Ranking the top 5 moments from “American Horror Story: 1984” season 9 episode 7: “The Lady in White”

Happy Halloween TV fans! After watching the FX network’s American Horror Story: 1984 season 9 episode 7, I learned that one should be careful about signing any kind of contract…especially if it’s with the devil. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “The Lady in White,” we say hello to some familiar AHS alum faces and they are ready to stir up some trouble. Meanwhile, we flash back to the 1940’s and learn more about Benjamin’s past and Brooke shows us her Final Girl potential while rocking it at a roller rink. My top 5 moments from American Horror Story: 1984 season 9 episode 7 are:

“She stole my life.”

Brooke and Donna make quite the tag team during this episode. Donna reveals that she swapped out the lethal injection, explaining why Brooke is really alive right now. Donna claims she is trying to make things right, knowing all too well what’s waiting on the other side if she continues down the wrong path.

Now that Brooke is finally free, will she be able to pull out all the stops as our Final Girl? Let’s hope so!

“What about your stranger policy?”

Hey Dylan McDermott! It’s always great to see him on AHS, although his character certainly seems shady. After meeting Brooke and Donna at the roller rink, he claims he needs a ride to go see his girlfriend, but things get a little suspicious on the ride there, suggesting that perhaps they just picked up a serial killer stranger. What are the odds?

“They couldn’t erase the evil.”

Dylan McDermott isn’t the only familiar face on this week’s episode of AHS 1984, as Lily Rabe also shows up, playing Benjamin’s mother. We flash back to 1948 when Camp Redwood was known as Camp Golden Star, discovering that Benjamin’s mother worked there and he and his brother were campers. After his mother told him to keep an eye on his brother, Benjamin lost sight of him for a moment and his brother ended up being brutally killed by the engine of a boat.

Benjamin’s mother has a nervous breakdown and decides to take her rage out on everyone, revealing the first real massacre here. After Benjamin ended her life, her blood seeped into the campgrounds, which would explain why there is a curse here. It’s clear that she may be the cause of all of this and it also explains why she hates camp counselors, since she blames them partially for her son’s death, giving us some Friday the 13^th nostalgia.

Benjamin’s mother also blames him, but can he make things right? Well, I’m not sure he will get the chance since he is killed by…himself? I’m not really too sure about this part. Was this supposed to be a projection of his brother or just the killer version of his own ghost? Either way, this version of Benjamin may be a worthy match for the Night Stalker, Ramirez.

“Your hitchhiking days are over.”

After the stranger in the car takes out a cop, he reveals that he is a serial killer and he’s actually trying to catch up to the Night Stalker by adding to his kill list. Brooke is presented with a choice: she can either save herself and drag Donna to her death or be killed.

Brooke says she is choosing herself, but ends up throwing the car in the reverse. Brooke and Donna work together and leave the stranger on the side of the road, but cut off some fingers to prevent him from hitching a ride.

Brooke is now the bad-ass girl I have been waiting for and I can’t wait to see this tag team see it through until the end!

“When you sign a contract with the devil, you better understand the fine print.”

The Night Stalker shows up and actually kills Kajagoogoo, claiming he already has his autograph after he signed a contract with the devil. The rest of the tour bus is found dead as well, but what about Billy?!

The Night Stalker has arrived and he’s ready to leave his mark, but I’m very excited to see the final showdown.

Overall, the episode was all right. I thought that the time jumps were slightly unnecessary, but I loved seeing some familiar faces on the show and right now, Brooke’s journey to become the Final Girl is the only thing keeping me invested. I’m hoping she can get everything back on track for us because I don’t want to lose the 80’s slasher vibe that hooked me on to the new season in the first place. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Affair” season 5 episode 7: “She Needs Someone to Blame”

Happy Sunday TV fans! After watching Showtime’s The Affair season 5 episode 7, I realized that it’s never easy making amends. Maybe we make progress and help others around us, but what happens when unfinished business from our past surfaces in the present? Are we still able to push the reset button or do we discover that perhaps we haven’t really learned anything from our past mistakes? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In tonight’s episode, “507,” Noah helps Whitney prepare for her upcoming wedding and runs into an old friend. Meanwhile, Joanie comes face-to-face with Benjamin Cruz, but will she get justice or will she wind up in even more pain? My top 5 moments from The Affair season 5 episode 7 are:

“Let’s at least try.”

Part one of the episode follows Noah, as he goes with Whitney to Montauk, helping her with her upcoming wedding. They arrive at Helen’s parents’ house and Bruce is getting worse and worse. He doesn’t know who Noah is, which is clearly putting a lot of stress on Helen’s mother. When the bills start adding up for the wedding, Whitney seems defeated and stressed, but Noah tries to remain calm and says they can figure this out, attempting to make things right for his daughter.

“End of an era…”

Noah and Whitney decide to stop at the Lobster Roll, but they discover that it is very different, as the new owners seem to have a different vision for it. I have to say that the restaurant certainly lost its charm and it looks like everyone is not as friendly as they used to be. This place clearly brings up some memories for Noah, as he reveals to Whitney that this is the place where he first met Alison.

Noah and Whitney bump into Luisa, who is leaving for New York. Noah finds out that she and Cole are separated and that Joanie is going to live with Cole in Vermont. Noah wants to say goodbye to Joanie, but doesn’t make it there in time, but this does close the loop on a few questions I had about Cole during present day.

“You’re trying to make amends.”

I have to say that I was really impressed with Noah during this episode. He really puts Whitney first and tries to make her wedding special for her, ultimately just wanting her to be happy. Whitney confides in her father about her own affair and Noah tries to shed some light on his own past, but this is difficult since it involves their family.

Right before Noah’s part ends, we discover that Eden is claiming that Noah coerced her into a sexual relationship and he receives a call from Vanity Fair about it, which means that Noah’s past is about to come crashing into his present, but is he prepared to deal with his prior actions and take some real responsibility? Even though Eden is probably trying to get something out of this, Noah is not completely innocent either so it will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

“So glad you are finally here…”

Part two of the episode is from Joanie’s perspective and she finally tracks down Benjamin Cruz. Joanie says her name is Gabrielle and claims she suffers from PTSD. Ben seems to recognize Joanie when she takes off her sunglasses, but he plays along. They even try out EMDR therapy, which is part of what brought Ben and Alison together in the first place.

After the charade is up, Joanie asks Ben if he killed her mother and he says, “Yes.” Ben is not hiding anything from Joanie at this point and asks her, “Have you ever met someone who looked at you…all of you…even the savage parts and they didn’t flinch?” Ben claims to have truly connected with Alison and he says what happened was an accident. Ben wants Joanie to decide his fate now and he seems to be truly sorry, but I’m not buying it and neither should Joanie.

“You can’t touch me now.”

After talking it over with EJ, Joanie decides to call the authorities and they head out to see Ben, but he’s ready for them and says that Joanie is actually his patient. When Joanie signed a paper, she actually signed a release to be a patient and he plays back parts of the recording where Joanie described how she wanted to brutally kill Ben.

No one will believe Joanie now and she ends up attacking Ben, but he defends himself and then begins choking her. Ben realizes that Joanie wants him to put her out of her pain, but does not kill her.

While Joanie has now finally discovered the truth by facing the man who killed her mother, she does not obtain the closure she was looking for, but I’m hoping that there is a way to still bring Ben to justice somehow for Alison and for Joanie. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 6 episode 7: “My Worlds are Colliding”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching TV Land’s Younger season 6 episode 7, I realized that sometimes you just need to be spontaneous in the moment. Not everything has to go according to plan and sometimes the greatest moments happen that way. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Friends With Benefits,” everyone adjusts to the new merger, as Charles comes home. Meanwhile, Liza spends some quality time with Josh, but is it truly just one last spin? My top 5 moments from Younger season 6 episode 7 are:

“Welcome home.”

In this episode, the merger is complete and Charles comes home. Only he has a lot to unpack, as he also receives the boxes from the home he is selling, which releases some interesting facts about his past. Diana is thrilled to see Charles, but hilariously asks Liza how she feels about being a wrecking ball? Things should be different now; however, as Charles is ready to move forward with everything out in the open, but are there more secrets left to be uncovered?

“I was not a fan of the merger.”

It’s really no surprise that Zane is not too thrilled with the merger, as he has trouble adjusting to working for Kelsey. For starters, the coffee machine has gotten a little bit too complicated and Kelsey insists on shutting down a lot of his ideas, which does not make Zane happy. Kelsey suggests a performance evaluation, which leads to some tension between these two, but will they finally be able to separate their romantic and professional lives so that we can continue to ship them into happily ever after?

“How do you think it ends?”

After bumping into some of her New Jersey friends at a party, Liza is offended when they refer to Josh as a “crazy phase” she was going through. Perhaps this inspires Liza to take one last spin with Josh, as he is contemplating selling his motorcycle. After all, he needs to worry about his daughter’s safety now and I think that Josh is adjusting to fatherhood quite nicely.

Team Josh gets some quality time with Liza and Josh tells her that he is happy that they can still spend time together, but is it dangerous for Liza to spend so much alone time with Josh? Will this bring up unresolved feelings for him or is it completely innocent? We’ll have to wait and see!

“I’m being spontaneous here.”

Meanwhile, Diana gets invited to a christening in Staten Island and really dresses to impress. I have to say she looked absolutely fabulous, but Diana feels slightly threatened when she finds out that Enzo’s beautiful ex-girlfriend is the godmother, especially when she discovers that Enzo apparently has a “one year expiration date” on all of his relationships.

Later on, Diana is told to move out of the frame of the picture, but Enzo refuses to let Diana be pushed aside, as he gets down on one knee and proposes! Diana accepts and I am so beyond thrilled for these two! We needed a swoon-worthy moment and we definitely got one here.

“Let’s make a run for it.”

After discovering an unfinished manuscript in Charles’s things, Liza is intrigued by the younger man who had an affair with an older woman in the story. We later discover that Charles is the author and he doesn’t want the story published. Charles reveals a lot about himself to Liza and decides to test out his own spontaneity, as Charliza makes a run for it, avoiding another stuffy party.

Even though Josh is somewhat in the picture, I am still an enthusiastic Charliza fan and I think that these two have the potential to bring out the best in one another for years to come. Let’s just hope they can stay strong! Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 episode 7: “I’ll Hold Them Off”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 7, I realized that “all life is precious,” but it’s important to value your own life just as much as the lives of the people around you. Sometimes it may seem like sacrifice is the answer, but “impossible shit” still happens so it’s important to keep believing. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Still Standing,” Alicia continues to take out walkers like a boss, desperately trying to get Annie and the other kids to come with her. Meanwhile, Morgan tries to help Victor and Charlie, and Al opens up to June. My top 5 moments from Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 7 are:

“We are both exactly where we’re supposed to be.”

In the beginning of the episode, Alicia takes out the walkers in her way and tries to get through to Annie and the kids. She explains that she just wants to help, but Annie tells her that she never should have come there. Meanwhile, Morgan tries to reach Victor and Charlie, who get creative when it comes to setting up a barrier to protect themselves against the radioactive walkers. Alicia continued to impress me with her perseverance, but Annie was starting to really get on my nerves. Alicia has placed herself in danger repeatedly to help these children, but is the risk worth it?

“I lied to you…”

We check in with John and Dwight for a little while and John continues to have second thoughts about showing Dwight the letter from Sherry. However, he eventually hands him the letter and apologizes for not giving it to him sooner. Dwight actually handles it remarkably well and focuses on the fact that he believes that Sherry is still alive. He even points out that “impossible shit happens” so perhaps he will see Sherry again one day, but it doesn’t look that is going to happen anytime soon, as Dwight now realizes that he needs to help John. I am really enjoying the friendship and bond between these two and I hope we continue to get some screen time for them.

“You are not dead yet.”

Morgan continues to let positivity be his guide, as he tries to help his friends. After taking a quick tour of Grace’s house before using her truck, Morgan decides to suit up in his hazmat suit so that he can help Grace. The generator has failed and they are running out of time, but Morgan refuses to give up on her, reminding her that her life matters.

Grace also gives Morgan some advice as well and tells him that “you think everyone’s life is more important than yours” and she may be on to something here. It seems like both Morgan and Alicia are focusing so much on helping others that they are forgetting about their own lives in the process. Morgan has been giving out so much advice in season 5 and I thought it was necessary and spot on for Grace to return the favor here.

“What do you say to someone who is missing a piece of themselves?”

One of my absolute favorite moments was when we took some time to follow Al and June. The plane is out of fuel, but luckily Al knows where to find some after her encounter with Isabelle. Al finally takes June up on her offer and opens up to her about meeting Isabelle. Of course she doesn’t tell her everything, but she does take the time to explain that she felt something she hadn’t felt in a long time, but knows that she will never see her again.

June’s advice really touched me. She tells Al that when she thought she would never seen John again, she was grateful for the time they spent together. She chooses to still believe and tells Al that she will see Isabelle again one day. While I’m not sure that we will see Isabelle anytime soon, I thought this moment was so real and touching. It really spoke to me and I’m hoping that June and John are not separated again because I can’t handle it!

“I don’t know what you did but I know you made up for it.”

A group of walkers begin to get through Annie’s perimeter and the children are in immediate danger. Max and Dylan beg Annie to just let Alicia help and she finally agrees. Alicia runs across the bridge like a boss and takes out walkers left and right. You can’t help rooting for her in moments like these, as she is a fighter and a complete bad-ass! However, our girl Alicia is not invincible and she ends up taking out a radioactive walker. The blood reaches her face and she recognizes that she has just been exposed here.

Alicia doesn’t give up; however, as she continues to give the kids a chance to get to safety. Morgan radios over to Alicia at the end of the episode and she lies and tells him that she’s OK. Morgan tells her that it’s time they start living their own lives in addition to helping others and Alicia agrees, realizing that perhaps she doesn’t have too much living left.

Alicia Clark is the heart and soul of this show and she is played brilliantly by Alycia Debnam-Carey. She continues to impress me again and again and I am wondering what this means for the fate of her character. Is there any chance that Alicia will be OK? I’m not so sure, but I’m holding on to the impossible hope that she will be OK somehow. Maybe the radioactive walker was marked in error or perhaps there is a chance that the blood was somehow not contaminated?

Alicia is the last Clark standing and I’m not sure that I can handle a world without her. It was heartbreaking enough losing her as Lexa on The 100 and I can’t do it again here! It looks like we have a lot of action coming our way in episode 8 now that the alarms have sounded, so we will have to stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 6 episode 7: “I Just Want To Live”

Happy Wednesday TV fans! After watching the CW’s The 100 season 6 episode 7, I learned that “giving up isn’t better” and that sometimes all we need is a little push. So do we take the easy way out or do we risk it all? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Nevermind,” Clarke is trapped within her shared mind space with Josephine and unlocks different memories from her past that lead her to the truth. Meanwhile, we also learn more about Josephine’s past, as Clarke and her face off. My top 5 moments from The 100 season 6 episode 7 are:

“How is this possible?”

In the beginning of the episode, Clarke is present in her mind space and comes face to face with drawings of her past, including some of Wells and Lexa. Clexa fans everywhere held their breath when she touched the drawing of Lexa sweetly. Too bad she wasn’t actually there! Clarke eventually stumbles upon her father, who acts as a sort of guide to get her through this. She asks him how this is possible while realizing that she must have died, but comes to the conclusion that she is actually still alive. Clarke’s father inspires her to go and figure everything out and it was sweet to see him return in this episode, as he reminds his daughter not to give up just yet.

“I’d keep this memory safe…”

Clarke’s father is not the only one to make a special guest appearance in Clarke’s mind space, as we also get to see A.L.I.E again, otherwise known as “the bitch in the red dress,” according to Murphy. Clarke realizes that this is some kind of dream or hallucination, recognizing that she destroyed her, but A.L.I.E reminds her that she exists because of her and helps her find a memory that Clarke needs to keep safe. We flash to Clarke using the EMP on Raven to extract the chip, reminding us that everything that has happened to Clarke has prepared her for this battle now. Clarke’s memories are the key, but will she be able to find a way to wake up before it’s too late?

“I don’t go down easy.”

Clarke also gets to meet the real Josephine face to face, as Josephine tells her that this body isn’t big enough for the both of them. Josephine may be intimidating, but Clarke is not going out without a fight. We know that this shared mind space can only hold both of these identities temporarily, as Josephine explains what happens when they share a mind space for too long, which could result in a stroke or brain hemorrhage, killing them both. Both Josephine and Clarke want to survive and it doesn’t look like Josephine will stop looking for Clarke’s hidden memory. However, this also leads them both to re-visiting some traumatic memories as well that take a toll on them.

“Why are you so torn up?”

After crossing paths with Octavia and Maya, Clarke’s guilt begins to overwhelm her. Josephine points out that perhaps she has killed more people than she has actually saved, but recognizes that she did what she had to do. Clarke tries to hide the memory about Raven, but Josephine tracks it down at the spot where Finn died. This is one of Clarke’s most painful memories and Josephine also brings up Lexa, but Clarke warns her to be quiet, showing her vulnerability when it comes to her lost love. Clarke wants to be there for Madi and her friends, but Josephine starts to get through to her, realizing that she may need to sacrifice herself to save them once again. But is she truly ready to say goodbye to her life forever?

“Giving up isn’t better!”

It seems like Clarke is ready to say goodbye to her life, but Monty shows up to remind her about who she is and how she can truly do better. I thought it was fitting to see Monty here because he always represented the hope and goodness of everyone. Monty teams up with Clarke and they sneak past the door to Josephine’s own memories and unlock some of her painful ones as well. It looks like Josephine has a lot of issues to work through too, but some of her memories were quite disturbing and she is clearly not over them just yet. Clarke uses this to her advantage and ends up sending Morse code out to Bellamy using Christmas lights and Bellamy spells out: ALIVE.

I’m so glad that Bellamy was the one to see this because he has always had Clarke’s back and he now knows that they need to find a way to save her before it’s too late. This is why I am such a huge Bellarke fan! I have to say that this was one of my favorite episodes of the series and the show did a fantastic job of bringing back some of our favorite characters while continuing the story-line forward, which worked beautifully. Clarke’s past is always there, but it looks like she is discovering that sometimes you need to use the past to drive forward to the future. I think it’s about time we get our girl Clarke back for good! Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Killing Eve” season 2 episode 7: “Wide Awake”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching BBC America’s Killing Eve season 2 episode 7 on AMC, I found myself singing along with Villanelle to Blondie’s “One Way or Another.” I mean, if you really think about it, she will find a way to get you. Watch out, Eve! Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Wide Awake,” Villanelle secures her date with Aaron Peel, which leads to an interesting trip to Rome. Meanwhile, Eve has an important talk with Martin and begins to realize that her obsession is causing her to do things she wouldn’t normally do and Niko finds himself in a very dangerous situation. My top 5 moments from Killing Eve season 2 episode 7 are:

“I feel things when I’m with you…”

In the beginning of the episode, Eve stops by Villanelle’s place and asks her if she really knows anything about being truthful. Villanelle tells her that she really doesn’t know, but explains that she does feel something when she is with Eve. The two women from the end of last week’s episode both make their way out of Villanelle’s bedroom, which makes Eve slightly uneasy. Villanelle reminds her not to be jealous, but it’s clear that Eve is getting way too close here and she needs to be careful. Even though Villanelle has these feelings for her, she’s still a dangerous assassin who likes to do things her way.

“Do you love Eve?”

While Niko and Gemma are putting some of his things in storage, they get a surprise visit from Villanelle. Villanelle tells Niko, “You always look annoyed to see me,” but takes it upon herself to keep his snow globe and of course she wants the recipe to his Shepherd’s Pie because Eve loves it. “Worcestershire sauce…yes!” Who knew Worcestershire sauce could be so exciting? Even when tensions are high, Villanelle is still able to break the ice with her offbeat humor. It’s just one of the many reasons why I adore Villanelle and root for her even though she is a killer.

Villanelle also hilariously points out how annoying Gemma is, but is ready to cut to the chase. She directly asks Niko if he loves Eve and he says he does. Only honesty is not always the best policy when it comes to Villanelle, as she tells him that she was “so close to letting him go.” Villanelle knows that Eve will never forgive her if she hurts Niko, but things don’t look so good for Gemma. Sorry Gemma! At the end of the episode, Niko wakes up in the storage unit and discovers Gemma’s lifeless body wrapped in plastic. We know that Villanelle will do anything to keep Eve to herself, but is Niko prepared to fight for his wife? I can’t wait to find out!

“So that’s Peel’s weapon.”

Even after throwing a book at Aaron’s face, Villanelle still manages to secure a date with Aaron as “Billie.” I mean, she is quite charming after all. Aaron invites Villanelle to Rome, but she explains that she will not sleep with him, which doesn’t seem to bother him at all. So what is Aaron interested in? It seems like he is obsessed with maintaining control and he enjoys watching Villanelle eat and dress, but only if it is approved by him. Aaron has almost an entire wardrobe of gorgeous clothes waiting for her in her room, but he watches her look at them on camera like a creepy stalker.

After Eve manages to slip Villanelle her earpiece, it seems like we are in business, as Villanelle sits in on Aaron’s business dinner. We learn that his weapon is essentially information, but the kind of information that can be extremely dangerous, as you can type in the name of any person and learn everything about them…including their deepest and darkest secrets.

“You’re the only person in the world I know nothing about…”

After the dinner, Aaron tells Villanelle that he tried to look up information on “Billie” and found nothing, which instantly puts Eve in panic mode. However, Villanelle remains calm, as she and Aaron find common ground in the fact that they are both essentially a “void.” Aaron has no interest in truly connecting with others, but Villanelle explains that she does like trying to connect. She wants to touch and feel, which creates an interesting dynamic between these two. Even though this is an undercover job for Villanelle, I think it has revealed a lot about her own character, as she begins to explore parts of herself that she has never really tapped into before.

“I feel wide awake…”

During the episode, Eve has a talk with Martin and he asks her, “How much of the day do you spend thinking of her?” Eve reveals that she thinks of Villanelle most of the day, but yet they really don’t have a relationship. Eve recognizes that she is acting different and she feels unsafe, but somehow wide awake, as if this is her true identity. Martin tells her that his recommendation for her to be taken off this mission was ignored, but he is telling Eve now for her own safety. Only it doesn’t seem like she is ready to listen just yet, even though she recognizes how much she is changing.

After Villanelle goes to bed, she keeps the earpiece in and continues talking to Eve, sparking up a heated conversation that leads to Eve sleeping with Hugo. Eve essentially uses Hugo here, but ends up connecting with Villanelle through this act, as even Hugo recognizes this and tells her, “Thanks for the threesome.” Eve is playing a dangerous game here and she is allowing her desires to take complete control, throwing reason out the window. Will she be able to get a hold of herself or is she too far gone, slipping away into Villanelle’s web of dangerous seduction? Will Villaneve fans finally get the chance to see these two act on their feelings? Stay tuned for the season finale next week!

Greetings TV fans! After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 7, I learned that “you can’t will someone to be trustworthy,” but “if you’re honest, there are no wrong answers” when it comes to who you are. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In Wednesday night’s episode, “Dead Week,” Mona realizes that she is now a major player in the game, but is she ready to play? Meanwhile, Alison comes clean with the group about Taylor and tries to get through to her. My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 7 are:

“I wanted you to hear it from me first.”

In the beginning of the episode, Alison lets the group know that Taylor is really alive. She knows that this news is about to be broadcasted all over the place and she thinks it is important to share it with Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan first. She explains that Nolan knew and that he was trying to keep them safe. We know that Taylor was running away from someone who was threatening her, so is the same person now threatening Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan? We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but the cat is finally out of the bag and Taylor is now out in the open. But can she truly be trusted?

“He only hates you because he loves you.”

Dylan continues to try and win back Andrew’s affection in this episode, but Andrew has made it clear that he needs some time after learning about Dylan’s secret past with Nolan. Andrew finally comes around at the end of the episode and the two of them have a sweet moment together, as they slow dance. It looks like the two of them are home now, but they make it clear that there will be no more secrets between them, but we know that the drama is nowhere near over. Will Andrew be able to fully support Dylan?

“I know who this is!”

So I’ve been wondering who Bad Bishop is for quite some time and our girl Mona finally figures it out after Bad Bishop says that “chess is the art of math.” Mona remembers that Mason said something similar about playing piano during their counseling session and she confronts him. Mason admits to being Bad Bishop and asks what comes next and Mona says, “Start a new game,” as their conversation is interrupted when Nolan’s identification card is used somewhere, luring Mona away. Now that we know that Mason is Bad Bishop, what does this mean for Mona? Is this a new potential romance for her or a good friend? We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like Mason has been cleared of any involvement in Nolan’s murder, but let’s hope that he has good intentions for Mona.

“So reinvent yourself and follow through.”

I love the growing friendship between Alison and Mona on this spin-off and they have another truly significant moment together. Alison has been feeling torn over Taylor, recognizing the connection here. She has been trying to balance her life and make time for her family while also making a difference in the lives of her students, but she is feeling slightly defeated. Mona gives her a pep talk and tells her to follow through on starting over so that Alison can truly get her fresh start. I think that Mona and Alison have a great dynamic and they make a terrific tag team. Let’s just hope they can bring this new “A” down before it’s too late!

“Let’s take this bitch down.”

After Mona gets an interesting set of cupcakes featuring a creepy message asking: “Can we be pals?” she realizes that she has just become a major player in the new A’s game. Mona realizes that whoever broke into her apartment and left the cupcakes has Nolan’s ID card and she is determined to get to the bottom of this. After tracking the ID card to Dana Booker, Mona realizes that she is going to need someone on the inside as well and she tells Alison, “I refuse to be a doll.” Mona is ready to take on whoever she needs to and I think Dana Booker better watch her back. She may be clever, but there is no one like our girl, Mona. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “SMILF” season 2 episode 7: “You’re My Girl”

Greetings TV viewers! After watching Showtime’s SMILF season 2 episode 7, I realized that true friendship is when you no longer consider that person your friend and instead, they become family. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In tonight’s episode, “Smile More If Lying Fails,” Bridgette and Larry get their hair done and are invited to Eliza’s party. Meanwhile, Rafi and Nelson share their happy news and Bridgette shows up for her date two weeks late. My top 5 moments from the SMILF season 2 episode 7 are:

“Do you like your hair? No.”

In the beginning of the episode, the waitress leaves Bridgette a note saying that she does hair, in case she wants to take Larry. Bridgette asks Larry if he likes his hair and he hilariously says, “No.” Straight and to the point, Larry! Larry is scared when he is getting his hair done so Bridgette decides to get her hair done too. However, I’m not sure that identical cornrows was the right decision.

“Larry we gotta go get some weed.”

Eliza is stressing out at her party and calls Bridgette up in a panic to come over and get her some weed. Bridgette hilariously announces this to Larry, as they head over to Tutu’s together. It’s always fun seeing what Tutu and her sister are up to, but Bridgette tries to stick to the mission as much as possible with Larry by her side.

“A magical Puerto Rican wedding…I can’t wait.”

Rafi and Nelson announce that they are getting married and Bridgette seems genuinely happy for them. However, she quickly discovers that Larry is invited to the wedding, but she is not, which makes Bridgette feel some type of way. I felt really bad for Bridgette in this moment, as she realizes that her relationship with Rafi has certainly changed, now learning that he changed her name in his phone to just “Bridgette Bird.” Is there any hope for these two? I’m still hoping so!

“I’m here for our date…you’re two weeks late.”

Bridgette is still feeling upset about Rafi’s announcement and decides to call up the tattoo artist she stood up. He seems eager to see her and immediately skips dinner to initiate sex, but Bridgette is less than enthused about his over-aggressive approach. Bridgette hilariously begins texting Eliza during the act, saying that the sex is so bad, only she sends it to her date by mistake. Bridgette leaves after an awkward goodbye, realizing that perhaps this was not what she needed after all.

“You’re my girl.”

At the end of the episode, Bridgette meets up with Eliza and confides in her about her date and about Rafi’s announcement. Eliza proves to be Bridgette’s real friend, as she has her back and tells her that she is her cousin. I love the friendship between these two, which is far from perfect, but they both support each other, which is important. I was so disappointed to hear that SMILF has been canceled, but I’m looking forward to the remaining episodes of the series. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end on a major cliffhanger! Stay tuned for more SMILF fun!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Passage” season 1 episode 7: “You Are More Powerful Than You Realize”

Happy Tuesday TV fans! After watching Fox’s The Passage season 1 episode 7, we learned that “there’s some scary stuff coming,” but when will it arrive? Will Amy bring it forth or will her humanity help her see the light? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “You Are Like the Sun,” we learn more about Brad and Lila’s past and find out how they lost their daughter, Eva. Meanwhile, Carter attempts to connect with Amy, Jonas refuses to give up on Elizabeth, and Shauna confronts Fanning. My top 5 moments from The Passage season 1 episode 7 are:

“I’m gonna find them.”

During the episode, Clark makes the decision to go after Brad and Lila to help them. Brad and Lila are separated from Amy, which is definitely not a good sign, as the government is looking to eliminate any possible threats to Project Noah. Clark has previously been an obedient soldier, but he now realizes that Project Noah is a horror show and he is looking to finally do the right thing. We learn that this is not the first time that Clark has saved Brad after learning more about Brad’s past, but it looks like Clark is ready to join the good fight. Welcome to the team!

“We’re waiting on you.”

Fanning has been promising for quite some time that bad things are coming, but it seems like a lot of talking so far. Even Shauna confronts Fanning within his mind, realizing that Fanning has become too preoccupied with Elizabeth joining them. Shauna reminds him that Elizabeth may not choose him and also talks about having a “humanity hangover,” admitting that she does care about Clark, which is important. Previously, I got the impression that Shauna was merely manipulating Clark, but now it seems like her humanity is still present, as her feelings for him are real. We know that there is a connection between Shauna and Clark, but what will happen when the glass wall between them shatters? Will Shauna choose darkness or humanity? We’ll have to wait and see.

“I choose you.”

Elizabeth’s condition continues to get worse, but Jonas does not want to give up on his wife, which is heartbreaking to see. Dr. Sykes does all she can to help, but tries to remind Jonas that Elizabeth has the same symptoms as the other subjects, which is not a good sign. Fanning continues to try and lure Elizabeth over to the darkness, tempting her with life over death, but ultimately Elizabeth chooses Jonas. Elizabeth tells Jonas to shut off the machines, accepting her fate. Jonas doesn’t want to say goodbye, but he respects his wife’s wishes and tells her he loves her over and over again, which brought tears to my eyes. While I didn’t think that Elizabeth would make it, I’m happy that she made the decision to stay away from Fanning’s offer, but this will only fuel Jonas that much more. Jonas is ready to eliminate Fanning, but what will happen when these two finally face off? I personally can’t wait to see it.

“You are more powerful than you realize.”

While Amy worries about Brad’s fate, she receives a mental visit from her buddy, Carter. She recognizes that Carter has changed; reminding us that Amy is very capable of seeing things as they are, even though she is just a child. Rather than tempting Amy with darkness, Carter appears to be warning her and tells her that he is trying to be better, but “hunger makes you do weird things.” Can Carter be trusted here? Initially, I thought so, but it looks like this may have been a different strategy, as Carter tells Amy that she can go anywhere. Amy confides in Carter about her guilt over her mother’s death and she desperately wants to see her again. Amy’s mind projects herself into her old apartment with her mother, as she embraces her and tells her how much she loves her, which is a touching moment. However, the happiness is interrupted when Amy hears a knock at the door and immediately recognizes Fanning on the other side. Amy used her abilities to do something she truly desired, but does that mean that she has now invited the darkness in as well?

“Start over. It is possible.”

We get an important glimpse into Brad and Lila’s past, which is beyond tragic. We see Brad and Lila’s daughter, Eva, who is full of love and life. After her soccer game, Eva explains that she needs markers and Brad makes the decision to go over to the convenience store across the street. The store is held up by a robber and Brad tries to keep him calm, but Eva walks in the door and startles the robber, causing him to turn around and shoot her. We witness one of Brad and Lila’s therapy sessions and Lila tries to talk about getting back to work so that she can help people, but Brad seems distant and unable to even comprehend this as an option. Brad does not identify the suspect in a lineup and ends up taking his life with his own hands. Clark has been Brad’s best friend for a while and he intervenes and covers it up to protect him. Brad’s guilt begins to overwhelm him and Clark is the one to suggest that he joins him at Project Noah so they can make a difference, which is how this all started.

Brad and Lila’s past is so horrific and it’s understandable that they drifted apart, but they are now being thrown together repeatedly, but it is under extremely dangerous circumstances. We have seen several signs of a renewed spark between these two, but I’m not sure if they will get the chance to pursue it. Either way, their connected past is revealing and it’s understandable why Brad feels such a close bond with Amy, as he will do anything to protect her. Lila gently reminds him that Amy is not Eva, but Brad wants to keep her safe no matter what, as he is still holding on to his grief.

Overall, I thought this episode was more of a setup for what’s to come, but there were some truly heartbreaking moments within it. We only have one more episode left before the two hour season finale. There has been so much talk about Fanning’s plan, but I would like to see the vampires escape at this point so that we can witness what they are truly capable of. The vampires have been in a bubble for a while now, so I think it’s about time that they are unleashed onto the world, but will anyone be able to stop them? Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” season 3 episode 7: “The Man in Black”

Happy Wednesday TV fans! After watching the CW’s Riverdale season 3 episode 7, we may know who the Man in Black is, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the Gargoyle King. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In tonight’s episode, “Chapter Forty-Two: The Man in Black,” Archie and Jughead try to stay low in a strange town, but quickly realize that they are far from safe. Meanwhile, Veronica shows off her gambling skills and Betty refuses to abandon her investigation, as she uncovers quite a lot of connections at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 3 episode 7 are:

“When you’re trying to survive, it’s easy to lose sight of who you are.”

In the beginning of the episode, we catch up with Archie and Jughead, who are still looking for a safe place away from Hiram Lodge. They come across a farm in the ghost-like town of Athens and are taken in by Laurie Lake and her sister. While Archie tries to make himself useful at the farm, Jughead heads into town and detects symbols from the “Griffins and Gargoyles” game on some of the buildings. When he asks about it, he learns that the drug, “fizzle rocks,” is here and that there is a man in black who calls the shots. The town is oddly quiet and Jughead even comments that it is a little bit too “American Gothic” for him, but we learn that all of the men are working at the prison. Jughead warns Archie not to get distracted, but Archie and Laurie do share a kiss. Archie stops it from going any further; however, as he explains that he has a girl waiting for him back home. Laurie seems harmless enough…until she hits Archie over the head with a frying pan and ties him up. See Archie, just another reason why you should head on home to Veronica.

“Who’s the Man in Black?”

We quickly learn that the “Man in Black” is Hiram Lodge and that the men in town are working for him, distributing fizzle rocks. Hiram is more than disappointed when Archie gets away with Jughead, but what was Hiram really going to do here? Archie desperately wanted to stay and fight Hiram and “end this nightmare once and for all,” but Jughead talks some sense into him, recognizing that they are under prepared and no match for Hiram Lodge right now. We know that Hiram is capable of murder, but would he really eliminate Archie forever? It looks like Jughead and Archie will continue their brotherly adventure together, as they will be reunited with Jughead’s mother and sister in next week’s mid-season finale.

“Veronica Lodge is not about to go quietly into the night.”

Veronica makes the decision to leave home, even though both her mother and father try to stop her. Veronica sleeps at La Bonne Nuit and decides to spend her time figuring out how to make some real money. She enlists the help of Elio and decides to have a casino night, which seems like a great idea, but Hiram recognizes the potential danger here. Veronica even takes out a second mortgage on Pop’s Diner, which is extremely risky. During the casino night, Elio is having an unrealistic streak of luck and hasn’t lost yet, which would leave Veronica in the red. Veronica refuses to “go quietly into the night” and challenges Elio to a high stakes game of Black Jack, where the winner gets the deed to Pop’s Diner and La Bonne Nuit. I have to say that I was extremely nervous here, but Veronica ends up winning, as she sends Elio packing. We later find out that Veronica “scammed the scammer,” as Reggie so eloquently put it, but does this mean that Hiram has won back her affection? Hiram did warn Veronica and got her in touch with a dealer she could trust, but we know that he has an ulterior motive here. Later on, Pop warns Veronica and tells her, “Don’t be like your father.” He explains that Sheriff Minetta was found murdered and that the body was decapitated and his hands were sawed off. You really do not want to get on Hiram Lodge’s bad side.

“Make them think that you’re sane.”

During the episode, we also get to catch up with poor Betty, who is still at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. Betty’s narration is beyond hilarious, as she desperately tries to stay sane so that she can continue on with her investigation. Fizzle rocks pop up here as well and the patients are receiving the drug as their reward or “candy,” as Sister Woodhouse said in a beyond creepy tone. Betty observes a lot at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy and notices that both Claudius Blossom and Hiram Lodge show up, but what is the connection? We know that Hiram Lodge is the one who initially brought the fizzle rocks drugs to the Midnight Club so many years ago, so what is his end game here and how does Claudius fit in? It seems like Betty is actually obtaining quite the inside scoop until she meets her new roommate…Ethel. To quote Betty, “Fun!” Ethel is beyond obnoxious, as she tries to even tell Betty that her and Jughead will be a ship. Betty hilariously says, “Ethelhead…in your dreams” and I have to agree. Ethel is not the only threat that Betty has to deal with, however.

“The king awaits you.”

In a frightening moment, Betty is taken to The Gargoyle King’s chambers against her will after she discovers that the “X” door has been boarded up with bricks. Betty is forced to take the fizzle rocks drug and is brought before the king, which is absolutely terrifying. We do not get to see who or what Betty sees, but we do witness her behavior later on, as she now seems completely different. It’s almost like she is a shell of her former self, as she gives mechanical answers about the pictures that Sister Woodhouse holds up. Betty even recites, “My king, my savior. Guide me through the night. Bless me with your darkness. Gift me with your flight.” Has Betty been completely brainwashed? Are the drugs to blame? What did she really see in the Gargoyle King’s chambers? Also, where are Cheryl and Toni? They deserve some much needed screen time. Stay tuned for the mid-season finale next week!
