Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Purge” season 2 episode 6: “Happy Holidays”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching the USA network’s The Purge season 2 episode 6 last night, we finally got to see the man behind the voice of The Bobby Sheridan Show, as he reminded us that “You’re nobody in America unless someone wants to Purge you.”  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “Happy Holidays,” Esme is on the run from the NFFA, which forces her to turn to an unlikely source for help.  Meanwhile, The Campus Killer is certainly making a name for himself, but things get tricky when he returns home for break, and Marcus and Michelle invite Sam over for a chat.

My top 5 moments from The Purge season 2 episode 6 are:

5

“Either my guys join or I turn you in.”

Ryan tries to keep things moving for the plan, but things are getting much more complicated now that his former captain has joined in.  The rest of the group does not trust her and rightfully so and it’s likely that she will turn the tables on Ryan and his group in the end.

Does Ryan have another plan up his sleeve?

We’ll have to find out, but I can’t wait to see what happens once all of the players are in place.

4

“She has committed an act of treason.”

After following up on some leads, Esme’s discoveries have been noticed by her supervisor, who reports that this is now a “Priority 1 Manhunt.”  The NFFA shows off just how powerful they are, using every single form of technology against Esme to try and track her down.

Luckily, our girl is aware of some of the blind spots, which works to her advantage, but this is only a temporary solution.

It also looks like the girl she was training at the NFFA is on her side, as she changes several camera views to try and help Esme.  At this point, Esme needs all the help she can get because I’m not sure that one can truly outrun the NFFA.

I’m still rooting for her anyway!

3

“So messed up…”

Yeah, you can say that again Ben, although you are proving to be quite the good liar under pressure.  After being questioned about Andy’s death, Ben reveals that he was just nervous because he was smoking weed, which apparently is a class Y offense.

Ben returns home during school break with his girlfriend and it’s clear that the urge to Purge has not gone away just yet, as his older brother continues to push his buttons.

The Campus Killer is certainly making a name for himself,  but now that Ben’s girlfriend has found his bloody God Purge mask, it looks like Ben is about to be exposed.

Will Ben really try and kill his girlfriend to keep this secret?  We’ll have to wait and see, but she better watch her back for sure!

2

“I need your help.”

I had a feeling that Esme was going to turn to Ryan for help and she does in this episode.  Ryan is skeptical at first, but decides to help hide Esme, realizing that they are ultimately both good people and want the same thing.

Ryan asks Esme if she thinks she can really take down the NFFA and perhaps she can if she gets some support here, but it’s not going to be easy.

Esme is welcomed in as the newest member of the team, so perhaps she can also help Ryan deal with his Captain problem…

1

“I wasn’t the only one.”

Marcus is still in shock over Michelle’s confession, but he is not about to let things go, as he decides to text Sam from Michelle’s phone, asking him over for a chat.  Only Sam shows up with his wife, April, to make things even more awkward.

April apparently knows about the affair, but says she had no idea that Sam tried to Purge Marcus.  At first, Sam says he didn’t do it and even tries to put the blame on Michelle, but eventually has a change of heart when Marcus holds his face above the stove burner.

Sam takes down his part of the contract, but we get another twist and learn that he wasn’t the only one and that apparently the whole neighborhood wanted to Purge Marcus.

So, what did Marcus do to piss everyone off?  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on The Purge below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Walking Dead” season 10 episode 7: “Open Your Eyes”

Happy Monday TV fans!  After watching AMC’s The Walking Dead season 10 episode 7, Siddiq may have had “miles to go before he sleeps,” but he does still have promises to keep.  The truth can be a dangerous thing, but once all of the pieces are put together, what else will be revealed?  Please note MAJOR spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Open Your Eyes,” Siddiq’s flashes finally come together, as we learn the truth behind them.  Meanwhile, Carol attempts to get some answers out of her prisoner and Lydia makes a choice.

My top 5 moments from The Walking Dead season 10 episode 7 are:

5

“Alpha drew a line and you need to choose what side you’re on.”

That may be so, but Carol also needs to remember that Lydia is more than a potential weapon against Alpha.  She’s also a person and Daryl reminds her that she’s been through enough.  That being said, Lydia does share some information with Carol about her mother using manipulation as a strategy.

She explains that if The Whisperers see a place like Alexandria, another way to survive will be revealed and it could destroy everything Alpha has worked so hard to put in place for them.

Lydia reminds Carol that “an idea like that is dangerous” and that it could spread.  The idea of hope can spread quicker than any threat or sickness, but will Carol and the others be able to execute this plan effectively?

We’ll have to see how this turns out, but it’s clear that Lydia may be the key to all of this.

4

“He is one of them.”

Our forbidden Romeo and Juliet story continues, as Aaron and Gamma continue to meet together and bond.  Aaron tells Gamma about his daughter and family, but Gamma has trouble opening up about her own sister.

It’s clear that Gamma is having second thoughts, recognizing the potential for goodness through Aaron, but Alpha whips her back into reality.

Although all bets might be off now that Gamma knows that Lydia is alive…

Will Gamma be the one to truly turn the tables on Alpha?  Will Aaron get caught in the crossfire?  I can’t wait to find out, but I think that Gamma’s character has a lot of potential and I’m waiting for her to do something truly significant.

3

“He bleeds until he answers.”

Carol means business, but she decides to first start off with some bread and jam.  After the prisoner spits it back in her face, Carol is not playing nice anymore and shows off her potential skills as a torturer.

Daryl gets in on the action as well, but it looks like the prisoner is going to remain loyal to Alpha until the end, but Carol realizes that exposing that Lydia is alive might get him to talk.

Of course the prisoner dies before this can happen, as Dante tells Siddiq that he packed the wrong bag, which led to his untimely demise.

So much for that…

2

“I choose mine!”

After Carol brings Lydia to the line, revealing her to Gamma, Lydia realizes that Carol has been using her and tells her that she is just like her mother.

She may have a point here, as Carol is just acting without really thinking things through.  Lydia decides to choose her own side and runs off, but where can she really go now?

It’s not like she can go back to her mother, but she’s not exactly safe out in the woods either…

Is she going to look for Negan?  Will he be able to help her now that he is with The Whisperers?

Let’s hope that Daryl and Dog can help find her because Lydia is one of my favorite characters on the show and I would be devastated if we lost her.

1

“Open your eyes…”

This episode was jam-packed with a lot, but the scenes with Siddiq stole the show.  We have been getting bits and pieces of Siddiq’s flashes sprinkled across each episode and they all led to this moment.

The guilt is clearly getting to Siddiq, as he even jumps in the water to find some kind of escape, but Rosita jumps in after him and he finally takes a moment to confide in her.

Siddiq explains that he blames himself for what happened because he simply did nothing and watched his friends die.  Rosita tries to remind him that he has people who truly love him and that he is not alone, which was a touching moment between them.

Toward the end of the episode, Dante goes to see Siddiq to see how he is doing and Siddiq hears a clicking sound Dante is making, which triggers back the missing pieces.

It is revealed that Dante is a Whisperer and he is the one who held Siddiq back and made him watch his friends die.  Siddiq tries to keep his cool with this revelation, but it’s too late, as Dante kills him in a shocking and heartbreaking scene.

Dante seems like he did truly care about Siddiq in some kind of sick and twisted way, but he does what he has to, realizing that Siddiq will expose him.  Siddiq is also the only one who has realized that the water may be making people sick, which is another reason why Dante needs to eliminate him.

RIP Siddiq.

You will be missed!

Now that we know that Dante is an undercover Whisperer, who will be the one to unmask him…or I guess put the mask back on?

Will Rosita be able to get justice for Siddiq’s death?

Overall, this was a shocking and revealing episode.  All of the pieces are coming together now, but let’s hope that Siddiq’s death was not in vain.  Stay tuned for the mid-season finale next week!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories & thoughts on The Walking Dead below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Shameless” season 10 episode 2: “This Is Like Rich People Christmas!”

Happy Sunday TV fans!  After watching Showtime’s Shameless season 10 episode 2, Debbie reminded us that “you only pull wings off a fly because you feel dead inside.”  A tad morbid, but perhaps she is right, as we learn that having power over someone isn’t always the answer.

In tonight’s episode, “Sleep Well My Prince For Tomorrow You Shall Be King,” Debbie isn’t the only one scamming the system, as Kev and V stumble upon a “scamazon” that they can’t turn down.  Meanwhile, Lip adjusts to fatherhood, Carl finds a new potential business partner, and Liam continues to search for his identity.

My top 5 moments from Shameless season 10 episode 2 are:

5

“What happened to us?”

Ian and Mickey are back this season!

Only it seems like there may be trouble in paradise, as one of our favorite ships on the show are having trouble adjusting to being cellmates.  Ian and Mickey are fighting like old ladies and are desperate to get some kind of a break so they don’t kill each other.

Let’s hope these two can work things out, but it’s nice to see some familiar faces back on the show!

4

“I think you broke my leg!”

Frank and Mikey realize that they need to come up with a fast way to make some money before Debbie kicks them to the curb.  They try to scam some uber drivers, but end up hitting a snag when both drivers see right through their act.

Frank and Mikey better “get fresh” if they want to score some real cash, but is Frank about to take back his role as the head of the household?

I mean, I’m not sure that he ever really was in charge…

3

“This is like rich people Christmas!”

Kev and V continue to bring the laughs and are the highlight of the new season so far for me.  After Kev tries to return his new shoes, the delivery man ends up choking himself out while having his way with himself in the bathroom.

Kev and V are not exactly pleased to have a dead guy in their bathroom, but this does lead to a “scamazon” of their very own, as they decide to ransack his truck, bringing joy to all…along with a lot of free stuff!

At the end of the episode, we learn that the delivery guy is not actually dead, but he doesn’t seem too surprised to wake up on the bathroom floor…

2

“You’re like a walking PSA to wear a condom.”

Liam may have a valid point here, but Lip is trying his best to adjust to being a new dad.  We meet baby Freddy, as Lip is thrown right into parenthood.  It looks like Lip has a lot to learn, but I’m confident that he will be an amazing dad.

We still do not know Tami’s fate just yet so I’m curious to see how this story will unfold, but it looks like Lip’s life is about to change forever.

1

“You just want to feel like you have power over me…”

Debbie tries to return her first pair of shoes and is in for a surprise when the salesman takes out a black light to inspect them.  Debbie certainly didn’t account for that, but is beyond desperate to get her money back.

The shoe salesman blackmails her, but Debbie ends up turning the tables on him, regaining the power he tried to take away from her.  Debbie lucks out and gets to keep the shoes and her money, but she’s not out of trouble just yet, as Mikey follows her to her She Shed.

Mikey blackmails Debbie as well, but he is looking to have Frank be the head of the family again.  Debbie comes to the realization that perhaps she was also trying to have power over her family because she felt bad about herself, handing over ATM cards to her brothers and telling Frank that he can be the leader if he wants, claiming that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

Now that Frank is in charge, I have a feeling that things are going to get even crazier, but we’ll have to see how this goes.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts on Shameless below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

My performance of the week ending 11/16/19 on TV goes to…

Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester on The CW’s Supernatural.

Usually, Sam is the one who brings me to tears, but I have to say that I was beyond impressed with Jensen Ackles’s performance in season 15 episode 5.  It really made me think about how far Dean has come as a character, as I started to come to terms with the fact that we are nearing the end of his journey.

For me, Dean has always been the charming one to bring us some much needed comic relief to break up some of the angst and tension we often see throughout the seasons.  Dean has certainly had some truly epic and emotional moments as well, but there was something so real and moving about his conversation with Ashley in season 15 episode 5.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not up-to-date on the series.

During Dean’s talk with Ashley, he takes a moment to self reflect, especially after Ashley wonders if they might be better off with a set route for their lives.  We have previously seen Dean struggle with this, wondering if they are all just Chuck’s puppets, but in this moment, he actually finally realizes that his life is so much more than that.

Dean talks about how much he loves his job and says that he enjoys helping people and that’s the point.  It’s about all the small moments and it’s not supposed to be easy.  It may not be possible for Dean to save everyone, but every action counts and he recognizes that here.

Even though we later find out that Ashley is actually Lilith, it still doesn’t erase the honest and reflective moment here for Dean.  I’ve been watching his character grow for 15 seasons and this was the first time I truly stopped to both smile and cry at his words.  Maybe it’s because I know we are approaching the end or maybe it is because I was so proud of Dean for finally realizing that his actions do matter.

What’s next for Dean?  We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like he is ready to find some impossible way to stop Chuck/God.  I can’t ignore Sam’s dreams or visions and I’m wondering if one brother will truly have to take down the other?  This isn’t the first time we have seen a plot like this on SPN, but since we are in the last season, all bets are off.

I don’t want us to lose Dean, but he is no stranger to sacrifice and he would do anything to protect Sam.

Either way, I’m excited to see some more adventures for the Winchester brothers and I’m hoping that there is some way for Dean to make it out of this OK.  I sort of just want him to be able to take on the open road at the end of the series, riding off into the sunset, but nothing is ever that easy on SPN.

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” season 14 episode 8: “The Algorithm”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching FXX network’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 14 episode 8, we learned that sometimes we need to rely on a mathematical non emotional answer to find out what to do next, but perhaps the gang is over thinking it.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In Wednesday night’s episode, “Paddy’s Has a Jumper,” the gang’s chance at getting Fish and Chips is interrupted by a potential jumper on their roof, which leads to a debate on whether or not they should get involved.  Meanwhile, Frank crosses paths with a familiar face, and Cricket adds in his two cents.

My top 5 moments from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 14 episode 8 are:

5

“What we need is an algorithm.”

After finding out that a man named Brian O’Brien is about to jump off the roof of Paddy’s Pub, the gang wonders if they should really get involved.  Mac (Ronald McDonald) claims that he would kill himself too with a name like that, but it looks like Dennis really wants to create an accurate algorithm that will tell them what to do next.

The Algorithm:

Could He?

+

Would He?

+

Should We?

=

Answer!

Seems simple enough.  Let’s see how this goes.

4

“Where did you get that egg?”

Charlie seems super enthusiastic about getting his point across and he even decides to use his very own diorama with a hard boiled egg to determine if Brian O’Brien would actually die from falling off of the building.

Charlie thinks that he will probably get a broken leg based on the demonstration, but Dennis reminds him that perhaps a hard boiled egg is not an accurate representation of the human head.

Dee decides to eat the egg and we learn that Charlie apparently took it out of a hole somewhere, so she may be eating a rat’s egg right now…

3

“Why the hell are you wasting a perfectly good casaba melon?”

Apparently Frank keeps one in a safe for personal needs, but the gang decides that this should give them a better indication of whether or not Brian O’Brien would fall and die.  Cricket shows up and seems to really be more interested in obtaining the casaba melon, but he does weigh in on the conversation.

Dennis reminds everyone that sometimes it’s more about how someone falls, thinking of Maureen Ponderosa’s death, as the gang hilariously reminds him that he pushed her…

2

“I would love to interview you!”

Meanwhile, Frank is focused on getting his melon back and decides to say that he is Brian O’Brien’s father, which gets him an interview with…

Jackie Denardo!

Speaking of melons…

Cue the music!

The lovely and full breasted Jackie Denardo is back, played by Jessica Collins.  Jackie Denardo has appeared in episodes:  The Storm of the Century (Season 7, episode 6) and The Gang Saves the Day (Season 9, episode 6).

Dennis has quite the crush on her and the same music accompanied her when he first crossed paths with her in the store, which led to an extremely awkward conversation between them.

Frank realizes that he now has the opportunity to rub this in Dennis’s face, as he continues to pretend to be the jumper’s father to get some screen time.

1

“We could become a hot spot for jumpers.”

Toward the end of the episode, the gang realizes that the jumper dying might actually be good for business, realizing that they can capitalize on it.  Cricket offers to push him, but the gang isn’t too crazy about calling it murder.

Before they can execute the plan, Brian O’Brien comes down from the roof to reunite with his father, but is more than disappointed when he comes face-to-face with Frank.

The gang gets their Fish and Chips and it’s back to their television show, which they now decide that they don’t really like anyway and perhaps the algorithm was wrong after all…

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 5: “It Always Ends the Same”

Happy Friday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 5, we learned that Chuck is really only interested in one ending.  He’s not exactly Shakespeare, but it doesn’t look like he is letting go of his writing philosophy anytime soon, but is there a possibility for a surprise ending?  Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Proverbs 17:3,” Sam and Dean head out to Black Forest, Colorado to investigate a new case, but things take an interesting turn when a former foe re-emerges.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 5 are:

5

“I look exactly the same!”

In the beginning of the episode, Dean decides to try out some Ghost Pepper Jerky, but perhaps it is a little too hot for him to handle.  Sam and Dean head out to Colorado to investigate a mountain lion attack, discovering that the mountain lion is actually a werewolf.

Sam and Dean pose as employees from Fish & Wildlife, but their ID photos are from the first season of SPN, bringing some fun nostalgia into the mix.  Dean hilariously claims that he looks exactly the same, but I do agree that the Winchester brothers both look fantastic!

4

“I’m where I’m supposed to be.”

While investigating the case, Sam and Dean meet Ashley, who is the only one to survive the attack.  Dean bonds with her right away and promises to protect her.  While watching over her, Dean has a moving chat with her and explains that he does love his job, revealing that it feels good to help people.

I thought this moment was really important for Dean’s character because we have previously seen him shut down in other seasons and it looks like he is finally realizing that the good and the bad moments are going to happen, but he still wants to continue his job, helping one person at a time.

3

“I’m a monster too.”

The werewolf brothers kidnap Ashley, but Sam and Dean break up the party.  One of the brothers definitely has a conflicted conscience and decides to kill his own brother and then himself.

Sam and Dean are shocked by this action, but we’ve certainly been seeing a lot of monsters with several layers for a while.  No one’s ever really completely good or evil, but the brother aspect has to be some kind of foreshadowing…

2

“I love the hard way.”

As if this wasn’t surprising enough, Dean accidentally knocks Ashley down and she is brutally stabbed, but we discover that she is actually Lilith.  Chuck apparently brought her back from The Empty and she is carrying out his request, explaining that she wants the Equalizer, even though she refuses to call it that.

Lilith is a worthy former foe and Sam and Dean are completely shocked by her re-appearance, now understanding that this case was another one of Chuck’s creations.  Lilith says she can’t kill them; clearly playing by Chuck’s rules, revealing that he wants their story to end with one brother killing the other.

1

“Why doesn’t he just kill us already?”

A fair point for sure, Dean, but it looks like Chuck is only interested in one kind of ending.  Sam finally tells Dean about his nightmares, revealing that perhaps he is seeing versions of Chuck’s stories because he is linked to him from the bullet wound, confirming a theory that many of us had.

So, if Sam can see Chuck’s endings, is it possible for him to change the outcome?

Sam and Dean are left with the impossible task of finding a way to kill Chuck/God, but this is not going to be easy, especially now that Lilith has destroyed the Equalizer.

So, how will they be able to stop Chuck/God once and for all?

Can Cass help at all?

I have a feeling that the Winchesters are certainly going to have to get creative for this one, but I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Stay tuned SPN family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “American Horror Story: 1984” season 9 episode 9 Season Finale: “Final Girl”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching the FX network’s American Horror Story:  1984 season 9 episode 9 season finale, I learned that the 80’s will never truly die, but our killers certainly didn’t make it easy for our potential Final Girls.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “Final Girl,” we flash forward to 2019, as a familiar AHS face seeks out Camp Redwood, looking for answers.  Meanwhile, the Final Girl is revealed, but not before we get some unexpected twists and turns along the way.  My top 5 moments from the American Horror Story:  1984 season 9 episode 9 Season Finale are:

5

“You’re in danger…”

We certainly got a lot of time jumps during this season and it’s now 2019, as AHS alum, Finn Wittrock, shows up at Camp Redwood to find out the truth.  He comes into contact with Montana and Trevor and they learn that he is Mr. Jingles’s son, Bobby.

Small world!  Bobby has returned to find his father, but they tell him that he is dead and that he is in great danger now.

Bobby is quickly introduced to the supernatural threats on the campgrounds, but will he be able to make it out alive?  Let’s find out!

4

“You can’t sing Rebel Yell and not be a rebel.”

Fair point, Montana!  During the episode, we discover that Margaret brutally stabbed Trevor after finding out that he was trying to keep people from coming to her musical massacre fest.  Trevor tries to get over the campground lines so that he can be with Montana, but he can’t make it.  Luckily, Brooke shows up to help him, as Montana now realizes that she also has the chance for redemption.

Dylan McDermott’s character is killed pretty easily, but Montana is ready to take down the Night Stalker herself.

Naturally, she tells him that Billy Idol is waiting for him to lure him away, which is a great tactic!  The Night Stalker is surrounded by all the ghosts and they take out their revenge on him, trapping his spirit there for eternity.

Only they need to keep constant watch over him or he could summon Satan to be reborn, so this is certainly a lot of work.

While I was slightly disappointed with how easy it was to take down the Night Stalker, I was happy with Montana’s quest toward redemption here.

3

“Take her…”

The Night Stalker was really just the appetizer for the main course; however, as the ghosts now turn their attention on Margaret.

Margaret is not really intimidated, but they certainly pull out all the stops to brutally murder her.  They cut off her limbs one by one and ensure that the remains are spilled out past the campgrounds, but one should never truly discount Margaret…

Either way, this scene had my stomach turning, but it’s not like she didn’t have this coming.

2

“You were the last one.  The only one.”

Right before Margaret is taken, Brooke and Donna attack her, but Brooke is stabbed in the process.  When Bobby goes to the asylum to get some answers about his father, he meets Donna years later and realizes that she is the Final Girl.

Only nothing is that simple on AHS, as we find out that Ray saved Brooke and she has been secretly sending Bobby money all these years to try and give him a chance at a normal life.

It looks like Brooke and Donna are both the Final Girls after all!

Both of them killed it and were the highlight of the season for me, so I was really happy that they both were able to make it out of there OK.  Looks like they’re bonded for life now!

“The 80’s will never die.”

Even after hearing everything, Bobby still returns to Camp Redwood and of course the Night Stalker breaks free and tries to kill him.  The ghosts all band together to save him and Mr. Jingles shows up with perfect timing to stop Margaret, who has been hiding out all this time to get her revenge, revealing that she died right before her head was thrown across the line.

Bobby is stabbed and it doesn’t look too good for him, but his grandmother shows up to stop Margaret, giving Bobby his chance at a real happy ending.

Montana reminds him to keep their ghost stories alive so that the 80’s never die and we get somewhat of a happily ever after here.

So overall, I absolutely LOVED the first half of season 9.  The throwback to the 80’s and the music was out of this world.  The show did an excellent job of channeling that slasher vibe while also throwing in some campy horror humor to really lighten the mood and I thought that this was so entertaining.

However, once we got to the second half of the season, it felt like random plots were thrown our way and everything got a little bit chaotic.  It almost seemed like they didn’t really know where to go at a certain point and I almost wish they would have had fewer episodes with more 80’s slasher fun because the season was at its highest point during those moments.

Either way, I appreciated the music and had a lot of fun watching.  Although I really wanted to see Billy Idol!  There were some fantastic guest stars and some really great performances, but we’ll have to see what premise we get in season 10.  Stay tuned AHS fans!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 6: “No more Secrets, No more Lies”

Happy Thursday TV fans!  After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 6, I learned that it is possible to save a town one kid at a time, but what happens when you decide to make a deal with the devil himself?  Will it be worth it in the end?  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Sixty-Three:  Hereditary,” Cheryl and Toni continue to be tormented by a “demon doll.”  Meanwhile, the Lodge family is reunited, Jughead uncovers a secret, and Betty visits an old enemy to get some answers about Charles.  My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 6 are:

5

“Nothing’s that simple with you.”

Very true, Archie, so perhaps you should heed your own advice?  During the episode, Dodger continues to threaten Archie and the kids, which is making things more than difficult for him.  Hiram Lodge pays Archie a visit and actually has some genuine words about his father, reminding him that he would be proud of him.

I thought this was a nice gesture from Hiram, but you can never truly trust the devil. After shots are fired at Archie’s home, endangering his mother, Archie visits Hiram and asks him for his help. Hiram claims that he can’t help him, but Archie later discovers Dodger rolled up in a bloody carpet outside of the community center.

Dodger’s fate certainly doesn’t look too good here, but I’m more concerned about Archie making a deal with the devil.  I understand that he was trying to protect his mom, but being in Hiram’s debt is never a good thing…oh Archiekins!

4

“I’m not giving an inch!”

Hiram is also stirring up trouble with his own family, as he claims that he wants to start a Rum business with Hermosa’s help.  Veronica is not exactly pleased and tells him to leave.  She offers her mother a job as a hostess, but Hermione has a change of heart when her husband seduces her.

Hermione is no stranger to past mistakes, but she clearly hasn’t learned her lesson either.  Temptation is a tricky thing, but it looks like Veronica is the only Lodge standing her ground here.

Go V!

3

“Damn you demon doll!”

Cheryl and Toni continue to be tormented by the creepy Julian doll, which seems to be wreaking havoc in Cheryl’s home.  This is not the only thing she has to worry about; however, as her creepy Aunt Cricket and Uncle Bedford show up, asking Cheryl to consider selling the business and house.

Toni reminds Cheryl that this might be their chance to get a fresh start and she’s right, but Cheryl doesn’t want to hear anything else once her aunt and uncle want to go down to the chapel, anxious to protect Jason.

Later on, Uncle Bedford discovers Jason’s body and threatens to have her committed so that they can take over the business, but Cheryl is not about to go out quietly.  After he attacks Cheryl, Toni steps in once again to save her beloved and knocks Uncle Bedford out.

Did Toni just kill Uncle Bedford?  I’m not sure, but it looks like Choni may be in for some more trouble.  Perhaps Nana Rose can help out here…

2

“The text doesn’t lie.”

After experiencing some writer’s block, Jughead uncovers that his grandfather actually wrote the first Baxter mystery book and Mr. DuPont took credit for it.  Mr. DuPont is not pleased with these accusations and threatens Jughead quite a bit.

Jughead doesn’t stay quiet; however, and asks Mr. Chipping for help, who seems more than willing to set the record straight.

During a seminar, Mr. Chipping tells Jughead that he’s sorry he wasn’t able to help him and jumps out the window.  As if this wasn’t strange enough, Jughead’s classmates just sit there staring like nothing is wrong.

What the hell is going on at Stonewall Prep?

Is Mr. Chipping dead?

Is Mr. DuPont Jughead’s potential killer?

I’m not sure, but he is certainly not going to make things easy for Jughead, especially now that he will be taking over the class.  It looks like Jughead may need some backup.  Don’t forget to kiss your wonderful girlfriend, Betty!  You need her!

1

“Why would I lie at this point?”

Betty continues to try and get some answers about Charles and even goes to visit an old enemy…Chic.  Chic is in jail and is actually pretty forthcoming with Betty, telling her all about Charles’s darkness and how he apparently stabbed someone to death with scissors while on Jingle Jangle.

Betty confronts Charles and has him take a polygraph test, learning that he has been hiding that he is an addict.  After Chic threatens to incriminate Alice by revealing where the body of the Shady Man is, Charles helps FP and says that everything is OK now.

Charles has earned Betty’s trust, but we then see him visiting Chic at the end of the episode.  Charles and Chic seem to be romantically involved and it looks like Chic was working under Charles’s instruction here, but let’s hope that Betty can uncover the truth before it’s too late.

Now that we know that Charles absolutely has something to hide, what does he want from his new family?

Even though suspects are emerging in every episode in Jughead’s future potential murder, we can’t ignore the darkness in Charles.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Riverdale in the comments section below.  Thank you so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Purge” season 2 episode 5: “House of Mirrors”

Happy Wednesday TV fans!  After watching the USA network’s The Purge season 2 episode 5 last night, I realized that Ben may have had a point when he asked, “How can something be good one day and wrong the next?”  But don’t let the NFFA hear you say that.  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “House of Mirrors,” Ryan is forced to call an old enemy for backup after getting into a jam.  Meanwhile, we get a glimpse into Esme’s past, Ben continues to unleash the violence within him, and Marcus finally finds out who tried to purge him.  My top 5 moments from The Purge season 2 episode 5 are:

5

“You’re the one that got to leave…”

In this episode, we flash back to 10 years ago and learn more about Esme’s past with her sister, Sofia.  We learn that Sofia was being abused by their father and Esme tried to get her out of there to protect her.  Sofia started to see Dr. Adams, which connects the rest of the dots for us, but she is clearly broken and traumatized from what has happened to her.

Esme’s father tries to stay with her on Purge Night, but she locks him out and listens to him get brutally murdered outside, which peels back even more layers of her character for us.

Through it all, I still think that Esme is a good person, but this does explain why she may be working for the NFFA, as she genuinely believed she was trying to protect other innocent people, feeling somewhat responsible for what happened to her sister.

4

“We’re animals born to hunt.”

Ben’s friend, Andy, seems to be Purge obsessed, but even he has some rules and guidelines.  Ben makes the mistake of telling Andy about killing the farmer, but claims he is joking.  Ben can tell that Andy may tell someone and decides to brutally stab him before he can say anything.

There are a lot of bodies starting to pile up for Ben now and it’s only a matter of time before he gets caught…

3

“We’ve never had someone on the inside before…”

Esme is certainly taking things up a notch in the present and decides to call some kind of resistance group with her suspicions about the NFFA.  They seem grateful to have her assistance and it’s clear that Esme just wants to get some justice for these victims, but it looks like Esme is about to be in a world of trouble.

Her boss has been watching her and is about to announce her as a traitor, which means that she might need to turn to someone for help.

Perhaps Ryan?  I personally think that they would make a great tag team, but Ryan has his own mess to deal with right now as well.

2

“Names have consequences and they come at a price…”

They certainly do, but Marcus is willing to do whatever it takes to find out who tried to purge him.  We find out that the informant is not interested in money and would rather use Marcus’s skills as a doctor, but I have a feeling that Marcus is going to be in constant debt to the informant now.

Was it all worth it?

Well, he does find out that the name of the person who tried to purge him is Sam Tucker.  Michelle finally comes clean and says she had an affair with him, as Marcus’s world begins to start crashing down all around him.

What will happen when Marcus confronts Sam?  I can’t wait to find out!  And is Michelle really in the clear here?

1

“We can help each other.”

After Ryan and the rest of the gang break into a house to get into a safe they need, they end up in a dangerous situation when they are locked in the house.  The owners are armed and ready to stop them, but Ryan realizes that his only choice now is to call the police…

They end up escorted out of the building by the cops and we discover that he actually called his former captain who wants in on the deal.  Ryan has no choice but to let her in, but this is not going to end well for sure.

We definitely got some answers and reveals during this episode, but I personally can’t wait to see what happens next when Esme is on the run from the NFFA.  I’m rooting for you, girl!  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories and thoughts on The Purge below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Walking Dead” season 10 episode 6: “I’m All In”

Happy Monday TV fans!  During AMC’s The Walking Dead season 10 episode 6, Carol reminded Daryl that they seem to “keep paying no matter what side of the line we’re on.”  It looks like both Carol and Negan have decided to take things to the next level and it’s about time!  Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Bonds,” Carol and Daryl go out on a mission to “watch, learn, and leave,” but Carol has a plan of her own.  Meanwhile, Negan is tested by Beta, Eugene gets a mysterious call over the radio, and a serious illness starts to spread in Alexandria.

My top 5 moments from The Walking Dead season 10 episode 6 are:

5

“It’s not like that…”

I absolutely love the moments between Carol and Daryl and Carol is not afraid to ask Daryl about what is going on with Connie.  Daryl claims that it’s not like that and Carol asks him why not, explaining that Daryl doesn’t have to be alone anymore.

Even though I have always shipped Caryl together, I recognize that their friendship is something even greater than a chance at romance and I actually really like the moments between Daryl and Connie.  I’m glad that Carol said something here because maybe Daryl needs a push in the right direction!

4

“This is only going to get worse if we’re not ahead of it.”

Everyone seems to be getting really sick in Alexandria, which leads to a “field trip to the infirmary.”  Rosita does not seem to be doing too well and there is definitely a lot of pressure on Siddiq and Dante to figure this all out, but I’m starting to wonder what caused them all to get sick in the first place?

Is this just a really bad bug or is something else causing everyone to get sick here?

This is also leading to some more panic moments for Siddiq and it looks like we might get to fully understand what is happening with him in next week’s episode.

Did Siddiq kill for Alpha?  I can’t wait to find out, but he needs to stop having these episodes when he is holding poor baby Coco!

3

“Just you and me.”

Is Eugene finally going to get his chance at romance or did he just open the channel to an even greater threat?

I’m not sure, but it’s clear that Eugene and this mysterious woman are forming some kind of connection already.  The woman seems to appreciate Eugene’s quirkiness and we learn that she is from Pennsylvania, but we really don’t know anything else about her.

The woman is worried that Eugene could be a threat, but he tries to convince her that it is safe to talk to him.  She asks him to keep this between the two of them, which was another red flag for me.

Eugene better watch his back because I’m not sure that we can trust who is on the other line just yet…

2

“Did you plan this?”

After Daryl decides to tag along with Carol on her mission, he quickly discovers that she is not really looking for Negan and is trying to find Alpha’s horde instead.  Daryl and Carol actually have some luck here, but Daryl worries that their actions will have consequences.

Carol reminds him that they have already lost so much and she’s absolutely right, but you have to wonder if Carol is really thinking everything through or if her quest for revenge is blocking out some of her better judgment?

Daryl and Carol end up in a very dangerous situation, but Carol ends up taking back a Whisperer prisoner.  Daryl asks her if this was her plan all along, but it’s clear that Carol has just made a big move here and we’ll  have to see if it was the right call.

1

“I ain’t going anywhere!”

Even though I adored the moments between Carol and Daryl, once again, Negan stole the show for me.  His interactions with “Beta with benefits” were beyond hilarious.  Beta warns Alpha that Negan cannot be trusted and reminds her that he is too loud.

Negan claims that he can spill all of the secrets he has collected from their enemy, which would definitely come in handy, but it seems like Beta is more threatened by Negan than Alpha is.

After being tested and surrounded by walkers, Negan survives and I can’t say that I’m really surprised.  The big bad wolf is not going anywhere and he does take a knee to pledge himself to Alpha, claiming that he is all in.

I still think this is one hell of a long con and I feel like Negan and Carol are about to turn the tables on The Whisperers without them even realizing it, but you never know what’s up Negan’s sleeve.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own theories & thoughts on The Walking Dead below in the comments section.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
