Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 5 episode 9: “Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching TV Land’s Younger season 5 episode 9, I remembered that there is no “I” in team. It may seem cliché, but after listening to the “Claw” book pitch, I started to really agree with Liza. You don’t have to sacrifice your own self-worth or ambition to help someone else, but it’s important to look out for those that matter most to us and to understand when compromise is necessary. Otherwise, it might be pretty lonely looking out for ourselves at the top. What’s truly important to you? Only you can answer that question, but I don’t think that there is anything wrong with knowing when to share the spotlight, especially when true friendship is involved. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Honk if You’re Horny,” Liza and Charles continue their secret relationship, but realize that they have an audience lurking around every corner. Meanwhile, Lauren discovers a secret about Enzo and Kelsey crosses a line at work. My top 5 moments from Younger season 5 episode 9 are:

“I am really sorry to be wasting your time…sir.”

Charles and Liza continue to grow closer and they decide to grab dinner at a quiet place on the Upper East Side. Everything seems to be going well until they run into the agent, Redmond, at the restaurant. When Redmond asks what they are doing together, both Liza and Charles panic. Liza practically throws the manuscript that Kelsey passed on at Charles to come up with a believable cover story and Redmond thinks he has it all figured out now. Rather than think that Liza and Charles are there together romantically, he jumps to the conclusion that Liza wanted Charles to look at the manuscript Kelsey passed on because she believes in it. Things are about to get beyond complicated, as Liza and Charles realize that they aren’t safe yet in public. Will their secret affair blow up in their faces or will they be able to finally figure out a way to have a normal relationship?

“How long have you two been repairing things with each other?”

Kelsey is beyond angry when she learns that Charles approved a manuscript that she passed on, feeling like he went right over her head. When she vents to Liza about it, Liza has no choice but to come clean about what happened. Kelsey does not react well to the news about Liza and Charles and says that she has a big problem with this. It seems like Kelsey is always stuck in the web of Liza’s deception, which can damage her reputation and her career. However, she does need to also realize that Liza’s relationship with Charles is personal and she doesn’t have a right to get involved. Will Liza and Kelsey’s friendship be able to handle another lie?

“Thank you Diva.”

In this episode, Lauren really puts her publicist skills to good use, as she lands Kelsey an award at the Glamour Women of the Year event. She tries to branch out and represent Diana as well and gets to meet Enzo for the first time. Lauren thinks that he looks oddly familiar, but can’t quite place it there. She later discovers that Enzo was in the first porno she ever saw and shows the video to both Kelsey and Josh. Enzo lets out a very distinct honking noise when he climaxes, which Josh comments on when he hilariously says, “yo that was primal.” Lauren feels that she owes Diana the truth even though Kelsey is hesitant about this. Lauren approaches Diana and tells her about it, but also reveals that she has taken care of getting every copy off of the internet. She gives Diana the last copy and Diana is beyond grateful and thrilled. It looks like Lauren is getting a new client after all. When Diana confronts Enzo about it, he explains that he comes with baggage just like anyone else and Diana accepts him completely. I have to say that I was initially worried about what secret Enzo might be hiding from Diana, but it looks like these two are really the perfect match. Now hopefully she can win over his mother as well.

“Nothing worth having comes easy.”

At the end of the episode, Charles explains to Liza that no one else can know about their relationship. He is going through a divorce and there is a lot at stake for both of them professionally. Liza understands and agrees to keep their relationship a secret, but it seems like it will only be a matter of time before a new challenge is thrown their way. While I am happy to see Liza and Charles finally together, I am still waiting for them to get their true moment of happiness together. Will they finally be able to step out in the spotlight together or is this a secret romance destined for disaster?

“I choose you.”

Kelsey crosses a line when she confronts Charles about accepting the manuscript she passed on and wants him to also approve the one she liked. After explaining that there might not be enough in the budget for both pieces, Kelsey says, “What if I got Liza to ask you over dinner or after dinner?” While Kelsey is still clearly upset about what Liza told her, this is a threat that Charles does not take lightly. Kelsey needs to remember that Charles is her boss and she has no right to meddle in his affairs. Liza tells Kelsey how much she means to her and tells her that she chooses her over Charles, as she cannot handle the idea of losing her friendship. Even though Liza has gotten herself into this mess, she would never try to hurt Kelsey. When Kelsey accepts the award at the Glamour event, she looks over at Liza and realizes that she is right. Kelsey accepts the award on behalf of both of them and says that she would not be where she is today without Liza. I’m glad that Kelsey had a change of heart, as I can’t handle another fight between these two. While Kelsey makes up with Liza, Charles gently reminds Kelsey that she is not to pull another stunt like that again. However, I think that Kelsey’s discovery is only the beginning of the complicated mess between Charles and Liza. Will they be able to handle everything that comes their way? Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 5 episode 13 Season Finale: “I Hope We Do Better There”

Happy Wednesday TV fans! After watching the CW’s The 100 season 5 episode 13, I realized that sometimes all it takes is a simple life with the person we love most in the world. The days may seem routine, but they are never unfulfilling because each day is filled with hope and joy. We may sometimes feel like we need to search for something more or bigger, but perhaps what we need most is right in front of us and has been all along. Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Damocles – Part Two,” Madi attempts to lead her people to victory with the help of Echo, Bellamy, and a surprising ally. Meanwhile, Clarke enlists the help of Diyoza to stop McCreary, Shaw is tortured in front of Raven, and Abby desperately tries to save Marcus’s life. My top 5 moments from The 100 season 5 episode 13 Season Finale are:

“I’m saving the man that I love.”

War always has casualties and I was very worried about the fate of some of our beloved characters. After John Murphy is injured, he tells the others to leave him behind since they only have nine minutes to get to the transport ship before the missile, Damocles, hits the valley. Thanks a lot McCreary. Emori is no longer hiding her feelings for John at this point, as she tells him, “There’s no way in hell I’m going to leave the man I love behind.” Monty agrees to carry Murphy and they really wait until the last possible second to get to the ship, but luckily they are all OK for now. Meanwhile, Abby also refuses to leave the love of her life behind. Octavia confronts Abby and agrees to help her, as she gathers people to carry Marcus on a stretcher to the ship. Octavia and Abby may never be able to fully forgive each other, but Octavia helps Abby in this crucial moment. While we know that Marcus’s injuries are bad, we will have to wait to determine his fate after “Cryosleep.”

“It’s the kiss of death.”

Octavia and Diyoza are left out of the meeting to figure out how to save everyone and Diyoza breaks the ice by telling Octavia, “Cheer up. I wasn’t invited either.” Both of these women were strong leaders, but they each had their flaws. Diyoza points out to Octavia that her “mistake was liking it. Power. It’s the kiss of death.” Octavia doesn’t disagree and comes to the realization that the valley probably wouldn’t have worked out after all. She says, “One Garden, two serpents…Eden never stood a chance,” and she is right. While we never got the chance to see if they could all co-exist in the valley, war can destroy everything. Perhaps the best thing that could have happened was for each of these leaders to step down. We know that they are strong, capable, and fearless, but it looks like we are in for quite the change.

“Break the cycle.”

Madi is initially nervous about accepting the large responsibility of being the Commander, but she recognizes that it is something she cannot run away from. When she first appears, someone cries out, “Heda is going to save us,” and surprisingly Octavia is the first person to bow down to her. This moment is extremely important, as Octavia finally accepts that it is time to let go and pass the torch. Her time is over and she puts her full trust and faith in Madi to lead her people to victory. With Gaia’s help, Madi taps into the minds of the other Commanders to figure out what to do and comes up with a plan to save her people. When the enemy surrenders, Madi initially wants to have them executed, but Bellamy steps in and explains, “You can be better than them. You can be better than us. The choice is yours Heda.” Madi makes the courageous decision to break the cycle and understands the importance of saving them so that they can prove they deserve to be saved. Bellamy’s wise words really resonate with Madi and it looks like she has a trusted adviser by her side. Madi has a huge responsibility once everyone wakes up from Cryosleep; however, but luckily she has Bellamy and Clarke to help her.

“She called you on the radio everyday for six years.”

Madi reminds Bellamy that he needs to forgive Clarke, but Bellamy is still clearly upset about Clarke leaving him in the fighting pits and has every right to be. Madi sheds some light on Clarke’s real feelings for Bellamy; however, and tells him about her talking to him on the radio everyday, which is a moment I have been waiting for all season. When the ship is about to close, Clarke begs Bellamy to get on board before it’s too late, but Bellamy refuses to leave his friends behind, as Murphy and the others have still not arrived. He tells her, “I can’t do that again,” clearly still feeling remorse about leaving Clarke behind after “Praimfaya.” Once everyone gets on board safely with barely a second to spare, Clarke asks Bellamy why he is not mad at her and he says, “The commander ordered me not to be,” in a heartwarming moment. While we know that Echo is still in the picture, Bellamy finally learns how Clarke feels about him, which is important. Clarke is always trying to be brave and strong for everyone else and often locks away her own feelings and desires to do what is right, but her feelings for Bellamy are real and true. I’m looking forward to seeing this explored more next season and I hope these two finally get the chance to be together because they deserve it.

“I hope we do better there…may we meet again.”

So one of the reasons why I love this show so much is because each season finale provides the audience with a twist you never see coming. I remember being shocked every single season and season 5 was no different. After everyone realizes that they must go into “Cryosleep” for ten years to survive, it seems like we are merely going to flash forward to the future. However, I almost fell out of my chair when Monty and Harper’s teenage son, Jordan, wakes up Clarke and Bellamy. Clarke and Bellamy ask “why is it just us” and learn that Monty and Harper stayed behind on the ship and didn’t go to sleep. They left a video message for them, which walks them through everything they have done together over the years. It has been 125 years and Clarke and Bellamy learn that earth is not survivable anymore. Monty spent his entire life trying to find another way to save his friends and discovered another planet with two suns. Monty explains that they chose this life and asks Clarke and Bellamy to take care of their boy. He has the middle name “Jasper” and Monty told him all about his friends and Murphy is surprisingly his favorite, which lightens up the mood. In Monty’s final moments, he has aged quite a bit and tragically explains that Harper passed away. He holds on to a glimmer of hope that they can do better here and tells them “may we meet again.” Monty finally got to live the simple life he always wanted to even though it may not have been exactly what he had in mind. He enjoyed every single second with Harper and his child and put all of his energy into finding a “plan b” to save his friends. Monty has always flown under the radar, but he is a true hero and has saved them all. The end of the season finale shows Clarke and Bellamy looking out on the new planet, not knowing what to expect. We don’t know anything about this planet and it looks like we are in for quite the adventure. Stay tuned and I know that we will meet again!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 5 episode 7: “I’d Walk Through Fire for You”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching the CW’s The 100 season 5 episode 7 last night, I learned that “acceptable losses” are a necessity in war, but how do you know when you have gone too far? Once you cross that imaginary line between right and wrong, there may be no coming back. So do we compromise who we are and what we stand for to win or do we make sacrifices and do things the hard way to keep our integrity intact? Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Acceptable Losses,” Marcus is concerned about Abby’s ability to function as a doctor because of her addiction. Meanwhile, Clarke tells Madi to hold back in training to keep her safe, Raven has second thoughts about a necessary decision, and Monty receives an emotional message from an old friend. My top 5 moments from The 100 season 5 episode 7 are:

“It’s time for Wonkru to go home.”

Clarke and Bellamy discover that someone in Wonkru has been trying to breed the worms utilizing human hosts. At first they come across dead bodies, but soon discover that one of the bodies is being kept alive, which is beyond horrifying. Octavia plans on using the worms in defectors so she can take out everyone in Shadow Valley. Clarke explains that “desperation has a way of making the unimaginable a necessity,” but this plan seems beyond dangerous. Clarke and Bellamy inform Indra about what is going on, hoping that she can get through to Octavia, but Octavia explains that she is completely aware and that this was her idea. Octavia is ready to win the war and give up “acceptable losses,” but it seems like any source of goodness within her has completely evaporated.

“I’ve been meaning to give this to you.”

In this episode, Clarke gives Monty the letter she found from Jasper shortly after Praimfaya occurred. She explains that she did not open the letter even though she wanted to. It seems like this note has perfect timing, as it really strikes a nerve with Monty. He reads several parts aloud and reveals that Jasper thought that human beings were the problem and that there would always be another war. When Monty sees the measures everyone is willing to take to win the war, he tells his friends that Jasper was right all along and that maybe they do not deserve the last piece of livable earth after all. While this moment is heartbreaking for Monty, it’s about time he got some screen time. It seems like he has been fading into the void of forgotten secondary characters for too long and I would like to see him take matters into his own hands and really make an impact, but will anyone heed his warning?

“How could you be loyal to someone who collars people like animals?”

Back in Shadow Valley, Echo tries to work with Raven so that they can get the eye down according to Bellamy’s plan, but Raven is having second thoughts about betraying Shaw. Echo gets Diyoza’s attention when she has Raven prove that Shaw was the one to take down the missiles while they insert the drive with this sleight of hand. Later on we see that Shaw is now a prisoner as well, but Raven can barely look him in the eye. Her guilt is weighing on her conscience, but is it perhaps because there are some other feelings present as well? Could Shaw be a potential romantic interest for Raven?

“Be the last.”

Clarke and Gaia try to protect Madi by informing her not to try her hardest during training. While Madi seems initially confused by this, she does as she is told but makes it too obvious. Gaia shows Madi the flame and tells her that she will never force it on her, but it’s clear that Madi will eventually need to accept her destiny as “The Commander” sooner or later. When Octavia asks to see her fight, Madi makes the conscious decision to put forth all of her effort, proving to be a strong fighter with a lot of potential. Octavia asks her to be her “second” and Madi agrees to Clarke’s dismay. Clarke does not oppose Octavia publicly, but later radios to Diyoza to make a deal and tells Bellamy and the others that they will need to take out Octavia, knowing that she will never agree to any kind of compromise. Will Bellamy be able to stand by and let this happen to his sister? Will Clarke be able to get Octavia to surrender without killing her? We will have to stay tuned, but Clarke is ready to do what is necessary to protect Madi and her friends no matter what.

“I’d walk through fire for you. I’d die for you…choose.”

After Abby loses a patient who was shot, Marcus is beyond concerned when he sees that Abby is still extremely dependent on her pills. He reminds Abby that this was supposed to be their second chance and that people are dying. Abby tells him that she did everything she could, but Marcus feels it wasn’t enough. Marcus reminds Abby that he would walk through fire for her and die for her, but that he refuses to stand by and watch her kill herself. He tells her to choose between him and the pills, but they are interrupted by Diyoza before Abby can give him an answer. Marcus clearly cares about Abby more than anything or anyone, but will he finally be able to get through to her? Later on, Abby gets ready to examine Diyoza after telling her that the disease is present among 75 percent of her people. We are all in for a shock and learn that Diyoza is pregnant. As I think back to the other seasons, I believe Diyoza is the first character that we have seen pregnant on earth. While there are still many unanswered questions surrounding this revelation, it certainly throws another twist in there that we did not see coming.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 5 episode 3: “Sometimes I am blind to what’s right in front of me.”

Happy Wednesday TV fans! After watching TV Land’s Younger season 5 episode 3 last night, I learned that sometimes you want to believe in the lie so much that you start to actually think that it’s the truth. Only it eats away at you until you ultimately make the decision on whether or not to release it. Even though it may be easier to have others believe in the story, sometimes being real and upfront can show others that a happy ending is possible, but it may not be in the cards right now and that’s perfectly OK. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “The End of the Tour,” Pauline is having a difficult time coping with the end of her marriage when she goes on her book tour. Meanwhile, Kelsey joins a new dating app, Lauren tries to talk some sense into Josh, and Charles confronts Liza. My top 5 moments from Younger season 5 episode 3 are:

“You probably don’t need to get that detailed.”

As Pauline prepares for her book tour, she has trouble coping with the fact that her marriage is over. Diana suggests that she “postpone the truth,” but Pauline is interested in what Liza thinks. Liza explains that people find themselves wanting to believe in the story, but Pauline is not so sure she can keep the lie going. After over sharing about her sexcapades with Charles outdoors, Liza gently reminds her that perhaps they don’t need to get that detailed with the lie, but it seems like Pauline is hanging on by a thread at this point.

“You’re a born romantic.”

After being dumped by Claire, Josh is trying his best to move on and have as much meaningless sex as possible. However, Lauren tries to set him straight on this and explains that as his roommate there should be some common courtesy, which includes “no roamers, no moaners, and no giving out the Wifi password.” I have to say that I am loving the budding friendship between Lauren and Josh. Sometimes Josh needs someone to just tell him how it is without worrying about hurting his feelings. Josh confides in Lauren that he thinks that he might have already met the right person and Lauren shows off her softer side when she tells him that if it’s meant to be, nothing will keep them apart. While we don’t know if Josh and Liza will patch things up anytime soon, it looks like Lauren will be a good influence on him.

“My story isn’t over and my happy ending is still out there.”

Pauline’s book tour isn’t going exactly according to plan. While she is able to read a passage from her book eloquently, once we get to the question and answer portion she breaks down in tears whenever she is asked about her own personal relationship and how she was able to get back together with Charles. In “Marriage Vacation,” she has a passage where she compares her sex life to a restaurant and is asked what restaurant it represents now. Pauline hilariously breaks down in tears and blurts out something about Korean Barbecue and how it’s so “spicy.” When Charles comes to one of her readings, Pauline cannot pretend anymore. She tells the audience the truth and explains that her story isn’t over just yet. Pauline feels much better now that she has cleared her conscience and it seems like her readers will respect her even more now.

“I love your confidence. Sometimes it’s even sexy…sometimes.”

The sparks continue to fly between Kelsey and Zane and escalate even further when Zane comes up on her Yara dating app, which is apparently a big deal. Kelsey is not as excited about it, but starts to think that it may have more potential than she initially gave it credit for when it also presents a potential match in Jake who will be working with both her and Zane. Kelsey even asks him if “three’s a crowd,” which seems like it will now present even more of a dilemma for Kelsey both professionally and romantically, but we will have to stay tuned to see how this unfolds. Either way, I am loving the vibe between Kelsey and Zane, but it seems like she is having mixed feelings at this point.

“Sometimes I am blind to what’s right in front of me.”

After brooding for some time, Charles confronts Liza at the end of the episode and asks her, “Who are you?” Clearly Charles is hurt and frustrated when he finds out that she has been lying to him all this time. He tells her that she betrayed him and that their relationship will be a professional reporting one from now on. Liza tries to interject and suggests that perhaps she should leave instead, but Charles harshly reminds her she did all of this to be able to work. When Charles walks away from Liza, the lie has finally caught up to her and I’m not sure if she will be able to mend his broken heart. Perhaps it’s about time Liza comes clean with everyone, but is it too late for that?

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Younger” season 5 episode 1 season premiere: “My Feelings are There and they’re Real”

Happy Saturday TV fans! So I finally got the chance to binge-watch the first four seasons of TV Land’s Younger on Hulu and I have to admit that I’m absolutely hooked. If you haven’t gotten a chance to watch the show yet, I absolutely recommend it. It kind of has a romcom feel, but goes so much further than that. You will absolutely fall in love with every character on the show and the episodes are a little over 30 minutes each so you can get through full seasons rather quickly. Sutton Foster is absolutely fabulous as Liza Miller. You may think you know what the show is about after seeing some of the previews or commercials on Hulu, but I have to say that the show went far beyond my expectations. While the love triangle between Liza, Josh, and Charles is addicting enough, what sets this show apart is its ability to redefine labels and stereotypes in a world focused on social media and appearances. It may seem slightly far-fetched that Liza is able to fool almost everyone into thinking that she is 26 years old, even though she looks amazing for her age, but somehow it works. Her continuation of her new identity allows her to reinvent herself, but not without making mistakes along the way. Now that I am finally caught up, I was excited to watch the season premiere of season 5 on my DVR. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, Liza comes back from Ireland and tries to tell Charles how she feels, but is interrupted by an HR convention on sexual harassment. Meanwhile, Kelsey and Zane try to balance their feelings for one another, while maintaining an even playing field at work. My top 5 moments from Younger season 5 episode 1 season premiere are:

“Do you want to say something Liza? Could destroy the company but we’ll support you.”

When Zane joined Empirical, he brought back one of the top selling authors, Edward L.L. Moore, who is beyond eccentric and extremely creepy when it comes to his advances toward Liza when she is dressed up as “Princess Pampam.” While this seems like a huge win for Empirical, Moore is accused of inappropriate behavior, which could bring more trouble than he is worth. Charles tries to speak openly to Liza about Moore’s past behavior toward her and Diana impatiently waits for a response. Miriam Shor is absolutely hilarious as Diana, as she combines the perfect blend of unaware rudeness with a get-to-the-point attitude. While she may come across harsh sometimes, she has displayed some wonderful moments with Liza as well, proving that she does care about others after all. Diana basically says everything that you may be thinking, but shouldn’t really say out loud, but she refuses to apologize for this and I wouldn’t have it any other way. After watching the previews for upcoming episodes, I’m excited to see that her mystery construction man will be making another appearance, which may finally give Diana a chance at some real adventure and love. Maybe she’ll even bring back the jeans into her wardrobe.

“I think he’s making a mistake but I’m the last person who could tell him that.”

Liza and Kelsey rehash what happened in Ireland and are shocked by Josh’s impetuous behavior. After putting his feelings out there for Liza the night before his wedding, Josh ultimately decides to go through with it, crushing my hopes and dreams for these two to get back together. Even though Josh, played by Nico Tortorella, is charming and absolutely swoon-worthy, his immaturity often gets the best of him, causing him not to always make the best decisions. While Josh hasn’t returned just yet, I can’t imagine that the drama is over between him and Liza. We’ll have to stay tuned to see how long he actually stays married to Claire, but I’m going to give it three weeks top. After all, that will match the actual time they have been together.

“You’re so desperate for my approval.”

So I am absolutely shipping Kelsey and Zane. I am a big fan of Charles Michael Davis from The Originals and it’s nice to see him put the blood-lust on the back burner while he shows off his immaculate suits and irresistible charm on Younger. Kelsey has not had the best luck with men. I am still beyond shocked over her fiancé, Thad getting crushed by construction debris earlier in the series. I mean I was not a fan of Thad at all or Chad for that matter, but that was not what I had in mind for his exit from the show. I definitely did not like the hinted vibes between Josh and Kelsey after they became roommates and was thrilled to see the introduction of Zane’s character in season 4 to steer away from this. Zane is the perfect match for Kelsey and I think that if they ever moved in together, they would have the most amazing wardrobe between the two of them. While Kelsey seems hesitant about moving forward with Zane, it doesn’t look like he is giving up on her just yet. But will their competitiveness at work block all possibilities of a stable relationship?

“What happened in this office was incredible. My feelings are there and they’re real.”

When Liza comes face to face with Charles again, her feelings come rushing to the surface as well. Josh has moved on and put a “ring between them,” but Liza realizes that a relationship with Charles would be beyond complicated. Especially since she has gotten so close to his wife, Pauline, which would make things very messy. When Liza tells Charles how she feels, he awkwardly explains that he is asking Liza about what happened with Edward L.L. Moore and they are then interrupted by Diana before they can discuss their feelings any further. I have gotten used to the unresolved tension between Liza and Charles and it seems like the timing is never quite right, but it seems like everything is about to change.

At the end of the episode, Charles announces that they are postponing Moore’s books because of the allegations against him. Moore is not about to go quietly, however; as he pays Charles a visit. He reveals that he has files on all of the women involved, including Liza. He tells Charles about Liza’s real age and that she is a divorced housewife from New Jersey. Charles is beyond shocked, but can’t dispute the evidence in front of him, especially when he sees the marriage certificate. I have to say that it is about time Charles found out the truth. We know that Liza’s deception had damaged the relationship between her and Josh and her friendship with Kelsey in the past, but this discovery is something earth shattering. Charles is Liza’s boss and he also has very real feelings for her. Even though they haven’t gotten a chance to see their story through, what will happen now that Charles knows the truth? Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments featuring Cheryl & Toni from “Riverdale” season 2: “You’re Sensational.”

Happy Thursday TV fans! Even though we will have to wait quite some time for season 3 of Riverdale to premiere on the CW, there is still plenty to discuss. While we got a lot of swoon-worthy moments for Bughead and Varchie, it seems like there was an opportunity for other ships to really flourish, such as Cheryl and Toni, FP and Alice, and Kevin and Moose. For today, I am going to be recapping and ranking the top 5 moments featuring my absolute favorite ship from Riverdale season 2, Cheryl and Toni. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the full season yet. Cheryl and Toni, also known together as “Choni,” possess something beyond passion and fire. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of fire there, especially with Cheryl threatening to burn her house down every other day. However, what makes Cheryl and Toni stand out as a true pairing, is their sense of loyalty along with their willingness to fight for the other. Fans cannot help falling in love with these two, as their friendship and bond grows, leading up to an epic kiss that will have you cheering. Cheryl has been clearly broken for some time and her mother’s cruel actions never really help with this, especially when her mother tries to stifle her feelings for other women. Toni is the one person that Cheryl can truly confide in and while we know her as “Cheryl Bombshell,” she finally lets her guard down for Toni and reminds us that there is a scared little girl behind that tough attitude. Toni reminds her that it’s alright to cry sometimes and that embracing who you are can sometimes be a challenge in itself. From Toni’s perspective, Cheryl is “sensational,” reminding us that sometimes all we really need is someone to see the good in us, even when we don’t see it ourselves. My top 5 moments featuring Cheryl and Toni from Riverdale season 2 are:

The Sleepover party. (Moment from Season 2, episode 16)

Cheryl has been having nightmares and hallucinations ever since she overheard her mother’s plan to get rid of her and Nana Rose. She decides to hold a sleepover party with her “inner circle and cousin Betty” to distract herself, but it’s really to confide in them about what’s going on. Everyone is not really sure what to make of Cheryl’s fears, but Betty steps up and tells her that she feels like strangers are lurking behind every corner at her house too and empathizes with her. Cheryl is beyond terrified and gets even closer to Toni on this night. Cheryl even tells her that she may have had the sleepover party just to be able to invite her over, which is an absolutely adorable revelation. Choni is about to share their first kiss, only they are interrupted suddenly as fate would have it. Nana Rose has fallen badly and is rushed to the hospital, but Cheryl knows deep down that this cannot be an accident. She is convinced that Uncle Claudius and her mother pushed Nana down the stairs but doesn’t have any proof. Her mother intervenes when she tries to talk to the doctor and takes her into the car ominously saying that they will “make her all better.” Noticing Cheryl’s disappearance, Toni shows up at the Blossom house to find her, but her mother mechanically tells her that she is out of the country at boarding school. Toni knows this cannot be true, but the door slams in her face before she can get in another word. The end of the episode reveals Cheryl locked away at the “Sisters of Quiet Mercy” mental institution, her hair done up in pigtails, as if to bring her back to a childhood state away from the rest of the world. While it seems like Cheryl may be locked away for good, Toni refuses to rest until she finds her, proving to be an amazing friend and someone Cheryl can finally count on.

“Everything looks good on me.” (Moment from Season 2, episode 22)

After the Southsiders receive a memo from the principal that they are going to have to go to “Seaside High” due to sudden overcrowding, no one is ready to just accept this. All of our favorite characters are wearing Serpent jackets and are ready to walk out, showing their support for the Southside. Toni tells Cheryl, “that jacket looks good on you” and of course Cheryl replies with, “Everything looks good on me.” When Toni suggests that they “make it official,” Choni fans everywhere are swooning. While we know she means becoming a Serpent, perhaps they can finally make their relationship legit. These two beautiful ladies have definitely earned it and have proven their love for one another over and over. It’s about time they get some time in the spotlight. Meanwhile, leadership changes within the Serpents as well, as FP officially retires and passes the torch to Jughead. Jughead accepts and his first order of business is to give Cheryl her red Serpent jacket, which matches perfectly with the killer red boots she wore to the ceremony. Is there a Serpent dance in Cheryl’s future? We’ll have to see, but it’s great to see her become a part of this group, especially since she has been searching to belong for so long. With Toni by her side, there is no stopping “Cheryl Bombshell.”

“Untie her you Serpent Hag!” (Moment from Season 2, episode 21)

Penny and the Ghoulies are back in this episode and demand that the Serpents give up and leave so that they can take over this town. Penny takes things a step further when she holds Toni captive, demanding that Jughead pay her a visit. Luckily, Jughead brings some back-up, which is none other than our favorite archer in town, Cheryl Blossom. “Untie her you Serpent Hag!” I found myself cheering as Cheryl rescues her “Cherie,” Toni, proving once again that Choni is beyond romantic. These two ladies prove that they don’t need a man to step in and save the day. Although, having a bow and arrow handy certainly doesn’t hurt.

“You’re sensational.” (Moment from Season 2, episode 14)

Cheryl is clearly disappointed and feeling left out when she is not invited along to the weekend getaway at Shadow Lake and is desperately trying to avoid her own home that her mother has “turned into a sex playground.” While Cheryl makes some rash decisions as a result of this, it’s hard not to feel sympathetic towards her. Cheryl calls Jughead and reveals the truth about Betty’s kiss with Archie that she thought was “like with tongue serious,” desperately trying to spoil their weekend since she is hurt. Toni walks in on this and calls her out on it, but Cheryl puts her guard up immediately and reminds her exactly who she is: “Hi I’m Cheryl Blossom, aka Cheryl Bombshell which means I need no reasons. Feel free to tremble.” Toni is not scared off by this, however; and continues to reach out to her, recognizing that she is in pain and in need of a friend. After seeing Cheryl alone at the movies, Toni offers to sit with her. Cheryl later admits to Toni that she “never cries at movies because real life is tragic enough.” In this moment, Cheryl finally lets her guard down, revealing her vulnerability and past secrets to Toni. Toni sympathetically listens to her and a budding friendship or relationship is forming at this point for sure. In a beautiful moment, Toni simply tells Cheryl: “you’re not loveless. You’re not deviant. You’re sensational.” Toni’s uncomplicated honesty is getting through to Cheryl and this is the moment where everything changes. Cheryl’s wall has come down completely and she takes the first step toward becoming her true self. Toni sees the good in Cheryl and supports her, allowing her own feelings to come to the surface as well.

Fans were more than disappointed after the interrupted first kiss between Choni at the sleepover party, but fear not, love is still blooming in the air. Toni enlists the help of Veronica and Josie to help find Cheryl, as she knows that there is no way that she is being held in a boarding school, especially since her social media account has been dead silent. The girls go and confront Mrs. Blossom who is armed and ready. She tells them that Cheryl is mentally ill and even shows Josie the picture that Cheryl sketched not too long ago of the two of them, revealing that Cheryl was the one who was threatening and stalking her. Josie is out, but Veronica and Toni are not about to completely abandon their friend. Nana Rose makes the right call and tries to help Toni find Cheryl, but is rudely interrupted by Uncle Claudius. They then learn from Kevin that the “Sisters of Quiet Mercy” practice gay conversion therapy and that there is a secret tunnel that can lead them to Cheryl. Toni and Veronica put on their fantastic spy-like outfits which have just the right amount of flair and break in. Cheryl is stunned when she sees Toni and the two share an epic kiss in front of the film screen. The cheers for Choni should be deafening as this kiss was well worth the wait. I’m looking forward to see what season 3 brings for Cheryl and Toni. After all, now that Cheryl is a Serpent too, there are plenty more adventures for them to experience together. Let’s just hope their relationship gets the chance it deserves.

Ranking the top 5 moments featuring Alice and Robin from “Once Upon a Time” season 7: Mad Archer Always and Forever

Happy Saturday TV fans! I felt a void not having a new episode of Once Upon a Time to discuss today, however; just because OUAT is over, it doesn’t mean we have to take a break from remembering our favorite moments and characters. After all, their stories will continue on and I am not about to close the book on them just yet. For today, I am going to be recapping and ranking the top 5 moments featuring my absolute favorite couple from OUAT season 7, Alice and Robin. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the full season yet. Alice and Robin, also known as Tilly and Margot, possess a pure and beautiful love. Fans cannot help falling in love with these two, as they remind us what true love is all about. I’m talking the over-the-top feelings of butterflies in your stomach and smiling constantly for no reason at all. Alice/Tilly possesses a unique and quirky personality and Robin/Margot balances her out perfectly with her quick wit and calm nature. Both Alice and Robin have been searching for something or someone and they find exactly what they are looking for in each other. When Margot returns to Hyperion Heights, she and Tilly have an immediate chemistry that is not to be ignored. Their first date in Hyperion Heights is beyond adorable, including everything from a sugary treat almost as sweet as them, to an adventure in the bookstore. Both Alice and Robin have a strong sense of doing what’s right and supporting family and friends no matter what, which makes their relationship that much more powerful. As individual characters they are remarkable, but as a team they are truly something special. My top 5 moments featuring Alice and Robin from Once Upon a Time season 7 are:

“Nobin” and “Tower Girl.” (Moment from Season 7, episode 14)

In this episode, we get a glimpse at Alice and Robin’s very own “meet cute.” Robin points an arrow at Alice, who is spying on her father, Nook from afar. After Robin reveals the reasoning behind Nook’s new nickname, Alice playfully suggests that they call her “Nobin.” “Yea don’t call me that,” Robin says, clearly not a fan of her new nickname. In return, she calls Alice “Tower Girl,” and the two head off to find the troll that is destroying villages. Alice tries to defend the troll and explains that he is her friend, but Robin is determined to prove that she can live up to the legend of her father. The ship name for Alice and Robin is Mad Archer and I have to say that the name fits them perfectly, especially after watching them meet for the first time. Robin is ready to follow through and execute her plan, but Alice’s good nature and naivete intervenes. While Alice has pure intentions, her logic is not always spot on, but Robin ends up supporting her decision to protect the troll, even if it means standing up to everyone who gets in their way. And so their romance begins.

Alice and Robin are ready to save the day. (Moment from Season 7, episode 21)

After Wish Rumple begins re-writing the history of fairy-tales, Tilly/Alice gets a pain within her and recognizes immediately that something has gone terribly wrong. She and Margot/Robin go to Tiana for help. Tiana’s words to her people are inspiring and a magic bean is turned over to help Tilly and Margot get to their friends to save the day. Only they need to make a quick stop in Storybrooke first to get some help from some friends. This moment is important because it reminds us how selfless these two characters are. They have finally remembered who they are and their love for one another, but they put all of that on hold to go and save their family and friends. Alice and Robin’s actions may go unnoticed, but they are heroes.

Tilly/Alice and Margot/Robin go on a first date. (Moment from Season 7, episode 18)

Undeniable sparks have been flying between Tilly and Margot as soon as Margot arrives in Hyperion Heights. Margot even tells her mother, Zelena/Kelly that she wants to stay behind because of the potential budding romance. When Margot asks Tilly to join her for a day on the town, she means business, as she even comments that she is wearing lip gloss for the occasion. After a sugar-rushed treat, Tilly opens up and decides to show Margot her world. She brings her to a bookstore and tells her how much she loves it because she can go anywhere in the world without moving from this very spot. After Tilly has a minor breakdown, Margot reminds her that she is there for it all, including the bad. She gives Alice a bracelet similar to the ones she collected around the world and tells her, “This felt like an adventure to me.”

“I told you we’d always know each other.” (Moment from Season 7, episode 20)

After Tilly courageously joined Gothel’s coven to protect her father’s life, she is now under some type of trance, trapped by the magic she is channeling. Rogers/Nook tells her that he will come back for her and save her and is ready to finally take a leap of faith. Rogers and Rumple seek out the help of Margot, desperately hoping that she can get through to Tilly before it is too late. Margot tries to talk Tilly out of this spell, recognizing that perhaps she is just having a really bad day and “maybe we can turn it into a good one.” Tilly refuses, however; and flings her in the air, shrinking her enemies into almost non-existence, as she remains trapped by the magic consuming her. When the curse is ultimately broken, Margot and Tilly remember themselves as Robin and Alice…or “Tower Girl.” When the words, “I told you we’d always know each other” are spoken, you can’t help feeling an overwhelming sense of warmth and love for these two characters being reunited. They share a kiss and embrace that is beyond transcendent. Their love for one another is so pure and good, proving that real love can truly conquer all.

Mad Archer gets their happy ending. (Moment from Season 7, episode 22)

Alice and Robin have an undeniable friendship and will do anything to protect the other. In an absolutely swoon-worthy moment, Robin asks Nook for his blessing to marry Alice and he happily agrees. Nook’s heart is severely weakened from the curse, but Robin reassures him, “no matter what you are walking Alice down that aisle!” While we don’t get to see the wedding for these two, I can only imagine how truly romantic it will be. I feel like they should travel the world and get married in front of a beautiful sunset, as they take on new adventures together. After all, these two beautiful and courageous women turn browsing a bookstore into an adventure. Either way, we know that they have earned their happily ever after, but their story is far from over.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The 100” season 5 episode 5: “All of Me for All of Us”

Happy Wednesday TV fans! After watching the CW’s The 100 season 5 episode 5 last night, I have learned that you should never get in the way of “Wonkru,” unless you want to face the wrath of “Blodreina” that is. You would think that perhaps being the big brother of “The Red Queen” might work in your favor, but perhaps showing off your new girlfriend and former enemy to “Blodreina” is not the smartest idea. Watch out Bellamy. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Shifting Sands,” Octavia prepares to lead her people to take back the valley, but Clarke cautions her about the dangers ahead, which include sandstorms and worms that could be right out of the movie “Aliens.” Meanwhile, Abby is tested as a doctor, Raven is tortured, and Murphy learns that he just isn’t that funny. My top 5 moments from The 100 season 5 episode 5 are:

“All of me for all of us. It’s kind of beautiful.”

In the beginning of the episode, Clarke warns Octavia about traveling through the sea route. She explains that the sandstorms have sort of evolved and now include shards of glass being hurled your way. Octavia is focused on taking the valley and is ready to fight, but Indra tells Bellamy that his sister needs him. Indra has a strong love for Octavia and is loyal to her always, but recognizes that sometimes she may need to take a step back and think. While it seems like Bellamy and Clarke can have a good influence on her, Octavia is not about to change her leadership methods in the slightest. Clarke comments to Bellamy that they lost 400 people in the bunker and had no idea if they would ever get out of there alive and still they are “strong and unified.” She says that it’s impressive and Bellamy tells her, “So is surviving alone.” Clarke is not the only one impressed with Octavia, as Diyoza takes notice of her as well, recognizing that she is a dangerous enemy to have, especially since her people are so loyal. While it’s clear that Octavia has changed over the years, is she really willing to stand against her family and friends? The lines have not been blurred just yet, but it’s only a matter of time before she turns her back against them if it means doing the right thing by her people. Let’s just hope she’s not too far gone. While it’s important to be a strong leader, Octavia has turned off her compassion and love. What happens when the threat is over and she has no one left to connect with? After all, being at the top can be quite lonely.

“We don’t just need a doctor. We need a good doctor.”

After Abby and Marcus are taken by Diyoza, Abby’s skills are put to the test right away. She begins examining a prisoner who has developed some kind of black spots or lesions on the brain. Abby thinks that they may be cancerous and perhaps caused by whatever they were exposed to when mining, but Diyoza explains that it’s not cancer and that thirteen other patients have similar symptoms. Their last doctor was not able to crack the case, but she is hopeful that with the right motivation Abby will be able to do so. While we know that Abby is very capable as a doctor, perhaps she should take a moment to examine herself. Her addiction to pills is getting worse and Marcus is extremely worried about this. Will Abby be able to kick this bad habit before it’s too late? Perhaps Clarke will need to get involved as well to intervene. Later in the episode, McCreary comes to see Abby and we learn that he is one of the patients. Abby calmly asks him, “Should I save you?” We know that McCreary is far from a good person, but there is the potential for an unlikely partnership here if all goes well. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, or in this case, the right hand man of my enemy is? Either way, I am looking forward to seeing this story-line progress, as McCreary is not one to take lightly.

“Thought you’d be funnier. Octavia is my favorite…I mean no offense.”

Raven and Murphy are out of space and immediate danger, but that doesn’t mean they are out of the woods just yet. They are being held captive by Shaw and McCreary and Raven is tortured over and over again to release the missiles. Raven tries to explain that she didn’t do it and when Murphy’s life is threatened, she begs them not to hurt him, reminding us Murphen fans that there may be still some hope here for these two to get together. That is if Emori doesn’t forgive him for being…well John Murphy. After McCreary leaves, Shaw reveals to Raven that he is the one who locked the missiles, proving that he may be an unlikely ally in all of this. Raven knows that the prisoners are not his people and that he is being kept alive for his piloting skills and uses this to her advantage. She tells him, “you’re going to like my plan more,” and sets it in motion. Murphy is set free and runs into Echo and the others. In a hilarious moment, Madi comments that she thought he would be funnier, proving that you don’t lose your sense of humor when you are one of the last two people on earth. Perhaps Murphy can take some notes from her. Murphy and the others warn Bellamy that the missile attack is about to happen and tell them they need to hide or they will all be killed.

“Wishes are for the weak.”

Diyoza takes a moment to bring Marcus out into the woods and have a drink with him. He’s never had tequila, but immediately recognizes that Diyoza has him here to make some sort of deal. Marcus is smart, but realizes that Diyoza is not one to cross. She proves once again to be a formidable enemy and we learn that she even slashed her own throat. I mean talk about bad-ass. Octavia may have met her match just yet and Diyoza is looking for Marcus to provide her with information about her. Know thy enemy and all of that. Will Marcus provide her with the Intel she needs? Octavia has made it clear where she stands with Marcus, but he is also concerned about Abby’s well-being. Either way, Marcus is very valuable to Diyoza right now, but it’s up to him to determine where his loyalties lie.

“If you ever speak out against Wonkru again then you are an enemy of Wonkru and you are my enemy.”

The threats keep coming at Octavia and the others. One of her men is infected by some type of worm that hatches from the inside and is beyond disgusting. Octavia gets a worm in her arm and Clarke takes immediate action when she cuts it out of her. This will make your skin crawl for sure and I suggest not really eating during this episode, but luckily Octavia is alright. Just as this is happening, they get the heads up that they are about to be attacked by the missiles and have only one option. Octavia’s people protect her in the middle of the sandstorm, which is the only place to hide at this point. Octavia loses some people during this act, but needs to continue on in order to protect the rest of them. While Octavia tells Bellamy that she is happy he is alive, she is not messing around. She warns him that if he ever speaks out against “Wonkru” again, then he will be the enemy. Seriously this phrase is like a broken record now, but kind of catchy at the same time. Is Octavia really putting “Wonkru” above her own brother? Perhaps now is not the best time for a reunion with his romantic interest, Echo. Becho fans should seriously talk some sense into them. Clarke takes notice of this, which puts a pause on our hopes for a Bellarke romance, but Octavia’s reaction reveals that perhaps Bellamy has already become the enemy of “Wonkru.” Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Fear the Walking Dead” season 4 episode 6: “Just in Case”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 6, I learned that it’s always a smart idea to have a contingency plan in place…just in case. While you may never need to use it, being prepared is never a bad idea. After all, having a plan is better than no plan at all. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. In last night’s episode, “Just in Case,” John Dorie is desperate to find out what happened to his Laura/Naomi, Victor asks Madison an important question, and Alicia’s rash decision may have irreversible consequences. My top 5 moments from Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 6 are:

“I want answers.”

In the beginning of the episode, John Dorie and Morgan stop a man associated with the Vultures and John is not messing around. Both of his guns are out and he means business. He demands answers and when the man makes the mistake of reaching for his gun, he shoots off his fingers. John is still clearly grieving over the news that his love, Laura is gone and wants to know what happened to her. In a revealing moment, he explains to Morgan that he just wants to know that she didn’t suffer, which allows us to fall in love with John Dorie all over again. His good heart has been broken and while the pieces may never come back together, he still wants to do right by her and protect her memory.

“Cause I know who you are. That and I really like drinking with you.”

We flash to the past and Victor’s guilt has been slowly eating away at him, as he knows he lied to Madison and feels like he is not worthy. Madison and Victor sit down to have a drink together away from everyone and Victor takes this moment to ask her why she saved him, especially after what he did. He tells her that she had plenty of opportunities to walk away, but Madison always stayed by his side, refusing to give up on him. Madison’s answer is real and to the point, reminding us why she is such a great leader and mother. Madison makes the hard decisions, but she puts everyone else before herself, which can sometimes make her vulnerable. Her compassion and love for others keep her going, however; and she always believes in the potential of goodness, even when it may seem like someone is too far gone.

“Well lucky for you I’m not you.”

After Naomi tries to run yet again, Madison and Victor agree to accompany her to an old FEMA building. Naomi is still keeping her guard up and tries to do this on her own, but Madison and Victor do not take no for an answer. Victor thinks that Naomi is a coward, but Madison still tries to see the good in her. It’s clear that Victor doesn’t trust Naomi, but it seems like a lot of his anger is directed more toward his own actions. He later tells Madison about his contingency plan, unable to lie to her anymore. He tells her that not everyone can be saved and that people don’t change, but once again Madison teaches him a lesson about forgiveness. Madison couldn’t leave Victor to drown and perhaps he needs her just as much as she needs him.

“Her name was Rose.”

Victor and Madison save Naomi after she is surrounded by walkers. She tells them about the “just in case” plans she learned about here and breaks down sobbing. While we know Naomi lost a child from her previous conversation with John Dorie, we now get the whole story. Naomi’s daughter was named Rose and she became very ill with pneumonia. Naomi rushed off to find her medicine and was actually able to retrieve what she needed, but it was too late. Rose died and turned and when Naomi returned, all of the people who had taught her so much were turned too. Naomi feels responsible for all of this and explains that she cannot run anymore. While it’s difficult for her to face this, the guilt is too much to handle alone. Everyone has the chance to start over, but sometimes you need to return to the past in order to move forward. Naomi may not have closure, but she is finally able to open up her old wounds and breathe. Madison later speaks to Alicia and tells her to bury the guns and supplies by the motel, making a contingency plan of her very own. Perhaps all of this has taught Madison a valuable lesson as well. While the Vultures leave after they return with supplies, Madison has learned that you can never been too careful…just in case.

“What you’re doing is only going to make things worse.”

Back in present day, perhaps everyone should just take a moment to pause and listen to Morgan Jones. He is the voice of reason here, but everyone is on edge, refusing to abandon their quest for vengeance. Morgan tried to keep the Vultures away, but they show up anyway. After Mel makes a comment about being sorry about Alicia’s brother, her vengeance turns to pure rage when she tells him that she’s not sorry about his brother. Alicia has not gotten a chance to really process what has happened to Nick and is running on pure anger. She is not thinking rationally and is unable to make the decisions that are best for the group. It is revealed that Naomi is alive and now with the Vultures, which I can’t say is that surprising. However, when John Dorie sees her and whispers, “Laura,” his hope is temporarily restored. Naomi is just as surprised to see John, but doesn’t get a chance for a happy reunion. Alicia is beyond upset to see Naomi and can no longer channel her rage. She turns the gun on her, but John steps in the way and is shot. While we don’t know the fate of John just yet, the shot looks fatal. Just when John finally gets to see the love of his life again, a cruel fate steps in their way and may separate them forever. While one cannot be angry at Alicia, who is clearly grieving over the loss of her brother, this unfortunate accident cannot be reversed. At this point I have so many questions. Is John really dead? Why did Naomi join the Vultures? Where is our Madison? We will need to wait 2 weeks for a new episode, but I have to say that John Dorie has become my absolute favorite character in only a few episodes and I will be absolutely heartbroken if he is truly dead. His story was so real and relevant and I am hoping that he can be saved somehow. Naomi does have medical training, but I’m not sure that will be enough. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Once Upon a Time” season 7 episode 22 Series Finale: “A Second Chance”

After watching ABC’s Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 22 series finale last night, Regina gets it right when she says, “This isn’t an ending. I hate endings because then your story’s done.” She reminds us that our stories are far from over and it’s not exactly a new beginning, as Emma suggested, but really more of “a second chance.” I have to say that this series finale was an emotional roller coaster for me, reminding me why I fell in love with this show in the first place and why it will always remain a favorite for me for years to come. Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s series finale, “Leaving Storybrooke,” Alice and Robin try to find some help for their family and realize how complicated it is to explain time travel. Meanwhile, Rumple and Nook try to break out of the snow globe and Regina desperately attempts to get through to alter-ego Henry before he does something he can never take back. My top 5 moments from Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 22 series finale are:

“Our story was so short. Doesn’t make it any less epic.”

Alter-ego Henry has a lot of bottled up anger and plans on taking it out on Regina. He blames her for all of his problems and thinks that ending her life will bring him some kind of satisfaction. Regina doesn’t give up and reminds him that in another realm she is his mother. In a touching moment she says, “You’ve saved me. Please let me save you now.” Henry initially turns his mother away, leaving her alone in a prison cell. While Regina is dreaming, Robin visits her, as he is always still in her heart. She tells him how much she has missed him and explains she may be joining him. Regina clearly remembers being a villain and starts to think that maybe this is what she deserves. However, the goodness in her is articulated by Robin, who tells her that she was able to move her dark actions to the light and that was all because of her. He tells her that “her life is proof that no one’s path is set,” foreshadowing some of the events to occur later on. Robin provides Regina with the strength she needs when it seems like the world is against her. When he tells her how epic their love was, I have to admit that the tears already started coming. While it seems beyond unfair that these two cannot be together, Robin will always be in Regina’s heart, reminding her that her new path is one of goodness and love.

Mad Archer gets their happy ending.

While I was initially hesitant about all of the changes in season 7, Mad Archer always kept me smiling and cheering for them. Alice and Robin are beyond adorable and their love is pure and innocent. They have an undeniable friendship and will do anything to protect the other. In an absolutely swoon-worthy moment, Robin asks Nook for his blessing to marry Alice and he happily agrees. Nook’s heart is severely weakened from the curse, but Robin reassures him, “no matter what you are walking Alice down that aisle!” While we don’t get to see the wedding for these two, I am hoping that a spin-off or special may be in their future? If not, it is definitely something to consider as these two beautiful and courageous women turn browsing a bookstore into an adventure. Who wouldn’t want to watch these two lovelies take on the world? Either way, we know that they have earned their happily ever after and they are responsible for saving Nook and the others from the snow globe, proving that they can be quite resourceful and convincing. Of course they do have an assist from the absolutely fabulous Zelena, who doesn’t turn away from an opportunity to take a Selfie or to help her daughter from the future. While they may have unintentionally angered Grumpy after destroying his lunch, one can’t help but fall in love with these two, as they will stop at nothing to protect the ones they love. Their awkwardness makes them that much more adorable, proving that these two are truly meant for one another. Well deserved Mad Archer!

“We heard you needed some help.”

After breaking out of the snow globe, Henry rushes off to save his mother, Regina. He runs into a little trouble on the way and is saved by his grandparents, Snow White and Prince Charming! While I was expecting them to turn up sooner or later, I was squealing and cheering for two of my favorite characters. Snow and Charming bring together a round table to discuss their plan of action and look around them to see friends who used to be enemies, a new generation, and new friends who remind them of old friends, allowing Nook to take his rightful place at the table. They learn that Wish Rumple’s plan is to use alter-ego Henry’s emotions against him so that he can cast a spell that will trap every single hero in their own portal or prison of loneliness. He tests the spell out on poor Blue who doesn’t even really get a chance to interrupt, but it’s clear that this fate ends with all of our favorite characters winding up alone. Snow White explains that they need to remind everyone not to lose hope and that they just have to believe to succeed. While Snow White is certainly keeping a positive attitude here, Wish Rumple is ready to unleash his spell on every hero who has ever gotten in his way.

“A weak coward will not be the Rumplestiltskin the world remembers.”

Rumple refuses to let Wish Rumple win. As the portals are all opened, Regina finally gets through to alter-ego Henry and ends the initial threat. However, Wish Rumple is not about to give up that easily. Our Rumple explains that he has evolved and is ready to do what’s right. He even calls Wish Rumple “crocodile!” He knows that he will be giving up his chance to see Belle again, but is finally ready to embrace the goodness that has been trying to surface for so long. It’s about time. Rumple makes the ultimate sacrifice and rips out his own heart. This destroys Wish Rumple and he gives his heart to Nook who is dying after holding on to Alice so she wouldn’t go through the portal. The curse between Nook and Alice is broken and Nook is healed. Earlier Rumple revealed to Nook, “you were the closest thing I ever had to a friend,” which is heartwarming enough, but when Rumple sacrifices his own heart to save his dear friend, his goodness has finally shined through. Rumple is gone but not forgotten and Regina thanks him for saving them and whispers to him that he does deserve his happy ending. Belle is waiting for Rumple in the afterlife and the reunion between these two is simply beautiful. They share a kiss and fade away to their next adventure. Even though Rumple is gone, his story will live on and he is not alone anymore. Robin’s earlier words to Regina about no one’s path being set come true here, proving that the greatest of all villains can become a hero one can be proud of.

“I now crown you The Good Queen.”

After the threat with Wish Rumple is finally over, Regina recognizes that they still need to figure out how to get everyone back to their right time and place. However, she suddenly has a better idea and realizes that they need to cast one more curse. Only this time everyone will willingly offer up a small piece of their heart for it to work. The magic can bring everyone together, allowing all of the realms to exist in Storybrooke. Regina talks about Storybrooke being a secret place tucked away in a forgotten corner in Maine and that’s what fairy-tales are. They are secretly tucked away under our bed or on our bookshelf and it’s up to us to dust them off and discover mystery and adventure with each new story. All of the pages come together to make a true collection and to bring together our favorite characters, opening our eyes to the unimaginable. They give us something to believe in and everyone believes in Regina right now after she is able to successfully bring them all together. Regina is the new elected ruler to her surprise and everyone is here to support her. The Evil Queen has truly become “The Good Queen.” Emma rushes in fashionably late with Hook and their baby, Hope, bringing cheers to OUAT fans everywhere. After Regina talks about this being “a second chance” rather than an ending, she brings us back to all of the moments that made us cheer, laugh, and cry. She says, “I refuse to believe there won’t be more adventures, more love, more family, and yes there will be more loss because that’s just a part of life and in the end we can get past it all with hope.” While she speaks these words that really resonate with all of us, we flash back to some of those pivotal moments in Once Upon a Time, providing us with the perfect blend of nostalgia and closure.

The series ends with us leaving Storybrooke and takes a moment to pass by the yellow bug and some of our favorite places in town, but it’s not goodbye. We can always go back to Storybrooke anytime we want. Our favorite characters still have untold stories that will continue on as long as we keep believing in them and passing them on to the next generation. We all need something to believe in and OUAT truly sparked this in all of us, immersing us in a world filled with endless possibilities. No one’s story is set in stone and we all have the chance to spread goodness to those people we love and to those people who may have some trouble believing. It’s up to us to never give up and to continue to believe in magic and love, which will keep us strong even when the days don’t shine as brightly. Thank you Once Upon a Time for giving us fans seven years of magic that will never be forgotten.
