Ranking the top 5 moments from “Killing Eve” season 2 episode 1: “Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body?”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching BBC America’s Killing Eve season 2 episode 1 season premiere on AMC, Villanelle reminded us that “you can see the scary people coming from a mile away” and that “it’s the good people you have to worry about.” Having a moral compass can be a burden sometimes, as you constantly waver back and forth between what is right and wrong. However, what if you don’t have one at all? Are you just a psychopath or is it possible that there is a glimmer of humanity buried deep within you? After all, you should “never tell a psychopath they’re a psychopath.” Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body?” we finally catch up with both Eve and Villanelle after the major cliffhanger in season one. Meanwhile, Eve has a real conversation with Niko and Carolyn re-surfaces, asking for Eve’s help once again. My top 5 moments from Killing Eve season 2 episode 1 season premiere are:

“I think I might have killed her…”

So, I sometimes have an issue when shows try to pick up sometime in the future or even years later after a major cliffhanger in a season finale. However, Killing Eve did not fall into this trap, as it presented us with everything 30 seconds later. I absolutely loved this because I just recently binge-watched season one and this allowed me to truly pick up where we left off. Eve panics once she realizes what she has just done and tries to get out of Villanelle’s apartment as quickly as possible. She starts to realize that she may have killed her and the reality of her actions begins crushing her. Luckily, we are not kept in suspense for that long, as we also see Villanelle trying to make a break for it despite her severe injuries. It looks like these two may be separated for at least a little while. I’m sure that Villaneve ship fans are hoping for a quicker reunion, however.

“You think I’m a junkie?”

While Eve is waiting in the airport, she begins demonstrating some nervous behavior and a female stranger at the bar asks her if she is all right and says she has been there before. Eve is immediately suspicious about who this woman is, but then suddenly realizes that she thinks she is a drug addict. Eve responds by laughing hysterically, which gave us a break in tension. I mean, Eve is an addict in a sense and her addiction may be even more dangerous. Later on, Niko tries to get through to Eve, but she shuts off when she sees Carolyn’s number coming up on her phone and decides to hide out in the bathtub for over an hour. It’s clear that Eve has been traumatized, but will she continue to submerge herself into her work or will she try to find some kind of normalcy within her marriage? Niko clearly loves Eve, but I’m not sure that she is ready to give up on her job just yet. For Eve, it’s not just a job, it’s who she is.

“Drive faster…this is your fault.”

Villanelle continues to impress me with her quick thinking, even when she is severely injured from her stab wound. She jumps in front of a taxi cab with no hesitation and the cab driver ends up taking her to the hospital, thinking that he is responsible for all of her injuries. Villanelle hilariously does not allow him any kind of reprieve here, as she tells him that it is his entire fault. Jodie Comer continues to impress me again and again as Villanelle, as she somehow makes being a psychopath look fashionably good all the time. I mean, even her hospital outfit was adorable on her.

“Sometimes when you love someone, you will do crazy things.”

After Villanelle wakes up, she realizes that she needs to get out of the hospital before the police are called. Villanelle is able to buy some time by manipulating the attending doctor with a false story, but it’s only a matter of time before she ends up trapped. Villanelle practices out her interesting bedside manner skills, as she poses as a doctor and tells a woman that her husband’s situation is improving, even though it seems like this is definitely not the case. She also seems to bond with the boy in the hospital bed next to her, but ends up snapping his neck when he says that he doesn’t want to live with his injuries. Villanelle does seem to be capable of some kind of love, but it is so twisted and distorted at this point. She clearly still has feelings for Eve and thinks that her stabbing her was a sign that she cares too, but what will happen when she finally tracks her down? I’m not really sure that they will be kissing and making up, but Villanelle is not giving up on this obsession anytime soon. I would love to see Villanelle’s past explored more this season to truly start to understand her character, as she may be one of the most intriguing characters on television right now.

“If she’s alive, you need to find her before she finds you.”

Eve finally picks up Carolyn’s call and learns that circumstances have changed, as she is no longer fired and Carolyn needs her help again. In season one, we saw Nadia slipping a note under her cell door before Villanelle killed her and we now learn that the note read: Alistair Peel and was addressed to Eve. Alistair Peel’s body shows up in the morgue and they assume he has been murdered, which means that Eve has a new mystery to unravel in her mind, which will definitely keep her busy.

We know that there is a connection between Nadia and Villanelle and we also still know that The Twelve are hanging around, so it looks like this will continue to hold our attention in season two. Niko later reveals to Eve that perhaps “there’s no way out of this job” and he’s spot on. Eve’s attention continues to focus on her work, but is she ready to sacrifice all of her attachments to do so? Sandra Oh continues to impress me with her acting, as she really makes Eve stand out as a character that is so unique and interesting. The dynamic between her and Jodie Comer is fantastic and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” season 14 episode 17: “Game Night”

Happy Friday TV fans! After watching the CW’s Supernatural season 14 episode 17, Jo reminded us that “we’re all lonely because we’re all alone.” But does that mean we stop trying to make connections? Castiel later pointed out that we’re not alone because we have each other, but what happens when the people we count on the most slip away from us? Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Game Night,” Dean gets a disturbing phone call from Donatello that interrupts Game Night with the family. Meanwhile, Castiel tracks down Jo and asks for her help. My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 14 episode 17 are:

“I thought this was supposed to relax him.”

Dean is ready for a fun night with the family, but he gets a little bit too frustrated trying to put together the Mouse Trap game, which was absolutely hilarious. I definitely shared his frustration, as I remember spending countless hours trying to do the very same thing. However, this fun moment is interrupted when Dean gets a call from Donatello. It’s clear that Donatello is in trouble and he needs to go check it out with Sam, so it looks like Game Night will be put on hold for now.

“I’m grateful for every day I get to spend with you and Sam.”

Mary is back in this episode and starts talking to Dean about being closed off, but that she’s here for them now. Dean is very much like his mother so he understands, but I started to notice that Mary was really talking a lot about her feelings for her sons. She has a brief heart-to-heart talk with both Sam and Dean, which made me wonder if this meant that something big was about to happen to her…

“I need your help to contact God.”

Castiel tracks down Jo, played by the wonderful Danneel Ackles, and asks for her help. Castiel starts off by giving her a lovely set of earrings, but Jo realizes that something is up. Castiel knows that Jo spent quite a bit of time with Joshua and that he had a connection to God. Only God can restore Jack’s soul, but why didn’t Castiel inform Sam and Dean about this? Jo hilariously comments on Castiel’s “lone wolf desperation,” but begrudgingly agrees to help him. After tracking down the item they need, Castiel places a long distance call to God, but I’m not sure if he got the message. Let’s hope so!

“Nobody stays dead anymore…you know that.”

After Sam and Dean try to track down Donatello, they discover that Nick is there waiting for them. Nick is surprised when he doesn’t get a “hey, how you been” response, but what is his end game here? We know that Nick is desperate for Lucifer to return to him, but how is Donatello connected? Dean comments that Nick is “freakin coco puffs” and he’s not wrong, but that doesn’t make him any less dangerous. After Jack threatens Nick, he agrees to give up Donatello’s location, but we discover that Nick wants to use Jack’s blood to communicate with a prophet to ultimately find Lucifer and bring him back.

“You need help…”

After Sam is severely injured by Nick, Dean contacts Jack and Mary for help. They track down Nick and Jack is able to stop him before Lucifer takes over, but Jack takes it too far. He burns Nick alive, killing him, despite Mary’s cries to stop. Jack tries to rationalize his actions and does heal Sam, but Mary later confronts him about everything and tells him that he needs help. Jack’s soul has clearly been damaged and he seems to be having trouble controlling his anger and powers. Jack’s eyes begin glowing, as he tries to make everything stop and we get a major cliffhanger when he simply says, “Mary” at the end before the screen goes black.

It doesn’t look good for Mary here and her loving words to her sons earlier in the episode convince me that she is gone for good. However, I can’t help thinking about how Nick reminded us that “nobody stays dead anymore” and he’s spot on. However, it seems unlikely that both Nick and Mary will be returned to life so is there some other loophole here? Jack has ultimately become even more dangerous and I’m not sure how he will face Sam and Dean now. I’m sure that he will try to spin the story some other way, but it’s only a matter of time before the Winchesters ultimately need to face off against Jack before it’s too late. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 3: “You Tell Or I Will”

Greetings TV fans! After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 3, I realized that Ava asked an important question: “How do you act normal when nothing in your life is normal…when you’re forced to trust people you hardly know?” Especially when your new circle of trust has a lot of secrets and “nothing stays secret forever.” Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “…If One of Them Is Dead,” Dana Booker continues to try to “divide and conquer,” to get to the bottom of Nolan’s murder. Meanwhile, Alison continues to rely on Mona for help and discovers some hidden truths along the way. My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 3 are:

“I know a liar when I see one.”

In this episode, Dana Booker continues to consult with Nolan’s mother, Claire, as they suspect Caitlin, Ava, and Dylan’s involvement in the murder. Claire explains that she will focus on Caitlin, as she will not want to risk her family’s future. Claire seems to be very interested in Caitlin specifically, but why? We know that Claire is very much aware of Caitlin’s mother’s potential scandal, but is there something more to this to further her own agenda? Is she perhaps the one blackmailing Caitlin’s mother to begin with? I have a lot of questions here, but it looks like manipulation doesn’t fall far from the tree, as I am starting to see where Nolan got his own blackmailing skills from. Either way, it looks like Claire is not someone to be taken lightly and could end up being a major threat later on.

“She’s trying to divide and conquer us.”

Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan are happy that Alison provided them all with alibis, but they don’t know her well enough to trust her completely just yet. They recognize that they all need to stick together, but their secrets are out there, which makes this no easy task. They quickly realize that Dana is trying to split them up and get them to turn on one another, but will they be able to outsmart her? We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like these three are not getting split up anytime soon.

“You went out of your way to do something nice for me.”

Ava is having an extremely difficult time coping with Nolan’s death, as she turns to alcohol to numb her pain. Most of Ava’s friendships seem to be on the superficial level so it looks like she could really end up bonding with Caitlin and Dylan. In a touching moment, Caitlin brings Ava the present that Claire gave her, recognizing that Nolan must have meant for her to have it. Ava is clearly moved by this gesture and I think this just solidified a new friendship between these two for good. Later on, Dylan asks Caitlin and Ava to listen to the music piece he created for his boyfriend, which is extremely touching as well.

“You tell or I will.”

After tracking down a lead at the cabin Nolan went to, Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan smell something funky in the car. They take a page out of I Know What You Did Last Summer’s book, as they discover a dead rat in the trunk along with a threatening note. So who wrote the note and what exactly do they want? Later on, Caitlin discovers the same gum wrapper that was in the woods, which belongs to Mason. So is Mason the one who witnessed everything in the woods or is this a little bit too obvious?

“But we need to do our suspicious activity.”

Alison goes to Mona for help again, but Mona is upset to find out that she has been locked out of the network. Alison and Mona recognize that they need to channel some old school Nancy Drew detective skills to find out more, as Mona hands over an old yearbook to Alison. Alison begins questioning her own witnesses and tracking down leads that bring her to the very same cabin, but it looks like Alison has discovered something very important. Alison finds the same rose that she saw in one of the memorial pictures for Taylor and starts to realize that Taylor may be alive. After all, Alison is no stranger to faking her own death, but will she find herself in even more trouble once she continues to follow this trail of breadcrumbs? Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Walking Dead” season 9 episode 16: “The Storm”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching AMC’s The Walking Dead season 9 episode 16, Ezekiel reminded us that “things fall apart.” However, “it’s knowing when to keep fighting and knowing when it’s over.” But is it ever really over? The threats continue to pour in and our characters are tested again and again, but somehow they continue to survive even when it feels like the entire world is against them. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “The Storm,” winter is the real enemy, but the walkers are not really up for a snow ball fight either. Meanwhile, Lydia gets up close and personal with a walker, Dog goes missing, Carol tries to cope with her loss, and Negan is finally let out of the cage. My top 5 moments from The Walking Dead season 9 episode 16 season finale are:

“You don’t have to protect me.”

In the beginning of the episode, the characters start to flee or prepare for the brutal winter storm that is headed their way. We get to listen in on some chatter on the way and find out that apparently we need to send a raven in order to get a response from Maggie, but I appreciate that they are trying to keep that story-line open. Lydia is not really a welcomed guest, but Daryl refuses to let anyone talk to her with disrespect. Lydia feels extremely guilty and tells Daryl that he doesn’t have to protect her, but Daryl reminds her that “it’s their problem, not yours.” I love that Daryl is looking after Lydia here because he obviously wants to do something nice for Henry, but I think Daryl also sees a lot of himself in Lydia as well. Daryl believes that she is a good kid and is willing to help her, but Carol is having a tough time, as she explains, “Every time I look at her, all I see is him.”

“It’s like Christmas to me.”

Back in Alexandria, the characters realize that they need to find a suitable place to get warm, but Gabriel recognizes that they have to let Negan out or he will freeze to death. Finally! Negan does not disappoint, as he hilariously comments on the “hot little quadrangle” we have to entertain us, which doesn’t really amuse Rosita and her suitors. Negan takes it one step further and tells Gabriel, “Your girl’s doc is also your girl’s baby daddy,” but refuses to have his comments be called predictable. He later says, “Father…not the Father” to keep the laughs coming for us, which reminded me why I love Negan’s character so much. He may not have too many fans in Alexandria, but he absolutely kept me entertained.

“You’re not weak.”

Lydia’s guilt is overwhelming her and she ends up getting up close and personal with a walker stuck in the snow. Lydia closes her eyes and starts bringing her arm toward its mouth, but Carol interrupts this before anything can happen. Later on, Lydia tells Carol that her son is dead because of her. In a heartbreaking moment, she says, “Henry said I was a good person, but he was wrong.” She asks Carol to kill her, hoping to fix everything. Carol’s grief has been consuming her and it was beyond heartbreaking to watch her go through Henry’s box of things. However, Carol knows that Henry truly cared about Lydia and is still a good person. Carol doesn’t grant Lydia her request and simply tells her, “You’re not weak,” which I thought was a really important moment between these two. Carol and Lydia may never really form a close bond, but they both have a shared love for Henry, which is a link that will never be severed.

“I feel like I’m losing myself again.”

Carol continues to lean on Daryl’s shoulder, but Ezekiel is not exactly pleased. He later approaches Daryl and asks him not to continue on to Hilltop with them once they are out of the storm. Ezekiel explains that he is not trying to be the bad guy, but that he wants to give Carol and him a fresh start after everything they have been through. Daryl doesn’t give him an answer, but he does later ask Carol what she wants him to do. The bond and friendship between Daryl and Carol is so strong, but Daryl is willing to walk away if that’s what Carol needs. Daryl and Carol have been through a lot together so it’s understandable why Carol is leaning on him so much, but it doesn’t make it any easier for Ezekiel. At the end of the episode, Carol decides to go to Alexandria and gives Ezekiel back his ring. Ezekiel tells Carol that he’ll never stop loving her and Carol says, “I’ll never regret the fairy-tale,” which broke my heart. Carol has been through unimaginable horrors and I just want her to have something good, but I think it will take a very long time before she is able to open up her heart again. Carol needs to heal, but she has to do this on her own so that she doesn’t lose herself again.

“Thank you for saving her.”

We get some action during the episode, as the walkers begin popping out of the snow while Daryl and the others cross into Alpha’s territory to get to safety. Daryl even cleverly uses an icicle as an interesting choice of weapon. Meanwhile, Judith also gets herself into trouble when she runs after Dog in the middle of the storm. Negan rushes after her and tells her, “You’re just trying to get a little extra Negan time.” I mean, we’ll take all the Negan screen time we can get. Negan saves Judith and Dog, but has injured his leg severely. Luckily, they make it out OK and Michonne later approaches Negan to thank him for saving his daughter. This is a very big moment, revealing that perhaps Negan can make a difference after all, even though Michonne has had a hard time accepting this. Does this mean that Negan will be out in the open from now on? I really hope so because I think that he can truly prove his worth in Alexandria. Negan also leaves us with a very important observation. Michonne risked a lot by cutting into Alpha’s territory, but will there be consequences? Negan explains that “no one ever thinks that they’re the evil one” and he’s spot on. We cut to Alpha briefly who says, “I’ll need to be stronger for what comes next,” as Beta begins whipping her arm. No wonder Lydia has so many issues.

So what exactly is coming next? It certainly gives us some setup for season 10, but we’ll have to wait to find out. We are also left with a mysterious voice coming over the radio at the very end. So who is on the other end? Is it an old friend or a new potential ally? It sounded like a female. Is it possible that this is a crossover from Fear the Walking Dead? Maggie? Someone connected to Rick? I’m not sure, but it definitely keeps my interest invested, as I am looking forward to finding out more. Overall, the episode provided us with a nice balance of setup and action. Nothing was going to compare to the shock of episode 15, but I still thought that the season finale had a lot of important moments and it really gave us a chance to connect with some of our favorite characters even more. Stay tuned for season 10 and don’t forget that Fear the Walking Dead begins June 2^nd!

Greetings TV fans! After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 2, I realized that it’s important to stay true to who you are. You may want to change some of your past evil ways, but that doesn’t mean that you should let people walk all over you. The new head of security may be the bitch, but our girl Alison is the Queen Bee for sure! Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Sex, Lies, and Alibis,” Nolan’s death is officially ruled a murder and everyone is a suspect. Meanwhile, Alison receives a disturbing text message and Mona channels her inner crazy to get to the bottom of things. My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 2 are:

“It’s OK if you’re relieved he’s dead.”

While coping with the shock of Nolan’s death, Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan realize that they are in a lot of trouble. Their conversation comes true, as Nolan dies exactly the way they described, which means that they are all suspects. But if they are not to blame, that means that someone else was in the woods, listening to this very same conversation. Each character has a secret, but will Nolan’s death split them apart or bring them closer together? If there was someone else in the woods, who was it and what is their next move? We’ll have to stay tuned to find out, but it doesn’t look like anyone is in the clear.

“I literally just got that text…from the dead guy.”

Alison receives a text message from Nolan’s phone after he died and is immediately in panic mode. Alison goes to visit Mona for help and Mona points out that someone wants to make it look like Alison killed Nolan. Mona determines that the text message was sent during a power outage, which explains the delay, but this still doesn’t make Alison look that innocent. Was the text sent from Nolan and what help did he require? Is it possible that the killer used Nolan’s phone to lure Alison out? There are so many questions here, but I am completely immersed into this mystery and I’m absolutely loving it so far.

“I’m the reason he’s dead.”

When Alison goes to Mona for help, she is showing off her impressive, but crazy skills, as she writes down everything, trying to get to the bottom of the mystery. Mona could give Homeland’s Carrie Mathison a run for her money here, as she becomes obsessed with figuring everything out. Alison ends up hitting Mona in the face to snap her back to reality and it actually works, as Mona is happy to see some Key Lime pie, which is her favorite! Mona gives Alison some great advice and asks her, “When did you become such a wuss?” I love that Mona is not afraid to tell it as it is and Alison needs to hear this from her. We know that Alison is looking for her fresh start and wants to do good, but that does not mean that she needs to get stepped on in the process. We still don’t know much about Mona’s potential connection to the FBI or some other kind of secret service, but I’m sure we will find out more soon.

“Spencer and Toby eloped?”

So I absolutely love that this new series is finding a voice of its very own, but it also stays true to its roots. Alison casually name drops A and we also get to witness Mona calling Hanna from Pretty Little Liars and we discover that Spencer and Toby eloped, which had me cheering and possibly squealing with joy. I thought that this was a very clever way to keep PLL fans satisfied with new information while keeping the new story going. We also get to see the new characters show up at Nolan’s funeral, giving me a sense of PLL nostalgia for sure. Well done!

“Bring it on bitch.”

At the funeral, we get to meet Dana Booker, who is a former FBI agent and the new head of security. She has a connection to Ava, as she previously worked on her father’s case. Coincidence? We already established that there are no coincidences here. Dana is taking her job very seriously, but Ava asks an important question: “Why leave the FBI to become a school cop?” Ava may be the unlikely voice of reason here, as I was thinking the very same thing. Dana may have a past here or she could be connected to Taylor’s message on the wall somehow, but it looks like she is going to be a major pest.

Later on in the episode, Nolan’s mother is waiting for Alison in her house, which is kind of creepy. Alison understands that this was previously her daughter’s house and has a revealing conversation with her. Claire tells Alison that she is a survivor and perhaps this is exactly what Alison needed to hear. After Dana interrupts Alison’s lecture to pull Ava, Caitlin, and Dylan out of class, Alison lies and says that they were all at her house the night of the murder. Alison clearly wants to make a difference with her students and understands what it means to be caught up in all the drama, but did she make the right call here? We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks like Queen Alison is back, so Dana better watch out. Stay tuned!

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching AMC’s The Walking Dead season 9 episode 15, I remembered that if you witness a happily ever after moment on TWD, it’s probably too good to be true and it means that something is coming. Something shocking, horrifying, and heartbreaking. While you may think you’re ready, it’s amazing how much a certain reveal can impact you. However, it’s important to keep going and to remember the good. There is always still a glimmer of hope remaining and sometimes it appears in the most unexpected places. Please note MAJOR SPOILERS are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “The Calm Before,” the fair is underway, as everyone tries to participate in the fun. Meanwhile, Daryl takes a group out and is surrounded by threats and Alpha is ready to make a deal, but not before proving just how ruthless she can be. My top 5 moments from The Walking Dead season 9 episode 15 are:

“Let the fair of new beginning begin!”

In the beginning of the episode, Ezekiel addresses the fair and tells everyone, “We’ve always been bound to each other…we always will be.” Ezekiel mentions sacrifice and specifically brings up Rick, Carl, and Jesus, while also having a replica of his tiger next to him, which was truly touching to see. Jerry’s title for the fair is shot down and we are welcomed into the fair of the new beginning. It looks like everyone is ready to join in on the fun and come together to celebrate, but we know that the Whisperers are still lurking around, waiting to make their next move. I’m not sure that anyone was truly ready for what was about to come next, however.

“I have just the thing.”

Carol is ready to go off after Henry, but with perfect timing, Daryl and the others return to The Kingdom. Carol tells Henry that he can never run away from her again and we also get to see Michonne reunited with her old friends. Everyone is very receptive to Michonne even though she has been gone for quite some time. Carol asks Judith if she remembers her and Judith explains that she has been drawing pictures of them since she was little. Tara breaks up the party; however, when she spots Lydia, recognizing the danger here. After some discussion, a pact is made between all four communities, as Ezekiel is more than eager to whip out the treaty he has been holding on to for all this time. Although, I kind of liked Tara’s idea to “spit and shake” on it or to have a blood oath. All of the communities have now come together, as Rick’s vision for the future is not completely lost, but can the communities still stay strong after tragedy?

“You guys are adorable.”

The fair is underway and it seems like love is in the air on TWD. Carol and Ezekiel get to meet Lydia and Ezekiel says, “Our son is taking a girl on a date to the movies tonight.” I guess it would be a step up from dining on bugs together. Henry’s annoying friends try to mess with Lydia and make her jealous, but Henry tells Lydia that he really likes her, which is genuine and somewhat sweet. We also get to see Enid and Alden confirm their relationship status, Rosita and Eugene have a heart-to-heart talk and we witness a kiss between Magna and Yumiko. However, perhaps the sweetest moment for me was when Daryl asks Connie to feed Dog while he is gone, which I thought was adorable. But why are we taking all this time during the episode before the season finale to devote to us shipping these characters together? While all of this was going on, I knew that it meant that something big was about to happen. Someone is definitely going to die and seeing them happy and together will only make us that much more heartbroken later. I almost wish I wasn’t right here, but we aren’t watching a Rom-Com.

“I don’t know if there’s a happy ending here.”

You’re absolutely right, Carol, as Daryl takes out the A team to investigate things further. Daryl is with Carol, Michonne, and Yumiko, but they are quickly surrounded by walkers and then come face to face with an overwhelmingly large group of the Whisperers. They fight valiantly, but they are outnumbered here. Daryl sees Beta again, who tells him, “You just had to give me the girl…now that deal is done.” After watching a lot of setup and Rom-Com moments, I thought that this was the major plot point before the storm hits in the season finale, but nothing could prepare me for what came next.

“I want to tell you a different story.”

So, we are now at my top moment and I want to remind you again that major spoilers are ahead. While the fair is going on, Alpha uses her freshly made skin mask to fit in and walk around. She ends up even conversing with Ezekiel and is quite convincing and later sits down next to Lydia at the movies, motioning for her to be quiet. We then go back to Alpha approaching Daryl and the others, as she tells Daryl to come with her. Alpha recognizes what it means to talk to someone leader-to-leader and she sees that within Daryl. Alpha shows Daryl a huge horde of walkers beyond the cliff and tells him that she has let his people live all this time. Daryl asks Alpha if she killed Lydia, but Alpha doesn’t directly answer this. She tells Daryl that she wants his people to stay on his side of the border and that he will know it when he sees it. Ominous, right? Alpha also tells Daryl that she doesn’t think he can protect her daughter, but she hopes that she is wrong, which reveals the tiniest sliver of humanity within Alpha. When we see Alpha crying after Lydia has told her to leave, Alpha kills the Whisperer who witnesses her displaying human emotion. Even if humanity exists within Alpha, she is not about to compromise her position as the leader.

Daryl heads off with Michonne, Carol, and Yumiko, and they stumble across Siddiq, who has clearly been taken or attacked. As they begin to approach the border, you can see stakes lined up from far away. The stakes are decorated with the decapitated re-animated heads of ten victims, but of course, we need to get a little bit closer and zoom in on each and every one of them, to truly feel the impact here. So who didn’t make it? Here is the complete list for your reference:

The Highwaymen’s Ozzy and Alek: I was just starting to like them too.

D.J. and Frankie: Former saviors that I almost forgot about. I’m still glad that you were able to at least try and protect members of the community.

Tammy Rose: I found it interesting that Tammy Rose was up here, only because we watch Alpha take a moment to look at her and the former Whisperer baby, which had me thinking that perhaps this selection wasn’t random? Either way, I feel really bad for her husband.

Rodney and Addy: I almost forgot about these characters, but they were Henry’s annoying friends and they did converse with Lydia, so is that why they are up here? I also think it’s important to note that Alpha is not above selecting children to die. Did she determine who was weak or was this just the luck of the draw?

Enid: So here come some of the bigger characters. We get a glimpse of Alden looking for Enid while he is performing and my heart sank. Enid has not really had too much screen time lately, but this was still awful to see.

Tara: I was not prepared to see Tara up here and I immediately started crying. I have a soft spot for Tara because she is goofy and just true to herself, reminding me a lot of myself sometimes. Tara was also the first LGBTQ character on the show and she has grown so much as a leader and a friend. In the comic series, it was Ezekiel up here, but a major leader from a community needs to go. I’m just really sad that it was my girl, Tara, who deserved better.

Henry: As much as I have complained that Henry is such a pointless and annoying character, he didn’t deserve this fate. However, Lydia kind of sealed this outcome for him by defying her mother. You really didn’t think that Alpha would let Lydia live and keep her new boo, right? What really got me here was Daryl trying to protect Carol from seeing this, as he repeats, “No, just look at me.” My heart truly went out to Carol in this moment.

Siddiq is left alive and explains that Alpha told him to talk about what happened, mostly to drive them apart and scare them, but Siddiq stands before everyone to tell them a different story to inspire them. Siddiq tells them about their friends and family coming together one last time to fight for their lives with honor. They became real heroes and Siddiq explains, “We have to keep going for them and for all of us…we need to honor them and remember these friends…our family, died as heroes. That’s the story that I want to tell you and for us to remember.” This moment was truly powerful and it proved that hope can still exist even in the worst of times. In the beginning of the episode, the couple traveling to the fair are murdered, but are carrying H necklaces, which represent Hilltop or Home, but they also represent hope. Daryl takes Lydia out to the spot where Henry died and she leaves one for him and I don’t think that she will ever forget what Henry did for her.

Overall, this episode initially gave us a lot of setup for what’s to come, but it also provided us with one of the most shocking moments of the entire series here. After the episode, I could not stop thinking about what happened and that image of all ten re-animated heads on the stakes, marking the border. It was beyond disturbing and so heart wrenching, but we know that no one is every really safe on this show. That doesn’t mean that it makes these moments any less tragic; however, as we connect so much with these characters and continue to root for them to prevail. Winter is coming in true GOT fashion, but our favorite characters will need to keep fighting. Will this tragedy inspire strength and community? Let’s hope so, but I also think we need Negan at this point. Maybe let him out of the cage already, Michonne? Stay tuned for the season finale!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Supernatural” season 14 episode 16: “Don’t Go in the Woods”

Happy Friday TV fans! After watching the CW’s Supernatural season 14 episode 16, I remembered that I will never go in the woods pretty much ever. I’m not a fan of camping or hiking as it is and I’ve seen enough scary movies to convince me to stay far away from the woods after dark and this episode continued to reinforce that fear. Please note major spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Don’t Go in the Woods,” Sam and Dean investigate a case at Big Creek State Park in Iowa after a girl is brutally attacked by an “animal.” Meanwhile, Jack is given a mission of his own and meets up with Max and some of her friends. My top 5 moments from Supernatural season 14 episode 16 are:

“My mission is shopping.”

Sam and Dean decide that it may not be the best idea to have Jack tag along on their case right now since he has been going through quite a lot and they don’t really know if they can trust his powers just yet. However, Jack gets his own special mission, as Dean provides him with a very important shopping list for supplies, which includes beer, listed twice. I mean, it is pretty important, but I started to wonder what Jack would do for ID and it’s funny how this came up later on.

“The Ghostfacers are cool.”

So, I am a Supernatural fan for life and I love any excuse to mention the Ghostfacers. I was extremely excited to see a fun cameo from them in this episode. When Jack heads out on his important shopping mission, he runs into Max and some of her friends on the way. As a reminder, we saw Max and her friends in episode, “Lebanon,” earlier this season. One of Max’s friends is watching a video on his phone of the Ghostfacers and Jack says he has never heard of them. We get to see a quick clip of them saying, “Winchesters still suck ass though,” which is absolutely hilarious. I’d love to get another full Ghostfacer episode for sure and you can’t help loving their catchy theme song, which you can listen to here!

Max and her friends tell Jack that they know about the whole hunting thing and Jack tries to play it off by asking, “What’s a ghost?” Jack is relieved that they know about everything and it looks like he may get the chance to actually hang out with some kids his own age. Then again, he is only two…twenty…two.

“I can fix this.”

It initially seems like Jack is fitting in with his new group of friends, as he is extremely excited to invite them into the world of demons and monsters. Jack even shows off his abilities and is asked: “Dude, are you like a Jedi or something?” However, as this started, I began to worry that Jack was not in control of his powers and that the impact on his soul would prevent him from knowing where the line is. After Jack went a little bit crazy with the angel blade, one of the girls is accidentally stabbed. Jack is able to heal her, but his new friends tell him to stay away. Is Jack truly dangerous? I don’t think that Jack has bad intentions, but losing part of your soul and not understanding right from wrong is not something to be taken lightly, especially since Jack may be the most powerful being in the world right now.

“We hunt these things.”

As Sam and Dean investigate the case further, they realize that they may be dealing with a Kahunta. It means whistler and the Kahunta can certainly carry a creepy tune, which sort of reminded me of a darker version of Negan’s whistle from TWD. The sheriff in town seems to know a lot more than he is initially letting on and we find out that the Kahunta was actually made. It’s a curse and the being would always be starving unless he fed, but if he failed to, he would then be forced to feed on himself. The Kahunta is definitely not a looker and even has this burning type of ooze that drips from his mouth, which had my stomach turning. Sam and Dean work with the sheriff to stop him once and for all, but the sheriff tries to ask them why they don’t just tell people that monsters exist. Sam and Dean explain that knowing about monsters and fighting them are two different things and that people still ultimately die. I thought this moment was important and relevant, especially since it connected to what Jack is dealing with right now. Luckily, teamwork ends up panning out here and the Kahunta is taken out once and for all. “Gesundheit!”

“It was crappy of us not to tell you.”

After the encounter with the sheriff, Sam and Dean realize that they need to be honest with Jack about their concerns. Sam and Dean come clean with him and tell Jack that he deserves the truth. Jack says he understands and won’t use his powers without permission. However, Jack does not tell Sam and Dean about what happened, which is very concerning. Is Jack trying to protect himself or is there something else going on here? Either way, it’s not a good sign that he is keeping his family in the dark. Stay tuned! New episodes return April 4^th!

**Supernatural has announced that season 15 will be its last. 15 is a very lucky and significant number to me so although it is bitter sweet, I think it is the right call for the series to end after next season. Carry on my Wayward Son. SPN never really ends though, as it will continue to live on through its SPN family.

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” season 1 episode 1: A Solid Series Premiere

“Welcome to Beacon Heights University, where excellence is not an option…it’s a requirement.” After watching Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 1, I remembered why I fell in love with Pretty Little Liars in the first place. It’s hard for a spin-off to gives fans that sense of nostalgia, while still creating a unique voice of its own, but I have already been hooked after the first episode and I can’t wait to see the new mystery unfold. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s “Pilot” episode, Alison DiLaurentis gets a fresh start and takes on a TA position at Beacon Heights University, but is quickly reunited with our favorite troublemaker, Mona Vanderwaal. Meanwhile, we meet several of Alison’s new students who may wind up being the prime suspects in a new murder and Alison’s presence here reminds us that nothing is ever a coincidence for a Pretty Little Liar alum. My top 5 moments from Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 1 are:

“We are and then we’re not.”

After Alison comes to town and is reunited with Mona, it looks like both of our favorite characters from Pretty Little Liars are in desperate need of a fresh start. We learn the fate of Alison and Emily’s relationship, as Alison explains that Emily had trouble getting over the past. Does that mean that Alison and Emily will never get back together? Not necessarily, as they are tied together by a family, but it looks like this relationship has been put on pause for now. Alison wants to leave the mean girl behind her and truly wants to help her students and make a difference, but wherever Alison goes, drama is never too far behind.

“Is it OK to murder a murderer?”

An interesting question for sure and I have to say that I was actually really digging Alison’s lecture. Can I sign up for her class? As Alison gets to know her new students, she asks them to participate in a discussion on Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, which is actually quite fitting if you think about it. We are introduced to several new characters and quickly learn that everyone is a suspect and that appearances can be very deceiving. No one really stood out to me just yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing their characters explored further as the series continues.

“Try and stay away from him.”

Perhaps the most disliked new character is Nolan Hotchkiss, who seems to be the resident bad boy on campus. Alison notices that Nolan is a lot like how she used to be, using manipulation and blackmail to get what he wants, but there also seems to be a lot of complicated drama with his family as well. We learn that his sister, Taylor, apparently committed suicide about a year ago and that Nolan’s mother, Claire, played by the amazing Kelly Rutherford, seems interested in Alison because she reminds her of her daughter. Mona says that by her calculations, Nolan could be dangerous, but can we really trust Mona here? What other connections does Alison have to the Hotchkiss family? I’m not sure, but I’m already intrigued enough to find out more. I’m loving this setup so far!

“I know a little bit about manipulation.”

Maybe way more than a little bit, Alison, but it appears that you have truly changed, but the past has a way of dragging you backwards sometimes. We soon learn that Taylor is actually alive, as Nolan goes to visit her secretly. So why did she fake her own death and what is the bigger play here? There seems to be quite an emphasis on the advanced security system on campus, so have the Hotchkiss siblings uncovered something behind that or is there another mystery yet to be revealed? Alison also finds a picture of Taylor and the resemblance is striking, so is it possible that Alison could be related to Taylor? Toward the end of the episode, Alison uncovers a message behind the wallpaper in Taylor’s old room that says, “They’re Watching,” which furthers my theory on the security issue, but there is still a lot to uncover here.

“There are no coincidences.”

Alison recognizes that there are definitely no coincidences. After all, she comes from Rosewood. Alison asks Mona why she is here, but it looks like this all needs to be put on hold, as we find out that Nolan has been brutally murdered at the end of the episode. Nolan is found impaled on a fence, as everyone gathers around in horror. All of his friends quickly become suspects and so our murder mystery begins. However, we are left with another cliffhanger at the end, as Mona starts talking to herself and asking if this was her fault and has someone in her ear piece. Is Mona actually working for the FBI or some kind of secret agency? I mean, we know that Mona is extremely intelligent and qualified so perhaps her recruiter position is just a cover.

Either way, I am already completely hooked and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. The spin-off series premiere really gave Pretty Little Liar fans exactly what they needed, but I am really enjoying the college campus change of scenery and I think this will give Alison and Mona the chance to shine, while introducing us to some new faces who may surprise us. Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “Riverdale” season 3 episode 16: “BIG FUN”

Happy Thursday TV fans! After watching the CW’s Riverdale season 3 episode 16, I remembered why I love Riverdale so much. It’s not always easy to do a musical episode, even though some shows have done an amazing job in the past, but Riverdale continues to provide us with the “BIG FUN” for sure. It doesn’t feel forced or out of place, it just works and it gives us some great entertainment along the way, while continuing to further the plot. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Chapter Fifty-One: BIG FUN,” our characters participate in the Heathers musical, but are in for a surprise when Evelyn Evernever is announced as the co-director of the play. Meanwhile, Veronica’s family begins to fall apart, Toni and Cheryl have a dance-off filled with attitude, and Jughead tries to follow up on a lead that could tie back to his mother. My top 5 moments from Riverdale season 3 episode 16 are:

“Let’s fight for us.”

Even though we have a fabulous musical going on, the drama continues between some of our favorite couples. The cat is out of the bag, thanks to Evelyn’s obnoxious share time circle, and everyone now knows about Archie and Josie. Veronica takes the news surprisingly well, but she is distracted with her own issues at home. Is Archosie just “two lonely souls filling a void” or is there something more here? Archie suggests that they take that leap of faith together and find out who they are as a couple. Even though Josie is hesitant at first, it looks like Archosie is still going strong for now.

“You make me feel better.”

During the episode, Veronica finds out that her parents are separating and she is devastated by the news. Even though the Lodge family is far from perfect, Veronica insists that they can all work together as a family, but Hiram coldly tells her that he knows about Hermione trying to have him killed and tells her that they are not a family anymore. Veroncia requests that they show up one final time together at the musical so she can try and hold on to some kind of happy memory, which they agree to for their daughter’s sake, but Hiram is not someone you want to cross. Now that he knows that his wife has betrayed him, what will be his next move? Meanwhile, Veronica runs back into the arms of Reggie during all of this, desperately trying to feel something, but she realizes that Reggie has stronger feelings for her and that maybe this wasn’t the best decision, even though Veggie fans are rooting for them. Are they end game? I’m not so sure about that, but Reggie thinks that they should cool it for a while until Veronica can figure out what she wants.

“You let it go.”

Jughead finds out that his old trailer could be potentially used to make drugs and he is beyond upset. Jughead still clings to many memories here, but he also wants to stop his mother’s drug operation. Betty gives him some advice and explains that he can just let it go, but it looks like Betty is starting a trend of burning things to the ground. Even though burning the trailer brings Bughead closer, I am worried that Betty’s darkness has re-surfaced, but will she take this rage out on the Farm or on someone she loves?

“Maybe it’s not too late for us.”

While everyone practices for the musical, Cheryl shows off that she is the ultimate HBIC or the “demon queen of high school,” as if she were made for the role of Heather Chandler. However, Cheryl is less than thrilled when Kevin announces that Toni will be the choreographer. Toni and Cheryl continue to clash during a dance-off and the tension escalates when Toni wears a red ensemble, as Cheryl reminds her that “I am red…here, I invented red.” The bitch is back and I wasn’t really liking it, as Cheryl has come so far with the help of Toni. Fear not Choni fans, Toni gives Cheryl an olive branch of sorts and the two finally talk about their fight, suggesting that it is not too late for them after all. Cheryl is used to an “all or nothing” approach to love, but Toni tries to remind her that this is not always the way. Our favorite couple is reunited and they even share a kiss, having Choni fans cheering everywhere.

“I knew my dad would like it.”

Evelyn has been announced as the co-director of the play, which Betty is not thrilled about at all, recognizing an ulterior motive here. Betty puts her spy skills to the test and finds out that Evelyn has been inducting some of her classmates into the Farm, but Principal Weatherbee seems unconvinced by Betty’s evidence, suggesting that perhaps he is also caught up with the Farm. At the end of the musical, a slow clap begins, as Edgar Evernever, played by One Tree Hill’s Chad Michael Murray, stands up. Others follow his lead, suggesting that the Farm is everywhere, but will Betty and Jughead be able to get to the bottom of this now that Edgar is out in the open? Stay tuned!

Ranking the top 5 moments from “The Walking Dead” season 9 episode 14: “We Have To Protect The People We Love”

Happy Monday TV fans! After watching AMC’s The Walking Dead season 9 episode 14, I remembered that scars are not always on the outside. Sometimes the scars we can’t forget run past our flesh, screaming on the inside, refusing to be tamed. They are a constant reminder of something, but they can also be a badge of courage, pushing us forward and giving us strength. Please note spoilers are ahead if you have not gotten a chance to watch yet. In last night’s episode, “Scars,” we get an important glimpse into Michonne’s past and finally learn the truth about the “X” marks. Meanwhile, Lydia continues to make a great impression wherever she goes and Negan sheds some light on his unconventional friendship with Judith. My top 5 moments from The Walking Dead season 9 episode 14 are:

“What about her?”

Daryl arrives at Alexandria’s gates, looking for some help from Michonne, as Henry is badly injured. However, Lydia’s presence does not make things easy, as Michonne and the others do not trust outsiders. Daryl vouches for Lydia and says that she is with them, but can they really trust her? Michonne explains that she does trust Daryl and allows them to pass through, but she’s definitely keeping her guard up.

“Think about that.”

The gross ship between Henry and Lydia continues, as Lydia tells Henry that she will never forget what he did and starts touching his scar, explaining that she likes it. Michonne interrupts this stomach-turning love connection to have a talk with Lydia. She sits next to her on the stairs and says, “To save my people, I’ve had to risk others…it’s what I had to do.” Lydia listens intently, as Michonne further says, “If I could just walk away and take all the risk with me…think about that.” Michonne walks away without letting Lydia respond to this, but her message is pretty clear and to the point. Is Lydia strong enough to do the right thing here and walk away? Lydia cares about Henry, but she is constantly putting her new friends in danger by being with them.

“So now you’re curious.”

I love how Negan is now the constant voice of reason, as Michonne confronts him when Judith goes missing. Michonne wants to know more about their friendship and thinks that Negan is feeding Judith bullshit to earn her trust. However, Negan gently reminds Michonne that Judith can “smoke out the bullshit.” He tells Michonne that Judith likes hearing stories about her father and brother, as Negan tells her about some bad-ass moments featuring them, which brings her closer to her family. Negan says that he shoots it straight with Judith and Michonne asks him if he told her about what he did to Glenn and Abraham. Negan surprises her by saying that she has heard those stories too, but Michonne has heard enough and tells him, “You don’t get to talk to me about Carl…she is my daughter!”

Judith is Michonne’s daughter and Negan reminds her that she acts a lot like her mother sometimes, which is actually really great advice and ultimately points Michonne in the right direction so that she can find Judith before anything happens to her. Michonne has been trying to protect Judith’s innocence for so long, but perhaps it is time for her to start treating her like the strong young woman she is becoming.

“Children are capable of anything.”

During the episode, we flash back to Michonne’s past when she was pregnant with R.J. Michonne gets a blast from her past, as she crosses paths with her old friend, Jocelyn, played by True Blood’s Rutina Wesley. Michonne is so happy to see her and welcomes her, agreeing to help her save her group of children. Jocelyn explains that none of the adults in her group made it, but that children can be capable of anything, as she has become a den mother of sorts to them. However, everything is not as it seems, as Michonne discovers that they have raided their supplies and left Alexandria, taking Judith and some of the other kids with them.

Michonne and Daryl rush off after them and are caught, as we watch the horrifying act of the children branding both Michonne and Daryl with the “X” marks under Jocelyn’s instruction. Michonne manages to break free and refuses to leave her daughter behind, as she shows just how far a mother will go to protect her child. Michonne kills Jocelyn and tries to get through to the children, but they are too far gone to know what is right and wrong at this point. Michonne’s stomach is slashed by one of the children, which was horrifying to watch. I seriously could not believe that Jocelyn and the children could be this cruel and merciless, but we are living in different times now. Judith’s life is threatened and Michonne does what she must do to protect her daughter. She kills the children in her way and saves her daughter and she’s had to live with this choice for all this time. No wonder she does not trust anyone at this point.

“We have to protect the people we love and we will.”

Negan is not the only one to give Michonne some advice, as Daryl suggests that Michonne tells Judith about that day as well. After tracking Judith down and stopping the walkers in her way, Michonne tells Judith that she has to tell her something. Judith actually remembers that day and explains that she initially did not recognize her mother because she was covered in blood. She didn’t talk after it happened because she thought it made her mother sad, which furthers this loving bond between Michonne and Judith. Michonne chose to be Judith’s mother, but it has not been easy, especially since Rick is gone. However, Michonne does the best she can to protect her family, but she recognizes that it is time to finally confide in her daughter and tell her the truth. Michonne takes Judith to the spot she buried, which is where Michonne made the promise to never bury another child again. Judith understands where her mother is coming from and this is a really important moment for these two. Michonne agrees to help Judith track down Daryl and the others, as they approach the Kingdom together, but we learn that the Whisperers are lurking in the bushes, ready to inform Alpha about this place.

Overall, this episode provided us with some really important information and shocked us with horrible truths and realities. The dead have not been the main threat on this show for quite some time, as we witness how dangerous humanity can be. We don’t always see betrayal coming, but sometimes we have to take a risk and trust someone to protect the ones we love. I was impressed with the performances and even though it was more of a transition episode, I thought that it was necessary and important, revealing so much about Michonne’s character and reminding us that each decision can have a consequence, which makes leading extremely difficult. Is Michonne ready to take on Alpha? We’ll have to see, but it looks the Whisperers are done waiting in the shadows. Stay tuned!
