favorite ships finally get their happily ever after and I can’t wait to see what happens next with them!

3

“Does this count as me reaching out?”

Kelsey is going through a lot and Zane tries to show his support, but he also gives Kelsey a reality check about starting her own publishing company, especially since he just went through this recently.  Zane tells Kelsey that he thought she was awesome in the way she handled everything, but he also doesn’t like that she bailed on him and reminds her that it will need to be her move if she wants to pursue their relationship in the future.

Luckily, it doesn’t take Kelsey too long to discover where her heart truly lies, as she holds Zane’s hand during Diana and Enzo’s wedding, letting Zane know that she’s ready to give their relationship a true chance.  I ship these two so much and I am really happy that they are going to keep things going!  Yay!

2

“I wouldn’t want anyone else to have it…”

After Infinitely 21 wants to use Liza’s tattoo design, Josh explains that he needs to get permission.  Liza initially tells him that it’s fine, but she quickly has a change of heart, flashing back to the day that Josh gave her that tattoo, realizing how unique and special it is to their past relationship.

Liza says, “It’s ours” and Josh seems to be pleased with her answer, recognizing that perhaps Liza has not truly moved on just yet.  A tattoo is forever, but is Liza ready to finally trust her instincts and go with her heart?  Well…it’s about to get even more complicated!

1

“Will you marry me?”

Charliza finally gets a moment alone during the season finale and it’s a very big moment, as Charles explains that perhaps the family trip was not a great idea and asks Liza to marry him.  Before Liza can answer, Kelsey interrupts and says, “I do” to Charles’s offer to make her a member of the board, giving her a stake in the company.  The bridal party splits these two apart and we are left seeing Liza and Charles looking at one another across the dance floor.

I mean, talk about a cliffhanger!  What will Liza say?  Is she ready to finally make a choice?  I can’t wait to find out and I’m curious to learn whether Team Charles or Team Josh will be victorious.  Although, perhaps Liza will choose herself during this impossible choice to make things even more dramatic, but we will have to wait until 2020 to find out!!!!!!  Stay tuned Younger fans!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 6 episode 11: “Dear Josh…”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 6 episode 11, I realized that words are extremely important, but the meaning and intention behind them is what truly matters.  Should we merely accept what is written down on the page or should we search for a deeper meaning that perhaps will make us question everything?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “Holding Out for a SHero,” Liza decides to write Josh a Dear John letter, but things get complicated when Josh confronts her about the true contents of the letter.  Meanwhile, Kelsey deals with the consequences of her social media mistake, Lauren shows off her skills at giving terrifying pep talks, and Diana reminds everyone that she does not want a bachelorette party.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 6 episode 11 are:

5

“So Josh is your sucker?”

In the beginning of the episode, Liza confides in Maggie about her decision to cut Josh out of her life because she doesn’t trust herself, but is there an undeniable chemistry still lingering?  It seems like Liza’s feelings have not vanished into thin air just yet even though she has Charles in her life, but is she trying to convince Maggie or herself here?  Josh and Charles bring out different qualities in Liza, but where does her heart truly lie?

4

“Whenever we try, one of us loses.”

Zane attempts to talk to Kelsey about what happened and feels partly to blame, but Kelsey shuts down and tells Zane that they are cursed.  I understand that Kelsey is going through a lot right now, but Zane is trying his best to be there for her.  After they revealed their true feelings for one another, it seemed like we were going to see some happiness for this ship, but is Kelsey denying her feelings again?  I’m really hoping she has a change of heart here because I can’t take the back and forth between these two.

3

“I get you.”

After Diana drops hints that she doesn’t want a bachelorette party, Liza proves to be a worthy maid of honor and surprises her with one anyway.  Kelsey and Liza seem preoccupied during the festivities, but Diana is having a lot of fun and even contemplates a tattoo.  Luckily, she has second thoughts about this, as I’m not really sure what she would have decided on, but it was fun to see her enjoy herself and I can’t wait to see her and Enzo get married!

2

“It’s time for me to move on.”

Liza is not the only one making a huge decision in this episode, as Kelsey deals with her recent demotion.  Kelsey seems to be handling everything just fine, but it’s clear that she may not be OK.  After warning some high school girls about the dangers of social media, Kelsey may have gotten her SHero status back, but she realizes that she needs to write a letter of her own and tells Charles that she has decided to move on from the company.

Is this the right move for Kelsey?  We’ll have to wait and see, but Kelsey has always worked so hard and I can’t wait to see what she does next.  It will be interesting to see how Liza takes this news; however, as the two of them make a pretty awesome duo.

1

“You wrote a letter to the wrong guy.”

Liza decides to write Josh a Dear John letter and surprisingly, she doesn’t hesitate too long to actually send it.  Josh is beyond heartbroken when he receives the letter and he confronts Liza later on in the night, asking her why she is doing this.  Josh thinks that Liza is scared of what they were and what they still are, desperately trying to get her to admit her true feelings.  Liza tells Josh that they were a moment in time, but Josh doesn’t accept this and says, “Say you love him more than you love me.”

Liza reveals to Josh that she does love Charles more, but Josh reminds her that he knows her and he knows when she is lying, explaining that she wrote a letter to the wrong guy.  Liza is clearly stunned and thrown by this and starts to contemplate everything when she gets home.

Is Charles simply the safe and age appropriate choice or are her feelings truly real for him?  Team Charles vs. Team Josh has certainly emerged once again, but what will Liza decide? What side are YOU on?  Stay tuned for the season finale next week!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 6 episode 6: “I Think We’ll Be Stronger Together”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 6 episode 6, I realized that home is where the heart is and in this case, home is where your publishing family is.  Sometimes all we need is a little compromise in order for everyone to be happy.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Merger, She Wrote,” Liza and Charles are invited to a mind altering retreat and bump into an unexpected guest.  Meanwhile, Kelsey and Zane talk things out, Diana shows off a hidden talent, and Maggie tries to get her mojo back.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 6 episode 6 are:

5

“I wish there was a way we could work together…”

In this episode, Liza approaches Charles about a potential “big bang boom merger,” hoping that there is some way for everyone to get along and work together.  It seems like a good idea since Charles essentially gets the profit from both publishing houses, but Charles initially proposes that Liza come work for him at Mercury instead.  Liza does not think that she can do that to Kelsey, explaining that their working relationship is also a friendship.  It’s clear that Liza does not want to hurt anyone’s feelings here, but is there another solution?

4

“The problem is you didn’t audition.”

The romance author Millennial snagged is auditioning voice actresses for her new book, but no one seems to really get the role right.  That is, until Diana starts reading from the book and everyone realizes that she is absolutely perfect for this.  Diana seems hesitant at first, but starts to really try out her husky voice to enhance the experience and I think she may have found her true calling!

3

“And where does that leave us?”

During the voice recording, Zane walks in with Audrey Colbert, ready to dazzle Kelsey.  Only Audrey’s reading leaves a lot to be desired.  Zane thinks that perhaps she just needs to warm up and suggests trying it again with more feeling, which prompts Audrey to provide us with an over-the-top extremely emotional reading, which is laugh out loud funny.  Perhaps Kelsey dodged a bullet with this one after all and we get to witness an adorable moment between Kelsey and Zane afterwards, as they share a drink together and discuss their potential future.  I’m still shipping these two together, but it looks like they have more obstacles headed their way soon.

2

“You have to experience microdosing first hand.”

Liza and Charles both get invited to an interesting retreat by a potential new author and get an unexpected surprise when they discover that Josh is there as well.  Liza’s dose has some interesting effects, as she starts to see Charles and Josh practically morphing into one another, leading to a show stopping dance number with…a plant.  Perhaps microdosing is not for Liza after all, but it does lead to some interesting questions.  Is Liza truly over Josh?  It seems like this love triangle hasn’t vanished completely just yet, but the Charliza fan in me is still on Team Charles.

1

“I want to come home.”

It seems like the retreat also gets Charles thinking, but in a different way, as he starts to truly contemplate the importance of family.  Charles asks Kelsey to buy Mercury…for one dollar.  He wants to return as an editor and also work with Liza with their relationship out in the open.  Everyone seems to be on board and I’m glad our favorite publishing family is back together, but where will this leave Zane?  Can he truly handle having Kelsey as his boss?  We’ll have to see how this plays out, but I’m not certain that the drama is over just yet.  Also, congratulations to Younger for being renewed for season 7!  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “SMILF” season 2 episode 9: “The Cowboy Code”

Greetings TV viewers!  After watching Showtime’s SMILF season 2 episode 9, I entered a fantasy world that seemed like it was from the past, but we quickly learned that many of the “cowboys” were women and that the men were wearing make-up and crying in churches, allowing Bridgette and her friends the chance to make things right and set an example.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In tonight’s episode, “Single Mom Is Losing Faith,” Bridgette’s fun fantasy becomes a reality…or at least for the entire episode, as we enter an old cowboy movie premise, but quickly learn that women are leading the way, trying to make a difference in the west.  My top 5 moments from the SMILF season 2 episode 9 are:

5

“I know you!”

“You’re SMILF!”  Well sure, Bridgette Bird may be known as “SMILF” in these parts, but she quickly corrects the man she encounters when she tells him that it stands for “Single Mom Is Losing Faith.”  Throughout the series, we have gotten some fun glimpses into Bridgette’s fantasy world, but this one looks like it will last for the entire episode, which was fun for sure.  It looks like Bridgette is a bad-ass in this world and everyone better think twice about crossing her.

4

“Those are fightin words!”

As the episode continues, we learn that Nelson is the sheriff in town and has been laying down the law and also imposing some “cowboy taxes” on Bridgette.  The tension between these two is still apparent in this fantasy world, as Bridgette says, “You’re used to my sloppy seconds, aren’t you?”  Bridgette is trying to save up money to send Larry to the city school…or pre-school, so she needs to save every penny, but Sheriff Nelson is not making things easy for her.  Later on, the clash between these two continues, as Bridgette faces off against Nelson, only to get shot in the foot.  Whoops!  While this was a fun way to continue the love triangle issue going on, we only have one more episode so I’m not sure if we will find out who Rafi will wind up with.  Let’s hope so!

3

“Shame to waste that pretty voice on an empty audience.”

Bridgette goes off to find Rafi and discovers him singing and crying in a church while dressed up with make-up.  Bridgette hilariously bosses Rafi around and tells him not to cry because it will “ruin your pretty face.”  Once Bridgette finds out that Mr. Daddy is collecting too much interest on Rafi’s debt, she decides to take matters into her own hands.

2

“I used to be the fastest gun in the west.”

Apparently Ally also used to be the “humblest person in the west” as well, which is absolutely hilarious.  Ally makes a special guest appearance, but she really is the same old Ally, going on and on about her Mr. Daddy issues and passing judgment everywhere she goes.  Ally always brings some laughs to the table so it was really fun to have her in this episode.

1

“Time’s up!”

Later on, when Bridgette is playing cards, Larry decides to give up, but Bridgette reminds him that they need to stick by the “cowboy code.”  Bridgette explains that they don’t give up in this family and has a moment of clarity and inspiration.  She says, “I’m a bird…you’re a bird.  No cage ensnares us!”  Bridgette decides to take the fight to Mr. Daddy, as our favorite female characters line up for a gun fight.  Mr. Daddy is played by the wonderful, Clark Gregg, and brings us some laughs as well.  Aunt Jackie opens fire to break the tension and somehow doesn’t know how this happens, but Bridgette and the others still save the day in the nick of time thanks to Ally’s impressive shooting.  Only one episode left!  Stay tuned for more SMILF fun!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and comments on SMILF below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Purge” season 1 episode 8: “I Can’t Do This Anymore”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching the USA network’s The Purge season 1 episode 8 last night, we didn’t get our words of wisdom from the voice over, but Mr. Stanton did remind us that “true joy comes from courage” and that “some things you can only learn from experience.”  While he may have an actual point here, I’m not sure that he is setting his daughter, Lila, out on the right path.  This is the episode we have been waiting for.  Hang on because a lot has happened.  Are you all caught up?  Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “The Giving Time Is Here,” Miguel and Penelope make it to Pete’s bar, but the threat is nowhere near over for these two.  Meanwhile, Jenna continues to struggle with her decision and Lila doesn’t handle any kind of rejection too well, causing her and Rick to clash even further.  My top 5 moments from The Purge season 1 episode 8 are:

5

“Don’t start shit in my bar.”

During the episode, Miguel and Penelope make it safely to Pete’s bar and breathe a temporary sigh of relief.  Penelope’s cult robe begins to “attract the wrong kind of attention” and Pete gives her some clothes to change into.  Pete later reveals to Penelope that he is not a fan of her cult and fills her in on quite a lot.  Penelope learns that her cult leader, Tavis, is actually funded by the NFFA and is playing a part, finding victims that the NFFA has determined to be disposable.  She goes to rehab centers and prisons, looking for people who have given up hope.  Penelope initially cannot believe what she is hearing, but decides that she needs to do the right thing and warn her friends on the bus before it’s too late.  But perhaps she should take Miguel with her for some much needed backup.  I mean does she really think it’s a smart idea to rush off by herself on Purge Night after all Miguel has gone through to find her?

4

“To a lifetime of glorious participation.”

During the episode, we finally get a flashback into Lila’s past.  Lila looks absolutely stunning in a gorgeous white gown and it initially seems like she is getting ready for her wedding day.  Only we quickly realize that she is preparing for her first ceremonial purge, which takes place on the eve of her 18th birthday.  Catalina has been by Lila’s side this whole time and it’s clear that Lila is having mixed thoughts about going through with this.  She is told to “choose her path,” or her weapon of choice in this case, and goes with a gun.  Lila nervously faces the sacrifice, an old man, but realizes that she cannot disappoint her parents and everyone watching.  Lila goes through with the purge and as soon as she does, she actually smiles, suggesting that she likes the thrill of the kill.  Watch out Rick!

3

“I saw the night for what it really is.”

Penelope reaches the bus and calls out Tavis in front of everyone.  Tavis tries to tell Penelope that she got lost on her way to the invisible, but Penelope is done hearing her lies.  Penelope is no longer a scared and impressionable victim.  She has finally found her inner strength and is ready to risk her life to protect her friends on the bus.  Penelope even punches Tavis, proving that she means business.  I guess Miguel taught her a thing or two, but she is still completely outnumbered here.  Either way, this is a very important moment for Penelope, but let’s hope she gets the chance to get that pancake breakfast she keeps talking about.

2

“So what’ll it take to make you go away?”

Drama continues to take place at Rick and Jenna’s home, but Jenna cannot “live in chaos” anymore.  She is clear with Lila and tells her that she can’t do this anymore.  She reveals that Lila did spark something within her, but that she is tired of the games and she cannot go on like this.  Lila tries to convince Jenna that Rick is manipulating her, but Jenna stands firm and says, “We’re done.”  Lila clearly doesn’t handle rejection well, as she approaches Rick and tries to buy him off.  I mean Lila I’ll take that 20 million dollars you are ready to hand over.  Rick claims, “I’m not for sale” and reminds Lila that he built his life from nothing and can do it again.  Rick gets violent with Lila for a moment when she continues to push his buttons, but he walks away from her.  Later on, Lila attacks Rick and points a gun at him.  She begs Jenna to tell her that she’s not crazy because she doesn’t know what is real anymore and says, “I know you love me.”  Jenna admits to loving her, but stabs Lila with her own ritual knife before she can kill Rick.  Team Rick is victorious after all.  I’m so sorry Jelinna fans, but it looks like Jenna has finally made her choice.  The immediate threat is over and Lila appears to be dead, but will Jenna be able to cope with her actions in the morning?

“It’s a little personal tonight.  I’m doing my own thing.”

While Miguel and Penelope are at Pete’s bar, in walks vigilante Joe.  After saving Jane last week, Joe is now crossing paths with two more characters.  Joe has a conversation with Miguel and thanks him for his service.  He later follows Penelope to the bus and saves her, but doesn’t allow Penelope to go back to the bar, which seems off.  Penelope is placed in the back of Joe’s truck, as poor Miguel is just a little bit too late to arrive.  Seriously this guy cannot catch a break and I really wish his sister would just listen to him for once.  Penelope is placed in the back with Jane and a few others, tied up and gagged.  Before I can even process what this means, Joe shows up at Rick and Jenna’s home and somehow disarms their advanced security system and drags them out of the house as well.  It looks like vigilante Joe is not the clear cut good guy after all, but what does this mean for our main characters?  After watching the preview for next week, it looks like Joe wants to put them on some kind of twisted trial for their actions on Purge Night.  It looks like he has only taken those who have something to make up for, which explains why he didn’t take Miguel.  But what made him target these characters specifically and how did he know where to find them?  We’ll have to wait until next week for more answers, but I am anxiously waiting to find out what happens next.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on The Purge below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

When Kallie Bennett, a jaded teenage girl plagued by her alcoholic mother and her peers molded out of sheer bubble gum perfection, chases after Alice in Wonderland herself, she ends up lost in her own version of Wonderland, which forces her to face her utmost fears and introduces her to familiar characters with a dark twist. Among these characters is Ches, a gorgeous vampire with a conflicted conscience, who becomes Kallie’s guide and blossoming love interest. She also crosses paths with Queen Hartley, a manipulative witch who has the power to strip away one’s memories and imagination, which brings a bone chilling new meaning to “off with their heads.” In The Search for Alice, Kallie starts to realize that her Wonderland is just as frightening as her own reality and that she cannot always run away from her problems. She must figure out a way to defeat Queen Hartley and return home before it is too late, but she soon learns that escaping Wonderland means leaving Ches behind forever.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 5 episode 8: “Can We Stay In Our Bubble Just For Tonight?”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 5 episode 8 last night, I found myself thinking of Liza’s advice when she says, “The good things only happen when we risk letting the bad stuff happen too.”  We may want to keep our guard up or make decisions with our head rather than our heart, but sometimes we can miss out on something truly great if we do so.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “The Bubble,” Liza and Charles finally get a chance to explore their feelings for one another.  Meanwhile, Kelsey tries to make the right decision, Lauren has a dinner party, and Diana struggles with keeping up with her cleanse.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 5 episode 8 are:

5

“I need to press pause.”

Kelsey has clearly been stressed out in her personal and professional life and it doesn’t help that she has been stuck in the middle of a love triangle between her author and her co-worker.  Kelsey finally makes the decision to choose herself, or at least a time out, when she tells Jake that she wants to cool things at least until after the book comes out.  Kelsey is just being honest and tries to explain that she has made this mistake before and it seems like Jake is willing to accept this.  However, Jake demonstrates his sneaky side once again and goes behind Kelsey’s back to approach Charles and suggest that his book be published by Empirical Press rather than Millennial.  Jake’s actions prove that he is absolutely not the right match for Kelsey, but will the shadiness stop here?  Something tells me it’s only the beginning.  Watch out Kelsey!

4

“We all have issues.”

Lauren is excited to host a dinner party for her friends and plans on inviting a woman she recently met that she is very much interested in.  Josh and Maggie show up and Maggie hilariously brings some food even though Lauren is cooking and reminds her, “You want to impress this girl right?”  When the doorbell finally rings, Maggie is beyond shocked to learn that Lauren’s date is her ex-girlfriend, Malkie.  Lauren’s cooking is not the only thing stirring in the pot, as the drama and tension between these two escalates.  Malkie and Maggie clearly have unresolved feelings for one another, but Maggie leaves before they can completely rehash everything.  After speaking to Liza, Maggie realizes that maybe she does need to let her wall down and give Malkie a chance.  With the help of Josh, she paints a beautiful mural with Malkie’s portrait to surprise her and it looks like they are both ready to give their relationship another go and put in some work.

3

“This one is hers.”

In the beginning of the episode, Zane is still angry with Kelsey after being taken off of Jake’s book.  Kelsey tries to talk it out with him, but Zane harshly tells her, “You screwed me and then you screwed me over.”  Later on in the episode, Charles approaches Zane about shifting Jake’s book over to Empirical and Zane proves to be a knight in shining armor.  He could easily take the credit here and grab this opportunity, but he tells Charles that Kelsey worked very hard on the book and Charles agrees to keep it at Millennial.  Zane may be hurt and frustrated by Kelsey’s actions, but he refuses to stoop to the underhanded level that Jake has, proving once again to a good and honest man.  Now let’s hope our girl Kelsey can realize this too.  Men like Zane are hard to come by and I would hate to see these two miss out on an opportunity to be together.

2

“She might want revenge.”

Liza and Diana are meeting with Reese Witherspoon’s representative to discuss “Marriage Vacation,” and Liza is shocked when Pauline arrives.  Pauline clearly knows what is happening between Liza and Charles, as she starts coming up with different premises for her sequel, suggesting that perhaps a younger assistant steals her husband.  Liza panics and plays along when she says, “Maybe the assistant was actually trying to help,” but Pauline is not buying it and starts talking about revenge ideas.  While it is great to see Liza and Charles finally together, there are still many outside forces that can bring consequences.  Are they finally ready to face them together?

1

“Can we stay in our bubble just for tonight?”

The beginning of the episode opens up with us seeing bits and pieces of Liza and Charles’s night together which is very sexy and passionate.  Charles leaves for ten days and when he returns, he is sporting a new beard.  While Liza is not necessarily a fan of the beard, she is so excited to see Charles and the two continue their secret relationship by meeting up in the stairwell and sending texts to one another.  When Charles invites Liza out, he takes her to Battery Park to a sea glass carousel and I was absolutely swooning over this date.  All of this talk about staying in a bubble and Charles literally takes her to their very own bubble away from the rest of the world.  After Liza tells Charles about Pauline, he explains that he has already taken care of it and agrees to let her take her sequel to another publishing company.  It’s clear that Charles’s main priority is Liza, but he does recognize that the challenges are going to keep coming their way.  While we know that they cannot stay hidden in their bubble forever, I have to say that it was so wonderful to finally see these two enjoy some quality time together.  But what happens when they step out of the bubble and face reality?  Something tells me that as long as they stick together, they can make it through any obstacle thrown their way.  That doesn’t mean it will be smooth sailing; however, as we know these two are in for a bumpy ride.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 5 episode 7: “I Don’t Care Anymore”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 5 episode 7 last night, I was pleased to learn that many families have quirky holiday traditions.  I mean not everyone gets up in front of a party to yodel to a song from “The Sound of Music,” especially when your boss walks in to get a glimpse of the show, but it’s all in good fun.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “A Christmas Miracle,” Liza tries to make her daughter’s holiday a special one and is willing to tough out a night with her ex-husband to do so, only an unexpected guest shakes things up quite a bit.  Meanwhile, Diana continues to be surprised by Enzo, Maggie refuses to compromise herself, and Kelsey continues to struggle with balancing her feelings for Jake and Zane.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 5 episode 7 are:

5

“It’s so full.  It’s so many pine needles.”

Diana and Enzo’s relationship is continuing to blossom and Enzo decides to show up at her doorstep with a large Christmas tree.  Diana is not too sure that it will really go with her decor and seems worried about the impact it may have on her carpet, but Enzo proves he can deal with Diana’s antics and then some.  He sets up the tree for her and lights it up and even gets her to change her tune a little bit, which shows how much these two truly care for each other.  Enzo is really making Diana happy and she is willing to break out of her comfort zone for him, which may be just what she really needs.

4

“I didn’t make all this work for it to be buried in the artistic sunken place.”

Maggie is beyond excited that all of her artwork has been purchased by a wealthy couple and they continue to spoil her with gifts and attention.  While it seems harmless at first, Maggie quickly realizes that the bracelets she received are basically like “golden handcuffs,” and that she will be required to go on vacations with them and fit into their lifestyle whenever they want.  While Maggie appreciates the money and the opportunity, she is not about to stifle her artistic persona in order to fit into some kind of cookie cutter mold of forgotten artists and she tells the couple exactly what she thinks to their shock and disappointment.  Maggie never ceases to amaze me, as she refuses to compromise herself in any situation.

3

“Can I have one secret?”

In this episode, Kelsey continues to struggle with seeing both Jake and Zane.  Things get beyond complicated when they show up at the office party and Zane kisses Kelsey in front of people.  Jake notices this from afar and takes this opportunity to approach Charles and request that only Kelsey work on his book from now on.  Zane is beyond upset, but realizes that he should have seen this coming, seeing right through Jake’s act.  He says, “The author gets what the author wants,” and is really hitting closer to home with this statement than he realizes.  It seems like Jake is willing to play dirty to get Kelsey all to himself, but is this really the right person for her?  Zane’s feelings for Kelsey are real and passionate and I would hate to see him hurt when he finds out the truth about Kelsey and Jake.  Will she make the right decision before it is too late?

2

“Don’t give up on her.”

Caitlin and Maggie are shocked when Josh stops by before leaving to see his family and gives Liza a holiday gift.  She also gives him one as well and it’s clear that the “just friends” vibe is crossing a line.  Caitlin tries to tell her mother that Josh still loves her, but she dismisses it.  Later in the episode, Caitlin bumps into Josh and tells him, “You’re the best thing to happen to her in a long time…don’t give up on her.”  This causes Josh to stop and think for a moment and it seems like Caitlin may have lit a spark that might not be ready to burn again, especially when we know that Charles is waiting in the wings.  Will this conversation further complicate things between Liza and Josh?

1

“I don’t care anymore.”

After Caitlin begs Liza to perform to “The Sound of Music” in front of the holiday party, Liza eventually gives in to make her daughter happy, but is shocked when Charles walks through the door.  Charles is told that Liza is the woman that the hosts wanted to set him up with to make things even more awkward.  Charles plays along and pretends that this is the first time he is meeting Liza and is delighted to also meet her daughter, now learning that everything Liza did was for her.  When asked what he thinks of Liza, he comments, “She is definitely interesting.”  Sparks continue to fly between these two at the office and Liza is shocked when she gets a very large Christmas bonus from Charles.  After she goes to confront him about it, she discovers that he has already left, but Charles has a change of heart when he sees a promotion for “The Sound of Music” in the taxi.  I have to admit that when Liza returned home and found Charles standing on her doorstep, I was squealing with joy.  Charles simply tells her, “I don’t care anymore” and the two begin kissing.  The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here and it seems like Team Charles is finally getting the chance it deserves.  Now that is a “Christmas Miracle!”  Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 5 episode 6: “I Didn’t Run Away”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching TV Land’s Younger season 5 episode 6 last night, I was reminded that trust is not an easy thing to earn back.  Even though we may give someone time or space, it’s difficult to promise that we will never break that trust again, leaving us swirling around in a whirlwind of uncertainty, wondering if we can ever make things right.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.  In last night’s episode, “Sex, Liza, and Rock & Roll,” Liza is excited to meet rock star, Chrissie Hart, who proves to be beyond eccentric and extremely hilarious.  Meanwhile, Diana prepares for a sleepover at Enzo’s house and Kelsey has trouble deciding what or who she really wants.  My top 5 moments from Younger season 5 episode 6 are:

5

“It’s real and you deserve it.”

Maggie is beyond excited that her art is selected to be featured at the Whitney and she mingles at her party and meets some interested buyers, which proves that dreams really can come true.  Josh tells her, “you have officially arrived,” and I have to say that it is about time.  Maggie is so talented and her work is unique and expressive, just like her character, which makes this moment truly amazing for her.  I have to also admit that I loved the first real meeting between her and Diana, as we know that Maggie refuses to let anyone step on her.  Remember the Montana incident?  Either way, it’s great to see Maggie finally getting the attention that she deserves.

4

“I hope you’re not here to cock block me.”

Rockstar, Chrissie Hart, is writing a book for Empirical Press and requests that Charles come to pick it up personally at her home in Shelter Island.  Only Charles gets way more than he bargained for when Chrissie gives him the grand tour, which leads up to a box that supposedly contains a “ten thousand dollar dildo.”  Charles is hilarious when he shuts the box before he is scarred for life and reminds Chrissie again to provide him with the book.  When Liza shows up to help out, Charles is relieved to see her, but Chrissie reminds her that she better not cock block her because she plans on “banging his brains out.”  Charles begs Liza not to leave him alone with her, which adds to the comedy, but is Charles finally ready to let Liza back into his life and possibly his heart?

3

“I am a grape.  A very very juicy grape.”

In the beginning of the episode, we learn that Diana is preparing for a sleepover night at Enzo’s place in Staten Island and she is beyond nervous.  When Liza notices everything she has packed, she asks her, “Are you staying over or redecorating?”  Diana hilariously explains that, “I need to prepare for polyester,” but is in for a nice surprise when she walks into Enzo’s home and discovers that it is neat, clean, and well decorated.  In the morning, she is introduced to Enzo’s mother and learns that he still lives with her.  Enzo’s mother begins complaining in Italian that Diana is too old and that he brought her a raisin instead of a grape, but Diana shocks them both when she replies in Italian, “I am a grape.  A very very juicy grape,” proving that there is no one in the world who can take down Diana.  Enzo’s mother is beyond pleased that she speaks Italian and Diana reminds her that her age is none of her business.  Once again, it looks like the relationship between Diana and Enzo is proving to be a delightful surprise and Diana deserves every second of happiness.

2

“So someone like you?”

Kelsey continues to struggle with her feelings for both Jake and Zane and it only gets worse in this episode.  Zane is frustrated by Jake’s chapters and demands that Kelsey get him on the phone so that they can discuss it.  While Jake doesn’t like Zane’s “tone,” Zane harshly reminds him that he doesn’t like his chapter, which makes this rivalry a dangerous one, since it mixes both business and pleasure.  After Kelsey thinks she has it all figured out with Jake, Zane throws her a curve ball and tells her what she wants.  He says that she wants someone who can challenge her, but also make her happy.  Kelsey stops thinking with her head and begins kissing Zane passionately.  When she returns home the next morning, she tells Lauren and Josh what happened and Lauren tells her to have them both when she asks who she should choose.  While we still don’t know what Kelsey will ultimately decide, it’s only a matter of time before Jake and Zane find out about each other, but will this damage the book deal?  Will Kelsey make the right decision?  While Jake is a nice enough guy, as Zane pointed out, “Nice is code for dull,” and there is nothing dull about our girl Kelsey.

1

“I didn’t run away.”

After Liza and Charles are able to escape the antics of Chrissie Hart when she passes out, Liza corners Charles and asks him, “When are you going to trust me again?”  The silence is too much for her to handle and she desperately wants to talk things through with him.  However, Charles is still not able to open up to Liza about how he is feeling and says goodnight to her.  Even though there is only a door between them, you can feel the tension brewing, wanting nothing more than to come screaming to the surface, but Charles is still not ready to put his emotions and heart on the line.  Liza is disappointed to learn that Charles leaves in the morning and she speaks to Chrissie and tells her what an inspiration she was to her and how much she helped her after her marriage fell apart and that she can continue to help others and delivers the manuscript to Charles.  When Charles asks Liza how she was able to get this, she reminds him that she didn’t run away, putting the ball back into his court.  Will Charles wait too long to let Liza know how he truly feels?  We know that Josh is waiting in the wings and it’s only a matter of time before Liza closes the door on her feelings for Charles for good.  Will Charles and Liza finally get a chance to explore a real relationship?  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Younger below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
