Spoiler-Free Review of “Clarice” on CBS: The Silence is Over…kinda

*This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!*

“To be a survivor, you have to be a victim…”

Clarice premiered on CBS on February 11th 2021. Episodes will air weekly and are also available to stream on CBS All Access. The series stars Rebecca Breeds, Michael Cudlitz, Nick Sandow, and Kal Penn. Each episode runs for approximately 52 minutes.

The series takes place one year after the events that occurred in the iconic film, The Silence of the Lambs. We follow the untold story of Clarice, as she tries to piece her life back together again while taking on some new disturbing cases.

Here is the trailer:

Clarice has the potential to bring us back into this world while telling a unique story. However, it is difficult to find the perfect balance between the films and a new show. Hannibal was very effective at doing this, but can Clarice accomplish the same? Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Clarice Spoiler Free Review 1

Rebecca Breeds is fantastic as Clarice.

It’s not easy stepping into a role like this and Rebecca Breeds certainly has some big shoes to fill. I was already a fan of hers and remember her from Pretty Little Liars and The Originals. I think that she is doing enough to honor the original performance while branching out and creating a more layered identity.

There are a lot of familiar faces in this cast. We have TWD’s Michael Cudlitz, Orange Is the New Black’s Nick Sandow, and Houses’s Kal Penn, which should give us a good character dynamic.

Good balance between past and present events.

The flashbacks bring us back to the film, but they don’t overwhelm the show. It looks like we will be following a weekly case formula, which could be very effective with a show like this. I thought that the new mystery was disturbing enough and Clarice stepped into her new assignment well.

The Cons:

Clarice Spoiler Free Review 2

Nothing truly unique going on here.

While I thought that the pacing worked well for the opening episode, this show can quickly become stale and forgettable. The problem with it airing on a network like this, is that it becomes lost in the shuffle of every other crime show. I have seen plenty of television series premieres based on films and eventually, they run out of steam.

I think that Clarice has to pick up the pace and do something really different to keep us invested or it could find its way on the cancellation chopping block…

So am I in or out?

Clarice Spoiler Free Review 3

I’m in about 75 percent…

This show was really not bad at all. I think that some critics are being a little hard on it. The pacing worked and I thought that the moody flashbacks were necessary to remind us about the actual premise of this show.

I really want to like this show because I like Rebecca Breeds and I think it has the potential to do well, but it needs to step away from the crime drama formula and give us a lot more. I’m invested for now, but that could quickly change if nothing too drastic happens. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we will get there!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Clarice in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Part 3 on Netflix: Spellbinding Perfection

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

“Here’s to Sabrina Spellman!  Cheerleader by day, Queen of Hell by Night!”

Hell looks good on our girl Sabrina Spellman, played brilliantly again by Kiernan Shipka.

In the midst of all of the dark and twisted spell-casting, there is still room for some fun bubble gum pop moments featuring cheerleading, Riverdale Easter Eggs, and romance.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3 premiered on Netflix on January 24th 2020 with 8 new episodes (55-60 minutes in length).  It stars Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo, Ross Lynch, and Michelle Gomez.

Part 3 starts off with a bang, as Sabrina is desperate to find a way into Hell to free her boyfriend, Nick.  With the help of her mortal friends, Sabrina crosses paths with some new foes along the way.  Sabrina is destined for the crown, but is quickly challenged again and again.

Her loyalties are tested, but where does her heart truly lie?

Parts 1 and 2 were absolutely fantastic, but can Part 3 measure up?  Let’s find out…

The Pros:

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Netflix 3
Images courtesy of Netflix

We dive deeper into a magical world filled with history, wickedness, and mystery.

The show seamlessly submerges us into a world with dark magic wedged into every nook and cranny of history.  We learn about Dante’s Inferno, vampires, banshees, voodoo, Pagan gods, and more.  While it may initially seem like this is quite a lot to cram into 8 episodes, each adventure worked so well with the plot, luring us in that much more.

New and interesting characters.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Netflix 6
Images courtesy of Netflix

The show already has a large cast with amazing characters, but some of the new additions really added to the charm of the show.  But let’s not forget about Lilith aka Mary Wardwell, who continues to be a phenomenal scene stealer.

I also really appreciated the time spent toward developing some of the other characters, specifically Theo and Prudence.

Some of the new villains prove to be quite formidable, constantly putting our girl Sabrina Spellman to the test, which provides us with a lot of edge-of-your-seat moments and exciting twists.  More please!

Lots of fun.

Even though Sabrina is now the Queen of Hell, she still decides to try out for the cheerleading squad with Ros.  We get some fantastic musical numbers that gave me a 90’s nostalgia along with some crafty Riverdale Easter Eggs, which is known as the murder capital of the world.  Where’s vigilante Archie when you need him?

I thought that this poppy fun feel really balanced out the darker elements of the show, giving me a Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibe while still casting its way toward its own magical identity.

The Cons:

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Netflix 4
Images courtesy of Netflix

None.  Well, I guess if I need to pick something, it would be that I wanted more episodes.

Parts 1 and 2 featured 16 episodes split up into 8 at a time.  Parts 3 and 4 will follow the same format.  We will get the next 8 episodes on July 3rd 2020, which is a long time to wait to catch up with our favorite witches!

So am I in or out?

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Netflix 5
Images courtesy of Netflix

Of course I’m in…100 percent and more!  This show gets better and better.  Countdown until the next witching hour!

If you aren’t watching this show yet, I absolutely recommend it.  It is so much fun and the characters are bewitching…even without the magic.  Enjoy witches!

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3 in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 8: “You Didn’t Deserve That”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 8, we were reminded that one doesn’t always get what he or she deserves, but we need to keep fighting one day at a time even if we can’t always tip the scale back to make things truly right.

Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Our Father, Who Aren’t in Heaven,” Dean comes up with a plan to find Chuck’s weakness.  Meanwhile, Adam finally returns, the new Queen of Hell is revealed, and Eileen tries to work a case of her own.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 8 are:

5

“No, I’m saying he has a weak spot.”

Dean may be on to something here even if he doesn’t know what an Achilles heel is.  He thinks that they can use the Demon tablet to find out Chuck’s weakness, but they need someone who can read it.

Donatello makes another welcomed appearance, but things get tricky when Chuck begins to talk through him, reminding the Winchesters that Chuck/God is always watching.

4

“You could do worse.”

The will they-won’t they vibe continues between Sam and Eileen and Dean takes a moment to tell Sam that he can be happy with her.  Sure, they have both tried the family life before, claiming it wasn’t for them, but Eileen gets the hunter lifestyle and would be a welcomed addition.

Although this might be tricky now that Chuck/God has just lured Eileen and Sam into a parking lot alone.  What are Chuck’s plans for Eileen?  Will Sam lose Eileen again before he gets a chance to tell her how he feels?

I can’t wait to find out!

3

“Hello boys.”

After traveling to Hell to find Michael, the boys run into the new Queen of HellRowena.  They are clearly in shock to see Rowena again, but she feels right at home being dead and I have to say that she makes a pretty bad ass queen.

That being said, I sort of felt like Rowena’s re-appearance on the show took away from her sacrifice.  Rowena’s sacrifice really helped her character reach its peak and now she’s kind of right back where she started again.

And if we can see Rowena again, where the hell is Crowley?

2

“I will help you.”

After Castiel shows Michael the truth about Chuck/God, Michael agrees to help them.  He explains that there is a spell to weaken Chuck, but they need the nectar from the Leviathan blossom in order for the spell to work.

And of course, this nectar can only be found in Purgatory, so it looks like Dean and Castiel will be making a special trip back there.

This should give us some more cameos and adventures along the way.  Next stop, Purgatory!

1

“You didn’t deserve that.”

Adam finally makes his return on the show and Dean and Sam learn that Michael does allow him to have control here and there.  I guess being locked away in a cage for so many years can get really lonely.  Sam and Dean apologize to Adam and tell him that they were wrong and he didn’t deserve that, but I’m not sure one can truly accept an apology for being banished to rot away in Hell.  Family…you gotta love them.

Either way, I was glad to see Adam back on the show because I often used to feel like the writers just sort of abandoned his story completely and moved on, so I thought this was an important connection for the final season.

Overall, the episode felt slightly transitional and I am more interested in Chuck/God’s deadly adventures at a casino, but it looks like Sam will be getting up close and personal with him when new episodes return on January 17th.

Stay tuned SPN family!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Supernatural in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Spoiler-Free Review of “Light as a Feather” Season 2 Part 2 on Hulu: “The Skin Crawling moments are Back with a Vengeance!”

**This is a spoiler-free review so feel free to read on!**

Light as a feather, stiff as a board.

Light as a feather, stiff as a board.

She’s dying.

She’s dying.

She’s dead.

She’s dead…

Your favorite deadly slumber party game is back!  After airing the first 8 episodes of season 2 back in July 2019, Hulu has released part 2 of the season as of October 4th 2019.  Episodes 9-16 are all currently available to stream.

The show stars Liana Liberato, Haley Ramm, Brianne Tju, and Jordan Rodrigues and follows a group of friends who play a deadly game of Light as a Feather, which predicts exactly how they will die, targeting them one by one.  After a slightly disappointing start to season 2, I was worried about the second half of the season.  Did it live up to the bone-chilling moments in season 1 or did it fizzle out for good?  Let’s find out!

The Pros:

Light as a Feather Hulu October 2019 1
Images courtesy of Hulu

The performances of Haley Ramm (Violet), Liana Liberato (McKenna), and Brianne Tju (Alex).

Again, I have to give it up to this trio.  Some of the characters on this show seem filler, but these three ladies held my attention the entire time.  I love that they all didn’t start out as friends and their bond becomes stronger when they are all linked together by this curse, but the dynamic between them is fantastic and they really elevate the show.

The skin crawling moments are back!

Season 1 gave me some nightmares for sure, as some moments were genuinely shocking and hard to watch.  These moments really gave a show that is mostly dipped in bubble gum pop horror a chance to be a little bit darker and I was disappointed when this fizzled out in the first half of season 2.  However, the second half of the season delivered with this, giving us several moments that will really make you cringe and then some!

Satisfying twists.

We all know the game and I knew it would be hard to keep the show fresh and interesting, but I thought the second half of season 2 did a good job of keeping us on our toes.  The twists worked for the most part and they kept me guessing up until the end.

The Cons:

Light as a Feather Hulu October 2019 2
Images courtesy of Hulu

Channeling too much Lifetime…

So, this show has had a lot of teenage drama since the start and that’s not necessarily a bad thing if you are used to shows like Pretty Little Liars and Riverdale.  I didn’t even really mind the will-they-won’t-they love triangle and I appreciated the LGBTQ relationship, but there were some moments that just felt like a failed attempt to throw in some fatal attraction psycho components, which weren’t really needed in my opinion.

Some really obvious moments.

I don’t know what it was, but there were just some moments that had that hit you over the head feel that undermined the show slightly.  For example, (hey, here’s a bottle of pills…he must have taken these).  I don’t expect everything to be a major twist, but I do want it to be believable as well.  This didn’t happen all the time, but I did notice it more than I did in the first season.

So am I in or out?

Light as a Feather Hulu October 2019 3
Images courtesy of Hulu

I’m back in!  Even though I had some issues with the season overall, I still enjoyed the watch.  The short episodes really helped move the binge-watching along and it’s just one of those shows that you can really enjoy especially around Halloween, so I have to give it up to Hulu for perfect timing.

Overall, I think this series is a lot of fun and it really gives you a lot of nostalgia for 90’s movies like The Craft and I Know What You Did Last Summer.  Sure, there is a lot of teenage drama mixed in, but the skin crawling moments really helped push this one over to the darker side for me. There is no word yet on a season 3, but I’m not sure that we necessarily need one, although there is always something left open at the end…

Enjoy the watch and perhaps you may want to re-consider any slumber party games in the future…

I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Light as a Feather in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

It’s time to silence the Whisperers once and for all, but what threats will emerge next?  As we approach season 10, we know that this will be Michonne’s last season, but what does that mean for her character?  I can’t wait to find out!

Nancy Drew (New Series)

Premiere date: Wednesday, October 9th 2019

Where to watch: The CW

It looks like I will be busy on Wednesday nights indefinitely!  Nancy Drew is one of my favorite book series of all time and this new series looks like a dark and grown up version, giving me some Riverdale and Pretty Little Liars feels right off the bat.  I’m in 100 percent!

Supernatural (Season 15) *Final Season*

Premiere date: Thursday, October 10th 2019

Where to watch: The CW

How will it all end for the Winchesters?  After that cliffhanger ending in season 14, it looks like our favorite hunters have a lot of work to do, but luckily they have some backup in our favorite angel, Castiel.  What can we expect for the final season?  I’m not sure, but I would love to see some fun nostalgia sprinkled in with some returning guest stars.  It will be beyond difficult to say goodbye, but I know that the series will end the way it is intended to and I’m looking forward to watching these final adventures with Sam and Dean.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

Premiere date: Friday, October 11th 2019

Where to watch: Netflix (to be released at a later date on AMC)

So I initially didn’t think to put this on the list since it is technically a movie, but how can I leave out one of my favorite series of all time?!  Jesse Pinkman is back and Breaking Bad fans everywhere can rejoice, as we finally get to find out what happens next in the story!

The Purge (Season 2)

Premiere date: Tuesday, October 15th 2019

Where to watch: USA Network

What happens on Purge Night doesn’t necessarily stay on Purge Night.  I love The Purge movies and when I first heard about the television series last year, I really didn’t go into it with high expectations.  Well I was in for a huge surprise, as this show became one of my favorite series of the year.  It’s fast paced, surprising, and a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see what happens in season 2 as we follow a brand new group of characters.  Are you ready, citizens?

Castle Rock (Season 2)

Premiere date: Wednesday, October 23rd 2019

Where to watch: Hulu

The Stephen King anthology series was another bone-chilling and haunting surprise for me last year and I have been waiting quite some time for a premiere date announcement for season 2.  Well it looks like we are in luck, as new episodes will return right before Halloween, which certainly seems fitting.  It looks like we will follow a new story and a new group of characters in the mysterious town of Castle Rock, but I am hoping to get some Easter eggs or connections to season one.  We shall see!

Shameless (Season 10)

Premiere date: Sunday, November 10th 2019

Where to watch: Showtime

We said goodbye to fan-favorite, Fiona Gallagher for good last season, but can season 10 keep the Gallaghers relevant?  Let’s hope so!  While I am disappointed that Fiona will no longer be on the show, it looks like we will need to turn our attention to Lip, especially now that he is going to be a father.  The laughs never fail on one of my favorite series of all time and I can’t wait to see what the Gallagher family does next!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” season 3 episode 17: “I Was Wondering When We’d Finally Meet”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching the CW’s Riverdale season 3 episode 17, Edgar Evernever reminded us that “memories are often painful, but they don’t have to be.  They can be a path to revival.”  But when one starts manipulating memories and playing on the weaknesses of others, toying with these memories can become extremely dangerous.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In last night’s episode, “Chapter Fifty-Two:  The Master,” Jughead continues to try and stop his mother and the drug trade in his town with the help of Archie and some friends.  Meanwhile, Veronica takes a page out of her father’s manipulation playbook and Betty recruits Cheryl to help her listen in on the Farm.  My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 3 episode 17 are:

5

“This ship has sailed.”

Hermione begins to panic when she realizes that she will lose Hiram’s protection if it is publicly known that they are getting a divorce.  Hermione explains to Veronica that being a mob boss’s wife is extremely dangerous, but Veronica does remind her mother that she did try to kill her husband…twice.  Veronica does not give up on her family and suggests therapy as an option, but Hiram tells her “this ship has sailed.”  Meanwhile, Hermione receives some dead fish, implying a threat on her life.  Veronica approaches her father for a compromise.  Hiram agrees and has their marriage annulled, but keeps Hermione in the public’s eye to keep her safe.  However, Hiram is no fool, as he recognizes that Veronica is the one who sent the fish to her mother.  Veronica explains that she had to protect her, but no one said it would be easy to outplay the master manipulator, Hiram Lodge.

4

“I need your help.”

During the episode, Archie gets a phone call from Mad Dog, who lets him know that he is in danger of being transferred over to Hiram’s new private prison.  Archie pulls out all the stops with Veronica’s help and approaches the Governor, asking for a pardon for his friends.  The plan works successfully, as the Governor is not looking to have his reputation threatened and Archie gives Mad Dog and the others a place to stay at the gym.  Whenever something is going right, Elio suddenly appears, however.  Elio offers the guys a chance to fight for money for him and Mad Dog ends up deciding to take his business offer at the end of the episode.  Archie warns his friend that he cannot trust Elio, but Mad Dog is determined to do whatever is necessary to help his family.  Let’s just hope that he doesn’t wind up in too much trouble.

3

“This is between me and you.”

Jughead continues to clash with his mother, Gladys, in this episode and he tells her, “Oh I’m not gonna stop until you are out of Riverdale.”  Gladys is up for the challenge and reminds Jughead not to cross her.  Seriously Jughead, look out for Mommie Dearest, who doesn’t play by the rules.  After Jughead tries to intervene more with the drug trade, he messes up his father’s drug bust, which angers FP, but Jughead is not ready to stop.  Jughead goes after a major drug operation with the help of Archie and Mad Dog, but ends up getting thrown out a window by that nut job, Kurtz.  Luckily, Jughead is all right, but is he in over his head?  I’m not sure, but we know that Gladys is not one to be messed with.  Will she really push her own son out of the way to further her business though?  We’ll have to see how this plays out.

2

“I’m in, cousin.”

After taking a tour of the Farm, Betty realizes that she will not get too far.  There are locked doors and Evelyn leading the interviews, which makes it difficult for Betty to get any real answers.  Betty recognizes that Evelyn has some kind of interest in Cheryl and asks for Cheryl’s help.  I love the tag team between Betty and Cheryl, as Cheryl goes undercover and puts her acting skills to the test.  Edgar meets with Cheryl and talks about how she has already been baptized and reborn in fire based on some of her past experiences, but he takes advantage of her love and grief over her brother, Jason.  Before long, Cheryl is done being Betty’s mole and even comments that Edgar is a “yummy snack,” which is absolutely hilarious, but it looks like Cheryl has just joined the Farm.  Can Betty help her before it’s too late?  Does Edgar have a special interest in Cheryl because of her connections?

1

“I was wondering when we’d finally meet.”

Betty recognizes that she is on her own and decides to break into the locked door with her trusty bobby pin while Cheryl is getting inducted into the Farm.  Betty finds the tapes from her family and takes them to try and get some information, but Cheryl is the one to reveal the biggest mystery of all.  Cheryl reveals to Betty that Edgar took her to a room and says that Jason was in the room with her.  She explains that she talked to him in the flesh and that the Farm somehow gave her back her brother.  Things start to add up for Betty, as she approaches her mother and realizes that Alice has been seeing her son, Charles, in this same way.  Edgar finally agrees to meet Betty and the showdown we have all been waiting for has just begun.  Betty is not afraid of Edgar; however, and is ready for the challenge.  Edgar asks her what she would like to know and Betty simply says, “Everything.”

It looks like we have a lot more to find out, but what is the rational explanation behind Cheryl and Alice seeing their dead relatives?  Is Edgar using mind control or is there something else going on here?  At the end of the episode, we also get a new quest card that reads, “Defang a Wolf cub.”  FP finds another sacrifice in the woods, which reminds us that the Gargoyle King is not finished at all.  What does this new quest mean and is there any real connection between the Gargoyle King and the Farm?  Also, Hiram’s new prison is now up and running so what does that mean for the town?  New episodes return April 17th Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on Riverdale below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Shameless” season 9 episode 8: “I’m A Fun Person!”

Happy Sunday TV fans!  After watching Showtime’s Shameless season 9 episode 8, the apple may not fall far from the Alibi, but it’s great to have the Gallaghers back with new episodes.  Will the Gallagher family be able to help Fiona recover from her downward spiral, however?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.  In tonight’s episode, “The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Alibi,” Debbie tries to pick up the pieces and pay for the bills while Fiona continues to hit rock bottom.  Meanwhile, Carl starts a new business venture with Kelly, Tami tries to convince Lip to get his own place, and Frank contemplates fatherhood…again.  My top 5 moments from Shameless season 9 episode 8 are:

5

“Is Jabby grumpy this morning?”

In this episode, we learn that Lip and Tami, played by Kate Miner, are still moving forward with their new relationship, only they are having a difficult time finding a space that is truly suitable for some quality time together.  Tami’s roommates are extremely intrusive and Lip’s living situation is an adventure in itself.  After hearing an unidentified scratching in Lip’s walls, I’m not really sure that Tami can adjust to the Gallagher lifestyle, but we’ll have to wait and see what’s next for these two.

4

“I love surprises.”

Well sure, Frank, surprises can be fun.  However, I’m not sure that even Frank was ready for his girlfriend, Ingrid, played by Katey Sagal, to announce that she is now ready to finally be a mother.  This doesn’t scare Frank off; however, as he is on board to fertilize Ingrid’s eggs and bring us a whole new “menswear line.”  Frank soon realizes that he is down to a lone swimmer; however, and decides to take Carl’s “sample” to ensure that they have the best possible chances.  And just when I thought that Frank couldn’t hit a new low.  Well, perhaps fatherhood will finally agree with him this time around.

3

“OK whatever the f*ck that is.”

It seems like love is in the air, as Carl continues to flourish in his new relationship with Kelly, played by Jess Gabor.  I have to admit that these two are absolutely adorable with their romance and they even work in their military training as well.  We know how much Carl loves new business ventures and he can’t help himself when he sees an opportunity in front of him with public scooters.  Carl and Kelly begin taking as many scooters as possible and “renting” them out to make some quick cash.  After a woman threatens to call the Better Business Bureau on Carl, he hilariously says, “OK whatever the f*ck that is.”

2

“No one’s playing soccer.”

During the episode, Kev and V are beyond excited to meet their new foster son, Santiago, or “KJ Ball.”  While Kev is hoping that Santiago is into baseball over soccer, they soon realize that their new son does not speak any English, but he does have a lovely singing voice and can sing “The Star Spangled Banner” quite well.  After Kev and V finally get someone to translate, they learn that Santiago has been separated from his family and realize that they need to help him reunite with them because it’s the right thing to do.  Although Santiago definitely “brought the heat” when it came to his curve ball.

1

“I’m a fun person!  I like to have fun!”

Well sure, Fiona, we know that you like to have fun, but I have to say that I am quite concerned about your recent behavior.  During the episode, Fiona continues on her downward spiral, as she hits even lower than rock bottom.  Fiona has been drinking way too much and even tries out her graffiti skills to make her point, but it doesn’t seem like she is keeping it together at all.  At work, she insults customers and focuses on the disgusting gum under the table, rather than deal with the disaster of her own situation, but I’m hoping that her family can intervene and help get her back on track.  Based on the previews for new episodes, it looks like Irish Ford will make another guest appearance, but is Fiona finally ready to face him?  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts on Shameless below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

When Kallie Bennett, a jaded teenage girl plagued by her alcoholic mother and her peers molded out of sheer bubble gum perfection, chases after Alice in Wonderland herself, she ends up lost in her own version of Wonderland, which forces her to face her utmost fears and introduces her to familiar characters with a dark twist. Among these characters is Ches, a gorgeous vampire with a conflicted conscience, who becomes Kallie’s guide and blossoming love interest. She also crosses paths with Queen Hartley, a manipulative witch who has the power to strip away one’s memories and imagination, which brings a bone chilling new meaning to “off with their heads.” In The Search for Alice, Kallie starts to realize that her Wonderland is just as frightening as her own reality and that she cannot always run away from her problems.
