My performance of the week ending 5/30/20 on TV goes to…

Marie Avgeropoulos as Octavia Blake on The CW’s The 100.

Let’s talk about one of the most brilliant and incredible character transformations on a television series of all time. The quiet girl under the floor has stepped out of her big brother’s shadow, embracing love, heartache, leadership, loss, and happiness. While a lot of the attention still centers around Clarke, Octavia has quickly become the heart and soul of The 100 and season 7, episode 2 is another great example of this.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up on season 7.

It’s not easy finding your way, especially when you grew up as a secret. Octavia only really knew Bellamy as her family, but she quickly became a reliable member of the group once our favorite characters made it down to earth.

After experiencing life out in the open with brand new eyes, Octavia met the love of her life, Lincoln. Their love was beautiful and transcendent of everything else around them, but Lincoln was killed in front of her, which was one of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire series for me.

Octavia and Lincoln The 100 CW

Octavia turned her grief into strength and trained with Indra to become an unstoppable warrior. She was driven by revenge and eventually shattered her moral compass when she became the leader of Wonkru…Blodreina. Remember that familiar chant?

Octavia Blake The 100 CW 1

“You are Wonkru or you are the enemy of Wonkru. Choose…”

Well, it’s not much of a choice when the alternative is death, but Blodreina transformed into a ruthless leader, but there were still glimmers of humanity within her. We later discovered that Octavia took on all of the burden so that no one else had to. As much as you wanted to hate her for her actions, you couldn’t.

Bellamy has always been able to bring Octavia back, but after their huge fallout, Octavia seemed truly alone. Her friendship with Diyoza allowed her to head down a path toward redemption as she stumbled across the mysterious anomaly.

After watching season 7, episode 2, Marie Avgeropoulos had me in tears once again. Her letter to Bellamy was so heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. Octavia has finally learned what it means to love again, bonding with Diyoza and her daughter, Hope. Even though she has a new family, she still holds Bellamy close to her heart and wants him to know that she now understands.

Octavia and Bellamy The 100 CW

This was such a huge moment for Octavia as a character. Through it all, she finally is able to recognize her mistakes and redeem herself to become someone others can always count on.

What’s next for Octavia? This is the final season of the series so it will be interesting to see if Octavia’s journey toward self-discovery is almost done. I’d love to see a reunion between her and Bellamy, but I also have a feeling that she may sacrifice everything to save him and her friends, which would make her an eternal hero. I’d also love to see another flashback or memory with Lincoln because it truly was the ultimate love story of the series.

Either way, I am so beyond impressed with Marie Avgeropoulos as an actress. She channels so much strength into her character and has shown us so many sides of Octavia. Some of them have been good and some of them have been on the other side of the spectrum, but everything she pours into her character is compelling and disturbingly real.

I can’t wait to see how it all ends and I will be an Octavia Blake fan for life!

May we meet again.

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 7 episode 2: “The Garden”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s The 100 season 7 episode 2, I was reminded that “teamwork makes the dream work,” but oftentimes we still need to see things through on our own.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “The Garden,” we finally learn about the anomaly in the past and present. Octavia’s fate is revealed while we discover more about Hope and where she comes from.

My top 5 moments from The 100 season 7 episode 2 are:

5

“What took you so long?”

Well, apparently time is pretty relative in the anomaly. You can be in the anomaly for years and only be gone on Sanctum for about five minutes. This makes time travel seem like a piece of cake compared to this vortex of uncertainty.

The episode presents us with flashbacks from when Octavia went through the anomaly and also allows us to catch up with Echo, Gabriel, and Hope in the somewhat present or future? Yeah, I’m still piecing that together.

Either way, the beginning of the episode gives us some hope, (pun intended) as Octavia catches up with Diyoza and helps her while she is in labor. We get this heartwarming moment where Octavia sees Hope for the first time and it’s clear that there is an unbreakable bond between this unlikely family.

The 100 7 2 1 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

I’m glad to see that Diyoza is OK, although her present fate is still undetermined.

4

“What is it about Bellamy?”

A fair question for sure! Bellamy is just that guy that you can depend on. Even when he shuns you completely, you know that you must have done something to earn that. Bellamy is loyal and trustworthy. Octavia is focused on letting him know that she finally understands and Echo reminds us that she can kick a lot of ass to find him.

The 100 7 2 2 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

Seriously, Echo is becoming one of my favorite characters. I’m not sure when this happened, but I’m worried about her fate now.

We still do not know Bellamy’s fate, but I think it’s safe to say that if he has this many people asking about his well being, he’s probably OK. Besides, I’m still waiting for my epic Bellarke moment!!!!

3

“This is my way out.”

As we witness Octavia’s new life, we learn that she has really connected with Diyoza and Hope. Even though Bellamy will always be her family, she has another family now and Diyoza tries to remind her of this.

The 100 7 2 3 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

However, Octavia is still determined to find a way back to Sanctum to help and warn Bellamy. She tries to swim toward the light, but can’t hold her breath long enough to reach it. After finding a suit that may be able to help her, Diyoza sabotages the helmet.

Diyoza recognizes that Octavia or “Aunty O” is an important influence in Hope’s life and she doesn’t want to lose her.

Gotta say that “Blodreina” may have had a catchier ring, but Octavia can certainly rock “Aunty O” too!

2

“Welcome to Skyring.”

We have another planet in The 100 realm and it has a catchy name for sure. In somewhat present day, Echo, Gabriel, and Hope try to track down clues and learn that the anomaly may be a bridge between worlds.

The 100 7 2 4 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

We also find out about the scary guys chasing them who are named The Disciples.

But who are The Disciples and what do they want? It looks like we will have to wait a little longer to find out more information on them.

Hope casually mentions that they will have to wait five years before they can return, but Echo doesn’t think that’s an acceptable answer.

After Gabriel finds a potential code that will help them escape, a deranged man who has been living in Skyring destroys it because nothing can be easy on The 100.

We certainly got a lot of explanations surrounding the anomaly, but it looks like we still have a lot of mystery remaining.

1

“I understand…”

Once again, we witness the incredible and brilliant transformation of Octavia’s character. The girl under the floor has seen it all. She displayed strength then and went through an unimaginable loss when she watched Lincoln die in front of her.

After that, she trained until she became a fierce warrior and lost herself as Blodreina.

After trying to make amends, Octavia has finally found a peace within her. With Diyoza and Hope’s help, Octavia has finally released the darkness that was weighing her down, but she can’t fully embrace her true identity until she lets Bellamy know that she understands.

She writes this beautiful and moving letter to him, hoping that he will somehow see it one day. She says, “I wish I could see your face and tell you that I get it now.” Octavia recognizes that she might be old or dead by the time Bellamy sees the letter and tells him that she did find happiness and wants Bellamy to be happy too.

Octavia Blake has truly transformed over this series and I can’t wait to see how it all ends.

Now back to Sanctum in our next episode…

May we meet again.

Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 7 episode 1: “From the Ashes”

Happy Thursday TV fans! The wait is over and the final season is here! After watching The CW’s The 100 season 7 episode 1 season premiere, I was reminded that “none of this makes any sense, but my god, it’s incredible!” Our favorite characters may all be on new paths now, but as Indra hilariously pointed out: “new world…same problems.”

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

In last night’s episode, “From the Ashes,” Clarke is ready to put an end to violence on Sanctum, but has she really taken a moment to deal with her own grief? Meanwhile, Bellamy, Echo, and Gabriel deal with Hope and the anomaly.

My top 5 moments from The 100 season 7 episode 1 season premiere are:

5

“There’s never been an ex commander…”

Well, I suppose there is a first time for everything. Creepy Sheidheda may be gone from Madi, but so is the flame. Only Madi is not aware of that fact. Everyone is determined to keep up appearances so they can maintain the peace, but it’s only a matter of time before everything falls apart.

After all, this is The 100. Everyone assumes that Sheidheda is gone, but we know that he’s going to rear his creepy head again soon. Either way, it was nice to see Madi enjoying some normalcy in a real home with a dog.

The 100 season 7 episode 1 The CW

I’m not sure that she can hold on to that childhood innocence for much longer though.

4

“To Abby.”

Everyone takes a moment to mourn the loss of Abby, but I’m not sure that Clarke has fully dealt with anything. Meanwhile, Murphy starts to develop a serious case of remorse, blaming himself for Abby’s death.

The 100 7 1 2 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

Raven reminds Murphy and Emori that they need to keep up appearances and pretend to be Primes which leads to a great performance from one of my favorite couples, but I’m not sure that everyone is buying it.

3

“Trust Bellamy.”

Of course we trust Bellamy, but Diyoza’s grown up daughter, Hope, reads this message as she enters Sanctum from the anomaly.

The 100 7 1 3 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

After Bellamy and Echo get separated, Echo shows off just how bad-ass she can be. I have to say that I am really liking her character development, but I still need her to move aside so I can finally have my Bellarke moment.

With the help of Gabriel and Hope, Echo takes down an invisible threat and the three of them head off into the anomaly to see if they can find Octavia.

The anomaly plot may be the most complicated one on the show, but my biggest question is:

Where are Bellamy and Octavia?

I just hope we don’t have to wait until the end of the series to see Bellamy reunited with Clarke…

2

“You take a breath and then another.”

That’s actually really great advice, Clarke, but “why are you protecting the man who killed your mother?” Clarke seems focused on putting an end to war and violence on Sanctum, but this is easier said than done.

Everyone wants Russell to burn, but Clarke keeps him alive. Only Russell continues to push some buttons when he hands Clarke her mother’s things, sparking her emotions and grief within her.

The 100 7 1 4 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

Clarke loses control and begins beating up Russell as she screams, “Is this what you want?” Meanwhile, creepy Sheidheda now has control of Russell and is clearly up to no good.

I can’t say that I really blame Clarke, but we now have a new problem…Sheidheda.

1

“Sanctum is free!”

Is it though? Clarke makes this big speech and declaration after her encounter with Russell. She says that Russell will burn for his crimes, as her friends watch in confusion. Clarke is going down a very dangerous path and I don’t think that her mother would approve.

Maybe we need Bellamy to get her back on track…

Either way, this was a jam-packed season premiere and I can’t wait to see how the show ends. I am really hoping we finally get a real and true Bellarke moment that I can ship. Fingers crossed!!!!!

May we meet again.

Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The 100 in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 19: “Killing Mr. Honey”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 19 season finale, we “blurred the line between fact and fiction,” but are we left with a threat or a rehearsal for actual murder?

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Seventy-Six: Killing Mr. Honey,” the gang is outraged by Mr. Honey’s restrictions on the prom and decide to get creative. Meanwhile, Jughead’s story takes on a life of its own, as we inch closer to the truth.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 19 are:

5

“Something must be done to stop this heinous villain.”

Mr. Honey is certainly not very popular in Riverdale among his students, as he bans the majority of them from the prom. After Mr. Honey also refuses to approve Betty’s late yearbook submission, war is basically declared.

The group decides to teach Mr. Honey a lesson, leading to a few creative ideas on how to actually execute this…

4

“Is it took dark?”

Maybe not, Jughead, but your story does remind me of something…Killing Mr. Griffin by Lois Duncan. For those of you who have never read this, I highly recommend it if you enjoyed Jughead’s initial story during the episode.

Jughead finds out that a college in Iowa may accept him, but he needs to submit another story. Jughead is basically all tapped out, but Betty sparks some new ideas. Jughead begins to create the story of “Killing Mr. Honey,” as the pages are created before our very eyes.

Riverdale season 4 episode 19 1 The CW

We witness what could have actually happened if the group decided to kidnap Mr. Honey, which could have led to some unforeseen consequences. It was entertaining though!

3

“The Grinch that stole prom.”

After the group decides to play an immature prank on Mr. Honey in reality, leading to him literally sticking to everything in his office, he is far from amused. He cancels the prom, but our group is not ready to take this decision lightly.

They recruit their parents and we get this amazing scene featuring Alice, Hermione, and Mary leading the way, as they stand up for their children and are successful.

Mission accomplished!

2

“Don’t mess with us in our own town.”

After a new tape is discovered, featuring the halls of Riverdale High, Betty detects Mr. Honey’s reflection and blows the whistle on him. Mr. Honey’s is a copycat and is forced out of Riverdale High, but it looks like he already has a secure job waiting for him at Stonewall Prep.

Coincidence?

Mr. Honey tries to explain that he was just trying to help them prepare for a life outside of Riverdale, but the gang seems unwilling to buy it. Later on, the school secretary sheds some light and explains that Mr. Honey was the best principal. She gives Jughead a letter that he was sending to Iowa and we discover that Mr. Honey was actually supporting Jughead and the rest of the students.

His measures may have been extreme, but the death toll was down and college acceptance was up, proving that perhaps he did have the best of intentions for the Riverdale students. Jughead decides to change his story and have the students save Mr. Honey, but is it too late?

It looks like Mr. Honey may have been ruled out as a suspect after all, but then who is still sending the creepy tapes and what is their end game?

1

“Maybe it’s an invitation…”

Bughead takes a minute to talk things through toward the end of the episode and Jellybean delivers another tape. They think that the tape is at Veronica’s cabin and decide to take a drive out there to investigate.

After stumbling upon a room with old camera equipment, it’s clear that someone has been staying there. Another tape is waiting and they witness the gang in masks pretending to stab a masked Mr. Honey in a chair, similar to Jughead’s original story.

Riverdale season 4 episode 19 3 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

So, who is the culprit behind the tapes? We’ll have to wait and see, as episode 19 will now serve as the season finale. We were originally supposed to get three more episodes of season 4 and the acting finale certainly didn’t have the same feel as past season finales, but I’m intrigued to find out more.

Suspects? Theories? Feel free to comment below with your thoughts on the episode and what’s next for our favorite Riverdale residents.

Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 18: “Dear Diary”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 18, we took a trip down memory lane, as Betty remembered what it felt like to fall in love with the boy next door. But sometimes that love is just a fantasy and what’s really important is what has been in front of you the entire time.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Seventy-Five: Lynchian,” Barchie contemplates taking their feelings to the next level, but will they follow through? Meanwhile, Jughead continues to investigate the creepy VHS tapes and a new suspect is revealed.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 18 are:

5

“I want in…”

Apparently we are running out of story ideas for Reggie, as he tells Kevin and Fangs that he wants in on their tickle operation. I honestly forgot about this plot, but Kevin agrees and Reggie is ready to prove his worth in this…endurance sport?

Riverdale 4 18 1 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

Things get complicated when Reggie convinces Kevin to cut out Terry so that they can run their own operation and keep all the profits, which leads to an interesting Vixens/Bulldogs tickle extravaganza, but Terry shows off just how terrifying he can be.

Did you guys really think he would sit there quietly why you stole his idea and kept the profits?

4

“Veronica Lodge and Cheryl Blossom do not back down from a fight.”

Inspiring words for sure, but Veronica may be in over her head here. After she begins to corner the college market with their maple rum, a local family warns her that she is cutting into their business.

The Malloy family trashes the place after they leave and Hiram decides to pay one of them a visit. He doesn’t shoot him and ends up getting badly beaten, but I’m not sure that Daddy Dearest has changed as much as you think, Veronica.

Cheryl wants out of the business and Veronica is proud of her father. Only we cut to a scene where Hiram goes back and kills Mr. Malloy.

Did he just start another feud in Riverdale? Has he just endangered his family even more? We’ll have to wait and see…

3

“You’ll find what you’re looking for…”

Charles and Jughead are still on the case, determined to find out who is behind the creepy VHS tapes. Ethel Muggs seems to be the prime suspect, but Jughead has his doubts. After looking into things further, Jughead has a theory that perhaps they are looking for a filmmaker.

Riverdale 4 18 2 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

They head to a 24 hour old video store, which features the “Scarlet Suite.” It is a back room that has different VHS tapes that have been traded or dropped off. Jughead and Betty’s “Ponytail Playmate” was there along with a video of Mr. Blossom killing Jason.

After Ethel explains that she kept the sex tape to prevent anyone else from seeing it, Jughead rules her out, but it looks like this secret room has been inspiring some ill thoughts for quite a while.

2

“Why are we here?”

A fair question for sure, as Betty and Archie start to truly think about what their lives would be like if they were together. Betty and Archie both admit to being in love with their current partners, but they also feel this magnetic connection toward one another.

Betty reads through her old diary and Archie writes a song, but after some wise words from Cheryl, Betty realizes that perhaps they just feel safe with one another because everything is changing.

Riverdale 4 18 3 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

They agree to put a pause on these feelings so it looks like Barchie may be off the table…for now.

But with all these secret videos, it may only be a matter of time before some of their secret kisses are shown to Jughead and Veronica. Let’s hope no one gets hurt…

1

“It’s probably for the best…”

After Terry informs Mr. Honey about the tickle fight, he shows just how much of a nemesis he can be. Only, it may not be all talk. At the end of the episode, Cheryl receives a video similar to Jughead’s. People in masks mock the Cliff/Jason video and we see Mr. Honey at the video store.

We know that Mr. Honey and Cheryl have been clashing for a while, but is he the one behind the tapes? It’s looking that way, but we know that there’s always another twist around the corner in Riverdale…

Either way, it looks like Mr. Honey may be far from sweet, but is he a match for our favorite characters in Riverdale?

Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 17: “Wicked Little Town”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 17, we were reminded that “Riverdale was and is a wicked little town.” The creepy VHS tapes are back, but they take a back seat to The Variety Show, as we sit back and enjoy another musical themed episode.

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town,” Bughead and Varchie both hit a snag, but is it enough to bring another ship together? Meanwhile, Kevin stands up for his right to perform a song from “Hedwig,” but Mr. Honey is not exactly pleased.

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 17 are:

5

“This is not your business.”

Archie has some concerns when he sees Hiram working out at his gym. Hiram pretends that he is perfectly fine and is clearly frustrated that Veronica told Archie about his condition, but Hiram is a proud man and is not about to show his weakness to anyone.

Later on, Veronica and Archie have a fight when she finds out that he didn’t say anything or take him to the doctor. Archie tries to tell Veronica that sometimes there is no reasoning with her father, but it looks like these two are heading in different directions…

4

“I think you should go rogue.”

Kevin is outraged when Mr. Honey informs him that he is not allowed to perform a song from the controversial “Hedwig” for the variety show. Kevin stands up for himself and reminds Mr. Honey that many students are “screaming on the inside” and that they are people, not numbers.

Luckily Kevin has the support of his friends and classmates, as he decides to “go rogue” and give a surprise performance during the day. The performance is out of this world, but Mr. Honey is far from amused.

3

“It is not a sleepover without greasy pizza.”

Well said, Betty! I don’t know about you, but I always love a Riverdale sleepover party and this one is certainly a lot of fun.

Riverdale 4 17 1 The CW
Images courtesy of The CW

Kev is unsure if a “makeover montage” can really help, but I think it’s safe to say that it does the trick and this was my favorite musical number of the episode. More please!

2

“We urge you to hear our plea.”

Cheryl promises Kevin that she will talk some sense into Mr. Honey, which leads to another fantastic musical number featuring the Vixens. Mr. Honey does not approve of Cheryl’s sugary sweet number and reminds her that he doesn’t want to promote “highly sexualized” performances and even has the audacity to hit Cheryl with her own catch phrase…“toodles!”

Riverdale 4 17 The CW 2
Images courtesy of The CW

Mr. Honey says that if anyone performs a song from “Hedwig,” they will be banned from prom, which ignites a peaceful protest. Of course, Mr. Honey counters with canceling the variety show. It’s clear he is not going down without a fight…

1

“The show must go on…”

The moment we have all been waiting for…a Barchie kiss?! I can’t say that I am really surprised since several hints have been thrown our way, but after the clash between both Varchie and Bughead in this episode, Betty and Archie confide in one another and end up sharing a secretive, passionate kiss.

Later on, Jughead and Veronica apologize, leaving Betty and Archie staring at each other from their bedroom windows, understanding that they can’t pursue their desires, but it’s only a matter of time before this potential romance can set all of their friendships on fire…

Either way, the show must go on and “The Archies” put on a fantastic performance at Pop’s for all of their friends and family.

Riverdale 4 17 The CW 3
Images courtesy of The CW

Even Mr. Honey makes it to the show, but Jughead brings us back to the plot, staring out at all of the cameras, wondering who is really sending the creepy tapes?

We are left with a disturbing tape of someone dressed as Betty and Jughead, as Betty cracks Jughead’s head open with a rock. This threat should be taken seriously, but it looks like we will have to wait until April 29th for another new episode.

So, who is sending the tapes? Could Charles or Chic be behind this, someone from The Farm or someone completely new? I can’t wait to find out!

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Riverdale in the comments section below. Thank you so much for reading and happy viewing!

My performance of the week ending 4/11/20 on TV goes to…

Kennedy McMann as Nancy Drew on The CW’s Nancy Drew.

It’s not easy playing an iconic character like Nancy Drew, especially when so many other actresses have taken a whirl at it. However, Kennedy McMann is starting to make some waves with her portrayal and in a very good way!

**Please note some spoilers are ahead, but major ones have been left out for your convenience.**

When I first heard that we would be getting a new Nancy Drew series, I was beyond excited. The show originally premiered right after Riverdale and I thought it was going to quickly become my new favorite show. However, I had some reservations about it initially and I wasn’t really sure how I felt about the new Nancy.

Nancy Drew The CW 3
Images courtesy of The CW

Sure, there is a maturity to this Nancy and a teenage drama angst that we often find on shows on The CW, but I was really hoping for a spark that would lure me in and I didn’t initially find it. However, I am so happy that I stuck around because the series got better and better as it went on.

The mysteries are so intriguing and they really keep you on the edge of your seat and Nancy has really grown and developed as a character, impressing me so much. Kennedy McMann has been channeling all the right emotions while keeping her sleuth skills up to par.

In the most recent episodes, we got quite a shock about Nancy’s identity and her connection to Lucy Sable, which still has my head spinning. The reveal was quite rewarding and now I am more invested than ever. Part of that is because Kennedy McMann has been beyond fantastic and I can’t stop watching her.

Nancy Drew The CW 2

While I initially thought she was moody and self deprecating, she is now using her inner turmoil to become a force of nature herself. It’s going to take Nancy some time to adjust to everything going on, but the supernatural presence in town is not about to let her off that easy.

I’m also much more interested in Nancy’s new relationships, although things may get even more complicated after that major cliffhanger at the end of episode 17. While I originally felt like Nancy’s relationship was forced upon us with Nick, she has been making her own choices now, allowing her to truly discover her sense of self worth.

What’s next for Nancy? Well, she has to deal with the new supernatural threat before it claims her and her friends, but I know that our girl Nancy will not stop until she finds a way to defeat it.

Now that we know Nancy’s true identity, she also has to come to terms with who she is and what kind of relationship she wants with her family and friends.

I’m looking forward to more adventures with Nancy Drew and I am so happy that I decided to stick around and give this show a chance after initially having some doubts.

Sometimes it takes a show a little while to find its identity, especially when it has many predecessors. However, with each new episode, Nancy Drew is finally giving off that spark I was looking for and Kennedy McMann is at the very center of it.

Stay tuned for a recognized performance on TV each week!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 13: “Destiny’s Child”

Happy Tuesday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 13, I remembered that being dead tends to never really stick on our favorite show. You could be almost dead or really dead, but there’s always a loophole…

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Destiny’s Child,” Sam and Dean take a trip down to Hell to find the Occultum. Meanwhile, Castiel decides to take extreme measures to contact an old fan favorite, but she’s not alone…

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 13 are:

5

“Dean…Sam? Sam…Dean?”

Things get a little confusing when Chuck begins to destroy worlds, as Sam and Dean come face to face with another version of themselves after a rift opens. This Sam and Dean are very different in some ways and reveal that they actually get paid to hunt monsters. Sign me up for Hunter Corp!

When Sam and Dean plan to go down to Hell, they decide to bring the other Sam and Dean into their world to keep up appearances in case Chuck/God checks in on them. Other Sam is sporting a man bun and other Dean likes collared shirts, but they get an interesting day in the life of the real Sam and Dean, bringing us some much needed humor along the way.

I’m not sure they should have touched Dean’s car though…

4

“Pray with Sister Jo!”

Sister Jo is back and she’s not alone. We discover that Sam and Dean require something called the occultum in order to face Chuck/God. Sister Jo apparently knows where it is, but claims that Ruby had it last, leading to some welcomed flashbacks of one of our favorite demons.

Supernatural The CW 13 2

Ruby apparently stashed the occultum somewhere in Hell, which leads to a field trip that screams trap, but Castiel has a feeling that Sister Jo is withholding some key information.

I loved the scenes between Sister Jo and Ruby and it was fun to see the girls really take over in this episode.

3

“I don’t feel things the way I used to.”

Jack is also going through quite a lot in this episode as he opens up to Castiel, explaining that he realizes that things have changed since he returned. Jack wonders if Dean will ever forgive him for what happened to Mary and Castiel sheds some light on Dean, really reminding us just how well he knows him.

Dean sometimes runs on a short fuse, but the feelings are always there and he may just need a lot of time to truly work this out.

2

“Go get her, Pizza Man!”

The pizza man is back! Well, we do get a fun flashback reminder before the episode starts, but The Empty makes a special appearance posing as Meg when Castiel tries to contact Ruby. Jack helps Castiel become “almost dead” so that he can get some answers, but The Empty seems to have an agenda of her own.

Supernatural The CW 3

Castiel does get to talk to Ruby, who reveals where the occultum is, explaining that it is actually a place. However, she does want something in return. Castiel agrees to find a way to get her out of there, as we are reminded that The Empty is actually quite full.

We know that The Empty is still a threat to Castiel, even though he hasn’t experienced this moment of happiness. However, The Empty is on death’s side, which means that the Winchesters have another enemy to deal with.

I absolutely loved seeing both Meg and Ruby and thought this was a fun way to bring back some of our fan favorites for the last season.

Still waiting on Crowley though…

1

“Who are you meant to be?”

After heading to the occultum, the guys run into some trouble with hellhounds. Sam tries to keep them out of the church, as Jack decides to swallow the occultum based on the instructions. Jack ends up traveling to “The Garden,” which apparently has not been done in almost forever.

Jack taps into something and when he returns, his soul is back as well. Jack breaks down about what he did to Mary and begs Sam and Dean for forgiveness, which was absolutely heartbreaking to witness.

Jack is back, but he has also traveled to the garden so we don’t know if there are any side effects from this. It’s clear that he is they key to stopping Chuck/God, but will his soul get in the way of him doing what needs to be done?

Stay tuned SPN Family!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” Season 15 Episode 12: “Galaxy Brain”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Supernatural season 15 episode 12, I remembered that sometimes less is more, but is canceling shows really the answer to Chuck’s problems?

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In tonight’s episode, “Galaxy Brain,” Sam and Dean attempt to figure out their next move while Jody ends up in trouble. Meanwhile, Chuck/God grows tired of the other worlds while the Winchesters risk everything to protect an innocent.

My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 15 episode 12 are:

5

“I trust Jack…”

“Trust is a strong word,” but Sam and Dean are running out of options to stop Chuck/God. Billie seems to know what she’s talking about most of the time and we know that Jack has good intentions, but it’s clear that Sam and Dean are treading lightly here.

Jack cannot use his powers or he will alert Chuck, but can he control himself now that he is back in the real world? Let’s hope so.

4

“If you don’t come, I’m dead.”

Meanwhile, Jody runs into some trouble as well and makes a call to the Winchesters to help her out of a jam. It’s always good to see Jody and as we approach the end of the series, I hope we get some more screen time for her because it brings back so much SPN nostalgia.

It was also amazing to see Jody finally meet Castiel and I thought the chat about Claire was truly touching.

3

“She haunts me.”

Jody is not the only one to return in this episode, as we learn that Dark Kaia is responsible for holding her captive. She tells Sam and Dean that Jack can get her back to her world, but they are not initially too inclined to help her after she holds their friend against her will.

SPN The CW 2

Dark Kaia reveals that her world is dying and that she has been having some prophetic nightmares, revealing that the real Kaia is actually still alive and trapped in her world.

We know that Chuck is looking to potentially shut down all other worlds so they better get Kaia out of there quick. After all, they’re running out of time…

2

“I don’t belong in your world.”

Even though the Winchesters are risking exposure to save one life, they are not about to leave an innocent behind. They return to Dark Kaia’s world, which is just as ominous as I remember. Kaia is saved and Dark Kaia decides to stay, even though it doesn’t look like her world is going to last much longer.

Jack and Kaia have a nice chat and we learn that nursery rhymes can get you through quite a lot.

It seems that all is well and Chuck has not been alerted, but another surprise guest is about to make her own appearance with killer style.

1

“I see the big picture…”

Billie shows up and takes out the reaper who has been spying on Jack, but good news never seems to travel along with her. Billie reveals that all the worlds are dying except for this one. Chuck is “wiping the slate clean” for the end, but Sam asks Billie what her end game is.

SPN The CW 1

Billie reveals that everyone has a book in death’s library…even Chuck/God. Apparently the books write themselves and no one can read their own books. Billie reminds Sam and Dean that this is their destiny. They are the messengers of God’s destruction, but is there a price that comes along with this destiny?

What’s inside Chuck’s book and how is it linked to the fate of the Winchesters?

We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but it looks like the glimmer of hope is increasing more and more now…even in the midst of the end of the world.

I hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on Supernatural in the comments section below.  Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” Season 4 Episode 16: “The Locked Room”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching The CW’s Riverdale season 4 episode 16, we were reminded that faking your own death is no simple task. Illusions can certainly take a toll, but is it all worth it in the end to solve the perfect murder?

Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet.

In last night’s episode, “Chapter Seventy-Three: The Locked Room,” Jughead and Betty are determined to wrap up the case once and for all. The mystery is solved, but there may be a few loose ends left after all…

My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 4 episode 16 are:

5

“Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.”

Jughead Jones channels his very own Mark Twain, revealing that he is actually alive to the Stonewall Prep cronies and Mr. DuPont. He’s not holding anything back anymore and he and Betty lock everyone in the room together, determined to get to the bottom of the mystery before they open the doors again.

We certainly get a lot of reveals jam-packed into this episode. We discover that the goal was to execute the perfect murder against him so that one of his classmates could obtain the contract to the Baxter Brother series.

Mr. Chipping’s role comes into play as we learn that Moose was the original target, but Mr. Chipping decided to get him out of there before anything happened to him. This is not the first time this formula of perfect murder has been put into place, as we learn that every single ghost writer for the Baxter Brothers series went through something similar and of course they are ready to lawyer up.

Our “friendly neighborhood doctor of death” played his part to make it look like Jughead was dead, which is something I had predicted earlier on so I was happy to confirm this theory.

As the pieces all come together, Bughead is ready to serve some justice. You should really never mess with the ultimate dynamic duo…

4

“Let’s loop back to the original sin.”

Good idea, Jughead! Even though the Stonewall Prep cronies are responsible for Jughead’s attempted murder, Mr. DuPont is far from innocent. We learn that he murdered his three classmates and made their deaths all look like accidents.

Any time someone got close to the truth, he took them out of his way. We learn that Jughead was brought into the mix because Mr. DuPont was trying to lure out his grandfather, Forsythe, to really tie up all loose ends.

Riverdale The CW 2

Well, Forsythe is “live and in the flesh,” as he shows up with FP to confront Mr. DuPont. It’s certainly over for Mr. DuPont, but he decides to jump out of the window to commit suicide rather than deal with the consequences of his own actions.

Seriously, they must fix that window a lot…

3

“The counter to your counter.”

Bret doesn’t seem too worried, ready to take a deal and lawyer up to protect himself, but Charles has another idea in mind. He leaves the room while FP and Jughead take over, serpent style.

Bret is beaten into a confession and it looks like he finally got what he deserved. This guy was asking for a punch every single time he opened his mouth.

So long, Bret! Hope to see you never!

2

“You wanted revenge.”

Even though Bret is beyond annoying, the real mastermind of the group has always been Donna. Our girl Betty pays Donna a visit, revealing that Donna’s grandmother was Jane Dallas Brown, one of the original classmates murdered by Mr. DuPont. In addition, we discover that Mr. DuPont stole the idea of Tracy True from her, explaining why Donna wanted to take over the series so much.

Donna initially doesn’t seem threatened by Betty, but Betty promises to leak this story to everyone if she doesn’t back down from the contract. After all, she can link this “entire web of death” back to her.

Tracy deserves better! Go Betty!

1

“Your secret’s safe with me.”

Even though the mystery is solved, Cheryl takes a moment to point out that the kiss between Betty and Archie looked pretty real. Betty assures her that it was all an act, but perhaps there was an unforeseen consequence to all of this.

Is there hope for Barchie or will Bughead continue to thrive?

Riverdale The CW 3

We’ll have to stay tuned to find out. The drama now moves toward the new variety show, as Archie decides to make another vow or toast to the group. Let’s see how this one works out…

New episodes return April 8th! Stay tuned!
