The 2020 Mid-Season TV Premieres I am most looking forward to: Bring on the new episodes!

Greetings TV Fans! As we approach Mid-January, some of our absolute favorite shows will be returning with new episodes and we can also look forward to some brand new shows as well that have a lot of potential. Looking to find out when they all start? You came to the right place!

While some of our favorite returning shows already have 2020 premiere dates announced, others are still giving out a TBD 2020 response, as I vigilantly keep checking to see when they will be premiering. It looks like we have several new shows with a lot of potential and some of our returning favorites seem very promising as well.

Without further delay, the 2020 Mid-season TV premieres I am most looking forward to are:

The Outsider

Premiere date: January 12th 2020

Where to watch: HBO

Based on Stephen King’s novel, this series will follow the murder investigation of a young boy, which leads a seasoned cop to question everything after discovering some supernatural forces and threats along the way.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Part 3)

Where to watch: Netflix

Sabrina Spellman is back and we can’t wait to see what she does next! Will she finally find a balance between being a mortal and a witch or will she lose herself to dark magic completely?

The Stranger

Premiere date: January 30th 2020

Where to watch: Netflix

Adam Price seems to have it all. That is, until a stranger approaches him one night and reveals a shocking secret that will change his life forever. This new mystery thriller looks binge-watch promising for sure!

Katy Keene

Premiere date: February 6th 2020

Where to watch: The CW

A spin-off of Riverdale? Yes please! Oh wait and it stars Pretty Little Liars’s Lucy Hale? I’m in!

Locke & Key

Based on the graphic novel, this show follows a group of siblings who move into Keyhouse after their father is murdered, which leads to some creepy findings of their own.

Homeland Season 8 (Final Season)

It seems like it’s been quite some time since we’ve last checked in with Carrie Mathison, but it’s about time. I can’t wait to see how it all ends!

The Haunting of Bly Manor (The Haunting of Hill House Season 2)

Where to watch: Netflix

The second season of The Haunting of Hill House already looks extremely promising based on the premise. Much like the AHS anthology, we will see several of the stars return from season one as we are welcomed into a new story, which will loosely follow The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. Can’t wait!!!!

Cursed

Premiere date: TBD 2020

Where to watch: Netflix

A fresh take on the Arthurian legend starring 13 Reasons Why’s Katherine Langford? I’m definitely in! This show is based on Frank Miller’s novel and will center around the Lady of the Lake (Nimue) story in a re imagined way.

Lovecraft Country

Premiere date: TBD 2020

Where to watch: HBO

A Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams team-up seems too good to be true, but that’s what we have here for this highly anticipated horror drama. Based on the novel by Matt Ruff, this story follows Atticus Black, who is searching for his missing father.

Westworld (Season 3)

Premiere date: March 15th 2020

Where to watch: HBO

Season 3 will bring us into a whole new world and if Aaron Paul is around for it, I’m in!

Little Fires Everywhere

Premiere date: March 18th 2020

Where to watch: Hulu

Starring the talented and amazing Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, this limited series will follow the fears of suburban mothers, which may give us some Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives nostalgia for sure. I’m in!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 9: “Tangerine Tangerine Tangerine”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching the CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 9, I learned that sometimes it’s necessary to shatter the darkest parts of ourselves, but are they ever truly gone or have we just unleashed something even more dangerous in the process? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Sixty-Six: Tangerine,” Betty’s life is put in danger after discovering that the Farm is using a trigger word to try and destroy her. Meanwhile, Cheryl confronts her intruder, Jughead finds his grandfather, and Archie and FP team up to clean up the streets.

My top 5 moments from the Riverdale season 4 episode 9 Mid-Season finale are:

“It’s on.”

Veronica vs. Hiram…place your bets now! Hiram shows off his maturity in this episode by trying to mess with everything his daughter cares about. He revokes her liquor license and even starts calling some college recruiters behind her back, but Veronica is not about to let him stand in her way.

She lets her grandmother know what is going on, but it doesn’t look like Hiram has learned his lesson yet. All hope is not lost; however, as the admissions rep from Columbia seems very interested in Veronica’s story.

“Let’s see how you do against someone your own size.”

FP has a talk with Archie and promises to help him send a message to stop these drug dealers from hurting kids, but he wants Archie to put down the vigilante mask for good. Archie and FP actually make quite the team, as FP even takes out his Serpent jacket for the occasion.

After FP is shot, Archie continues to react on instinct and almost beats Dodger to death. Luckily, FP will be OK, but it looks like Archie is in desperate need of a male role model.

And in walks Fred’s brother, Frank…

“You seize the opportunities you are given.”

Jughead wins the writing contest, so it looks like he will be the next ghost writer for the Baxter Brothers series. Congrats Jughead!

Mr. DuPont reminds Jughead that he needs to play by the rules, but Jughead is still not letting go of the past, as he decides to track down his grandfather to get some answers. After discovering that his grandfather sold the book over to DuPont, he starts to see the full picture, but it doesn’t look like the drama is over for Jughead just yet.

Jughead is now officially initiated into the Quill and Skull society, but it looks like he is going to be found dead four weeks later…

And so the plot thickens!

“I’m the Red Queen.”

I was so excited that Cheryl decided to tie in my favorite book of all time, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and of course she is our Red Queen. After pretending to poison herself, Penelope Blossom reveals herself, confirming one of my theories.

Penelope explains that she is jealous that Cheryl has been able to find happiness with dead Jason, but you would think she would try and salvage her own relationship with her daughter.

Cheryl is not about to let her mother walk away from this and decides to keep her captive in the bunker. Cheryl finally realizes that it is time to say goodbye to Jason and gives him a Viking funeral down at Sweet River with all of her friends.

I thought this was an important and vulnerable moment for Cheryl and I’m glad that Toni and her friends could be there for her. Even though Cheryl has a softer side, one should never cross the Red Queen, however.

“What did you do Betty?”

A good question for sure and of course we have to wait until January 22^nd for new episodes to find out more! During this episode, both Polly and Alice are hypnotized by a trigger word, tangerine. If the word is said three times, they try to eliminate “Evil Betty” or “Dark Betty” and we discover that Evelyn Evernever is the one making the calls.

Betty decides to have a little chat with Evelyn at Shankshaw Prison, but it looks like her greatest threat might be herself. Charles works with Betty and uses the word trigger, as Betty tries to go back in her memories to stop her childhood self from ever hurting her cat, Caramel.

It seems like everything works just fine, but when Betty turns to the mirror and says the trigger words again, she shatters it. Betty tells her mother that the darkness is gone, but now we discover that she may have been the one to kill Jughead.

Personally, I can’t believe that Betty would ever intentionally harm Jughead, but this is definitely a twist I did not see coming. Betty has been trying to stifle her dark side for a while now, but has she just unleashed something even more deadly in the process? Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 7: “I Kill Monsters”

Happy Friday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 7, it may be true that “no one’s innocent,” but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care so much. After all, that can often separate the good guys from the bad guys and when it comes down to it, someone has to be the one to set things right.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Last Call,” Dean catches up with an old friend named Leo, played by the amazing Christian Kane. Meanwhile, Castiel returns to help Sam, but things take a turn for the worse when Sergei the Shaman gets involved.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 7 are:

“Are you two hung over?”

I guess I wasn’t too off about Sam and Eileen. Now that Eileen is alive, she is spending quite a bit of time with Sam and it’s clear that there are some feelings floating around here.

Sam tells Dean that it’s not like that with her, but Castiel ends up interrupting a moment between them when Sam holds her hand, so I guess romance is not off the table just yet.

“I’m ready to help.”

When Castiel returns, he is ready to help, explaining to Sam that there may be some of his soul inside of Chuck. When Sam fired the gun, a piece of his essence was apparently fired off as well, which sort of explains the link.

Castiel wants to probe/study the wound to find out more, but it looks like he is going to have to turn to an old frenemy to do so…

“You ever regret it…walking away?”

Dean decides to take on a case by himself and heads out to Texhoma County, Texas, where a girl named Angela has gone missing after leaving B’s Sugar Bar. Dean winds up at a bar named Swayze’s and is reunited with an old friend, Leo, played by Angel’s Christian Kane.

Apparently Leo used to know Dean’s dad and Dean hasn’t seen him since college, but he used to hunt with them, so he is aware that monsters exist. Dean and him spend the night catching up with some fun stories and we even get to witness Dean putting on a show stopping number with Leo, so I call that a win!

“I think we can beat God.”

After Sergei the Shaman double crosses Castiel, Sam is in great danger, but starts having these flashes where he sees Chuck’s memories. Sergei is after the key of death (The Black Key) from the Men of Letters, but Castiel proves to be quite formidable when he shows Sergei a picture of his niece, threatening her life if he does not help Sam.

Perhaps Castiel has a future in the Russian mob after all, but Sergei does what he is told and Sam is right back where he started, still having the bullet wound.

All is not lost; however, as Sam suddenly realizes that Chuck is actually weak and they may be able to beat him now.

“I kill monsters…”

Christian Kane is no stranger to playing the bad guy, as we later find out that he is keeping a demon locked up and is feeding it victims to maintain money and power. Dean takes out the demon with little effort because he’s Dean Winchester and we get a showdown between him and Leo.

After running out of bullets, Dean decides to get creative with his weapon choice and goes for a pool cue stick. Dean can’t simply look the other way here even though he used to be friends with Leo. Right before he dies, Leo asks Dean why he cares so much and he explains that “someone has to.”

I thought this moment was really important for Dean once again. Even though the world is filled with monsters, Dean continues to fight the good fight while caring about others, which is easier said than done sometimes, but that’s why he is our hero!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 8: “I’m One Elizabeth Away From Exploding”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 8, I learned that sometimes it’s easier to open up to a stranger about our problems, but when those problems include haunted ghosts, daddy issues, and a hero complex, Mrs. Burble certainly has a lot of work to do. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Sixty-Five: In Therapy,” The Watcher returns and continues to send creepy VHS tapes to the residents of Riverdale. Meanwhile, our main characters take time to meet with the new counselor, Mrs. Burble, learning quite a bit about themselves in the process.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 8 are:

“Someone needs to step up.”

When Archie meets with Mrs. Burble, he explains that he doesn’t have any interest in going to college, focusing all of his attention on cleaning up the town of Riverdale. Mrs. Burble tries to get Archie to open up about his father and it’s clear that Archie is embracing this hero complex a little too much, as Mrs. Burble warns him about the dangers of becoming a vigilante.

Mrs. Burble suggests that Archie come up with an anonymous hotline so that he can help others without getting directly involved, but as soon as a call comes through, Archie grabs his mask once again, so it doesn’t look like he is ready to step down from his vigilante role anytime soon.

We know that Archie is desperate to fix things and has the tendency to carry the burden for everyone else, but he needs to watch out before he gets himself, or someone he loves, hurt.

“I love you most too.”

The Cooper ladies are in desperate need of some therapy, although Alice is now embracing her maiden name. Alice basically crashes Betty’s therapy session, as these two ladies try to air out their issues. Alice says that Betty is a little girl, but once they keep talking, she blurts out that she loves Betty most of all and she doesn’t want to lose her.

At the end of the episode, Alice leaves a check for Betty to make up for taking her college fund and Betty tells her that she loves her most too, which was a sweet moment.

Betty and Alice have been through their fair share of trauma, but I hope this is enough to repair some of the damage between them.

Although next week’s episode looks really frightening with Alice holding a knife, so we’ll have to see how this plays out for Betty and Alice.

“Pause…you’re taking my Vixens away?”

Mr. Honey continues to be Cheryl’s nemesis, explaining that she will need to be cleared through a therapy session before he will reconsider giving her back her duties on the cheerleading squad. Cheryl starts out with a guard around her, but actually opens up to Mrs. Burble quite a bit, as we start to realize how much trauma poor Cheryl has actually gone through.

Mrs. Burble tells Cheryl that she is “remarkably resilient” and I have to agree, but Cheryl finally starts to open up about talking to dead Jason and her feelings on Julian, suddenly realizing how crazy this seems.

Mrs. Burble has Cheryl take a test that determines that she does not have shared DNA, which means she actually didn’t consume Julian in the womb.

Cheryl may not be haunted anymore, but she shares Mrs. Burble’s theory with Toni, explaining that perhaps someone is messing with her.

Toni is hilariously catching up on some reading with The Amityville Horror, which certainly seems fitting, but now we have to wonder who is messing with Cheryl?

I can’t imagine that Nana Rose or Toni would do this and Cheryl already chased her relatives out the door, so is it possible that Mr. Honey is up to no good here? Polly? Penelope Blossom?

We’ll have to see how this plays out, but they better watch out. Cheryl Blossom is not someone you want to mess with!

“You should try seeing him through your father’s eyes.”

Even though Jughead is at Stonewall Prep, he gets a session with Mrs. Burble when he is waiting for a transcript. Jughead opens up about the mystery and scandal behind the Baxter Brothers, but Mrs. Burble suggests that perhaps he should focus more on his homework rather than this conspiracy theory.

Jughead is very guarded as well, but starts to think twice when Mrs. Burble explains that he should try to see things through FP’s eyes, reminding him how much FP has sacrificed for Jughead to try and do right by him.

This leads to a very nice moment between Jughead and his father, but will Jughead completely abandon his investigation?

Probably not, but at least he is getting back on track with his writing now.

“Veronica Luna is no one’s Cordelia!”

A shining moment for Veronica (formerly known as Lodge) Luna, who is beyond excited when she finds out that she received early admission into Harvard, which is her dream school. However, this dream quickly becomes a nightmare when she realizes that her father got involved, now not knowing if she received admission based on her own merit or not.

Veronica has always seen her family as rather Shakespearean, but Mrs. Burble explains that perhaps it really is more of a Greek Tragedy. She talks about Veronica’s relationship with her father being somewhat obsessive, as perhaps Hiram sees a lot of himself in Veronica and Veronica’s drive for business and success stems from her father.

Mrs. Burble explains that the only way Veronica can be free is to “kill her father,” although not with actual murder. Veronica turns down Harvard and stands up to her father, saying that she is going to win in terms of business, so I guess that means she will be making rum now?

Either way, this was a very important moment for Veronica. We have seen her stand up to her father again and again, but it looks like she is finally going to take a stand away from him to find her own purpose and identity. Go V!

Overall, this episode felt slightly transitional, although I think these moments gave us a chance to reflect on each character and their development over the seasons. However, we did get some plot advancing moments, as we still don’t know who The Watcher is and we later discover that in the future, Donna and Bret are the ones who claim that they saw Archie, Betty, and Veronica killing Jughead, so it looks like we still have more to uncover with this mystery.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 6: “I Learned From The Best”

Happy Friday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 6, we learned that even if we don’t make the rules, that doesn’t mean that we should give up. What we do matters, but sometimes we have to see it for ourselves to be convinced. Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Golden Time,” an old friend crosses paths with Sam and Dean. Meanwhile, Castiel attempts a case of his own, realizing that perhaps he is needed after all.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 6 are:

“I know how it ends…”

In the beginning of the episode, Sam crosses paths with Eileen. Remember her? Well, Eileen is now a ghost and she escaped from hell, but she is now disappointed to find out that she will not be able to get into heaven either, as the Winchesters share what they learned from Kevin.

Sam decides to try and help Eileen by obtaining one of Rowena’s crystals, hoping that he can do something for her soul, but Dean wants to sit this one out for now.

I always felt a vibe between Sam and Eileen in previous episodes, so I’m wondering if there may be a chance for them now…

“You miss her.”

Rowena kept a secret stash for her powerful spells and documents, as Sam begins to go through some of her journals. Eileen recognizes that Sam really misses Rowena and it’s clear that he is still feeling guilty about killing her, even though he knows it had to be done.

Sam comes across a spell that Rowena had been working on for their mother to bring her back to life and now suddenly realizes that perhaps he can finish it and help Eileen.

I love that we are still feeling Rowena’s presence even though she is gone. Sam is the only living person who can apparently walk into her place unharmed and it seems like she has left everything for him to find, knowing that he would be able to continue her work.

“I learned from the best!”

Witches are after Rowena’s secret stash as well and the head witch plans on using Rowena’s spell to bring back her daughter. Magic like this can only be used once, so Sam is not about to miss his chance to help someone he loves again.

After Dean shows up with perfect timing to help, it looks like Sam may be out of luck, but he ends up showing off how he learned from Rowena, taking down his enemy with a spell of his own. Go Sam! Rowena would be so proud!

“It’s time for me to get back in the game.”

We finally catch up with Castiel in this episode and learn that he is on…vacation! Well, at least he’s trying to enjoy some time relaxing and fishing, but Castiel finds himself caught up with his very own case after a boy goes missing.

Castiel agrees to help a worried mother and runs into a Djinn, taking him out, and reminding him that nothing will be able to protect him from Cass. I was absolutely loving bad-ass Castiel in this moment!

Castiel heals the boy and reunites him with his mother, now realizing that perhaps it is finally time for him to get back in the game. We need you Cass!

“Because we’re the guys who break the rules.”

Sam is able to use the spell to bring Eileen back to life, so I think it’s safe to say that perhaps romance isn’t off the table for these two. Either way, this was a heartwarming moment and I think Sam really needed to do this to remind him that their actions do matter.

Dean is now taking his turn at feeling defeated, but Sam reminds him that he needs him and that they will find a way to beat Chuck/God.

Perhaps we need everyone back together again in order to make some real progress here, but I’m hoping that Sam and Dean can put their angst aside in order to continue the good fight.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 7: “I’m Not As Sweet As You Might Think”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 7, I learned that you don’t necessarily need a beach for the perfect getaway, as Bughead reminds us that “conspiracy theories and a murder mystery to solve” can be quite romantic. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Sixty-Four: The Ice Storm,” everyone prepares for Thanksgiving, but revenge is a dish best served cold, as many of our characters plot their next moves. Meanwhile, Choni teams up with Nana Rose for an appetizing feast, Falice’s dinner plans are crashed, and Archie continues to pay tribute to Fred with his selfless actions.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 7 are:

“A secret society?”

I was so incredibly thankful to get some well deserved screen time for Bughead, as Betty visits Jughead at Stonewall Prep for a romantic long weekend together. Only we know that this weekend will absolutely include some sleuthing, as Betty and Jughead try to get to the bottom of Mr. Chipping’s suicide.

Jughead believes that there is more to the story and uncovers evidence that perhaps Mr. Chipping was in a Secret Society at Stonewall Prep that still exists today. Members wear the mark of Quill and Skull on a tie pin, but does Jughead have enough proof to pursue this further?

Also, was Mr. Chipping blackmailed into suicide to protect the reputation of the Baxter book series or is there something else going on here?

Either way, I feel confident knowing that Betty and Jughead are on the case.

“Now we’re the horrible parents…”

Finally! Some amazing moments for Falice! Ever since Alice returned, I was waiting to see some screen time for her and FP and we finally get it during the Thanksgiving episode. Alice and FP are looking forward to a dinner alone at Pop’s, but things get interesting when Hiram and Hermione show up.

Alice invites them over and it seems like everyone is getting along just fine until Hiram brings up trying to close down Archie’s community center, which does not sit well with FP. FP reminds Hiram that he is not his puppet and we get a little bit of a scuffle between these two, but it does spark something within FP.

Alice reminds FP that he doesn’t necessarily need to choose between being a Serpent and a Sheriff, especially since Hiram wants to be a kingpin and the mayor…

Watch out, Hiram. FP is coming for you!

“I love you. I’m so grateful to you.”

I’ve been absolutely loving the more developed story lines for Choni and they team up with Nana Rose once again to give us some hilarious entertainment. We learn that Toni did kill Uncle Bedford and Aunt Cricket is still snooping around, which gives Cheryl an idea.

Cheryl invites her family over for Thanksgiving Dinner and asks Nana Rose to tell the story of the first Blossom Thanksgiving. Seems harmless enough, but Nana Rose starts telling this dark and stomach-turning tale of how the Blossoms were forced to resort to cannibalism to survive.

Cheryl hilariously asks her family how they are enjoying the meat pies she prepared for the occasion and Toni even rolls dead Jason in for dessert. Cheryl tells Aunt Cricket that Uncle Bedford will never be found and that she will expose her crimes if she even thinks of saying anything.

I was relieved to find out that this was all an act, but I’m not sure that the trouble is over for Choni just yet, as we still have the creepy Julian doll lingering around.

Either way, Cheryl and Toni take a moment to say how thankful they are for one another, professing their love, which was a sweet and beautiful moment for my favorite couple on the show.

“I think you’ve got a hero complex.”

I think Dodger’s mom might be on to something here, but Archie is not going to let anyone ruin his Thanksgiving. Archie, Veronica, and Mad Dog plan a wonderful meal for the kids of Riverdale, but Hiram tries to shut them down.

With his mother’s support, Archie still goes through with the dinner, but Dodger’s mother shows up with some backup to confront Archie. We see where Dodger gets his winning personality from, but Mrs. Andrews channels her own Dirty Harry to get them out of there.

After reminiscing about Fred, Archie decides to dedicate the center to him and puts up his picture, which was a beautiful gesture. I think it’s safe to say that Fred is always watching over his family and he would be so proud of Archie.

It doesn’t look like this is the last of Dodger and his crazy family; however, as Dodger is now somehow missing from his hospital bed, but we’ll have to see how this plays out.

“I’m not as sweet as you might think.”

Classic Betty! After Jughead goes to get them some food from the vending machine, he crosses paths with someone in a creepy bunny mask, holding an axe. Our girl Betty saves the day and hits the masked threat with a golf club, proving just how resourceful she can be.

Only we find out that the masked strangers are Bret and Donna, who apparently just wanted to scare Jughead because you know, that’s fun?

This leads to an interesting game of Never Have I Ever, as Jughead tries to get them to admit something about the Secret Society. Betty decides to do some sleuthing of her own and discovers the Quill and Skull pin in Donna’s room.

Donna claims that she was having an affair with Mr. Chipping and says that he treated her terribly, but Betty thinks that she might be lying to stall. I think that Betty is absolutely on to something and we even see her channeling her own Carrie Mathison from Homeland, trying to figure out what’s really going on here.

Donna may be good, but she’s no match for our girl Betty, but this will certainly be quite the challenge.

Overall, this was a fun, jam-packed Thanksgiving episode. The mystery is only getting started and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Stay tuned!

My performance of the week ending 11/16/19 on TV goes to…

Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester on The CW’s Supernatural.

Usually, Sam is the one who brings me to tears, but I have to say that I was beyond impressed with Jensen Ackles’s performance in season 15 episode 5. It really made me think about how far Dean has come as a character, as I started to come to terms with the fact that we are nearing the end of his journey.

For me, Dean has always been the charming one to bring us some much needed comic relief to break up some of the angst and tension we often see throughout the seasons. Dean has certainly had some truly epic and emotional moments as well, but there was something so real and moving about his conversation with Ashley in season 15 episode 5.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not up-to-date on the series.

During Dean’s talk with Ashley, he takes a moment to self reflect, especially after Ashley wonders if they might be better off with a set route for their lives. We have previously seen Dean struggle with this, wondering if they are all just Chuck’s puppets, but in this moment, he actually finally realizes that his life is so much more than that.

Dean talks about how much he loves his job and says that he enjoys helping people and that’s the point. It’s about all the small moments and it’s not supposed to be easy. It may not be possible for Dean to save everyone, but every action counts and he recognizes that here.

Even though we later find out that Ashley is actually Lilith, it still doesn’t erase the honest and reflective moment here for Dean. I’ve been watching his character grow for 15 seasons and this was the first time I truly stopped to both smile and cry at his words. Maybe it’s because I know we are approaching the end or maybe it is because I was so proud of Dean for finally realizing that his actions do matter.

What’s next for Dean? We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like he is ready to find some impossible way to stop Chuck/God. I can’t ignore Sam’s dreams or visions and I’m wondering if one brother will truly have to take down the other? This isn’t the first time we have seen a plot like this on SPN, but since we are in the last season, all bets are off.

I don’t want us to lose Dean, but he is no stranger to sacrifice and he would do anything to protect Sam.

Either way, I’m excited to see some more adventures for the Winchester brothers and I’m hoping that there is some way for Dean to make it out of this OK. I sort of just want him to be able to take on the open road at the end of the series, riding off into the sunset, but nothing is ever that easy on SPN.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 6: “No more Secrets, No more Lies”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 6, I learned that it is possible to save a town one kid at a time, but what happens when you decide to make a deal with the devil himself? Will it be worth it in the end? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Sixty-Three: Hereditary,” Cheryl and Toni continue to be tormented by a “demon doll.” Meanwhile, the Lodge family is reunited, Jughead uncovers a secret, and Betty visits an old enemy to get some answers about Charles. My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 6 are:

“Nothing’s that simple with you.”

Very true, Archie, so perhaps you should heed your own advice? During the episode, Dodger continues to threaten Archie and the kids, which is making things more than difficult for him. Hiram Lodge pays Archie a visit and actually has some genuine words about his father, reminding him that he would be proud of him.

I thought this was a nice gesture from Hiram, but you can never truly trust the devil. After shots are fired at Archie’s home, endangering his mother, Archie visits Hiram and asks him for his help. Hiram claims that he can’t help him, but Archie later discovers Dodger rolled up in a bloody carpet outside of the community center.

Dodger’s fate certainly doesn’t look too good here, but I’m more concerned about Archie making a deal with the devil. I understand that he was trying to protect his mom, but being in Hiram’s debt is never a good thing…oh Archiekins!

“I’m not giving an inch!”

Hiram is also stirring up trouble with his own family, as he claims that he wants to start a Rum business with Hermosa’s help. Veronica is not exactly pleased and tells him to leave. She offers her mother a job as a hostess, but Hermione has a change of heart when her husband seduces her.

Hermione is no stranger to past mistakes, but she clearly hasn’t learned her lesson either. Temptation is a tricky thing, but it looks like Veronica is the only Lodge standing her ground here.

Go V!

“Damn you demon doll!”

Cheryl and Toni continue to be tormented by the creepy Julian doll, which seems to be wreaking havoc in Cheryl’s home. This is not the only thing she has to worry about; however, as her creepy Aunt Cricket and Uncle Bedford show up, asking Cheryl to consider selling the business and house.

Toni reminds Cheryl that this might be their chance to get a fresh start and she’s right, but Cheryl doesn’t want to hear anything else once her aunt and uncle want to go down to the chapel, anxious to protect Jason.

Later on, Uncle Bedford discovers Jason’s body and threatens to have her committed so that they can take over the business, but Cheryl is not about to go out quietly. After he attacks Cheryl, Toni steps in once again to save her beloved and knocks Uncle Bedford out.

Did Toni just kill Uncle Bedford? I’m not sure, but it looks like Choni may be in for some more trouble. Perhaps Nana Rose can help out here…

“The text doesn’t lie.”

After experiencing some writer’s block, Jughead uncovers that his grandfather actually wrote the first Baxter mystery book and Mr. DuPont took credit for it. Mr. DuPont is not pleased with these accusations and threatens Jughead quite a bit.

Jughead doesn’t stay quiet; however, and asks Mr. Chipping for help, who seems more than willing to set the record straight.

During a seminar, Mr. Chipping tells Jughead that he’s sorry he wasn’t able to help him and jumps out the window. As if this wasn’t strange enough, Jughead’s classmates just sit there staring like nothing is wrong.

What the hell is going on at Stonewall Prep?

Is Mr. Chipping dead?

Is Mr. DuPont Jughead’s potential killer?

I’m not sure, but he is certainly not going to make things easy for Jughead, especially now that he will be taking over the class. It looks like Jughead may need some backup. Don’t forget to kiss your wonderful girlfriend, Betty! You need her!

“Why would I lie at this point?”

Betty continues to try and get some answers about Charles and even goes to visit an old enemy…Chic. Chic is in jail and is actually pretty forthcoming with Betty, telling her all about Charles’s darkness and how he apparently stabbed someone to death with scissors while on Jingle Jangle.

Betty confronts Charles and has him take a polygraph test, learning that he has been hiding that he is an addict. After Chic threatens to incriminate Alice by revealing where the body of the Shady Man is, Charles helps FP and says that everything is OK now.

Charles has earned Betty’s trust, but we then see him visiting Chic at the end of the episode. Charles and Chic seem to be romantically involved and it looks like Chic was working under Charles’s instruction here, but let’s hope that Betty can uncover the truth before it’s too late.

Now that we know that Charles absolutely has something to hide, what does he want from his new family?

Even though suspects are emerging in every episode in Jughead’s future potential murder, we can’t ignore the darkness in Charles. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 4: “Atomic Monsters”

Happy Friday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 4, Chuck reminded us that writers can do anything, but will the fans be satisfied with his ending for Supernatural? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Atomic Monsters,” Sam continues to struggle with his grief while Dean attempts to get him back on track with a new case. Meanwhile, Chuck seeks out guidance from his number one fan and ends up writing the end of the Supernatural story. My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 4 are:

“Closer than you think…”

In the beginning of the episode, Dean channels his inner John Wick and starts taking out threats left and right, proving that he may have a future in action movies. Things get even more weird when Benny shows up, signaling that this is definitely some kind of dream or hallucination.

I’ve always been a fan of Benny’s character and it was a welcomed cameo, but Dean has a lot to deal with when Sam appears to be the threat he has been searching for.

Sam wakes up in a cold sweat and we learn that it is actually his nightmare, but is this a foreshadowing of what’s to come in Chuck’s dark story? Let’s hope not!

“She knew what needed to be done.”

After Dean tries to cheer Sam up with some bacon, he reminds Sam that Rowena knew what she was doing. Even though this may be true, it certainly doesn’t make things any easier for the Winchesters, so Dean decides that it’s time for them to go on a case together.

Sam initially doesn’t want to go, but Dean thinks it’s important to keep him busy, recognizing the pain that his brother is in.

“Somebody’s got a fetish…”

For dead cheerleaders that is, as Sam and Dean head off to Beaverdale High School to track down a vampire who has been picking cheerleaders off one by one. After an extreme overreaction from some parents of a football star, Sam and Dean suspect that the father is the vampire, but we find out that it is actually the son.

His parents have been trying to protect him, which brings up some unresolved feelings about Jack, but Sam and Dean are both impressed that the son recognizes what needs to be done, saying goodbye to his parents and going off with Sam and Dean so that he can be eliminated as a threat once and for all.

“You have to write…”

Chuck decides to visit his number one fan, Becky, desperately trying to figure out what his next move should be. Chuck is clearly lost, but Becky reminds him that he should write, not realizing that she may have just created an even greater threat by recommending this.

Chuck begins writing again about Sam and Dean and actually writes a very dark ending after some constructive criticism from Becky, which leads to Chuck turning a dangerous corner as well. So, what does this ending entail and will the fans be satisfied with it?

The Pop Sam and Dean figurines are nodding yes, but I have a feeling that the Winchester brothers may need to fight for a more hopeful ending. We’ll have to see how this all plays out, but I’m concerned for our beloved Sam and Dean!

“We are finally free to move on.”

We get our weekly recap with Sam and Dean discussing their next moves, as Dean reminds Sam that they should still do the job for Jack, Mom, and Rowena. Sam is clearly still feeling lost and broken, but Dean tells him that they are finally free to move on without Chuck getting in their way. Except we know that Chuck has just written a very dark ending for the Winchesters, so they may not be free just yet…

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 5: The Perfect Murder

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching the CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 5, I learned that “every town gets the hero it deserves,” but what happens when that town is surrounded by darkness? Do the villains reign without consequences or will one hero be enough to bring back the light? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Sixty-Two: Witness for the Prosecution,” Betty revisits her past after discovering that she has the Serial Killer gene. Meanwhile, Veronica attempts to help her mother before her trial and Jughead learns more about his grandfather. My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 5 are:

“A declaration of war.”

Archie continues to try out being the new masked vigilante in town, but it seems that he has a major Dodger problem. Dodger is blackmailing some of the neighbors and Archie is getting complaints about his community center as a result.

FP gives Archie some advice and reminds him that he went through something similar with the Serpents. Archie invites a lot of the town down to the community center so that they can see what he is doing for the community for themselves and even announces a Big Brother, Big Sister effort.

It seems like Archie is doing the right thing here, but Dodger is not willing to let things go and we know how stubborn Archie can be.

Is it the right move for Archie to declare war on the local thugs though? Perhaps he needs some backup…Mad Dog as a sidekick?

“Bring honor to our name.”

Jughead is beyond excited when he finds out that his teacher is actually one of the ghost writers for his favorite mystery book series, Baxter Brother Mysteries. After going through the books with Betty, we know that the books are loosely based on The Hardy Boys, as Betty even makes mention of crossover books with a Nancy Drew imitation.

There is a contest to see who will be the next ghost writer for the series and of course Jughead is determined to win. Only his fellow classmates are not making things easy for him, constantly putting him down and making him feel out of place.

Jughead discovers that his grandfather also attended Stonewall Prep and was a writer too, which gives him some more motivation. FP is not exactly thrilled about this since he doesn’t have the fondest memories of his own father, but he tells Jughead to bring honor to their name, recognizing the talent and potential within his son.

We know that the theme for the story challenge will be “A Perfect Murder,” which got me wondering about Jughead’s own supposed murder in the future. Did someone use a story idea to carry out a murder on Jughead? We’ll have to wait and see!

“Our father needed help.”

Our father? Yes, you heard right, as Hermosa Lodge makes a splash in Riverdale. Hermosa is supposedly a private investigator and she has bugged Veronica’s place of work, making a case to get all charges dropped against her father. Hermosa is absolutely a Lodge and has the style to match Veronica’s, but will Veronica be able to face off against both her and her father?

The plan works and Hiram is now running for mayor, which should shake things up even more in town.

It looks like Hermione will be pardoned by the governor, so the Lodge family should be reunited shortly, but I’m intrigued to find out more about Veronica’s sister. After all, this is the first time Veronica is hearing about her, but she looks like she could be the new dangerous player in town.

“Your intuition is like a sixth sense.”

Betty recruits Kevin to join her in junior FBI class and she shows off how well she knows serial killers. Kevin hilariously points out that she’s like “A Beautiful Mind, but for serial killers.” Betty gets thrown off when she learns about the Serial Killer gene; however, discovering that she does in fact have the gene.

She begins to flash back to some traumatic memories and even remembers killing her cat, Caramel, to put her out of her misery. This was all under her father’s instruction and Charles reveals that he apparently also has this gene. He tells Betty that she can use this to keep the darkness in check, but it looks like our girl Betty is never really off the case.

Toward the end of the episode, Betty reveals her own suspicions about Charles, wondering if he is the new serial killer in town and it looks like she isn’t going to back down until she gets some answers. Go Betty!

“The perfect murder…”

As if this wasn’t enough of a cliffhanger, we also flash forward to the future and witness Betty, Archie, and Veronica being arrested by FP for the murder of his son, which leaves me with even more questions. We know that our favorite characters were searching for Jughead in the woods, but are they really capable of killing their best friend?

Is someone framing them?

Is Jughead faking his own death to coincide with his story for the Baxter Murder series? Stay tuned!
